I have felt very sicky today and yesterday which has made me a little grumpy, had a go some person for being rude in Morrisons today and had 3 random lads starting on me, glad to be home.
Other than that got the MIL offering to come with me to my booking in app on monday which im not keen on, how can i talk about private bits with her there, dh getting me out of it hopefully, need her to take me home afterwards as i normally faint with blood tests when im pregnant and she is being sweet im just a bit more private than that.

VMumToBe · 27/03/2010 15:38

IHello ladies! Oh why oh why is it raining? I really want to get the garden looking vaguely lovely before bump = limited digging ability! So unfair.

Congrats on the house moves and successful scans all = I can't quite believe how much has happened in your lives over the past few days!

I appear not to be able to keep my eyes open when not at work (and yep sometimes have a cheeky 40 winks in a distant unused store room there too!) which is actually limiting how much I can eat! Any tips in this caffiene free world that we are all supposed to be inhabiting?!

Scan next Weds but I think that I can actually feel the beginnings of a little tiny bump just below my belly button, coming up from my pelvis. So eternally exciting...

shieldbug · 27/03/2010 17:10

Hello all!

VMumToBe Your comment on a tiny bump got me thinking... how big are we all at the moment?
I'm normally slim, but I have a HUGE bump at the moment, to the extent that my belly button is definitely thinking of everting...nice! I'm very obviously showing and am having to invent new positions to lie down in to get to sleep! I'm either having twins or an elephant.

So...here's the question..who is showing and who is not and has anybody else grown out of the early-stage under-bump jeans? Is anybody still looking normal?

Hermya321 · 27/03/2010 17:23

Shieldbug I'm currently not showing and still looking relatively normal (hides behind sofa) but then again this is my first (peeks out from behing sofa) and I have lost weight due to constant nausea at the mo.

VMumtobe You can still have caffine if you wish to, you're just suppose to only have a few cups of tea or coffee a day. I've cut down a heck of a lot, but I still need my morning cuppa. If they want that they can tear it out of my cold dead hands.

Tyson86 · 27/03/2010 17:32

I have a small bump, def there and its nice tbh, i didnt get a bump with ds#1 till past 20 weeks. Everyone knows im pregnant so not a problem.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 27/03/2010 19:27

Oh, a morning cuppa. Wish I still wanted one. The thought currently makes me boak. And I love a nice cup of tea. Usually.

As far as bump goes, nothing yet as only 9 weeks, but I have a lovely fat tum due to bloating from the progesterone (and cake and biscuits) so I look about 4 months. At least there's lots of room for the bump to grow into and I'll look the same size for a while (yeah, right).

MummyLovesSadie · 27/03/2010 19:38

Yes I definitely look pregnant too! It's still a bit jelly-like at the moment but over the last few days I've noticed it rounding out nicely. Is anyone else's tum much bigger in the evening than in the morning?

My 12 week scan is on Tuesday & I'm really frightened. I find it hard to believe that I'm actually going to have a live healthy baby because of the year I've had. All I keep thinking is that something bad could have happened between the last scan I had two weeks ago & the one I'm having on Tues.

NinthWave · 27/03/2010 20:23

Can I just do a happy dance about being Quote Of The Week on the Mumsnet homepage this week? Nearly fell off my chair when I read the Parenting News email and saw my name in it...

I have a definite bump already - I know it's belly and not baby, but it's high and round and firm to the touch. And it wasn't there three weeks ago! Got some jersey maternity trousers from Next and they are sooooo comfy.

DillyDora · 27/03/2010 20:32

Hey Lovelies - no bump for me, just bloat!!! So, flat tummy in the morning and 6 month bump by bed time .

Hang on in there mummyloves are there things you can do to distract yourself? Got any good films or books? Not too long till Tuesday.

I'm a right grumpy ase too, lost the will to live in Tesco earlier on. I'm fighting a cold and have a rollicking cough which is not* helping. Ah well, mustn't complain.

Ninthwave well done for your genius, I shall go and look for your quote right now!

Have a good evening all
xx

Nymphadora · 27/03/2010 20:38

vmumtobe I have been doing my garden today. Decided to rearrange it so have had dh following me round doing heavy stuff! And I can hardly dig without my back aching, 4 digs rest, 4 digs rest!

shieldbug I have a bump but it still goes up & down depending on wind. I am in normal jeans but have a hair band fastening them today. Still have 2 1/2 weeks of keeping it quiet til I have my scan so going to be a lot of baggy clothes!

tiredfeet · 27/03/2010 20:43

Ninthwave I like your quote of the week well done! I have a big soft spot for postman pat though (despite his work ethic!), and the guy that wrote the books used to come in the shop I worked in during the university holidays, as he left he would say 'cheerio' just like postman pat does and it would make my day

I've lost weight due to all the illness, no bump really, I really want to look pregnant now, I think it will make it feel more real (will probably change my mind about that later!)

mummylovessadie good luck for tuesday, I know the worrying must be so horrible, but at least Tuesday will come round soon

Nymphadora · 27/03/2010 21:30

ninth lol at the quote . Were you from postman pat land then or did he Live elsewhere? Postman pat land isn't far from me!

Nymphadora · 27/03/2010 21:34

Sorry questions were for tiredfeet

Hermya321 · 27/03/2010 21:43

Ninth LOL!! Well done you. Thats a brilliant quote.

MLS I get a little bit rounder in the evening, not much though. But I can tell the difference. DH loves it and keeps patting my tummy. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you for Tuesday though. Let us know how it goes.

tiredfeet · 27/03/2010 21:44

from Yorkshire, think Postman Pat land is more the north west? but the author, john cunliffe I think he's called, lived in my town. Been dragged down south by DH's work though only bonus is living near the sea, but I do miss the north!

Nymphadora · 27/03/2010 22:01

tiredfeet yorkshire /cumbria borders & the bit they keep swapping

AbFabT · 27/03/2010 22:34

Wow, Ninth - that really is a claim to fame! Get you!

I have a teeny tiny bump, not sure if it is baby or just lack of exercise though.

Vikks · 28/03/2010 10:41

Morning all! Just been reading up on what I've missed over the last few days. I wish I had more time to post and keep up with you all.
It's lovely to hear about all these fantastic scans, mine is tomorrow! It's soooo scary, but I've have had two good scans already so I'm trying to cling on to that.
Everyone that knows I'm PG says I have a bump. I have definitely have put on weight and changed shape, I've had to buy new clothes too. I'm just not sure if it's fat or baby!
We've also had more exciting news in the family...my sister is pregnant! We are very close (only sibling) and there's only a year between us, all going well our babies will be born 2 months apart! My M&D can't believe they are going to be granparents and at Christmas there will be two new babies in the house.

Elsa123 · 28/03/2010 11:25

Morning! Vikks- thats such good news! Its lovely that the cousins will be so close in age- I'm kind of annoyed that there will be a gap between mine (if all ok) and my nephew and niece. Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Mine's on Wednesday- its the excited, nervous thing isn't it?

I think I'm having a hormonal surge this week as I'm getting proper nausea for the first time. Previously it was headachy nausea if you know what I mean and apart from the rare bout, I've just spent a few minutes spitting into the toilet bowl very very lose to barfing.

We all seem to very different on the bump front. My size 8 next jeans that I use for DIY still fit, but I've put my levis away and am living in some hobbs cords that are quite big round the waist. All my skirts still fit, and there is a bump, but not awfully noticable I hope! Currently digging out trousers that fit around the waist but look baggy everywhere else! My boobs are now a 32E, which is fine and they haven't got much unmanagably bigger yet.

Shieldbug- I know what you mean about lying on your front. My boobs hurt too, which stops that kind of lying around!

So how is everyone else today? It was lovely and sunny first thing, but the clouds are rolling in now..

Tyson86 · 28/03/2010 12:13

It is so not fair that everybody are having their lovely scans and iam 12+4 today and having my booking in app.
Bloody 3 weeks to wat for my scan
Iam terrified about tomorrow, first lot of blood tests, dont wanna go

Hermya321 · 28/03/2010 12:35

Aww vikks thats so cool, I bet you're really looking forward to christmas now aren't you.

elsa I'm the same, it hurts for me lying down on my front as well.

Well I'm ok, had a very odd dream that I gave birth at work. It was awful, everyone was watching me try and get this baby out. (Shudders)

SilverSky · 28/03/2010 12:35

Hi all,

Happy Sunday, anyone else forget the clock change today?!

Still sat in my PJ's. Feeling very lazy today, I am so tired. Think I did too much yesterday.

Colleague in my office is happy to man the fort on the afternoon of my scan, so just need boss to say yes, which is easier, plus I am bang on 12wks for my scan.

Tyson - are you having a nuchal scan? If so, 3 weeks time is possibly to late for the scan to give you an accurate reading. I am purely going on from what I have been told. Chances are that your MW will say the same.

Hope the weather is nice where you are!

I think I am too shattered to enjoy it!

Tyson86 · 28/03/2010 12:44

silversky Iam hoping she does think it is ridiculous and re arrange the appointment as it will be over a week to late. I will need her to book it within 1 week and 1 day for it not to be too late so cant imagine it will be possible, i complained at the MW drop in clinic and she said it doesnt matter as ill have the blood tests. She was very rude and pissed off i'd been sent there in the first place.

Elsa123 · 28/03/2010 12:46

Tyson- I haven't had a booking in appointment yet either and no date for one. I'm 11+3 I have no scan date, so I sorted one for myself at the Fetal Medicine Clinic in London.

Hermya- what a horrid dream! One of those ones where you wake up wondering if it actually happened?!

AbFabT · 28/03/2010 13:15

Vikks, that is awesome news about your sister. How lovely. I have two brothers, neither are in relationships so no cousins on my side for my baby for a while. I mentioned previously though that my husband's sister is due two weeks before us, so that is lovely. Only one grandchild for my mum though - I think she wants loads, asap!

Tyson, so sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the MW. Not what you need at all.

My breasts are slightly tender and sore, but the worst thing is the itch, they are soooooo itchy - does anyone else have this? DH does a lot of weight-lifting training and says when he and the guys are bulking up, they know they are growing in the pecs area when they start itching there, so I guess that is what is happening here, though I haven't read anything about it in pregnancy! Itch itch itch - it's unbearable! I don't really feel any bigger up top, and I am still fitting into my pre-pregnancy bras just fine. It's just this incessant itch!

Hope you all have lovely Sundays. We are doing more tidying, a grocery shop, and then just some lazy snuggling!
