sorry I pressed the button too soon. I meant to finish by saying that I think a lot of people with similar personality types work where I work and people tend to get on for the most part.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 19/03/2010 17:10

sounds fun then!

AbFabT · 19/03/2010 17:13

Hi, Hermya, yeah, fingers crossed, prayers offered, rain dance danced (ok, maybe not that last one). Anything else I can do?

Hermya321 · 19/03/2010 17:35

Abfab I don't know, I think with the big guy upstairs you've got most of your basies covered. But do try to relax though, I know it's hard. Maybe take a relaxing bath or treat yourself to a massage or something. Even if you can't stop worrying, you'll take some of the tension out of your muscles which will go a long way to helping you out.

AbFabT · 19/03/2010 18:26

Thanks for your reply. Have a little pray for me too please!

I'm not all wound up with worry, I am generally quite chilled, it's just that these thoughts occur to me. Roll on Thursday (scan day).

A massage does sound good! DH bought us a massage table last year - I'll suggest we get it out this weekend. Or maybe I should go to a professional, seeing as I am pregnant? I'll check the book. I've found an electronic foot and calf massager machine, have suggested it as a birthday present for me next month.

jennimoo · 19/03/2010 19:18

Just had extremely stressful day moving-wise. Result is might be moving next Thursday but still not exchanged so not sure!

I did make tonnes of calls about my scan between sorting house and crying my eyes out, and eventually got an appointment next Friday afternoon at 12+1! if I could pick a day and time that would be it so I'm hoping that's I good sign! This time next week I might be moved and be making the official announcements about the baby!

Am looking forward to DH getting home tomorrow, and have big list of jobs for him to do ready for possible move!

AbFabT · 19/03/2010 21:33

Moving house is definitely one of the most stressful things we do, jennimoo. Hope you are managing to relax a little and not get too caught up in too many dramas. It's also an exciting time - new house, ooh, I'd love to move house (not that I don't love where we are right now, but it's not ideal for a family, iykwim - but we'll manage for now.). Hope all the plans are going as smoothly as possible - will be worth it once you are all happily settled in.
Glad you got your scan appointment through. About time!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 20/03/2010 06:44

Morning all.

Still in bed most of the time but no more spotting. Just feeling sick as a dog. Couldn't move this morning or even talk without feeling gak! But no vomiting thankfully. Felt a bit better after a slice of ginger cake (for breakfast! I am going to be the size of a hotel).

Jennimoo, hope your move goes well. It's soooo stressful. We're moving to a new villa after Easter - a bit nearer the boys school. Got the packers sorted and my mum is staying until the end of my first trimester so all should be well. Good luck with the scan.

AbFabT when's your birthday? Mine's next month too.

Well, I have to get up later cos I'm singing Mozart's Requiem this evening. Might get DH to film some of it for YouTube.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 20/03/2010 08:07

Jenimoo good luck with the moving!

IloveGH thats one of my favourite requiems (I also love Rutter's) what part do you sing? I'm was an 'enthusiastic' alto, but better at playing than singing!

Hermya321 · 20/03/2010 08:57

Abfab Will do!!! I think there is pregnancy massage books out there if you look. I don't know what you can and can't do though. My birthdays next month as well, how cool is that.

Jenimoo Good luck with moving!!

loueytbg · 20/03/2010 11:27

meansbeans and dillydora congrats on your scans.

jennimoo* so pleased you've got a scan date finally. You WILL have moved by next week

Abfab yes I am having similar worries. First pg I don't think I did but I'm older now (37 soon - eek) and my risk is higher. DS1 has developmental delay. Drs don't know the cause and all his genetic and other tests were clear. So I am very aware that the prenatal tests don't pick up everything. I think I will feel
much happier after I get the results of the nuchal and hopefully you will too.

shield sorry you have had such a nightmare getting your appointment. You shouldn't have to chase like that but it's just as well you did!

12+1 today (woohoo). Have a busy weekend planned as it's DTs birthday on Tuesday so we are having a small tea party this afternoon and then taking them to the London Aquarium tomorrow. Their favourite film is Finding Nemo at the moment.

AbFabT · 20/03/2010 12:08

Hello, ILGH and Hermya. I'm the 22nd - what about you two?

ILGH, what do you mean, you are singing this evening - are you a professional performing singer? Link us to YouTube if you get it recorded!

Hermya, thanks. DH bought a couple of massage books when he bought the table, I'll see if there are any sections on pregnancy, else yeah, will buy a special book. Last night he happily agreed to do the massage. Bless him.

Just woke up to a knock on the door - man with bouquet saying congratulations from the in-laws. Aw. They are very excited.

louey, hope DS1 is doing ok and you are coping ok too. And thanks for reassuring me I'm not the only one to think like this. Best of luck with your scan too.

Have fun at the Aquarium with the DTs. I love Finding Nemo too.

Vikks · 20/03/2010 12:15

Hi Ladies,
I?m still here, I just can?t find any time to post in the week. My new job is so tiring and so time consuming; on the up side, the weeks are flying by and the 12 week mark is nearly here. I?m bursting to tell!!
Last week I had my swine flu, anyone else had theirs? My arm still feels like I?ve been punched in it! Also my waist is definitely expanding, and I?m loving it!!!!! Dating scan is a week on Monday, can?t wait.

Meanbean & Dillydora - So glad your scans went well.

Loueytbg - Have fun today, sounds like you?ve got a great day in store.

ILoveGH - Hope you?re feeling better soon. Eat whatever you think will stay down, I?m gonna be ?hotel sized? too, don?t worry.

Jennimoo - Good luck with the scan and the move!!

AbFabT - Lucky you, I love getting flowers (I might drop some hints to DH ).

Big Helloooo to all the Newbies I?ve missed in the past week, congratulations and welcome to the thread!

Elsa123 · 20/03/2010 16:02

Helloo all- nothing to say, nothing new, jsut to say I've had a read! Gregoryhouse, the nausea sounds horrid- eat what makes you feel better and when it goes, then you can think about reducing potential hotel sizing to motel !

Meanbean and Dillydora- congratulations- can't wait to get something sorted for me, even a blooming midwife's appointment! 10+2 and counting... x x

floozietoozie · 20/03/2010 17:44

Hellooo

Bad mother alert - on MN while DS watches CBeebies. He is eating an apple though so it all balances out .

AbFabT - worries totally normal. It's probably a good thing to acknowledge things don't always go as we would hope (and I should know - 2months prem baby, later diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy at 21 months) but the odds are in your favour. 35's not that old - I'm 39, and with my medical/obstetric history this really is a leap of faith, but it's worth it to have another child. Kids = biggest gamble you'll EVER take!!!

ILGH - I've joined you on 30th. Hope you feel better - good luck with singing.

Hurrah for good scans.

AbFabT · 20/03/2010 18:49

Thanks, floozie. You are right - best not to be totally ignorant and think these things don't happen. I am sure you are coping marvellously with any issues arising from your little one with the mild Cerebral Palsy.

Yeah, 35, nearly 36, this is only our first, and we'd love more than one, so unless this is triplets, I'll be in my late thirties for any future babies. I worry too much! What will be will be, I know.

pookey · 20/03/2010 20:00

sorry very behind with thread dp been off on al for two weeks following an eye op. quick post as dp is urging me,'big bottom', to hurry up. we are going to watch a deevadee (as ds calls them) of grand torino.

at apple balancing things out floozie, afraid I dont even balance things out with fruit!

Abfab I worried about that sort of thing with 1st two pregnancies in twenties. obv worried again this time in fact one of the things I donot like about being pg is anxiety about the baby. remember in 1st pg being really upset when I looked at the measurements from the 20 week scan and ds appeared to have a big head!

Hope everyone has a lovely sat eve x x

Hermya321 · 20/03/2010 20:07

abfab I'm a couple of days before yourself. I can't wait, I'm going to be with family and it'll be the first time seeing them since we told them about the LO. Your DH sounds lovely, bless him.

Floozie I'm shocked and appalled. Being on mn whilst your little one is watching cbeebies . But you're right the apple makes it work. It's the same principle as eating a galaxy fruit and nut, the fruit is one of your five a day and the milk in the chocolate counts as your calcium intake. In all honesty with all the stuff on healthy eating, we'd be fools not to eat the bar of galaxy.

Thirdtimer · 20/03/2010 20:13

abfab - don't worry I currently spend every waking moment (when I'm not puking) worrying. And this is my third pg. Was pretty calm and chilled through the others - this time, I dunno maybe I feel like I must have run out of luck. I know so many people that haven't been so lucky that I'm convinced it's my turn. Half of me is desperate for the scan, the other half is terrified of what it might show me.
Finally had a lull in the spewing the other day and guess what... I was sobbing my heart out convinced it was a bad sign and something had gone wrong! There really is no pleasing me these days!

Oh, anyone else found themselves made a rugby widow all bloomin' day today?!

Thirdtimer · 20/03/2010 20:18

Oh and floozie... that's nothing. We have Virgin TV and when it's been One Of Those Days I have been known to find catch up TV channel and play the day before's Bedtime Hour, and hour early... they watch the programmes, listen to the goodnight song and are tucked up in bed at 6pm none the wiser!!! Hee hee hee...

But how sad that I feel so chuffed at occassionally outwitting two mini minxes!

Vikks · 20/03/2010 20:46

Thirdtimer Rugby widow here!!! That's all we need with MS too. Hope you're feeling better soon.

AbFabT · 21/03/2010 00:00

pookey, hope DP is recovering nicely from the eye op. Ouch!

Yeah, and then you start thinking the anxiety isn't good for us either - aargh!

Hermya, so a month today (yesterday if this clocks as gone midnight!)? The countdown begins! DH is asking what I want to do for my birthday, also our first wedding anniversary is three weeks later - have no plans for either, and I can't even think!

Thirdtimer, yeah, sounds about right - desperate for the scan yet terrified too. Hoping it's good for all of us.

Hope everyone has had lovely evenings.

tiredfeet · 21/03/2010 14:42

hello all, I made it out to a friends house for dinner yesterday evening, was so nice to have a change of scenery , we stayed over as they live deep in the countryside and DH wanted a drink (or ten), was so pleased I made it until this morning when my puking returned with a vengeance! (luckily had bucket beside me just in case). We had warned them though but I was a bit gutted to have to make a quick escape, the sun was shining and it would have been such a lovely day to spend with friends. Still, its only one day out of 4 now, so much much much better than it was! (hope that gives those a few weeks behind some hope

AbFab - how lovely to get flowers from the in laws!

Hermya I am liking your logic about galaxy fruit and nut being healthy eating. Prepregnancy I used to justify gin and tonic as healthy if it had a slice of lime in, so I definitely think chocolate will be a good replacement

good luck everyone with scans looming this week! I actually worked out how many hours it was till mine earlier today

tiredfeet · 21/03/2010 14:43

oh and jennimoo good luck with the moving and the scan, what a week for you!, will be worth the stress to be in your new place though
