A big part of me thinks that unless medically induced, the baby will come when it's cooked!

Report
tostaky · 09/03/2010 22:07

The hospital wont allow me to be induced as I had a c-section last time... so I am willing to try anything if I go overdue!!!
So far I am drinking two cups of raspberry leaf tea a day and I am sitting on my ball a lot.
I have booked accupuncture but it doesnt start until next week when i'll be 38 weeks.
I really like pineapple and the Super sweet ones from Ocado are just heaven!!!

Got consultant appt next week to discuss my options re-induction and vbac etc...

oh and i noticed that everytime i go to my preganncy yoga classe i can feel the baby move lower and then after a few days he comes back up again iykwim... weird feeling... so i said to DP i will do lots of yoga around my due date cuz baby seems to like it!!!

Hi ladies,

I've not been posting too much, hope everyone is okay. I'm hating this last stretch. Itching like crazy, sore, knackered and puffing like a steam engine.

Any news from Rtuff?

I've a midwife appointment today, I keep feeling the baby lying across my stomach so I'm not sure if she is breech or just moving alot. Shall see.

Anyway, good luck all, someone is going to pop soon!

xx

Hello ladies,
hope MrsKate's section went well yesterday.
I've just been to the doctors for my 36 week appointment - which is tomorrow. Oops. At least it wasn't yesterday! Felt like a right wally.

I do things like that all the time, Bettymum. In the past month I've been a day late for a board of governors meeting, and taken my son (in full pirate regalia) to a party a day too soon.

Hi everyone. I said hello on the last thread, then lost it and never posted again.

I'm due on 8th April with DS 2. Feeling OK so far, had a good pregnancy but DS1 is definitely aware that life is about to change and has turned into a clingy, cheeky and very naughty little monkey! I'm finding it harder with him than the pregnancy and he wears me out. My Dad is here today taking him out to give me a break - phew!

I'm attempting a VBAC after a very long first labour where DS got into distress, but this one is at least in the right position rather than OP so I'm hopeful!

I've added myself to the list Neeko 33 23rd March 2010 #2

Dwayne I haven't done a birth plan and probably won't bother. I am an old cynic but I don't think Midwives generally have time to read and ingest them and what will be, will be! I guess they are good to help you prepare for birth in your own mind or if you have a very strong preference for or against something and this is just my peronal opinion!!

Congratulations MrsKate, I know what you mean dwayne about our first baby, I have 3 weeks to go and feeling a bit nervous now!!

Is anyone else having really bad diahorrea? Is this a sign of up and coming labour or is it one of those things?

Also I really need to pack my hospital bag as I haven't done it yet

How is evryone else getting on, who will be next??

Congratulations to mrskate!

I've had a bit of diarrhoea Hoops, but don't think it's necessarily a sign of anything happening (more's the pity, am due a month today but starting to get really keen on baby making an early appearance!!).

Dwayne i had the same, body 'cleared itself' in the early stages of labour which was horrible at the time but good because it meant I didn't have to worry about doing a poo when I pushed baby out!! Every cloud, and all that.

I've not done a new birth plan as such - just got the old one out, tippexed a few bits out (like the "wants to deliver placenta naturally"! Sod that! Last time I had the injection, it was out in seconds, and I was very glad too as it meant I could get on with saying hello to my baby!) and that was it.

TBH as long as your DH / DP / birth partner knows what you want with regard to pain relief etc, that's the most important thing I think - they'll be able to talk to the midwives to say "no she doesn't want an epidural thanks" when you're biting so hard on the gas & air mouthpiece that you keep breaking it... or perhaps that was just me?

Report
thedollshouse · 11/03/2010 12:16

I've just had my antenatal appointment and discovered that the baby has turned and is now head down! I should be pleased but I was convinced that this baby would be staying put and now I have to get my head around a natural birth. I am absolutely petrified and it doesn't help that when I just phoned dh to tell him his response was "oh no".

Report
Bettymum · 11/03/2010 13:36

for your DH, thedollshouse .
Don't know what to say really...my SIL had a very quick, but traumatic, first birth and so with the second asked for an epidural as soon as she got to hospital - which she'd already discussed with the midwife - and absolutely loved it. No pain . Maybe you could ask for something similar if it worries you? Or if you still want your cs would they still allow that?
Hopefully you've got a little while to think about your options, anyway.
