BEKsmum · 12/08/2005 20:19

Busy glad you had a good time and I'm really pleased that your soon to be sil has joined the club, here's hoping all goes well for them and that she doesn't feel too rubbish on her wedding day!!! By the way know what you mean about the hair, it's really irritating isn't it - no helpful suggestions to cure it though!

Well done Nova for pointing llouou in the right direction re the members list, I'm pants at that.
Ohhhh the scan sounds lovely, i know I'm old and senile but remind me do you know what you're having? I have recollection that you said you wouldn't be looking but I might be wrong. Please post some pictures up if you can we'd love to see them.

The wet nightie was a nice experience for you I bet!!! It's the oddest sensation isn't it - time for you to be buying breastpads me thinks oh the glamour of pregnancy!

Right off to look at Eurodisney, so will speak to you all later, bubs is making me feel rather sick tonight as it keeps doing forward rolls, the best one was just as I finished my dinner - nearly gave the whole lot back!!! Have a good weekend all. Beks

tessasmum · 12/08/2005 20:32

OK, its taken most of today to catch up - though there have been interuptions.

Welcome to new ones and glad to hear everyone is fine though no more news from Firstbaby.

For the most part we had a great holiday, lovely area, great campsite, good weather and the bonus of seeing my parents as well as my little sister. Also tent was fine to put up/take down/live in whilst 6 months pg.
Rather big bummer was that DH lost his wedding ring on Exmouth beach We've only been married for 2 months! It has been loose since we got married (he must have had swollen fingers when we bought it) but all he did was brush sand off his legs and it went flying. We hunted for ages but the sand was really soft and it probably buried itself straight away so us looking may have just made it sink deeper. Have left details with police and now have to do the insurance thing but that's not really the point. Thought DH was very brave about the whole thing and was determined not to let it take over the holiday but he was really upset

We did also have to deal with a vomiting toddler at 11pm on our last night and neither she nor DH have been great since we got back.
I on the other hand had a full dinner and have just finished eating crunchy nut cornflakes from the box - only stopped because they ran out!
My other thing is toast with marmite and apples, exactly the same as last time, I can polish off 4 slices of toast and 2 apples at a sitting and be looking for something else within an hour! Although at least I haven't gone for the Marmite crisps as well this time round, got through boxes last time

Very sensible advice from all the 2/3/4 timers on here as well. Believe me this may be my second time but I still have the panics at times. I loved the Vicky Iovine books too. A woman after my own heart - go, buy and use as your bible!

Think that better be it or I'll be rabbiting all night.

27 weeks (I think!)

novadandypowder · 12/08/2005 20:34

just a quickie as BB has started - pictures of baby are here . Dh has done the site so haven't looked at it yet but hope its ok

ChaCha · 12/08/2005 21:52

Nova! Unbelievable......
I am speechless. Must look again....

ChaCha · 13/08/2005 10:53

Nova - I am amazed by the pics of your beautiful babs!! Absolutely fantastic - you both must be feeling so proud. What a stunner eh?

I've also worked out your DH's celebrity status - am i clever or what?

goldenoldie · 13/08/2005 11:31

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, cute!

BEKsmum · 13/08/2005 11:36

Morning, Nova what a cutie, you must have been thrilled with these pictures, they really are amazing.

Tessamum what a nightmare for your dh, a friend of mine lost his wedding ring while out with mates one night and woke his wife up telling her he had done something awful, needless to say she thought he's been in a accident or had an affair or something so was ultimately very relieved when he said he lost his ring - a smart move on his part I think don't you! Hope Tessa's feeling better soon too.

Hope you're all out doing ineresting things with your w/end, my two are just off swimming while I do the housewok - oh the joys. Beks

llouou · 13/08/2005 11:52

Thanks, for the info on putting details onto members list. Have done that now but not had time to read through other members yet.

The images from the 3D scan are fantastic. Alot clearer and better than the two sets i have had. Is it possiable for all expectant mothers to have the 3D scan???

ChaCha · 13/08/2005 13:05

Hi lloulou (am not sure how that is pronounced - is it like (loo-loo?)

I just had a peek at your stats. There are a few more teachers here too, myself and Enthusia. I'm sure there is someone else but i don't think she's been on for a while - will refresh my memory and go through the stats. Did you finish work with the end of Term in July? I did

I think everyone can have a 3D scan but you have to pay for it. It's not on the NHS as far as i know but i could be mistaken.
Do you know what you're having yet or are you waiting for the surprise?

rodeo1 · 13/08/2005 14:51

Just a quickie - I'm at work at 3!

Ahhhhh, what a cutie, Nova! A girl I think!!

Tessasmum, what a bummer about his ring - fingers crossed you get it back

Well I've bee terrorised by a bloody great house spider this morning running over the lounge floor. I just can't relax knowing it's in here, I'm sitting with my feet off the floor and keep looking behind sofa cushions - aghhh! It better not crep up on me!

Caught Mr Mouse too, and will be taking him far far away later, he's currently holed up in an old fish tank with the lid firmly gaffer taped down - don't worry he's got food and water and a bed!

Right must dash! x x x x x x xx x x x xx x

Hi llolou BTW!!!

I'm on my own tonight, dp is out with his bro, it's nice to have a night in on your own once in a while isn't it?!

Watching Most Haunted at the mo, it's at Elvaston Castle which is a few minutes away from us! Not sure I believe it but it's so funny watching them (especially Yvette!) crying and cr*pping themselves every other minute!

Got a lovely chinese for tea, had to throw a little bit away as we couldn't finish it, and now I'm feeling peckish! Typical! Not going to fish it out though!! Not got anything snackish in either, tend not to buy it so I'm not tempted, but I could just do with some pringles, or doritos, oooh or a Ripple! Argh - stop it!!

Bub's is really tickling me at the mo, doesn't seem to give me big kicks - prefers to dig her(?) heels in and run them down the side of my tummy!

Night! x x x

Busyalexsmummy · 13/08/2005 22:29

rodeo1 · 13/08/2005 23:10

Ooh, I've just remembered I've got some Spagnola Ice Cream in the freezer so I'm going to scoff that and order some cute little baby clothes off the Vertbaudet website! How naughty! Well, while the cats away.......

ChaCha · 14/08/2005 10:12

Good morning!

Hope you had a quiet evening Rodeo...did the mouse come out to play?
I watched the repeat of Lost last night..quite enjoyed it but the PG woman who so SUDDENLY felt baby move when she hadn't actually swallowed the sushi yet had me in hysterics...too far fetched!
Could it be a yetti on the island?

How is everyone this weekend? I've been sleeping an awful lot again. Well, see you all later xx

rodeo1 · 14/08/2005 11:10

I'm supposed to be tidying up (dp, dd and ds are all at Karate) but thought I'd just show you an item I bought while on my ice-cream induced purchasing last night!

here!

Hmm, am I going to regret getting something so girlie?? Well if she turns out to be a he I'll send it on to one of you who has a girl!

Yes have caught Mrs Mouse too now Chacha, we're taking them into the country later (where they can be easy prey for various predators )

Hi Rodeo,

I tried the link but got the actual homepage. Wanna try again? It could just be me being typically duh!

It's quiet on here this weekend. I've just returned from the supermarket with the most awful backache..haven't really had this type of ache before, what do you do for backache in pregnancy? I suppose a warm bath would be a nice option but we still haven't any hot water (well not for bath anyway) so am still waiting for the big day! My birthday is fast approaching...sure hope I don't have this long awaited bath on my birthday..will never live it down.

Off to kill some fajitas. x

twinkle1 · 14/08/2005 18:01

Hello all.

When is your birthday then ChaCha? Mine's coming up too.

Having a quiet w/e here after all the excitement of the holiday. Out poking around shops yesterday but only came back with a box of mangoes and about 3 tons of bananas - can't resist a market bargain!
Today we went for a windy walk round Whipsnade - we live close enough to make really good use of an annual pass. Saw an 8 day old baby rhino which prompted lots of discussions about drinking milk from mummy. Followed by a discussions about willies - life with a 2 1/2 year old is never dull

Been turning mangoes into sorbet and chutney this afternoon, in between bouts of heartburn which seems to be back Possibly due to baby gymnastics going on below, things have been VERY active over the past 2 days

twinkle1 · 14/08/2005 18:10

tessasmum

rodeo1 · 14/08/2005 18:36

How's the backache Chacha, sorry about crappy link, if you type 3600105 in the catalogue number box it does come up, if you can be bothered now!!

Tessasmum, ds keeps saying he's going to 'suck my boobies'!!! Thanfully not in front of anyone! He is a bit milk obsessed though in general, get's through pints of the stuff!I have tried to tell him it tastes different and doesn't come out cold. Well at least he's not repulsed be the notion!! And just like you're dd, the topic of bums, willies, boobs, poo and wee is never far away!

Just waiting on a big chicken dinner, yummy, might treat myself to a ginger beer shandy to go with it! (Half lager, half ginger beer - it's gorge!)

Ooh Twinkle, bub's was breech a couple of weeks ago, was sooo uncomfy, just kicks to the bladder all the time. Babe hasc twirled round now though thank goodness, now getting the really tickly movements on the upper side of tum!

Right better get back to the stove!

PS released our 'visitors' into the wild today!

I meant ds doesn't say it in front of anyone, not want to do it in front of anyone!! Haha!

Backache was absolutely awful last night - I kid you not! I've never felt anything like it. Sleeping was a nightmare and peanut was also v.active so didn't get much in the way of shut-eye at all. DH spent most of the evening massaging my back/legs etc..which was great but it seems if i lie/sit in any position for too long i find it difficult to get back up, does that make sense? Have my 25week appt with GP on Thursday so will definitely have a moan.

Twinkle & Tessasmum - Peanut has been pretty active too. How can you tell that your baby is in breech position though?

Twinkle - How is your tiled floor looking now? DH wants to do the same but don't know if i can bothered with all the hassle. The kitchen lino has ripped as a result of the boiler (or whatever it is) that has been taken out and we are thinking of what to put down now.

Tessasmum - My birthday is 01.09. And it's my 30th!!! I want everyone to keep asking me how old i am now so that i can still say '29!'

Rodeo - I've seen the little outfit!!! Awww...it's so cute. Wow, I love it

anymore remedies for backache? am i going to be like this until November then?

Chacha

chacha,
floor is looking great!! we have laid tiles that look like slate and grouted them with a lighter grey grout. It is not too much bother it only took us about a day to lay all of them then they need to dry 24/48hrs then grouted which takes 2-3hrs then its all done.I laid the same ones in the conervatory and they r great hard wearing and easily washable!!! dd has painted them pink and coloured the grout lines in with a green crayon!!!(she is very creative) All of which came off without much trouble thankfully.
we had lino down but dh ripped a hole in that moving the fridge from garage to kitchen so he can start converting the garage into a guest bedroom. Why is it when im really pregnant we start theses things????? we have managed it with every pregnancy
ah well must go and do the ironing before it explodes out of the dinning room

Hello, I've had a bit of a busy weekend so not been able to post, but thank you for the oohh's and ahhh's over baby allen-turner (note how optimistic DH has put 'number one').

Twinkle - the sickness had never really left me, but i have started to bring breakfast up again (sorry if tmi!). Not too bad in the evenings, but my appetite has become really erratic - can only handle really small portions of dinner.

Rodeo - such a sweet outfit. DH has got a share in and Arsenal season ticket, and has spotted that the shop does baby wear, so you can guarantee that he's going to end up getting something whether it's a boy or girl.

Chacha - do you have a local swimming pool that you could go to, it may help ease your back until you get your bath back?

Well, went for a pregnancy massage on friday (they have a special bed with a cut out for the bump) and it was HEAVEN. Will definitly be going back once a month.

Have got some real bargains in the sales, and not all of it is maternity wear so it will still be wearable after baby is born.

Had to go and see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on my own last night, as i'd booked the tickets a couple of weeks ago and then DH discovered he had to work . I really enjoyed it, but probably best not to put a pg woman in front of a screen full of chocolate, as you can guess what i'll be eating lots of today

Baby is very active, and on friday was in a C shape with it's head by my right hip then circling round so that it's back was by my left hip, bum up and arms and legs above right hip (if that makes any sense at all).

Hiya all,

I am very interested in how you all seem to know what position bubs is in. I have no idea what so ever, I don't know what bit is kicking me or anything!!!! Is there something special I should be looking out for?

My weekend was lovely. Really busy on Saturday seeing old friends from Thailand before they go back and then lovely and relaxing on Sunday!!!!

Bubs yesterday was very active though, all day, don't think he slept a wink. Nice for DH though who enjoyed all the bouncing around!!!!!

Your floors sounds lovely twinkle - everybody is doing so much DIY now!!!!!

I just want our house to sell so that we can start looking for a new one, I love that part!!!!!
