Vix - have only had a light bit of heartburn so far. Was horrible for one night and the next morning, but didn't hang around beyond. I second getting it checked out.

Any more scans coming up in the next few days? I'm living vicariously through them! Mine is in SIX AND A HALF weeks!! Argh.

Just ate a custard tart. Such a good call Pample! I think the only good thing about working in Vauxhall is the fact that Portuguese tarts are freely available.

CherryPie3 · 10/03/2010 13:00

My scan tomorrow nat - 6 and a half weeks til yours how far along will you be then?

sayanything I second what Moose said, don't think your lo will let you forget to feed him - they havea good pair of lungs for letting you know

Poor You Vix Hope the doctor can help!!

Luckily I don't like custard tarts so I'm immune to the latest!

cherrypie I reserve the right to stop after this one but have always wanted even numbers don't know why! We'll see what this one brings I don't know if I could cope with a baby that has such bad excema/allergies as dd2 had and there is a one in 4 of us having another..

vix206 · 10/03/2010 13:15

Well after much faffing I have Ranitidine from the doctor which I think is the trade name for Zantac. The faffing was due to the fact he 'isn't an expert on pregnancy' and had to check with colleagues to see if the drug was safe for me to take. He found that it was not licensed for use in pregnancy, but that it is successfully prescribed to many many pregnant ladies without any problems.

I have to take 1 tablet morning and night so I'll wait and take one before I go to bed and stick with the Gaviscon until then.

Doc said I look as though I haven't slept in a week!! What a charmer

Chulita · 10/03/2010 13:23

vix I really hope that works for you

Just got back from the 20wk scan. Little one was folded in half sucking its toes so they struggled to get much and there were no good photos. DH was grinning from ear to ear though which I thought was lovely!

Just polished off a sausage roll and a Mr Kipling's apple pie, might go and get some fruit downrange to counter the fat

Dreams are funny things aren't they Moose, Cherry and Mousse? Anywaym, I hope I feed him better when he's here, because at the moment he's overdosing on Cadbury's creme eggs. I love them with a passion.

vix206 · 10/03/2010 13:44

Aww Chulita that's so sweet!! Sucking their toes I wish I was that flexible!

bouncingblueberries · 10/03/2010 13:46

OMG! I'm soooooo angry. John Lewis just refused to sell or even measure me for an underwired bra! The woman started ranting and raving at me, telling me I'd get mastitis and how it was wrong and dangerous and I should be wearing a nursing bra.

Somebody please tell me I'm not going insane. I'm right that as long as the bra fits PROPERLY, it's quite safe to wear underwired when pregnant, yes? Even better, if anyone can point me in the direction of proper research to back this up, I'll be most delighted and whack John Lewis over the head with it.

Aaaaargh!

Then, to add insult to injury, when I went to the loo my tights ripped right down the front body seam as I was pulling them up .

Chocolate - NOW!

soontobefatnat · 10/03/2010 13:47

Cherrypie I'll be 22.5 weeks when I have the scan. Might as well be 22,500 weeks - I feel very impatient!

Chulita lovely to hear about your scan - so cute!

CherryPie3 · 10/03/2010 13:48

Awwww chulita bless your dh. And how sweet of your lo to be sucking it's toes

I can't wait for my scan tomorrow now Well, I couldn't wait before but now I'm even more excited!!!

OP posts:
sayanything · 10/03/2010 13:51

Sorry to hear that BB - I haven't any research to hand I'm afraid, only what my doctor told me, i.e., that underwired bras are fine as long as they are comfortable and fit properly.

CherryPie3 · 10/03/2010 13:58

Blueberries and for you!!!! Have tried quickly to get research for you but all that comes up is other forums, which isn't accurate or proven research - how frustrating.

OP posts:
ElusiveMoose · 10/03/2010 14:01

Bet my husband wishes I was that flexible .

Very cross on your behalf, BB. John Lewis has always been my oasis of calm (they practically saved my marriage during a particularly memorably trip to the china department to select our wedding list). Definitely get back to them - I hope they're the kind of shop to actually listen.

bouncingblueberries · 10/03/2010 14:11

Thanks girls - I'm not having any luck finding any concrete evidence either.

elusive me too I love John Lewis and usually feel all safe and fuzzy about them.

I just want a bra that won't give me mono-boob!

Going to write a stern email expressing my disappointment as soon as I can find some research/authority to whack them over the head with

Chulita · 10/03/2010 14:22

blueberries - they can't refuse to sell you an underwired bra, it's against your consumer rights and it's discrimination. Anymore than Tesco's can refuse to sell you wine or brie, I'd go back and complain. There must be something out there about it, but 'you'll get mastitis' I got mastitis after I'd had DD with the most unsexy bras ever! It's not wrong, or dangerous, she was being a twonk for you

bouncingblueberries · 10/03/2010 14:32

Thanks chulita [almost bites off hand while reaching for proffered dairy milk]

And great news on your scan! Sorry - only catching up on posts now that I've calmed down a bit

ElusiveMoose · 10/03/2010 14:37

By the way, I got a really nice black and white spotty tankini in Mothercare yesterday. Over 20 quid, though, so I'm hoping I might get a chance to wear it after the baby's born as well. They had some really nice swimwear in there, though that was the only one I found 'supportive' enough.

Re the funny dreams, most of mine are still aout sex at the moment . I keep having dreams about a certain ex-boyfriend, which is very strange as I haven't given him a thought in years (though we did have a lot of fun for a while ). Don't think I'll be telling DH about that one, though he's certainly enjoying the effects of all this extra sexual energy . I even found myself lusting after David Morrissey in Five Days last week, who I've never particularly fancied .

elusive my dh is also thoroughly enjoying this stage of my pregnancy

Chulita · 10/03/2010 15:15

I am an ice queen at the mo

vix206 · 10/03/2010 15:15

Blueberries - get in touch with Lindsey Brown, she was my tutor when I learned all about bra fitting and she will:

a) be sure to help you and give you some research to whack them with
b) seriously complain to them directly!

Her contact form is here, you can tell her Vicki from La Magia suggested you contact her then she'll know where you came from!

Makes me sooooo mad!!

vix206 · 10/03/2010 15:16

Me too Chulita, I am ashamed to admit it has been well over a month for us.. just not at all interested

bouncingblueberries · 10/03/2010 15:28

vix you are an angel! Thank you so much!

CherryPie3 · 10/03/2010 16:23

We're still managing 2-3 mornings a week, I feel I need to keep dh at bay for the time being cos when I bigger I've told him he's no chance!!! AT ALL!!! Also told him that I will chop it off if he try's!!!!

Blueberries I really hope you get it sorted - you don;t expect to be told that by a John Lewis employee!!!
