Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hello all, how is all in Pumpkin land? It's pretty good here, my symptons seem to be easing and I'm getting less nausea now. I actually managed to go for a jog on Friday. I did jog before I got pregnant but I haven't for the past few weeks as I've felt like rubbish. I didn't take any real chances though, I went on the field at the back of mine and made sure I took it easy. Even though I probably won't be winning any races anytime soon, it did make me feel so much better (and more normal) to go jogging round a field for a little bit.

It also helped when I got chased by the Emu at the zoo yesterday as I was able to get away a bit sharpish.

Tiredfeet See it work and also Harribo is literally one of your five a day as well, I mean it has fruit juice in them. It would be wrong not to eat them. You're right about the gin and tonic as well, everyone needs lime . I love the fact that you tricked your LO's using catch up TV, fab use of lateral thinking!!

Abfab Oh cool, happy pre anniversery!! I've already sort of planned what I want to do for my birthday. If it helps, last year for mine and DH's anniversery we went to pizza hut (we were very very skint and it was a real treat for us, not for everyone but we've always been a bit contrary).

Hi Hermya three threads in a row now I've followed you onto....

My emotions have been all of the place this weekend. Dh keeps telling me to put them on here after he read the ridiculous bouts of cryoing threads. This weekend mine have included:
I can't ride a bike watching the sports relief cycle. Dh offered to teach me and I cried more cos I don't want to.
The MN on pg book made me laugh so much I ran out of laughing and sobbed until dh took the book away
Although I watched the 'Lovely Bones' last night & didn't cry

Spent most of the weekend in bed catching up on sleep. dh has realised how difficult I am finding walking up the hill to our house after me collapsing in the nearest chair last night and taking about 10 mins to recover. Thing is its not that steep and only about 200m max up the hill

Hermya321 · 21/03/2010 18:51

Nymph I've just seen you on the MN thread as well, you little stalker you . Regarding the emotions, I blubbed when I saw the sports relief thing about the blue peter presenter who kayaked (sorry if I spell that wrong) up the amazon. I was so proud of her and started crying. DH turns a blind eye. LOL about your DH taking your pg book away.

AbFabT · 21/03/2010 19:08

tiredfeet, yes, I have nice in-laws.

Three and a half-ish days til my scan!

Mm, pizza. We do like Pizza Hut, Hermya, though I love love love Strada pizza more. Might suggest a simple pizza night out for my birthday (though we do have a date night once a week anyway, so not sure it's much different). DH wants to do something special for our anniversary, not sure pizza will cut it.
I am impressed you managed a jog - well done! I have sat on my bottom pretty much all day.

Mm, I want pizza now!

SamanthaB123 · 21/03/2010 19:11

Hello all, very sad and sorry here...

Had a terrible dream last night that involved bleeding and high blood pressure and every bad thing. Woke up very unhappy and expecting to be lying in blood. There was nothing of course. However, I didn't feel sick. What a catastrophe! I have felt sick the whole time and definately on waking for weeks...had a terrible panic then. I'm a bit to early for symptoms to be passing really. Anyway, poor DH didn't fall for any of it at all and told me to enjoy the feeling of wellness. He was right of course, have felt like poo for most of the afternoon and have had to stop myself from throwing up a number of times.

This is a terrible business...I can't win if I feel well or if I feel ill. My scan is such a long way off still - it's not until I am nearly 13 weeks. Roll on April 13th... I did try to remain positive and went shopping for larger clothes today. There aren't that many maternity clothes about are there? My belly is a sight to behold and needs a larger waistband !

Sorry to be so miserable, glad to hear about all of the scans and symptoms beginning to pass, SB

AbFabT · 21/03/2010 19:53

Aw Samantha, it's an anxious time for sure! Hang in there. My scan isn't til I am 12 and a half weeks, so I think your scan timing is probably about normal.

I've finally started to notice a bit of a tummy, and didn't get into my jeans yesterday - yippee. Had a look around the shops but yeah, nothing really grabbed me. Reluctant to shop online for trousers as I've heard the sizes vary and you really are better off trying things on.
I'm alright for work as I have a few skirts that can sit below my tummy, and just wear long tops, but for the weekends I like trousers.

Further to my previous post, Pizza Hut has been called, and our pizzas are on the way!

Nymphadora · 21/03/2010 19:57

SamanthaB glad its not just Hermya & I going to be wearing bin bags when we get get bigger. Sorry about the dream though I haven't had one that bad but these pg dreams aren't half real.

AbFabT I have pizza express vouchers to use up and you've just reminded me!

Hermya You could be stalking me you know I got them from threads I'm on

Oh and Dh has just told me I'm a funny shape & waddling today I have been getting pains though and am feeling bloated so I think that might explain it.

Everyone should read the MN book btw just in small chunks

Nymphadora · 21/03/2010 20:01

Dh is having martini. Smells yum. I never drink

Hermya321 · 21/03/2010 21:02

Abfab I have never heard of strada pizza, am I amoung the uneducated? Ah date nights, me and DH have those as well. Twas something our old church leader talked about and one that actually works very well. I'm currently craving nandos and their hallumi cheese thingy ma bobbies.

Samantha My symptons have started to ease as well and my boobs are now only sore to the touch. I think it's around this time that the placenta starts to establish and take over giving the baby nutriants. Actually I googled it and between weeks nine and twelve the placenta takes over the hormone production. So it could be that the whole easing of symptons before the twelve week mark is a normal thing. I'm sorry your dreams have been bad. Here have some of mine, they have mostly involved me being at work and shopping in boots.

Nymph I've been craving coronas for a while now and I'm this close to giving in. I was thinking of getting a tent rather than a bin bag. I mean come on, bin bags are so last year and tents are so much easuer to accesorize with. I mean there's camp stoves and the occasional trailer that we could pull along. Plus you can get tents in Argos. Whose to say who is stalking who these days, it's all a matter of perspective.

Nymphadora · 21/03/2010 21:22

hermya I bet there's quite a selection of tents near you. (if we are still in the right town!) there is def loads of outdoor shops. We might not have to wear green all the way through. Oh and maybe a double sleeping bag for those cold summer autumn days? We could also do wooly hats aplenty!

Hermya321 · 21/03/2010 21:38

Nymph I'm liking it, I can see it now. They'll call it a 'pregtent'.

AbFabT · 21/03/2010 22:22

Hermya, Strada is popular in London and the south, mainly - I know there are a few up north but they aren't quite as widespread as Pizza Express or Hut. The pizzas are awesome, with generous toppings, the base is lovely, and the garlic bread starter is the absolute best garlic bread I've ever had.

www.strada.co.uk

The pizzas from Hut were a little disappointing - not enough topping or tomato sauce. Oh well. It filled a gap.

LOL @ pregtent! Very good!

Meanbeansmum · 22/03/2010 08:21

Sooo many posts! I need more free time lol!

I'm getting baby flutters!!!!! Needed to share my excitement!!!!! I'm so getting a bump now and my sickness is subsiding! There's hope for us all lol!

Good luck to all having 12 week scans! Exciting times!!!

Pizzas................mmmmmmmm. Pizza express is my favourite.....ohhh arlic doughballs..................the garlic butter.................drooling!

Meanbeansmum · 22/03/2010 08:22

garlic dough balls*

Nymphadora · 22/03/2010 09:20

meanbeansmum how many weeks are you?

I'm VERY excited this morning. I have discovered a drink that ISN'T water and doesn't taste wrong and leave me with an after taste (yet) - LUCOZADE!!!!!!!!!
AND it should give me an instant energy boost which is what I need at this time of day. Am soooo happy

I can also tolerate chunky kitkats , don't taste completely right but think cos they are so much wafer they aren't as bad.

So this am I am having a sugar high

(oh and had a couple more bad pains overnight, one when I rolled over and it woke me up and one this am cos I sneezed but am covering them in sugar so everything is ok...)

Meanbeansmum · 22/03/2010 09:31

Nympha 13+3 weeks, 4th baby. Lucozade apple is lush for morning sickness but omg at the sugar in it lol! I've been on the fruit pastilles this morning...mmm sugar lol!

Hermya321 · 22/03/2010 09:38

Meansbeans Thats fantastic, I really want to feel my little one move early on. But I've still got a few more weeks to wait for that one yet.

Nymph Well done you!!! I'm very excited on your behalf!!!

Effilump · 22/03/2010 09:43

Morning all, my symptoms seem to be easing too, which I cant help but worry about, but reading what hermya googled has made me feel a bit better!
My scan is just over two weeks away, not long I know, but time seems to have stopped at the moment.
Loving the pregtent too

Nymphadora · 22/03/2010 10:44

meanbeans I haven't been eating sugary things for ages (except fruit). You're supposed to feel movements earlier with later pgs aren't you so I shouldn't have to wait too long...

tiredfeet · 22/03/2010 14:08

hello everyone, I have been eating a lot of harribo today (I blame Hermya for mentioning them the other day ) so joining nymph in a big sugar high!

Elsa123 · 22/03/2010 15:40

Heloo all! I'm pleased I'm full, otherwise reading through all these posts would have made me starving! Just been into town and had my hair done and got home and restyled it from the weird super straightness- although I do like the colour. When in town I seriously considered pizza express, but thought it was not fair on my DH who wasn't there, so I had a panini and cake in Starbucks. I got fitted for a maternity bra in M&S no its not padded- but it fits and is comfortable and I was exactly the size I thought I was. I still haven't got the paperwork through the post to fill out and send to the hospital for them to get back to me for a scan date. Chased the midwife who's meant to send them, but she only works Weds/Thurs, so is unlikely to pick up the message until Weds. So- thank you to whoever it was who talked about the fetal medicine centre in London (mwah!) because I've rung them and have an appointment for a nuchal scan and bloods next Weds. I just don't trust that I'll get an appointment in time, esp as it straddles Easter. So I feel much better that I have a date to hang my hat on. Its £150 and is a 2 hour appointment. Compared to the 5 min appointment I last had at an NHS hospital where a photo of the scan pic costs £4- I'm fairly pleased.

Agree about the haribo by the way. Fruit mentos are the same I believe......

Tyson86 · 22/03/2010 16:07

Hi all sorry not been on here for a ridiculous amount of time, didnt want to believe i was pregnant till my scan, well that is booked for 15 weeks so went for a private scan and found a healthy little baby due on the 6th Oct so i was only a day out

ILoveGregoryHouse · 22/03/2010 16:11

Elsa, the FMC is great. I had all scans with DS3 there and was very very pleased with them. DS3 had a soft marker at the 20 week scan and the time, care and attention the sonographer took was very reassuring Also LOVING fruit mentos.

Congrats on the scan Tyson. Such a relief.

Hermya321 · 22/03/2010 16:58

I feel rubbish today, symptoms easing my foot. I'm really struggling to find the motivation to do anything today. I just want to go hide in a corner and sleep. Oh well.

Tyson congratulations on your scan!

shieldbug · 22/03/2010 17:47

hermya sorry to hear you aren't feeling any better. Hope you manage to find a way to get a wee snooze. I know how you feel; I am doing a PhD in Biology and have a lot of practical work to do. Before I was pg I loved it but now I am really struggling to find the energy.

Yey tyson great news.

I am 10 weeks now and have been in maternity jeans for a while (that's one big bad bump already) but bought some new ones from Next on Saturday with an overbump thingy. You would have laughed if you could have seen me- obviously I'm still not large enough because the first time I wore them they kept falling down! I had to try to find subtle ways to keep hoiking them up whilst trying to help out at our church youth group. When I didn't succeed, a great bag of the jersey material would fall out by my nether regions! Goodness only knows what it looked like! .
Back to the lab now, fortified by a latte (decaf- boo) and a chocolate muffin. What healthy eating??
