DesperateHousewife21 · 22/02/2010 20:37

Congrats on the scans becky and orange you must be so pleased

Hope my scan goes as well as yours did

Chulita · 22/02/2010 20:45

viks, it's annoying isn't it? By the end I was so sick of my massive bump but now I'd like to look pregnant rather than fat! One of my friends is only 3 weeks further on than me and she looks properly pg Don't take it to heart at all though, we all carry our LOs differently

randomama · 22/02/2010 21:00

hey ladies sorry not been on here for a bit not too much to say. welcome newbies!
well i also had my scan today and saw my beautiful, bouncing, waving... daughter! well, at first all we saw was her vagina, which appeared smack in the centre of the screen like a Brownie Guide salute as soon as the sonographer put it on my skin!! She'd just asked us while I was pulling down my trouser, if we wanted to know, and we said yes, and then bamb! there it was instantly.
but yes then we got to look at the rest of her and she is energetic and strong and quite big (100th centile on some of the graphs!)
I have an anterior placenta as I'd suspected so that's why I haven't been feeling loads of movements but yeah it's all good and she's super healthy and I'm buzzin! she waved at us and DS saw it on screen and waved back at my belly CUTE!!!!
awww grinning my head off!!!
happy monday ladies!
x

Chulita · 22/02/2010 21:03

Hee hee! at your DH waving at your belly, I hope your DD was peeking through the belly button!
Congrats on a good scan!!

stac14 · 22/02/2010 21:46

viks my sis said that the other day, dp thinks i have a bump she said i look fat, dont know why people feel the need to comment at all, just ignore it hun

Brilliant news random lol at dd flashing at you, so cute bout waving. Ds was with me today so he heard the heartbeat and was well chuffed. How have you been?

Hey chulita how have you been? Whens your scan? X

can't wait to hear about everyone's scans as they happen. it's so magical. it blows my mind!
for those struggling with constipation, i'd recommend apricots. apparently they're really high in iron too, so two birds one stone etc

aw so happy to hear about the brill scans ladies! and exciting hearing the heartbeat stac! was in stitches laughing and you getting flashed like that randomama!glad your feeling more energetic too dh! feeling great myself today! and even better tomorrow because im finally getting my hair done! yay! haven't had anything done with it since november! the joys of being a hairdresser you spend all your time glamming everyone else up and never get the chance to get your own done! even my half blind grandad commented on my roots the other day!
getting a nice bump myself to! absolutely evryone saying how neat i am though and then i come home to visit yesterday and my mother said 'oooh getting big now.god your gonna be huge by the end of it' eeeeeehhhh thanks for that! bought myself a few new tops today too.just need to get a pair of black skinny maternity jeans now and thats my wardrobe for the next couple of months sorted! (i say that now but give me a couple of weeks)!
oh and glad you got cleared out vik!xx

kkfairybrains · 23/02/2010 00:28

oh tsc must have skipped your post.so glad dd is home. im sure the spotting was to do with the 'antics' and as long as lo is still moving about im sure its fine!!

violetbubbles · 23/02/2010 07:40

Cogratulations on your scans becky, orange and randomama

And glad to hear your daughter has returned tsc.

I'm in a bit of a rush this morning - will check in later xx

beckyg123 · 23/02/2010 07:57

orange and randomama so glad scans went well too! i had the best sleep ever last night- must just be relief!

On the topic of people commenting on size- i've had a few comments on how big my bump is and people saying i can't only be 20 weeks! My mum said yesterday that we will need to get a baby gym asap she thought she was being funny but i'm too sensitive just now!
I asked the midwife about my bump size but she said its absolutely fine! everyone is different.

I'm working today then have nothing on tonight- was going to go to aquanatal but think i'm going to sit on my bum and watch tv and crochet a square for baby's blanket

Jojobil · 23/02/2010 07:57

Congratulations on the scans! Rando your scan sounds really fantastic Can't wait for some pics and more news. I've been looking at nappy options and very confused. With my DD I have tried for a few months different biodegradable nature Moltex and so on and so on and they gave her a horrible nappy rush and leaked badly.... Are washable ones better? Got to drop my DD to school and will check in later.

Morning all great to hear from you tsc and that dd1 is home, you must be so relieved.

kkfairy lucky you gettin your hair done, im waiting till mid march then it should be done before lo arrives if i can bend over the sink lol

becky think we're all the same with being sensative at the moment hun, people think its ok to say your getting bigger. If we said to a friend she was getting fatter they wouldnt be happy, buggers! Glad you slept better huni.

jojo i doubt i will be able to use washables, like tsc i am not the most organised i also have a dog that would happily steal the nappies so life would be made much harder.

How is everyone today? Hi violet hope your well. My backs aching today so hanging about with my pillow, anyone else doin anything today? X

kapars · 23/02/2010 10:24

Congrats on all the scans ladies. It really is the best feeling in the world isn't it?
It is a total high.
I got a date through for another scan at week 34 to see if my placenta moves as at moment it is low-lying and could need c-section. At least I will get to see lo again.
and welcome nixter congrats on your pregnancy.
I've got this week off work which I am very happy about! I'm going to visit my parents from tomorrow for a few days so I can see all my friends and family up there and show off my bump.
Oh I haven't thought about nappies yet and still haven't bought anything at all! Very unorganised.

beckyg123 · 23/02/2010 11:41

Oh stac i never even considered the dog when thinking about nappies!!! That could be a HUGE factor
Hope your back is better soon- the pillow is great for getting posture sorted- althogh my physio did recommend a towel rolled up under waist when lying on my side to stop spine falling down- that might help?

kapars very you are off work this week! Have a great few days away

TSC you must be excited and nervous all at the same time- hope it all goes well at the group.

Chulita · 23/02/2010 12:25

jojo there were a couple of posts about nappies further up the thread. I could go on about them but I'd bore you all silly. Try the nappy topic on MN too. I find they're more reliable than 'spozzies (far better poo containment) and I don't notice the extra wash, it's not as much hassle as I thought it would be.
I'm looking forward to my scan, not til the 10th though so a little wait for me!

stac14 · 23/02/2010 12:41

thanks becky i was using the rolled up towel while sitting on the settee but it was bugging me lol need to persevere! Hows yours been?

kapars where do your parents live? Will be lovely to have a few days break.

chulita it feels like when we were waiting for the 12wk scans doesnt it? This week is dragging in at the moment lol

Chulita · 23/02/2010 12:46

I know! DH will hopefully be coming to this one too so he'll get to see Finlet. He was all surprised today when I said that we're almost halfway there already He was talking about me being pregnant in 6 months and I was like...erm, in 6 months we'll definitely have another baby - he was so shocked This pregnancy (so far) has gone quick but counting the days til the scan is pretty slow!

stac14 · 23/02/2010 13:09

dp cant wait till next week either, and think its just hit us both that lo is nearly hear, it has gone quick. Hoping dp has a weeks holiday next week so we can do a little shopping lol. Have you bought much? I read 2nd trimester is the best time to do it as your meant to be less tired x

OP posts:
Chulita · 23/02/2010 13:16

Haven't bought anything except a cheap car seat. I actually do need to have a think about what we need for this one, haven't given it much thought (except the endless 'do we need a double buggy or can we manage without?') I've got so much more energy now than I did last week, long may it last!

stac14 · 23/02/2010 13:19

i had loads over the weekend but think its gone for now due to doing loads lol. Has dh felt lo move yet? Dp hasnt but i felt it kick my hand last night so hoping he will soon x
