CADS · 19/07/2005 11:56

Hamster - thanks. ds is a little solider and hasn't suffered any ill effects. You would think he would be terrified of the stairs, but noooo. Glad your ds is getting better, it is horrible and heartbreaking when they are ill.

PS Haven't done the loo roll test either.

CADS · 19/07/2005 12:02

Beks - Unfortunately, dh would pass mums on strike with flying colours but I wouldn't mind 3 days of pampering and luxury. Shall we apply?

Twiga · 19/07/2005 12:12

Hi, hope no-one minds the thread crash but just wanted to say a quick hello to Tania2 - been ages since I've seen you on here. Glad that everything is continuing to go well with your pg - a wee girl, how exciting! I'm just counting down my last few weeks (am 33+6) and due at the end of aug. Hope the rest of the clan are fine, lol x

Hi to everyone else, hope you ladies are all keepng well and the heat is not too uncomfortable where you are!

novadandypowder · 19/07/2005 12:52

i've also just got some of these from Harry Duley. these are great if you still want to wear your regular tops/ vests but your belly is peaking out. Very comfy and lightweight, but make sure if you order they get your address right, or specify registered post, as the first lot went awol.

BEKsmum · 19/07/2005 14:43

Nova, have a great holiday, enjoy the break.

Cads, my dh would probably pass the test with flying colours too, although if I left him the ironing mountain to do he would fail miserably. We'll tell them we've been selected without actually going on the show and go off to a spa for a few days then shall we!

Ds is being entertained by nanny & grandad at the moment so I'm supposed to be doing the housework, but thoght I'd pop on here for a few minutes light relief Speak to you all later. Beks 23+2

rodeo1 · 19/07/2005 17:41

Hello all,

Hope everyone is well! Glad your feeling better hamster! Sorry to hear about your pains Beks and BOB. I do get those pains too but only when I over do it, must be crappy to have them constantly.

Cads, how's your battered and bruised boy?! Joe's comstantly covered in scratches, bruises and stings at the mo, always up to no good in the garden!

Great to hear from you Tania! Didn't realise you are in Australia, congratulations on your little girl I agree with Chacha - would be great if you could pop on a few times to let us know how you're getting on (and your full birth story in Nov!)

Have enrolled both children in the church holiday club today (also enrolled them in the Methodist activity club too!) to give me a few spare mornings in the holidays. Although I've got a feeling it's going to fly by! These weeks are going a bit too quick for me, haven't got anything prepared, can't believe she'll (or he'll) be here 12 weeks at the latest!!

Nova have a lovely holiday, we'll miss you! And I'm sure your puss's will be fine

Where have Chacha and Enthusia disappeared to??

Right going to get children bathed and bedded,

Speak to you later

24+6 x x x

KristinaM · 19/07/2005 20:02

Hi Laylas mum, glad you are Ok

Hey Nova - have a great holiday!

Well done on the holiday clubs Rodeo, keep them occupied.

And what is all this rubbish about not having anything prepared for the new baby??? YOU DONT NEED anything prepared, for goodness sake, you ahev two kids already!! Get a grip woman - you have been reading these magazines again, haven't you!!!

Do you have a few babygros, a place for the baby to sleep, nappies, some bottles ( if using them ) and a car seat? Then you are ready

Beks - the idea is that the visitors entertain Ds AND do the housework while you rest. Otherwise whats the point of them????

BEKsmum · 19/07/2005 20:37

Krisitina, to be honest I've been so lazy while it's been hot that the house was a tip so needed to get on and do it myself, to ashamed to let anyone else near it even my mum! - although she does constantly offer!!!

Rodeo, know what you mean about not being organised although I'm going to cheat & get all the clotes and bedding washed and ironed by a local shop this time round. So far I've bought one vest which has an L plate on it and say "give me a break I'm only learning" and my buggy and that is it!

Right better go & pay dh some attention, speak to you all tomorrow. Beks

ChaCha · 20/07/2005 08:09

tex111 · 20/07/2005 08:57

Morning gals, just popping in to say hi. Today is the last day of preschool so I'm going out and treating myself to a nice lunch. I think Tobes and I might end up killing each other before preschool starts up again in Sept.

Nova, love all the maternity clothes. There's a great shop at Bluewater called Cache Cache, if anyone shops out there. It's a bit pricey but I've been treating myself since this will probably be my last pregnancy. They have those belly bands too in different colours and patterns. I bought a red swirly one and love it!

We bought a new car! After the hot journey last week I told DH we really needed a car with air conditioning so we went out last weekend and bought one! I'm so relieved. I'm planning a trip up to Cambridge to see some friends. I've been putting it off because I can't stand the heat, even 70 degrees feels uncomfortable now. Thank goodness I'm not in Texas.

OK, gotta get the kiddo ready for school and then I'm off for some peace and quiet. Back soon!

BEKsmum · 20/07/2005 11:24

Morning girls, Like Tex I'm off to lunch witht he girls and then on to do a bit of shopping as need to get a Christening present for Sunday. Unfortunately Ben's pre-school has already finished so we'll be taking the kids with us.

Am feeling very up beat today as I have my scan tomorrow (at last) and to make it all the better my mum is going to come along with us so that she can firstly see the baby and then take Ben out once he gets bored of looking at bump. Dh has the day off so we might go and do something nice in the afternoon.

Just a quick question does anyone elses chest hurt? I fee like I have a chest infection but I'm sure it's just because bump is so high up but I can't remember wheteher I had these symptoms last time - 3 years seems like a life time ago now!

Chacha have a grreat holiday and enjoy being a lady of leisure when you get back.

Hope everyone else is well, speak to you all later Beks (23+3)

rodeo1 · 20/07/2005 11:26

Hi all,

No I haven't been reading baby mags! I haven't even bought one yet!! Need buggy, carseat, breastpump, somewhere for her to sleep, and clothes are all in bags in the loft!!! Had a friend who had a baby when she didn't even know she was preggers last year (had a full term 6lb baby girl ) so gave a lot of stuff to her, thinking I wouldn't need it again! And dp neice broke our buggy!!

Have a lovely lunch Tex! It's ds's last afternoon too so I've been making fairy cakes for their party this morning. The kitchen is covered in batter and icing sugar! (ds was 'helping')

Good to hear you're fine Chacha, Twinkle and Laylasmum.

speak to you all later,

25 weeks x x x

tex111 · 20/07/2005 14:15

BEKs, I've been having some chest pains but more that tight can't catch my breath feeling than real pain. If I set up really straight and take a deep breath it seems to help at the moment. I remember towards the end with Tobes I would cross my arms and kind of lift my boobs and ribcage with them in order to catch my breath. The pressure on my lungs is definitely building. Hope you're feeling OK and good luck at your scan tomorrow!

Rodeo, Tobes had fairycakes at preschool today too. His birthday is at the end of July so I took a birthday cake in with him today since he won't be there on the actual day - bought from Sainsbury's I might add. Very impressed that you're actually baking. They had a little disco too which sounds adorable. I had no idea the end of term would be so special but Tobes had a brilliant time.

BEKsmum · 20/07/2005 19:50

Evening girls,

Tex thanks for that I'll give lifting my chest a try, my tightness does does sound similar to yours, so that makes me feel better.

Ahhh bless, how sweet was your pre-school, I don't think ours do anything like that becasue all the kids finish on different days depending on when their sessions are.

Not too long to wait tomorrow Rodeo, my scan is at 10:20am & then I've got a kideny scan after that, so should be back early afternoon. I'll post & let you all know how I got on but we won't be finding out what flavour bump is.

Right better go as just sneaked on while mum does the washing up, speak to you all tomorrow. Beks

tessasmum · 20/07/2005 19:57

I'm starting to struggle for breath on occasions too. I can't remember it starting as early as this last time
I'm also getting nose bleeds ChaCha so its not just you. I do remember that from last time and think it is something to do with all the extra blood rushing round your body though I may have just made that up!

All this talk about getting things ready for the baby - we've been offered a Moses basket, does that count as being organised?

CADS · 20/07/2005 20:45

Hi All

Hope you are all well.
Just stuck on here quickly to wish BEKS good luck for tomorrow.
DH has been dominating the computer for the last couple of days, playing poker (something to do with the Sun) in the hope that he will back us rich.

Catch up soon

hamster · 21/07/2005 08:58

Good morning,

Had to borrow dp's joggers for work this morning. Too wide for mine, they stick in too much. I think I must've had a growth spurt around my middle over the past few days! Thankfully there is not really anyone around to see me at 4.30am in huge clown looking trousers!.....hmmm...I feel a small shopping trip is in order on pay day

Anyway, how are you all?
So glad it has cooled off a bit. I can actually sleep at night.

Chacha&Tessamum-I was told last time I was pg, that nosebleeds are completely normal, and they are indeed simply due to the increased amount of blood pumping around our bodies. Plus the hot weather doesn't help.
I'm suffering from a bunged up nose this time round, anyone else?

Chacha-have a good time...and relax

So tired, I am going to go and see if I can get ds to nap for an hour after his breakfast, so I can pass out! Very lethargic at the moment!

Have a good day everyone
xx

BEKsmum · 21/07/2005 15:25

Afternoon all, just a quickie to say that eveything at the scan was fine, saw all the important bits but didn't find out the flavour, so we'll all just have to wait and see.

I'm now completely confused as to when bump is due as they say I measure the right size for 25 weeks not 23+4 which gives me a date of the 3rd November!!! I've now had the 3rd, the 7th & 13th November and as I was 3 weeks early with Ben I think I'll just clear my diary from 20th October onwards and let baby put in an appearance whenever it feels like it!!!

Hope everyone is ok and that no one has been caught up in today's incidents in London, take care of yourselves & I'll speak to you all later. Beks

Diddle · 21/07/2005 16:26

beksmum - glad to hear your scan has gone well and bump is doing ok. still keeping an eye on you, no news from me yet, but i am 6 days late, not had a bfp yet though. fingers crossed.

tex111 · 21/07/2005 16:44

BEKs, glad the scan went well. I don't understand all the changes in dates. They eventually changed my due date with Tobes by three weeks. He was supposed to be 11 days overdue when he was born but he came out covered in vernix which I've heard shouldn't be the case with overdue babies. I had been charting and was sure of my dates too!

I think they just get so hung up on a baby's size but some of us just have big babies! They've already scheduled a second scan for Cupcake due to her size and I have a sneaky suspicion that they'll change my dates again.

ChaCha · 21/07/2005 17:01

Beks - Great news on scan! Hope that your dad is better and that your ds is well

Best get on with the packing. Love to all x

twinkle1 · 21/07/2005 18:57

beksmum congrats on the scan!!
diddle fingers crossed for a BFP for you. hope everyone else is well. Im off to N/east for a christening this weekend which should be fun
Kids break up tommorow so it will be chaos for the next 6 weeks!!! but at least i dont have to get so early and do the school run
