Great news Rene

Lovely to hear everyone nesting and getting all organised. I've still to get the pram down from the loft and clean it but DH is bringing it down today and it won't take long. I have absoltely everything else ready, including enough nappies for 10 babies. Somehow it makes me feel better to buy a pack everytime I shop

I really thought I was starting yesterday as I felt "different" and had pains that got progressively worse all day. Unfortunately it all stopped and went back to uncomfortable constant niggles. This one is going to be trouble.

Oh my god, Hoops is having a baby on Mothers day! So nice that one of us is!
I wonder how many will pop on April Fools Day and Easter...!

Just had about 8 pages to catch up on. Hope evryone's ok.
When is a good time to start the raspberry leaf tea? Does it matter?
Does anyone else's pelvis 'pop'? I get a weird bone crunching/popping sensation I assume is from baby squashing against pelvis.

My blood test last week showed I am aenemic and now have iron pills. I still feel tired and puffy though.

Are you allowed laptop/phone in labour ward? HHoops, keep us updated!!!!

thedollshouse · 14/03/2010 14:44

Good luck Hoops Hope it's quick and easy.

Wish my pains would come to something

Happy Mothering Sunday to you all. Hope you got some time to put your feet up.

Snowtiger · 14/03/2010 21:32

Ooh just catching up with the news, so exciting! Hope you're doing OK Hoops and that everything is going well with Mini-Hoops's arrival. What a mother's day present that would be!

I'm also having lots of sharp foof pains, grumbly period-type pains and, oh joy, diarrhoea but nothing seems to be happening. Little one is moving around a lot (elbows and knees appearing under my ribs which is really great fun) so he's obviously not anywhere near engaged, but I just can't get my head around the idea that it could be another month til anything happens! He's GOT to come soon, I'm so sure of it.

Happy Mothering Sunday to you, Neeko, and everyone - hope you're all doing well.

Mistymoo · 14/03/2010 21:32

Hope all is well Hoops.

Does anyone else who is due nearer the end of April feel like they have ages to go before they will be in the same position as Hoops.

I've deliberately got myself thinking that I'll be late so that I won't be disappointed.

PrincessTweetz · 15/03/2010 08:43

Mistymoo I've now got just 2 weeks left, but keep telling my self 3 - 4 cuz dd1 was a week late and it makes me feel readier for another late one.....blame the dad, he's always late!!! Thought he wasn't going to get back from parking the car in time for dd1's arrival at the hospital..and I'm not even joking!!
Soooo excited about Hoop's news...keep checking for updates!
I had pains in my banjo yesterday, right in the middle of a very packed Taybarns
My mum started rubbing my back but I had to ask her to stop so it didn't cause any more attention than it needed to...I don't remember these sharp horrible feelings from dd1, but now I know exactly what the rest of you are talking about. Hope everyone's well otherwise...it's a lovely sunny day here in Cov, and I can't help thinking yay...summer's on the way!! Just need the birds to start singing now! x

Neeko · 15/03/2010 09:00

princesstweetz/mistymoo/snowtiger I'm due in 8 days but I'm also trying to tell myself it could be 3 weeks as I'm dreading being over. I've had lots more pains this time too but my book says that's common with 2nd and subsequent pregnancies. My Wriggler had me up half the night last night and kept rubbing a foot up and down my left side as if he/she was trying to get lower. Still lots of uncomfortable movements today.

hoops Hope you're gazing at your gorgeous lo right now.

Bettymum · 15/03/2010 09:46

Oh so exciting! I've been thinking about Hoops all weekend wondering if anything was happening...and it was! Hope you are well Hoops!!!
Sorry lots of exclamation marks, but it is v v exciting indeed.
MY LAST WEEK OF WORK STARTS TODAY (well at least until it's time to go back in December), I am counting down the seconds. Just want to be home waiting for my baby to arrive now.
Hope all the existing mummies had a lovely mothers day, mine started well with breakfast in bed - after I'd got up and got DD dressed and ready - but degenerated into defrosting the freezer by the afternoon. Oh well at least I have a nice clean freezer .

Snowtiger · 15/03/2010 09:57

Congratulations on your clean freezer Bettymum! I did mine a couple of weeks ago and it felt SO good - hadn't been defrosted for as long as I could remember and I still get a kick out of it when I open the door and can fit more than a pack of fish fingers and an ice cube tray into it!

My Mothers' Day started well too... unfortunately it was somewhat marred by a drunken MIL, who has since texted me this morning with regards to a crossword clue, and made no mention of her obnoxious behaviour, let alone given an apology. I shan't bore you all with the details but grrrr!!! Am fuming!!! Hey ho, maybe next year I'll tell DH to see his mum separately and will do something nice with my boys (ooh plural!!) instead.

Just seen the thread on how long labours lasted 2nd time compared to 1st, and am very exited at the prospect of it lasting half as long this time. That would suit me down to the ground!

How's everyone else feeling this lovely sunny morning? Any news on Hoops or Rtuff?

tostaky · 15/03/2010 10:09

Did my freezer last week too!!!
How exciting for Hoops!!! Cant wait to hear her birth story!!!
Im due in 2.5 weeks but trying not to think about it too much... Also, i have zero pain or niggles and i also feel a bit more energetic so i dont think it will happen very soon for me...
Today I'm washing all DS1 newborn/baby clothes and have done DS2 hospital bag. Just need to do mine now!

HoopsAndBelly · 15/03/2010 10:37

hello ladies, quick update, STILL contracting every 10 minutes, am doing everything to try to make it quicken up, even when on a trampoline yesterday!! Sorry to tell you there is no mini-hoops yet but I'm sure he won't be long just being a bit stubborn like his father!!

Well I'm off to weed the garden and go for a mega-long walk, although it takes me ages cause the contractions really take my breath away!!

Hope everyone is doing well and hopefully I should have some news for you soon
