Quiet on here today, must be because Nats busy

Tink - thats a really nice thing to do for your friend, must be a hard time for her.

essenceofSES · 19/03/2010 18:03

Just checking in between O's tea and bath time.

Playing - hope you're doing ok. Anything planned for the wkend or just chilling?

Tink - your poor friend! But seriously, will you be able to just go and look and not buy?!

Diege - hope J settled for you.

Wacky Warehouse was...fun! Not too crowded to begin with and O was quite happy in the bit with lots of soft blocks. Another time, I'll put him in the ball pit

DH managed to make it home from work before flying off to Ireland so we gave him a lift to Gatwick. He won't be back now til about 9pm on Sunday.

My mum's coming over to look after O tomorrow morning whilst I'm at work. I spoke to her earlier and as she was going shopping this afternoon, asked her to get us some milk as otherwise she wouldn't have any for tea/coffee tomorrow. She said she didn't know whether she'd be able to get herself any tea or coffee if she's looking after O! Will she really go from 7.30-2 with nothing to eat or drink?!
I really wonder sometimes and should maybe get someone else to look after O but my cousin is busy (and I don't like always asking her) and there isn't really anyone else that could do it unless I pay one of the girls from nursery. I think I'll see how mum gets on tomorrow...

Playingatmotherhood · 19/03/2010 18:11

Hi Ses - I'm ok, still feeling pretty positive. Got a busy weekend. Going to do something as a family tomorrow morning and then going round a friends house in the afternoon/evening for a Rugby BBQ!! Not quite sure how thats going to work with the weather?! Sunday will be digging over the allotment, we are very behind as we've been doing diy on the house and we really need to get things planted.

Glad O enjoyed the Wacky warehouse haven't taken E to anything like that yet.

How is it possible that your Mum won't be able to get a cup of tea. Surely she will have time to make one! Even if she doesn't want to do it when he is awake (although I can't think why) I assume he will have a nap at some point in that time period?

essenceofSES · 19/03/2010 20:47

He will have a nap but she doesn't want to carry him upstairs so he normally naps on her! I'm hoping we won't be needing her too much and that this is a one off

Starshinetiger · 19/03/2010 22:44

You're probably not around any more Ses, but do you have a travel cot? If so, you could set that up downstairs and your mum could put O in that when he falls asleep, then she gets to relax too and you know he's getting a good cot nap? Just a thought. Hope you've all had good Friday nights.

essenceofSES · 20/03/2010 06:02

Star - thanks that's a good plan. I'll get the travel cot out. I have a funny feeling she'll make some comment about not being able to bend down that far to lie him down but at least I've done all I can then!

Over the last fortnight, O has consistently woken up at 5.10am 12 nights (7 of them sleeping through!) I've therefore got into the habit of waking then too. This morning, he's still asleep! He's been asleep since 7.15 last night!!

Diege · 20/03/2010 08:28

Morning! Hope everyone is well and enjoying the miserable weather nice spring day. Well the bug finally got dd2 last night - literally up with her from 1.20am until, well, now really. Dh did his share too, though he's back in bed now . You know this dh/dp training business is sooo ongoing He may need bootcamp soon...
Hoping for a quiet one today, but depends on how dd2 is. We had planned a trip to the playbarn with a friend (thankfully unbeknown to dds as yet) but will obviously cancel if dd still not better (the alternative doesn't bear thinking about).
SES, it may be that you mum is just piling it on a bit with the stuff about not managing even a cuppa (just based on my mum...sort of, I'll be so rushed off my feet so you should be very grateful and possibly a little guilty ). If not though, the travel cot sounds a great idea!
PLAYING, your weeekend sounds good, esp the allotment digging. We had one once but gave it up when the dds came along as too much work (for us) to keep on top of it, with the jobs-worths leaving notes about how messy is was (it wasn;t!). Anyway, dh is digging a veg patch this weekend in the garden, though it is throwing it down at the mo.
Oh and my paint samples have arrived - 3 pots of pretty identical looking 'white' paint ; they seemed so diffeent in shade on the sample sheet! At least they have included a cute brush, so will try out this morning and deliberate over 'shirling', 'white lead' or 'linen'

tinkstoddleriswalking · 20/03/2010 08:36

Ooh happy birthday Freddie! How are things going KAYZ?
Well had a good 'post' today - received letter from Health authority saying my smear is normal . Mega phew!!! Good after nurse saying yesterday that I should be prepared to wait up to another 8 weeks for a result . All got letter saying dd3 has got into her first choice school, so all good!

Thanks TINKS . Must have been frustrating just 'window shopping' in Mothercare! Meant to say yesterday that I'm sorry for your friend - how is she coping? Kind of you to cheer her up.
Dd2 seeming 'ok' now, so we're going to risk the playbarn. If she seems poorly we'll just head straight back.
Quiet on here today!

tinkstoddleriswalking · 20/03/2010 15:03

Diege · 20/03/2010 19:32

Hi TINKS - yes, agree, no life . Love the garage, and also the track. Think I would go for the garage though if I had to choose. Choccy and products will be just what your friend would like I'd say. Is there any chance her dp/dh may come back? (that's if she wants him!).
Playbarn was good and all in bed now. Going to get a takeaway and watch a film - hopefully no one will wkae up to be sick tonight

essenceofSES · 21/03/2010 08:07

Morning!

Tink - you are v organised! May is a lovely time of year for your friend to have a baby

Diege - hope you achieved your sickness free night!

My mum managed fine yesterday. You're right Diege, she exaggerates. With DH not back til tonight, she's asked me and O round for lunch which will be lovely but I know there'll be lots of comments about how her back and shoulder hurt after her morning with O yesterday. I sound an ungrateful cow but she'll complain and then go off and do something she wouldn't really be capable of if she was in that much pain.

O woke last night at about 9pm still half asleep but with a v angry cry. My cousin was round and offerred to try and settle him. He wasn't having any of it though. I fed him and he settled after about half an hour but still sobbing in his half asleep state. Couldn't work out if it was a bad dream or tummy ache but he ended up staying asleep til 6am!

I had a lovely night sleep - I made up our bed yesterday with fresh bedding and had the whole bed to myself all night
Woken up with a really thick mucousy cold though. Fortunately all head cold and I feel fine except for continually having a stream of thick gunk from my nose (sorry - hope no one's having breakfast!)

Anyway, happy Sunday everyone!

Diege · 21/03/2010 08:51

Morning! Arghhh my prediction was right - dd1 sick in the night resulting in very little sleep all round! She seems ok now, so only dh left to get it . Of course I am now wide awake and while I had a chance of a lie-in this morning just lay there listening to dd3 have a tantrum over splot milk (literally)and in the end got up. Will be swapping with dh though when ds goes up for nap though - looking forward to starting The Book Thief (anyone read it? Friend says it's v.good)so will read if I can't sleep!
Need to write a lecture today and get washing sorted. Fell asleep during last night's dvd so will try and watch the rest tonight!
Dh is getting excited about n0.5 . He has been telling friends that it might be on the cards . I have decided that times not good now (in terms of work commitments mainly) but maybe late autumn (so I can be sick in Jan/feb break at work) or next spring. Of course, starting to ttc is one thing, actually succeeding may take months, even years. I have been lucky in that each time it's been first/first/fifth/first times re: attempts (if that makes sense!) but with the big 40 breathing down my neck, who knows!
SES, I understand completely about your mum - I have one from the same mould . YOur sleep sounds blissful btw . When is dh back?
Hope everyone's enjoying their Sunday - can't believe schools finish on Friday for Easter!

essenceofSES · 21/03/2010 09:05

Diege - sorry DD1 succumbed. Hope you manage to fit a nap in later along with the rest of your busy day!
V exciting about no5! It's v difficult to plan though isn't it? I keep thinking if we ttc May then baby will arrive around Feb 2011 but I keep reminding myself it's not that straightforward! Especially as still no sign of AF!

Right still not done breakfast so must get on!
DH back about 9pm tonight.

tinkstoddleriswalking · 21/03/2010 09:13

diege - exciting ttcing soon

hope all have good days

off to tesco

cantmummyhaveabreak · 21/03/2010 09:17

does you're school finish on fri diege?... i think and hope that ours finish on the 1st april... i've had it all planned.... and as DD1's birthday is the 9th we'd planned a day trip out.... so if it's not easter we'll have to do it on the 10th.... god- got me thinking now... haven't even asked at school and not sure where my holiday sheet is...

Off to my parents today... going to see my sis again, and see my parents too as not seen them in about 3 weeks...

and

www.elc.co.uk/toy/toybox-train-station/

essenceofSES · 21/03/2010 11:18

Tink -I like both Toy box train station seems v neat and I like train sets generally.

I'm just back from a walk with the two dogs and O on my back. Saw a lady who said that I had my hands full but "wait until your baby is walking and you've another little one as well" !!!????!!!
O now having a nap before we head off to mum & dad's. I should go and sort the washing or something constructive

tinkstoddleriswalking · 21/03/2010 12:32

hi ses cheers

the train set all stoors in the station it is a box

Diege · 21/03/2010 12:50

Hello! Just checked school dates after CANT-induced panic . Yep, sadly it is indeed the 26th for us that school(s) breaks up - for 2 weeks! Must try and work it out between us if we can get time off; bit of a pain as childminder costs £36 a day for each of them
TINKS, I also like both; maybe garage best at a push.
SES, you'll get used to the 'you've got your hands full'! I also get 'you must be mad' (nice)'ooh so you got your boy in the end' (yawn)..I know people are well-intended, but it does get a little predictable. I now and just let it wash over me...if we do ttc no.5, I am fully prepared to be the gossip of the village for the next 10 years .You must look very efficient with dogs and ds though
Must try and get some bits listed on e-bay this afternoon (I've written the lecture in my head )as in despewrate needs of funds!
