hey ladies,

I've been off for too long evidently, don't have the concentration to read backwards unfortunatly so sorry if I've missed anything .

I've had itchy skin on and off for the last few weeks, I use bio oil day & night which seems to help but I still get it even after I've just put it on. Apparantly I read that it's your skin stretching.

Told most people now, including my boss, still not got scan till Thursday so hopeing I'm not jinxing! I couldn't really keep it from work any longer because of all my appointments this week and last. Can't wait till Thursday!

how is everyone doing this week, I'm not particularly looking forward to another working week but got a holiday on the 15th for a few days in yorkshire so looking forward to that.

Chulita · 01/03/2010 14:12

I might try Aveeno, a friend recommended that this morning too.
girls, we had a automatic for a bit and I found it heavier on fuel than the manual and also a bit sluggish on pulling off (roundabouts/junctions/overtaking etc) It was a '99 reg so maybe the newer ones are a bit quicker? I found a bit frustrating tbh but when stuck in queues it was brilliant!

bouncingblueberries · 01/03/2010 15:31

psst...I work on Aveeno

It's fab

On special offer in Superdrug, Boots and Tesco at the mo.

But must admit, doublebase is just as good - just doesn't look as nice in your bathroom.

BOTH are available on prescription girls.

mrsZaC · 01/03/2010 17:14

just thought I'd share. I was out for dinner and one of my friends (who is due 16th aug) had this I was so taken with it I've just ordered one (I think maybe the last one!) I think you can get them elsewhere but I ordered from JL so I could pickup tomorrow and wear it straight away!

Its got one of those chime balls inside and makes a lovely sound, the idea is you wear it so it hangs near your belly and baby is soothed by the noise.

CherryPie3 · 01/03/2010 17:34

MrsZaC Yes I think you did just order the last one as now says sold out!! Lovely idea and very very pretty necklace!!!

pamplem - I know exactly what you mean about getting irritated by sicky people. I'm surrounded by snotty and sicky children in my job, and how I haven't caught anything yet is a wonder.

I sent another 2 home today with sickness. One of them arrived in school this morning with a message from the Mum via the bus escort (special needs, all kids bused in) "He's isn't very well but he'll perk up if I send him to school" - so I ring home to discover the poor boy has been up sick all night, sat wretching in my classroom but nothing left to come up, very unhappy, crying and obviously full of a bug. She wasn't impressed when I insisted that he be picked up and not sent back until at least Wednesday and explained that it wasn't fair to staff and children to have kids in with bugs. and then another of my kids went down with it this afternoon.

Its one of my bugbears and I really hope myself as a Mummy will never send my child to school unless fit enough to be there because I know what its like to be on that side of the fence - otherwise it just spreads and spreads.

MrsZac - that necklace is a lovely idea, I've sent the link to DH as "mothers day hint" haha!

Hope everyone has had a good day. So glad to be sat on sofa in pjs and relaxing at last!

ruky786 · 01/03/2010 19:01

thanks aussieng for replying i have been reading your threads for a while now and found it very friendly, and interesting.

Aussieng · 01/03/2010 19:12

Hi Ruky and welcome - it does indeed take a while to read! If you re-post your stats we can add you to the list or you can just cut and paste the last list on this thread and insert yourself.

starshaker · 01/03/2010 20:08

Well ive just had dinner and it was fantastic. Other people think im weird but i though it was the perfect combo. It was salmon, raspberries and goats cheese salad with an amazing balsamic dressing.
Whats everybody else had tonight?

vix206 · 01/03/2010 20:20

Look you can buy it direct here:

www.talesfromtheearth.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=66_72

a few places online seem to have them x

Chulita · 01/03/2010 20:31

I had the page for the necklace up and showed DH and he said it was 'vile'. He also said 'would you just be quiet, all you do is blither' and wandered upstairs...bad day at work then luv? I'll just get on with washing the dishes that I used to cook your tea, then put your washing on, make the bed that you'll sleep in tonight and put away the toys (for the 3rd time today) that DD has thrown all over the floor then... Grr...freaking temperamental men

cazzybabs · 01/03/2010 20:34

Chulita - that sounds like my dh and even more so post head injury.....

pamplem0usse · 01/03/2010 20:35

Mmmm starshaker I love goats cheese. I've been avoiding it though as I'm really confused about which I can/ can't eat.
I did gratinated baked potatoes with sour cream and chives and topped with cheddar.

bouncingblueberries · 01/03/2010 20:43

oh chulita buy it for yourself sweetie and stuff the grumpy miserable men! Sometimes, they just don't get it.

Here, have a doughnut...[passes mountain of sugared doughnuts bought fresh on way home from work]

Chulita · 01/03/2010 20:54

mmm, thank you! No wonder I've got a double chin already with all the cakes etc on this thread!
I'm going to wash up, tidy up and get myself to bed I think, I'm knackered again! Only a week til my 20 wk scan...it's going so quickly, it's crazy!
Goodnight all [toddles off to clean sticky doughnut sugar off teeth]

Doodleydoo · 01/03/2010 21:12

Been off for a while, so sorry not to catch up - what have I missed? Very sicky tonight like ms but not sure, hope nothing else......grim though had it for the past couple of nights.

ruky786 · 01/03/2010 21:22

hi aussieng thanks for getting back to me im new to all this so i would apreciate it if you could do that for me please?
my stats are 32 yrs old due 10/08/2010
once again thanks so much

vix206 · 01/03/2010 21:35

Ooh I'd love a doughnut

starshaker · 01/03/2010 21:39

I think as long as the goats cheese is pasturised then its fine. I bought hard goats cheese cos i had never tried it and had it grated on the salad. was delish mmmmm

neenz · 01/03/2010 21:41

I used pure vitamin E on my skin when I was pg with the twins - it is just a liquid vitamin supplement I got from a health food shop (you are supossed to eat it) but I just put it straight onto my skin (I read about it in a pregnancy book). I didn't get any stretch marks! It could work well for itching too.

It was me who didn't like an automatic. I have driven one in America and they are fine, it's just the fuel economy that puts me off. Hopefully the multimac will solve all my problems and I won't need a new car!

Ready to kill for ginger beer/cloudy lemonade and some Haribo Tangfantastics but DH is already in bed as he needs to get up at 5.30am. Can I be arsed going to Tescos (in joggers not pjs). Arggh..

girlsyearapart · 02/03/2010 08:06

elusive the only time I drove an automatic was in Australia when I was newly pg with dd2. I really didn't like it and hopped along the road- didn't hel that I had mil in the back being the very definition of a back seat driver.. even though she doesn't have a licence

The one we are looking at is a manual think I will test drive it wednesday and see how much they'll part ex my car for

marzipananimal · 02/03/2010 08:07

Morning all.
elusive I hope you're feeling better today.
I'm seeing the midwife this afternoon for my 16 week appointment so I've just had the joy of weeing in a pot (and all over my hand )
I'm a bit nervous - 4 weeks is a long time to wait between scan and appointment with no reassurance that things are ok. Haven't heard the heartbeat or felt any movement yet so hoping all is fine (it should be - I'm fat enough!)
Hope you all have a lovely day. It's sunny again! x

pamplem0usse · 02/03/2010 08:13

And another beautiful day.....
Elusive hope you're feeling better and Marzipan maybe the MW can listen to the heartbeat on a doppler at this stage???
