lol mlic!why didnt i think of that!? its funny how much i talk about this thread in real life though! i'd be lost without you all cause its great to be able to just talk about any concerns and excitement aswell as im sure people in real life get sick of me talking about babies all the time!

viksam · 25/02/2010 21:26

I totally agree KK there are lots of things i say on here that i would not really talk about in real life. Its liberating i think, i tell my husband im talking to my lady friends, i recon he is jelous.

spidershavearrived · 25/02/2010 21:31

Hello all. I hope you're all managing to keep afloat in all this rain - where is it coming from it's incessant here in Dorset.

Having the best evening - DP still at work so didn't have to think about dinner so had pancakes with sugar and lemon, got the laptop and the remote and no flicking channels when the ads come on! - Bliss

Got the cleaning done today - although impossible to do the tidying with a toddler and managed to sneak a 20 mins snooze in whilst DS was sleeping - left me wanting more though!

Nearly the weekend again - whoop whoop

spidershavearrived · 25/02/2010 21:40

MILC thanks for advice on the pushchair - I will have a look at the weekend.

viksam · 25/02/2010 21:43

Ohhh spiders where are u in dorset, im in Yeovil, not many of us down in this part of the world!

stac14 · 25/02/2010 22:25

mlic and viksam did you get the bounty pack at your booking in app? In that pack it was all crappy leaflets. But there was a token for the mum to be bounty pack that you get from boots, asda or sainsburys. If you didnt get it go onto the bounty website and register, then mail them to explain you didnt get the vouchers and they will post them to you. Some areas get emmas diary stuff, which is crap lol

I have been using mn since we started ttc as i have polycystic ovaries and i didnt know anyone in real life who had it so dp is used to me being on here lol. I also use facebook and bebo so my laptop and i are best mates lol.

Totally agree that we can say far more on here than i would say to my friends. I am so glad i have you all to talk to. X

Hey Viksam and Spiders I'm from that neck of the woods, lived in Yetminster til I was 8 then moved to Preston near Weymouth. Long time ago now though and living in SE London - not so pretty where I am!

I love this site and thread and get to learn so much, my DH thinks I'm on it obsessively but agree sometimes I feel he and other people around me would get fed up talking baby whereas here it's what we do!

Scan tmrw at last - sooooo hoping we get to find out the sex. Don't think I'll get much sleep again, ho hum. DH says we're not allowed to tell anyone but I figure I can let my 'cyber friends' know and he'll never find out, otherwise I'll burst!!!

Appt at 9am and rest of day off, maybe getting some mat clothes as starting to show at last but will post news tmrw.

stac14 · 25/02/2010 22:59

looking forward to your news flexab

viks if you don't get hold of a tiny sudocreme and I do, I'll post you mine. I've still got loads left from the one I got with DD so don't need another!
spiders, I'm in Dorset too but I think I must be in the driest/least snowy corner in Britain cos it's not been too bad round mine!
Ooh yes! Let us know flexab, we won't tell a soul.
How are you lot all up after 9pm? The only reason I had a 'late' night last night is cos the ILs phoned to ask if they could stay tonight so then I was trying to sort out the back room for them.
Right, got to rescue DD from under the sofa, what goes on inside a 15mth old head is anyone's guess!
Happy Friday everyone

Wonderstuff · 26/02/2010 09:18

Morning all, Friday at last - and sunny here!! DD absorbed in Show Me Show Me, should really get dressed and take her to the park in a bit. Got dancing this afternoon, bit of a nightmare as my bus friendly pushchair is with mil - so either struggle with heavy pushchair on bus or long walk with dd at the other end.. Decisions decisions.

DD slept through til 7.30 this morning which was really fab. Did get up super quick when she announced from her room she was going to the toilet on her potty (she isn't potty trained, but we have been encouraging her to think about it) Bless her she was sat with pj's round her ankles on her potty with her nappy still on.

memphis83 · 26/02/2010 09:19

hi yes i hope to find out what im having, everyone else doesnt want me to find out but i am very impatient! then after scan the other half is taking me baby shopping!!!

stac14 · 26/02/2010 10:34

hi all, thank goodness its friday yay lol. If i'm honest would love a nice cold beer tonight but i'm refraining till after mondays scan.

Whats the plans for the weekend? I'm going for lunch with my friend today, then maybe shopping tomorrow, theres footy sunday so wont be going out then. Still cant think of any names for lo, need to get it sorted lol x

Sunny, Wonderstuff? I've forgotten what the sun looks like, here in Yorkshire. We had snow at the beginning of the week and it's been chucking it down for the last couple of days. Bleh!

Woke up this morning to the weight (and smell) of two soggy kitties, who had left little muddy footprints all over my nice clean bedsheets. Anyone got any ideas how to train cats to wipe their feet when they come in the house??

Oh well... At least my work allowed me to park in the carpark on site for two days this week, so I didn't have to slide in along the icy pavements each morning. My work are bending over themselves backwards for me at the moment, which is really nice of them.

It's Friday! Friday is good in my world, as it means no work tomorrow!! DH has generously said we can have fish and chips for dinner, which is definitely something to look forward to. (Though mine will be the much tastier pineapple fritters and chips.)

I'm glad to hear all the scans have been going well! I've seen some of the pictures posted, they're so cute! My scan isn't until next Thursday, I'm looking forward to it but also a little nervous in case they find something wrong. Got the results for my triple test though and my risk of Downs was 1:6600, which has made me a little more relaxed.

I'm lucky it seems, I got Emma's Diary and Bounty here! Collected both of the first packs, got the same Peartizer, Nappies, Sudocreme, etc and endless leaflets that others are describing. Mostly useless, but I won't object to the free stuff.

Been busy getting organised lately and signing up to various places (Boots & Tesco parenting clubs, etc). Already started to gather all the various baby related equipment needed. I've ordered the travel system and cot for April, and the moses basket, stand, mattress, sheets etc are all either with my in-laws (they were in during the day to take receipt) or on their way now.

Am I a bit ahead of myself? There just seems to be so much to do, I figured I'd get started while I had the energy!

viksam · 26/02/2010 11:17

spireal I have exactly the same problem with my cats they are driving me nuts at the moment, im getting through tonnes of dettol and the dog doesnt help either. I really dont know if i will like this when the baby comes, i love my cats but i HATE the fact that they go everywhere and am most worried about toxoplasmosis and the like. My house is open plan too so not like i can shut them out or anything........it really is making my unhappy.
Chulita My mom had a tiny sudocrem for years and i always wanted it, im mad on minature stuff, dont suppose she still has it but I'll ask her. I need to get my ass into gear and join these baby clubs etc. My MIL has said that every time they go shopping they are throwing in some wipes or some cotton wool or something just as usefull, thats a great idea, i might start doing the same. Im off today and have caught up on a bit of sleep but had to drag myself out in the end i have loads of cleaning and vacing to do before my friend gets here. Planning a trip to Weymouth flex tomorrow, I'll say 'HI' to the seaside for u!! Probably end up buying our first baby clothes! Quite looking forward to it now, think im just about ready now. wonder how cute she was on her pot with her nappy on, bless! stac i have been on here forever too but really lost interest in the infertility threads, they made me feel worse than i already felt, no disrespect to them but there is only so much you can wallow in despair before you start to feel like you will never come back again, this is the first thread i have really enjoyed being a part of, hope we stay together after popping lo out!?!

stac14 · 26/02/2010 11:28

viksam i was on the thread for clomid, the girls are great and supported me loads so i'm still on with them to. Loving the freebies so get joining people lol

spireal i am dying to get started but dp wants to wait till after the scan dont know why lol. Mine is monday, i'm nervous but excited x

viks, I'm the same with mini things, love 'em Don't need two of the same though! I'm off to Dorchester tomorrow and then on to either Weymouth or Swanage for fish 'n chips - we might cross paths and never know, how strange!
spirael, I'd like to buy stuff but just can't face tripping over it til July so we'll wait!

kkfairybrains · 26/02/2010 12:03

spireal we already have buggy and steriliser got and they're here in the house.everything else we'r either being given eg. moses basket, and evrything else people have said they'r buying.my mun has already bought loads of little clothes babygros and sleep suits and she's stocking up on nappies wipes even breast pads! so we literally have nothing else to worry about except a rain cover for buggy and the base for the car seat! its nice and really generous of everyone but bit of an anti climax too cause we have nothing left to shop for!
wonder that is so sweet!

spidershavearrived · 26/02/2010 13:19

Good afternoon Ladies, Viksam chulita flex I'm in Poole, we had awful rain yesterday!!

Hope everyone is having a good Friday. My DS projectile vomited this morning - he's never done it before it went all over the rug, himself and me, my face, hair and clothes - v lucky he wasn't a sicky baby but it made me feel a little uncomfortable but have been reassured, if a little patronised, that it a bug and it happens all the time in toddlers!. He's fine in himself so am hoping that it's short lived....

beckyg123 · 26/02/2010 13:20

Hiya,
My internet is down on in lunch break at work today but was home all day yesterday and felt lost without being able to come on here!!!

wonder your DD sounds so cute!!! I cannot wait to have those little moments in my life!

I suspect my family have been buying things but not telling me! think we might get a few baskets of practical items when LO arrives! Can't rely on it but will be seriously useful i imagine!

Got the pram ordered yesterday! Took 2 of my nieces with me coz they wanted to see it so felt really excited when they loved it too (they are 6 and 8 ). They are so excited about getting a new cousin- I feel so special to be giving them this gift- is that crazy? or just hormones?
