Afternoon everyone

Smithy welcome back ( I was Gyo) funny I was only thinking of you yesterday as always confuse MMM on here now with you!
Glad to hear you are settled in US. TIme really is going fast now.

Gruff- sorry about the doctorate. They are really missing out on a good candidate. Their loss I suppose! Sounds like you are kind of relieved about it in some ways, so not a full on disappointment.

Tink- will look at your links. Like your new name. Good to hear that DD2 is walking. How old was she when she crawled? DD isnt crawling or pulling up yet though will stand if we put her against the sofa....

Hi Diege, Cant (hope DS/DH enjoyed wrestling), Nat, Rugby and everyone else.

Kay- thinking of you.

DD is still not better really. She seems ok in her self and then she is sick again and is all out of sorts.Think the cold stuff is to blame for the sickness but its not nice for her.

Better go and tidy up lunch

tinkstoddleriswalking · 06/03/2010 16:00

she didnt crawl properley till 11 mnths.
from 9 mnths did combat style and pulled up.
she is very determined and strong!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/03/2010 17:49

Smithy- Hi, glad to hear all is well- i used to be glaskham!!

Tink- i love the red shoes, but they'd be way too hot for DD1 for summer!! I honestly can't fault doodles IME... but DD1 is very easy with shoes!!

Was up from 5am with DD1... not sure what was wrong, but she's a bit out of sorts still now- fingers crossed for a better night though as she's eating some toast for her tea right now... she wouldn't touch her lunch- just wanted BFing all day. poor mite.

DS & DD1 went to the zoo with MMM & my mum- seems they had fun... i did too, DD2 got a good nap this afternoon so i managed a mid-afternoon bath and a good relax in bed catching up with my soaps!!

Also seems The boys enjoyed wrestling, they left at the halfway interval thoguh as DS was too tired. They were home about 9.30pm... I was already asleep!!

tinkstoddleriswalking · 06/03/2010 19:43

cheers cant hadnt thought of that think i will stick with doodles

essenceofSES · 06/03/2010 21:26

Hello all!

Smithy - great to have you back. Love the new name too!

Gruff - hope you're not too disappointed about the PhD. Gives you other opportunities

GBL - sorry DD isn't better yet. I'm finding illnesses a big downside of nursery. O's on his second cold and there were signs up on Friday about sickness and diarrhoea going round.

Cant - hope your DD is feeling better too. Glad DS, DD1, MMM and M had a good time at the zoo

Diege - I'm currently sat in bed watching the Simon Cowell interview. Made me think of you

O had a full day with DH today as I was working and then went wedding dress shopping with SIL to be. Dress shopping was a big success - we found the dress. Gorgeous beading across the bust in quite a modern style with a more traditional A-line shape.
DH and O also got on quite well although DH said he was v tired

tinkstoddleriswalking · 07/03/2010 09:14

any thoughts ladies?

dd2 still has bad nappy rash!! pharmacist gave us thrush cream seems to be working.
shall i leave her swimming lesson tomorrow?

essenceofSES · 07/03/2010 09:32

Morning!

Was about to do O's breakfast but after sleeping 8-5 he seemed tired again and is asleep on me on the sofa!

Tink - glad the thrush cream is working. Nappy rash does often develop into a mild fungal infection. infection will thrive on moist warm environment so if it's not too cold, try and give her time with her bum open to the air and no nappy. I'd stick with the cream and if you want you can put a layer of Vaseline over the top to act as a barrier and block out moisture. There shouldn't be a problem with swimming as long as you dry her thoroughly afterwards. No risk of transfer.
HTH

Diege · 07/03/2010 10:12

Morning! Hi SES, good night there from O . Enjoyed the interview with SC last night - even dh said [through gritted teeth] that he came across as quitye likeable
TINKS, sounds like the nappy rash is responding. Ds also got it quite bad, though I think I was in part to blame though putting nappies on styraight away after baby wipes (ie, without drying the skin. Ok with sudocrem at the moment here, but have had it get thrushy with dds like your case. Ordered some more boden this morning - turn-up jeans and gypsey top for dd2, 2 pairs of shorties dungarees, t-shirt, trousers and twoelling jacket for ds

tinkstoddleriswalking · 07/03/2010 12:23

shall i go swimming or leave it?

dd2 has got dd1s cough now 2

great boden shopping

took boden parcel of capris to postoffice on sat.
cant wait to get exchange bits - clam diggers in aqua and pink

Diege · 07/03/2010 13:46

Hi TINKS! You've probably made your decision now, but I think that as long as a cold is above the neck (ie. not gone onto chest) it's ok to exercise etc (that's what I was told by GP). Whether it's worth it iof dd is feeling rotton is another thing though.
Out of interest did you exchange your bits using form with boden, or ask for refund for the things you didn;t like and then reorder capris?

Diege · 07/03/2010 13:47

I meant reorder clam diggers!

maxxymoosmummy · 07/03/2010 14:06

sorry not been on. was an early start yesterday with going to the zoo and that. nd stayed at my mum n dads last night. on the sleep fron ti have hd the best nights sleep the past 2 nights so hopefully on track again. thanks DIEGE
just waiting to catch up on estenders s missed some last week. DS is at his dads. so its very quiet here.

tinkstoddleriswalking · 07/03/2010 14:12

i used form diege and circled that i was exchanged then there is a space to write on what u want to reorder. they send you those items

i was worried more about taking her swimming due to her nappy rash!!

hi mm

Diege · 07/03/2010 14:13

Hi MMM - sounds nice and peaceful . Great going on the sleep front too - hopefully the start of some better nights.
JUst me and ds as dh taken dds out. Lovely weather but feeling very lazy so may stay in!

Diege · 07/03/2010 14:15

LOL TONKS, sorry totally misunderstood! Sure it would be fine with nappy rash as long as properly dried after etc.
On the exchange front, just be prepared for a slightly longer wait if using form...not much use after the event, but they've always advised me to refund then order what I want from scratch after I waited 6 weeks for an exchange! I'm sure you will be fine though

tinkstoddleriswalking · 07/03/2010 14:17

cheers have exchanged one before and didnt take too long

maxxymoosmummy · 07/03/2010 14:21

ye nice weather here too, but in a very sleepy lazy mood, haha. so just on the couch under my duvet.

Diege · 07/03/2010 14:25

That's good TINKS, hopefully the same this time for you .
MMM duvet sounds good. I don't know whether to force myself to go out . Will see how ds goes...sometimes easier out and about than having to carry everywhere due to whingeyness!

maxxymoosmummy · 07/03/2010 14:48

ye it can be easier being out at times cant it. think were having a day in tomoro unless DS decides otherwise haha.

Diege · 07/03/2010 14:58

Agree! I've just looked down at what I'm wearing and decided it's not worth the risk of bumping into someone I know . Have decided to put on (break open the cellaphane) on my davina dvd - should keep ds entertained - so will be doing something worthy, while staying indoors

Rugbylovingmum · 07/03/2010 15:36

Hi all,

we've had a busy weekend so this is my first chance to sit down and catch up with the thread. Yesterday we went to Lotherton Hall and walked around the gardens, woods, deerpark and bird garden. I was trying to get DD to look at the birds, holding her up and pointing to the flamingos, parrots, ducks and owls etc but she just kept looking at my finger and didn't seem to notice the birds at all . Then in the afternoon we met some friends in town for coffee. Today we have been wandering around York deciding where to look for a house to buy.

Diege - good luck with the davina dvd. I was going to try to do davina on the days I don't have a workout on the 'biggest loser' game I have for the wii but the workouts are surprisingly hard and I've been aching too much to try a dvd .

MMM - yah for lazy duvet day!

Tink - did you go swimming? Hope you enjoyed it if you went.

Ses - glad DH enjoyed his day with O (and did you feel a little smug at how tired he was? I think DP forgets how hard work this full time parenting lark is so I always feel better when he has her for a few hours and is shattered ).

Gruff - sorry about the doctorate but it sounds like you have some good alternative options and yah for being able to ttc soon. I hope you're not too disappointed.

essenceofSES · 07/03/2010 16:10

Hello Rugby
Your day yesterday sounds lovely. I have the same problem with O when I point to things - he just stares at me or my hand!
I did feel a little smug about DH being tired but DH is being a great help now I'm back at work. If he's here (which he is about 80% of the time) he always helps get O up in the mornings.
Routine is that O wakes around 5.30-6 and comes into bed for a feed lying down; DH gets up whilst O is still feeding at around 6am and then DH gets O changed and dressed whilst I get up and showered. DH then goes to work whilst I do a final BF and sort the dogs out before I head off to work.
If he's home in time in the evening, he normally helps out then at least 50% of the time as well.
As you can imagine, I'm feeling quite lucky!

Diege - did you entertain DS with Davina?!

MMM - I'm glad you started sleeping better

tink - did you go shopping?

I'm just cooking roast chicken, roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots for tea. I like it if the 3 of us all sit down together on a Sunday for a meal around 4.30/5pm. DH nand I then have some lemon meringue pie for pudding once O is in bed

Diege · 07/03/2010 16:15

Hello! Yes, ds suitably entertained with Davina - me less so but good to GET IT DONE and did quite well with the abdominals too so pleased. Must try to do at least 3 times a week.
RUGBY that does sound a lovely day yesterday - maybe we can arrange a york meet-up again when it gets a bit warmer?
SES, sounds like you and dh have a good balance there - wait till you have 4

Right, better get washing in - first day for ages it's been outside on the line!

essenceofSES · 07/03/2010 16:18

I have washing out on the line too! AIBU to be excited that it's a brand new washing line?! Our current rotary one is where our planned extension is going so I asked DH to get one that pulls out from the wall for the patio.
As for 4DC, much as there's a part of me that would love 4, I think we're running out of time, DH has said 3 max and I just don't know how you cope!!

Diege · 07/03/2010 16:24

Trust me SES, by the time you've got used to the dynamics and work of 3, 4 really doesn't seem like much more! So are you ttc-ing soon for your no.2 then??
And no you are very rightly excited about your new washing line. We have inherited a rusty, sagging rotary but it is cemeted into the ground so seems like I'll have to put up with it..Just pleased to get the washing outside (though there are 3 loads drying inside, and 2 baskets pending downstairs...full laundry bags upstairs and an overflow 'corner' in spare room .
