Congratulations tiredfeet! Lovely, isn't it!
And thank you for your kind words to me!
Thanks also Hermya321 and Elsa123!

Been busy telling more friends - everyone is so excited for us, aah.

Nymphadora · 25/03/2010 16:53

dilly thanks but it was the mw who wouldn't give me it! Gp told me to check but she isn't budging

Nymphadora · 25/03/2010 16:59

shielbug tried that on both the local pharmacies and neither would have it. Am saving receipts on hope I can claim them back. Am due another next week & don't think I can hang on untilmy appt which makes 5

Hermya321 · 25/03/2010 17:01

Dilly Nah it wasn't me, it was Nymph who couldn't get her form.

Gosh I can't wait for my scan, roll on the 7th is all I can say!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 25/03/2010 19:27

Congratulations tiredfeet and AbfabT

I I'm not sure re prescriptions - is there a standardised information on nhs direct or something? I hope you can claim back previous prescriptions - seems pretty shit it varies so much from trust to trust.

Hermya the 7th must feel miles away!

SilverSky · 25/03/2010 21:38

I have dilemma and would appreciate advice.

Regarding private scan date, one colleague already has annual leave, and that's the limit for our office. Leaving two of us. So do I tell my boss why I need a half day hols (ie : truth or something else, if truth ask him not to share) and tell colleague something else, hope that colleague doesn't mind and won't call in sick shafting me as its the afternoon I need off.

Or do I call FMC and ask for alternative date and hope I don't get charged for changing date?

Sorry if this seems silly, its just I have asked Husband and he has given me a blank look in return. Men can be so useless.

MummyLovesSadie · 25/03/2010 21:55

Ask for alternative date first & if they won't change then you'll have to tell your boss. You could always tell him it's for some kind of gynacological issue & I'm sure he wouldn't press you for any details!

SilverSky · 25/03/2010 22:02

Thanks MLS. I'll do that and go from there. Why is it being preggers messes so much with how your brain works, and lets face it, mine doesn't work that great at the best of times!!

Hermya321 · 25/03/2010 23:10

Seashells Yeah it is, I can't wait. I'm hoping all is well, it should be. But, well you can't help but worry at times.

Silver I'd just say that you had a hospital appointment that you really need to go for. Most of the time in my experience employers don't ask for proof.

Nymphadora · 26/03/2010 06:00

seashells it's not even varying trust to trust as hermya is same one as me

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 26/03/2010 06:58

Wow, ok that really is shit!

MummyLovesSadie · 26/03/2010 07:39

Nymph here is the number for the NHS exemption people 0845 601 8076.

Also I don't know if you would find this any use.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 26/03/2010 08:10

FFF Five For Friday

Ok, I've had a shit day already (up at 4am with ds, let dh lie in so MS with toddler staring into bowl too not good, just looked into the mirror and saw my mother, jsut sent my ds off to nursery as we are paying for a place to keep it open for my non existent employed life etc etc ) So I thought we could do something to cheer me (and anyone else) up!

Copy, paste and answer - you know the drill!!

  1. Why did you choose your posting name? (And are you changing it for Easter)
  1. What is the worst thing about being pregnant?
  1. If you could actually live the life of one film, which film would it be?
  1. What is the one thing you have to do before the baby comes?
  1. Which book do you read again and again and why?
Nymphadora · 26/03/2010 08:17

MLS thanks!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 26/03/2010 08:19
  1. Why did you choose your posting name? (And are you changing it for Easter)
I can never come up with a clever witty one, and this is FAR too girlie for the usual MN fare, but its in honour of moving to the seaside (which I am very very pleased about!) I'm not sure about Easter names though, may be Seashells on an egg hunt (see, told you I was bad )
  1. What is the worst thing about being pregnant?
The wind. My dh loves me, I am lucky enough that after 12 years he still fancies me, but even he is struggling to deal with it. How and why dies our dignity disappear with pg? I though I was meant to glow and be mother earth like, not resemble the slough stench?!!
  1. If you could actually live the life of one film, which film would it be?
Amelie. I would love to be a petite elfin boho babe who is french rather than the lanky blonde anglo saxon which has as much mystique as a packet of crisps!
  1. What is the one thing you have to do before the baby comes?
Meet up with all my uni friends, who are childless, and go out with them all on a good weekend of fun - won't be possible for another year after bump is born if bump is anything like ds
  1. Which book do you read again and again and why?
two books - frenchman's creek and pride and prejudice. I love letting them wash over me
Elsa123 · 26/03/2010 08:37
  1. Why did you choose your posting name? (And are you changing it for Easter)Its not my name, I just really like it and it doesn't go with my surname so I cannot use it if I have a girl.
  1. What is the worst thing about being pregnant? Worry.
  1. If you could actually live the life of one film, which film would it be? Not sure- I'll get back to you on that one!
  1. What is the one thing you have to do before the baby comes? Finish building my house.
  1. Which book do you read again and again and why? What shall we have for dinner- a food romance by Tamasin Day-Lewis.
Elsa123 · 26/03/2010 08:46

Oh, and I'm cheesed off too Seashells- not quite in the same league as you, but I have woken up to thrush, my shoulder still hurts and an officous twat in my office is really annoying me and, I have a meeting in 15 mins that will last for 2 hours, be a total waste of time as the contractor won't be there. grrr.

So there you go! Other than that, its Friday and I have next week off!

tinywelsh · 26/03/2010 08:57
  1. Why did you choose your posting name? (And are you changing it for Easter)
well i'm very small and welsh, it seemed to fit
  1. What is the worst thing about being pregnant?
The wind, the twinges right in the middle of meetings, the odd dreams, the wind, the spots, mood swings and the wind.
  1. If you could actually live the life of one film, which film would it be?
Junior- let the men get pregnant!
  1. What is the one thing you have to do before the baby comes?
turn my spare room from a smelly store room to a gleaming babyland.
  1. Which book do you read again and again and why?
Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett- never fails to make me laugh
Hermya321 · 26/03/2010 09:50

Seashells Yeah it's stupid, our trust seems to work on a wild west approach to doing things.

  1. Why did you choose your posting name? (And are you changing it for Easter) I love the name (not my real one) but I probably won't be changing it for Easter.
  1. What is the worst thing about being pregnant? Feeling like I've had a mild form of the flu for the past six weeks.
  1. If you could actually live the life of one film, which film would it be? I should say that I would love to be Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice but in all reality I would love to be the female version of Jason Borne so I can beat someone up using a telephone book and a biro.
  1. What is the one thing you have to do before the baby comes? Move house to somewhere that has central heating.
  1. Which book do you read again and again and why? Time Travellers Wife - Makes me cry everytime but I love it and Pride and Prejudice, I love that Lizzie Bennet always gets the guy.
Lulabell · 26/03/2010 10:19

Glad you managed to get a scan arranged silver, that must be a relief, although a huge pain that you're having to sort it.

AbFabT that's great news, congrats to you

Nymph my gp gave me an exemption form the first time I saw him at about 5 weeks (although he messed up filling it in so it was returned and I still havent got one). That's really baffling that the mw wont hand it over.

  1. Why did you choose your posting name? (And are you changing it for Easter) It's an old old nickname, but unfortunately it combined with some of my posts has made me easy to identify and I'm actually going to change it.
  1. What is the worst thing about being pregnant? The incessant burping, it's so embarrassing. I cant bear the thought of eating of drinking in front of other people now
  1. If you could actually live the life of one film, which film would it be? Can I childishly say Harry Potter - although more the book - I would love to have a broomstick and make potions and spells that basically fix everything. Except of course fiendishly evil wizards.
  1. What is the one thing you have to do before the baby comes? Eat out at all my favourite restaurants, just in case it's the last time for a year or so.
  1. Which book do you read again and again and why? The Silmarilion, I just love love love it. It's so detailed and so glorious and sinister at the same time. Really puts paid to Peter Jackson's hideously twee version of Tolkien elves.
FingonTheValiant · 26/03/2010 10:24

This may be a bit obvious after my latest post, but hopefully it'll make me a bit harder to trace. I'll update the list, but in a page or so if that's ok.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 26/03/2010 10:28

Lol Fingon you forgot to twirl you cloak!

Elsa123 · 26/03/2010 11:08

I don't get it? Am I being thick or something?

FingonTheValiant · 26/03/2010 11:17

Haha seashells

Elsa am now a character from my favourite book

FingonTheValiant · 26/03/2010 11:30
