Nope, but I haven't felt much movement anyway so hopefully in the next few weeks it'll start being a bit more active (and then I'll be whingeing about how it never stops kicking )

orangefizz · 23/02/2010 13:57

Afternoon, think I have managed to upload my scan pic, LO seems to be sucking hand!

On the nappy front, afraid i'm going to stick to the disposables, i did get a trial pack of reusables but didn't get round to using them...

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/02/2010 15:49

Hello everyone, got back from week's skiing on Sunday and just tried to catch up with posts, but it's taking too long, so sorry if anyone replied to me before I went and I didn't reply.

Congrats to everyone who's had scans. Mine is at 22 weeks - grrr, is that normal, not 20 weeks? - and not til 11th March.

I didn't ski on hol, in fact was going to do a bit of cross-country or snow-shoeing but in end got a bit frightened/tired so just walked/ate/slept. Was v envious of DP and his boys skiing though, it got quite boring at one point.

If anyone still interested in constipation (I know you all are!) - All Bran. It's amazing. If you can't face the sawdust texture throw a few raspberries or strawberries on top.

Have bought a lovely wooden cot from a colleague who was selling his cheap - even though may still be a risk, he was getting rid of it. Was quite exciting when it arrived yesterday, but it's now packed away under a bed until summer!

Have had a tiny bit of movement (actually, a bit when our flight was taking off on Sunday, not surprisingly) so have stopped worrying every hour about not feeling anything. Was supposed to see MW this aft but she was called to a birth, so have to wait another week to hear a heartbeat.

That's all my news, I think.

orangefizz im with you on the nappy front, too many reasons not to for me i'm afraid. I'm on my mobile so not saw your pic yet will have a look when i put laptop on x

Irishfairy- Congratulations on your girl, is this your first baby?

flexab23- Ideal! What a great swap, bike for nappies lol. What type are they? I used totsbots with ds1 but didn?t bother with ds2 as I personally found it all a bit too much hassle washing them all, especially when out and about and having to carry dirty ones with me and finding trousers that actually fitted over the nappies, they were fairly bulky! I tried it though, so proud of myself for the first year at least!

Kapers- Ive been wearing the tubigrip on and off, tbh Im not really getting any positive effect from it and when I sit down the bub is obviously feeling restricted as it starts moving about like mad. Im feeling the whole situation is getting me down abit, like yourself have been in/close to tears at moments and having to plan stuff more now like how much walking I have to do, if there are car parks closer to where I need to go, parking on the end of a bay so I can get the door open anough to swing my legs out?aggh

nixster28- welcome to the board. There are many avenues of support-there?s a lone parents board on mn too.

Congratulations on all of you who?ve had your 20week scans and sympathy for all those of you who are constipated! It?s not pleasant is it. Apart from the early weeks I?ve not had any this pg- touchwood!

Had my 20wk scan today, everything normal and tried to find out the gender but baby was sat with its nether region in my pelvis so- impossible. Lady said she couldn?t see any boy boys, but it was so unclear, so trying not to get my hopes up that it may be a girl glad all is well though and it was rather amusing seeing it yawn whilst being scanned. Think I should explained to the sonographer why I looked so sour faced though, lying on my back was sending shooting pains through my buttock and down my leg it was agony but I was trying so hard to keep still. Ah well another surprise for july lol

Chulita · 23/02/2010 17:15

Good old DH, he came home from work to see me sat on the floor helping DD draw and he said 'You're so good with her, I couldn't be a SAHD, don't have the patience'. It was so nice to know he realises it's not just one big party all day!
Anyone else get pains ... erm...kind of hard to explain, it feels like there's a bone right above where my clitoris is and sometimes it feels like it's going to snap in half. Very painful, happens when I walk too fast/run or stand up with my feet too far apart. Any ideas? It does really hurt at times...

Chulita · 23/02/2010 18:03

Ok, that would be my pubic bone then sorry, complete brain fart...either that or I've got 'clitoris' on the brain...

Please calm my raging paranoia please!!
I read on the Bounty website if the movements decrease to consult your doc/mw, but it didnt say from what week onwards, when should you start feeling movement on a daily basis? Do you think im worrying about nothing at just over 19 weeks?? Ive been feeling very strong movements recently so I know it can.
Argh I just want my scan now Ive got another week of this worrying!

Chulita · 23/02/2010 18:31

Nope, I am soooo frigid at the mo - I hate it but I reeeeeaaallllly don't want sex at all. I was the same with DD, pregnancy just turns me off completely and I find it very frustrating. Can't even climax with the 'rabbit' which really sucks Maybe it's just playing on my mind though, who knows?!
My DH wishes I was a raging sex fiend though, poor man

berberis · 23/02/2010 18:38

desperatehousewife i feel your paranoia - went through the same thing last two weeks. my movements were quite strong and then faded at about 19 weeks, then have started up again about two days ago (20 weeks). when they went away i was panicking but was about to go on hol then was on hol so couldn't see mw, but everyone i spoke to told me it's totally normal, baby could have been towards front of tummy for a bit then moved around eg behind placenta or hiding at back, where you're less likely to feel. please try not to worry, i know that's easy to say and i felt same. when is your scan? have you called mw for reassurance?
x

berberis · 23/02/2010 18:40

ps stac holiday was ok, just wish i could have skied or it was somewhere else eg where i could join in. i don't mind being on my own a bit, but every afternoon i had to amuse myself which was a bit lonely! weather was nice and sunny though, and snowy mountains v pretty
x

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/02/2010 18:42

Thanks berberis its always nice to hear from someone who has been through it before, my scan is next Tues. No I havent called mw cos I keep thinking im just being silly and then feel what might be kicks but not 100% Do you think I should call mw/doc to get it checked?

orangefizz · 23/02/2010 18:42

chulita i get that pain too - apparently is a symptom of SPD, happens when i walk a long way, stand on one leg, or turn over in bed...

desperatehousewife I don't know as this is my first and I have no idea when to contact mw really, but I reckon call in a few days if you don't feel anything, but if it's only been a day and you've had faint movement, then that sounds totally fine!

Chulita · 23/02/2010 18:49

eek! Don't want SPD thanks! It's been hurting all evening though, even when I'm just pottering and sitting here it's aching
dh, I haven't felt any kicks for aaaaages but then it's still a very little person so I reckon in the next few weeks it'll start up properly. I keep fighting the urge to buy a doppler!

berberis · 23/02/2010 18:49

tsc kick charts sounds a brilliant idea! i think i have a lazy baby too. s/he is definitely like me anyway, only seems to be active in the evening, and fast asleep in the morning, bit of a night owl!

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/02/2010 18:50

Yeah I thought they must mean towards the end tsc, I think I will see what happens tomorrow as I have been quite active today so maybe just not giving it a chance to settle. If I feel nothing at all tomorrow ill go to the docs on Thurs, I have a lovely doc who will prob be more than happy to reassure me.
Thanks lovely ladies

mylife yeah my placenta is anterior, they put that on my notes at the 12 week scan, also when it does kick I seem to feel it most on the right hand side so wondering if placenta is more towards left side.
Thanks for giving me an exact week its annoying when they say to be concerned if it doesnt move but then not tell you from which week!

chulita dont want to be the bearer of bad news but your pains sound the same as my spd pain. I have definately overdone it as my hip is aching at the moment, if you see the physiotherapist quickly they can help you with exercises. Ours is a self referral system

orange your pic is soo cute, cant wait to get mine

dh21 try not to worry huni, some days this one is active as hell others its not doing much, think they get tired just like us. Yesterday when mw was checking for the heartbeat lo was kicking at the dopler but I couldnt feel it, very weird lol

tsc totally sympathise about the not hearing the heartbeat thing, I crapped myself yesterday, luckily my mw wasnt a daft bitch who made me suffer. She also said she would have had me scanned to put my mind at ease, but the mw at 16weeks wouldnt check for the heartbeat at all as she said its hard to find and she couldnt guarantee me a scan. Really think it depends on who you see doesnt it? Bet it doesnt fill you with confidence having her attending your home birth. How did your group go?

glaston glad your scan went well, sorry your in so much pain hun, when are you back at the physio? Mine told me to rest as much as possible but its very hard to do when you have a kids to run around after and a house to run. Mw told me to go back next week if it hasnt settled down, not keen on the tuba-grip idea from what you and kapars have said

mlic hope you get a good nights sleep hun, I am knackered but managed an hour today
