Fingers crossed for you Hoops.

I get days when I think baby has stopped moving and start to get a bit panicky, and then the next day it doesn't stop wriggling as if making up for lost time.

Hoops, I hope everything's ok, keep us posted if you can.

I have to go for monitoring twice a week now, because my growth scan showed the baby's not growing quite as well as she should. She was quite a little porker and well up the centiles on earlier scans, and this time her abdominal circumference was a bit measly. I have yet another scan tomorrow to check placenta, blood flow etc and I might have to have an earlier csection if the placenta is packing up. I'm trying to stay calm about this. My mother is convinced something like this happened with my first baby (who is now nearly 10 and rather large) but I've forgotten it was so long ago.

Great to see a new thread - I don't feel so much of newbie and LOVE the name. I have SPD which has got so bad that is actually really hard to put one foot in front of the other. My bump is enormous which doesn't help. With 6.5 weeks to go I can't imagine what I will be like. I just want the baby to come out now. I am gunning for a VBAC (induction then emergency C-section at 11 days over) as I don't want all that pain afterwards especially with the bloomin pelvis pain now. Moan over! DS1 has decided to go back to his 2 hour naps in the afternoon and is generally a little charm right now - I think he is planning something

hello again ladies, mini-hoops is fine, just needed a little kick start with the movements.......made me out to be a liar, little bugger

Thanks for your hand-holding, I am sooooo relieved but could do without scares like this!!

Glad all is well Hoops

thedollshouse I'm glad your baby has turned. I'm still not sure if mine has. Sometimes I think it has but then I'm no expert . I have a MW appt on Wed so will have to wait until then to get more of an idea.

Good news Hoops! I did wonder if maybe you were starting to go into labour. So glad minihoops is well.

bettymum you're not the only one!! It scared me into packing my hospital bag!! Just a little wake-up call for me and has made me realise that it is literally round the corner.......

thedollshouse · 11/03/2010 17:12

Phew Hoops. Glad all is well.

Ds1 was a bit like that sometimes I hardly felt him at all I think it may have been because I hardly had any amniotic fluid. This little one however is the complete opposite sometimes I think he is going to fight his way out of my belly button!

Boodstress - Sorry to hear about the spd, must be a nightmare. Heres hoping you have a nice early baby, although not too early!

ReneRusso - Fingers crossed for the scan tomorrow, I'm sure all will be well.

Bettymum - I have a slight phobia of epidurals so don't think I will be asking for one! Its not the pain that worries me (although I'm sure it will!) its just the fear of it all going pearshaped, I just don't have the confidence that my body is up to natural childbirth. Its partly because the doctor said that their policy for vbac is to allow for a trial labour of 8-10 hours and in my family 48 hour labours are not uncommon! Still what will be will be. I just need to get my head around it.

Report
Boodstress · 11/03/2010 17:35

thedollshouse thanks for mentioning about hospitals having trail labour policies regarding vbac..I didn't realise there could be a restriction. I should check. I took 2 days with DS1 to go 4cm before so I should probably adjust my expectations about another section. Good luck for the scan tomorrow Renerusso. Lots of positive thoughts.

So glad all's well hoops. I had to be monitored for reduced movement at 22 weeks, and it was a horrible experience.

I had my first MW appointment in an age today and, remarkably, my blood count is higher now than booking in and I'm 3/5 palpable. That explains why my heartburn has got so much better then. Still only 34 weeks though, so I'll be walking like John Wayne for a while yet.

I'm not a VBAC-er so help me - these timed trials of labour? When does the clock start ticking? When you arrive at hospital? When you're a couple of cm dilated? Just curious...

Neeko · 11/03/2010 21:15

Hoops so pleased all ok.

Hi to everyone else. Back tomorrow for a catch up.

Report
thedollshouse · 12/03/2010 08:57

flybynight - I think the timed trial of labour starts once you are dilating but I may be wrong. Will find out on Monday as I have my consultant appointment then.

Hi hoops big relief for you.....
I am getting hammered in my right side by this baby - its really sore!!
Went to see my midwife on Wednesday who reckons I am 2/5 engaged so at 36 weeks I am secretly praying for he/she to come a wee bit earlier than 10th April as feel like whale and fed up...... but we shall see, went 10 days over with DD so who knows......
xxxx

Well, thanks for all the good wishes.
Went for scan today, and everything was absolutely fine, abdominal circumference: Big, Growth: Normal, Fluid: Normal, blood flow from placenta: Normal. The measurements were so wildly different from the ones I had the other day, it is unbelievable. Mini-Rene was obviously sucking her tummy in for the camera last time. Or more likely the ultrasound operator made a mistake. Anyway, it's good news.

Excellent news ReneRusso.

wizbitwaffle I think it varies and depends on the mood of the midwife. I saw my midwife at 33 weeks and she said she would see me in 4 weeks time then as I was putting my coat on she changed her mind and said I'll see you in 2 weeks. I have seen the midwife a lot more this time round than I did with ds. When I had ds1 my antenatal appointments were scheduled for 12 weeks, 20 weeks, 33 weeks and 37 weeks (when I had ds). It was nowhere near enough.

Great news Hoops and Rene, glad to hear you and your bumps are doing OK.

Seriously envious of the McDs dinner Wizbit, trust me to marry a vegetarian...! Then again it'd probably kill me with indigestion, I get horrendous heartburn from a cup of tea these days let alone junk food.

Have a great Friday night everyone!

Just enjoyed a nice healthy pizza hut...last night was a chinese, and sunday I'm taking my mum for an all you can eat buffet...yummy!!!! And here was I wondering how on earth I'd put on 2 and a half stone!!
I've got serious lower back twinges tonight...really hoping dp takes the hint and soothes it for me....but looking at him now he hasn't even spoke two words to me, or even blinked in my direction through all my grunting!! Grrrrrrr!!!! Had a nice long walk into town today, and have decided to do it every other day...not into town, just a walk to stop me wasting away as such haha...I'm all ready I think , apart from the fact I still have no carseat!! When we were told it could take upto 8 weeks, at the time I had 8 weeks left, I thought it would still be here within 4....hmmmm....what comes first, the baby or the carseat lol!
Enjoy your Friday treats everyone, and I'm glad everythings well for the checkup ladies....x
