Pixie Just unpacked some BEAUTIFUL girls clothes given to us by a lady with twins. Now I want twins. Just so I can dress them like little matching dolls....Fancy a pair of gorgeous white with green trimming / green with white trimming summer dresses? No? I'll have to get me some twins then....

hi all, have been lurking...
congrats evitas great news and glad emlou you are back and gearing up for Thursday!!
drskid and BPM one dr described wind as similar to colic (ie you can see why babies cry) at this stage in pg, cos there's not much room for everything so it can be VERY painful!! I'm back on the Movicol for the moment in the vague hope it all gets things moving and stops the pains... they are no fun and particularly when you have a 2yo who decides at that moment to burst in and harangue you!!
I'm with everyone on the DH not getting it quite right thing... I mean, in fairness, he can't win - he bought me some LUSH sanctuary stuff for valentine's, this is the man who gets up at 6 to walk the dog, empty the dishwasher, feed the animals and make a cuppa.... and yet god help him if he rollsovernoisily in the night.... or tries to kiss me...poor dh. agree though, the 9months pg, childbirth etc etc do quite even things out

Anyone else VERY hot...? burning cheeks...can't cool down...am awaiting results back from GP in case it's a UTI but very odd.

right am tucking into the Sad episode from Lark Rise the other week. back with tissues later

DrSkidaddle · 15/02/2010 16:07

lol mummyelk - my DH also gets in trouble for rolling over noisily in bed and god help him if he dares to snore....

sorry to hear you are also suffering from digestion-related cramps - do you need to get prescribed Movicol or can you buy it over the counter?

pixie - fingers crossed they will hang on until 1st March...

mumbot · 15/02/2010 16:33

Ohh mummyelk yes I'm very hot too, I keep having to open all the windows, even when it's snowing outside, it's all the time rather than hot flushes, but guessing it's down to the baby, extra blood volume and squidgy bits you get when pregnant

Spent weekend at DP's Mum's and have been doin various bts and pieces today so this is my first chance to back-read a little.

Firstly, Welcome to the World babyEvitas! What wonderful news! And, oh my, this is really real, isn't it? We've 'begun'. Hope you're doin well evitas - enjoy lots of snuggling.

I just ordered a babybjorn babysitter balance (in black and red ). Anyone have any 'real life' experience of these bouncers? They get fab reviews, and I really like that they are designed to suit baby up until about 2 years, but can't help wondering if I'd have been ok with something a lot cheaper.

Not really anything else to report. Oh, we don't really go in for the whole 'flowers/card/overly gushy romance' of V-Day, (mainly because we believe if you love someone you don't need a special day to 'demonstrate' that...) but we popped out for dinner last night where I actually plumped for the glass of prosecco included in the valentine menu rather than swapping out for a soft drink. We did still buy each other a gift too! I'm a lucky girl - I love my little clutch/oversized mulberry purse to match the bag I got at christmas. Last year I 'dressed up' for him... but it was just too comical to contemplate this year; I really don't think stockings come across as 'sexy' at this stage of pregnancy

Oh, pacific my kids went to centreparcs with their dad at christmas and seemed to have a great time - so make the most of the dc/dh being occupied and entertained... maybe with a spa visit .

Gotta jump in the bath. Sleeping very poorly indeed and am feeling a bit achey and 'nasal/sinus-y' Hope a soak will help both.

AfriBaby · 16/02/2010 05:38

Ladies, PureeandPearls seems to need some advice - see the Childbirth Thread (I can't do links), it seems her induction failed. I don't have any advice to offer her, but maybe just a quick 'hi, thinking of you' could help too.

TakeLovingChances · 16/02/2010 07:23

Meh. Turns out all those lovely 'contraction cramps' I was getting the other day were just from having a runny tummy. In my excitement to meet Baby C I had guessed that the runny tummy was me gearing up for childbirth, not just a random sore tummy that anyone could get.

Tummy is back to normal now (yay!) and the cramps have gone (boo!)

My DH was tucked up in bed early last night as now he has a sore crampy tummy, and as far as my science GCSE taught me: there is no way he could be pregnant. So it must just be a lovely little bug making us ill.

Pixie I'm thinking of you and your little twins, hope you can hold them in as long as you need to... until half term and your birthday are over.

Rindercella · 16/02/2010 08:09

Morning everyone... huge congratulations to Evitas & welcome to the world to her DC Gosh, we really have started now...!

Manda, we have the Baby Bjorn bouncer and it was absolutely fab! Looking forward to using it again with DD2. We uesed to take it everywhere with us (folds flat, so very transportable) and DD was always very happy in it. I know it says it's also suitable for 2 yrs +, but tbh DD grew out of it at around 9 months old. She got to the stage where she would climb over the back of it, or at least try to, so we put it away for awhile. Brought it back out when she was older but by then she wasn't really interested in sitting in it. But, overall it is just fabulous and well worth the money.

However uncomfortable I'm now getting, I am hoping this baby remains in my tummy for the next 3 or 4 weeks (am 35 wks tomorrow). Am hoping all the other babies behave themselves too and make an appearance when they should do!

Rindercella · 16/02/2010 08:12

Sorry, meant DS not DC when welcoming little baby Evitas!

ilovegreenbeans · 16/02/2010 08:30

Ah, welcome to the world baby Evitas!

MummyElk- that Lark Rise episode needs to carry a hormone warning for pg women! I sobbed and sobbed....

Not much also to report here. About to wander over and say hi to P&P- I was so hoping she's have a babe in arms by now.

Arcadie · 16/02/2010 08:41

Phew. You're back.....

Off to find P&P on childbirth....

Thanks for your support everyone. I didn't want to trouble you all with my misery so didn't post to this thread, since this is supposed to be a positive thread and I'm somewhat lacking in that department at the moment. I'll keep you posted.

Welcome Opalfruity! I'm glad you're due late in the month as everyone else seem to be due before me (15th) Last week for you at work, well done. I'm not working now but I did in my first PG and it was really tiring towards the end.

Yes a first baby is of course special!

Also thinking of you P&P, hang in there, hope that baby of yours comes out soon!

Manda - my nephew in sweden had a baby bjorn bouncer, they look pretty cool. Dressing up? We had valentines dinner at home both wearing pyjama pants.

I've started to sleep badly, wake up a lot to go to the loo and wake up early in the morning and can't go back to sleep. Not looking forward to broken sleep for x months...

Rindercella · 16/02/2010 11:06

P&P, sorry you're having such a tough time of it. Lots of positive thoughts to help you & BabyPuree. I know it's not the done thing on MN, but please accept a big from me.

Welcome Opal Good luck with your last week of work.

IWCAS, sorry you're feeling so rubbish -hey have a from me too And at that spider

I have just read Evitas' birth story on the antenatal thread & boy, did I have a cry! It just made everything seem so real, and really brought back the beautiful moment when I first met DD. Can't believe that in a few short weeks I will be going through it all again.

BelgianMummy · 16/02/2010 11:19

Opalfruity - welcome!

P&P - sending out positive vibes your direction. It won't be long now, whichever way!

IWCAS - have you got the norovirus thing? If so, it will hopefully be over very quickly (it was for me)... full-fat coke without the gas seemed to be the only thing I could keep down, and at least it gave me a sugar rush. Or it may be the onset of labour ....

Manda - I have the bjorn seat as well (it is very popular in Belgium). I love it. One of my friends and my cousin have borrowed it for their DCs so it's had lots of use, but it still looks like it's new. My DD was in there for about 9 months too (we took it everywhere as well).

My DD (2 year old) seems to know something is about to change and has become VERY clingy. On top of that she's a little ill (threw up yesterday and horrible stomach cramps and runny poos), which is making things worse. Thankfully I am feeling relativly good, apart from the usual complaints of backache, insomnia and just being huge.

Pingpong · 16/02/2010 11:27

oh dear lots of frustration all round on the thread
P&P I've posted on your other thread - thinking of you.
I was all set to do a bit of catch up last night but no Mumsnet! How distressing!
The night before last I had a really unsettled night and lots of baby squirming and odd twingey feelings and then later on yesterday I convinced myself that baby had moved from being head down to transerve. I can't feel the head near my pubic bone at all now (despite being 3/5th engaged at one appointment). I was dithering as to whether to call the MW or not but held off as I have an appointment later on today. Transerve at 38w+5 is surely not a good thing!
Then during Eastenders I was getting really sharp twinges so announced to DH that I thought things might happen tonight to which he looked really distressed and wailed noooooooo he'd just done 8 night shifts in a row and was looking forward to a proper nights sleep in our own bed !!!! Anyway twinges didn't come to anything although I had another uncomfortable night and moved out the marital bed at 3am for some night time reading.
I've been bouncing lots on the birthing ball and hoping that baby will shift.
I also have real difficulty in walking now. I feel like an old granny. I don't remember this from last pregnancy. I was out walking the dog the day before I gave birth and this time I'm struggling just to get to the shops for basics like bread and milk.
DH is off today and has taken DD and dog out for the morning and I'm going to get my arse off this sofa and do some house cleaning nesting before my MW appointment as my mother comes on Thursday and I can't wait but she would be disgusted at the state of my house so need to do a burst of cleaning and then I can sit back on my ball and bounce and let her help me get through this last bit of pregnancy.
IWCAS hope the sickness passes, the maternity leave gets sorted and the spider doesn't freak you out too much!
TLC I don't think you have long to go now
manda hope nasal/sinusy thing doesn't get any worse.
hope those of you with school aged children are coping with half term.
Hope that those of you with DH/DP that 'just don't get it' with regard to the nursery or other household things that need done now get sorted too.
pixie hope the twins hold out til past half term and even better past your birthday but you might be truly fed up by then and change your mind.
Surely those of you still working must be getting pretty close to mat leave starting - even you pacific
Our nappy business is about to go live! We had hoped that the website would be finished by the end of October and definitely didn't plan for it to go live the week of my due date but ho hum that's life my friend/business partner is just going to have to be superwoman for a few weeks!!

ummmm naive first timer here - had some odd pains last night - very sharp stabbing pains across my bump but mainly to the right.. something to worry about or get excited about? Gone now, but lasted for a few hours. Didnt need to breathe through them, they werent that bad. Any thoughts? Baby definitly has dropped further over night - I felt her wriggling her way down 36 +5 btw..

ICWAS youve started a trend - I cried in the NCT class when we were talking about father figures yesterday. My father is lovely, but DH father is a rotten dad, left him at 2yrs and spend visits in the pub with Dh in the car with pop and crisps.. and he still sucks now, to the point where he doesnt know Im pg because he just isnt interested.. I think I cried because DH will be a fantastic dad

P&P thinking of you - how frustrating!

DRSkid and Caitni hows the driving going?

TLC get well soon - and DH.

waves to everyone else and hello to Opalfruity
