Congrats Pjbabe, Natifeb and tinkerbug!!! Boys, boys, boys, how sweet!

Well, I HAD A SHOW this morning which DP and I are very excited about... does this mean my induction booked in on Sunday night still holds? MW said it could be another couple of weeks ??? Well, not really as I'm 40 + 8 today!

Had a very uncomfortable night with lots of twinges and TMI alert, very constipated! And now have strange burning sensation... ooer! ...

Very, very excited

AbsB · 05/03/2010 10:50

Ooh, hello IC just saw your post (mind a bit foggy and overexcited)... I will definitely be joining you on the pn thread next week...

I know Madrid can get really cold at this time of year... so can the whole of Spain! I hope Rosie is wrapped up warm!

TheOldestCat · 05/03/2010 11:19

AbsB - I had a show at 7am, baby born that night. I was 40+9 and my midwife had also booked induction and thought it could be a while. So fingers crossed for you!

Congrats to all the arrivals.

AbsB · 05/03/2010 12:21

That's great to hear TheOldestCat... DP and I are really hoping this is it! I feel more than ready for it and am having lots of different pains and twinges down there. Someone said they thought it might be a boy and would be out in time for Match of the Day tomorrow

stressheaderic · 05/03/2010 17:33

Hi AbsB, well it does sound like things are moving, I'm excited for you! I think we were the same due date, so I can't believe Bethany has been here for two weeks now and you are still waiting!
The day I started off I was RAVENOUS, ate a whole Margarita in Pizza Hut, then went to the loo lots and lots all evening, the twinges began in my sides and back, turned to actual back pain, and then crept round the front...
Best of luck - it's such a special time, I swore we'd only be having one and already I'm thinking about a brother or sister for her in a couple of years...
I'll look out for your announcement

AbsB · 05/03/2010 18:15

Oh hello stressheaderic... great to hear from you! I am now having contractions every fifteen minutes that started during the weakest link, lots of twinges and general weirdness, this could be it! Glad to hear you're getting on well with motherhood and already considering another one! Think I'll wait a couple of weeks before I even think of it!!!

DP off to put petrol in the car, that would be funny if we broke down on the way to the labour ward.

fiziwizzle · 05/03/2010 20:46

Go go go Abs! And huge congrats to all the new mums . I have just managed to catch up on the thread for the first time since my birth announcement. I can't get over how much TIME these little monkeys take up! It is like she is a time-stealing black hole.

Good luck to all those still waiting for their babies... They WILL come in the end, in their own time! Some just take longer to cook, and next time, I will add a fortnight to my due date so that I can avoid the daily 'haven't you had it yet's...

Now have to get dinner so no time to catch up on the pn thread but that is my next port of call, when I get a moment... Hopefully sooner than in a fortnight .

InmaculadaConcepcion · 06/03/2010 06:56

Hah, yes - funny how we're far less prolific on the pn thread! (Except for me - but I tend to post one-handed while bf and I'm doing LOADS of that at the moment...)

Abs - good luck - this could be the one!!!

Yes, stressheaderic, I'm already thinking about adding a second too. Are we gluttons for punishment or what??!

BabyGiraffes · 06/03/2010 21:20

Just thought I'd drop in again to say congratulations to everyone who had their babies, and a huge hug and best wishes to those still waiting to have their LO. Must say that four weeks in, I cannot imagine not having dd2 around, although dd1 still seems surprised every morning that the baby is still here .

scoobyd00 · 07/03/2010 09:37

Well Henry David finally turned up yesterday at 0155 12 days overdue, weighing in at 8lb 6oz. Labour started at 2100 on thursday so it was a bit of a gruelling marathon but both myself and henry have come through it unscathed. The whole family are not catching up on well earned sleep.

Abs - I hope you're labour went/is going well. I'm so pleased that neither of us had to be induced!.

scooby

InmaculadaConcepcion · 07/03/2010 09:47

Congratulations, scooby!

News of mawbroon...

ClimberChick · 10/03/2010 21:20

Hi All,

I did go into labour on the day i posted (3rd), she was stubborn and didn't come until Fri 5th 18:25, despite midwife telling me she should be out by thurs nite. Very tiring in the end. On the plus side, the sleep deprivation meant i haven't felt as tired since the baby arrived as i though i would (already well practiced).

We named her Esme (Esmerelda Ruth) and she weighed 6lb, 12.5oz coming in 8 days late.

Apart from being long, it wasn't too bad actually. It felt like when your drunk, and you can only remember flashbacks the next day. After over 24hrs stuck at 4cm, had a ARM, two hrs laters hit transition, with a 2 and half hour second stage. Ended up with a 3rd degree tear, and she was a back labour. Also had a asthma attack on the gas and air (and needed a nebulizer) which i think set things back quite a bit. That meant i had to go without G&A, which was a shame, as it was amazing. In the end made do with a reduced shot of diamorhine (as i'm only 5foot). hmmm, this makes it sound a lot worse than it was.

6 days later, things are going well, breastfeeding seems to be nicely established, just hoping it lasts.

Oops, this was meant to be a short post

InmaculadaConcepcion · 11/03/2010 11:59

Congratulations, ClimberChick - Esme, very sweet name!

AbsB · 11/03/2010 19:53

Hi everyone, I'd like to announce the birth of Maisie Patricia born on March 7th at 3.45pm weighing 8lbs 10 oz. She is GORGEOUS!

Went into labour on Friday with really strong contractions, three every ten minutes that died down to one every 10 mins on Saturday morning. Went into hospital Saturday night crying with pain, spent the night from hell on an antenatal ward in ABSOLUTE AGONY having been given Diamorphine, and by early Sunday morning was only 3cm dilated but moved to the labour ward. I started on gas and air which made me really stoned, and the pain was so intense was begging for an epidural by 7am. Midwife and DP were BRILLIANT and after the epidural set in, I felt very relaxed and happy until I started to push at 2pm which is when I was fully dilated. Second stage was slow and I was given a scan showing the cord was wrapped around her neck so she was quickly delivered by ventouse and episiotomy at 3.45pm! The stitches are painful but bearable and I have HUGE ADMIRATION for all those women who can do the drug free natural childbirth thing because I have never ever experienced pain quite like it!!!

Sorry this is really rambling but I've had about eight hours sleep since last Friday! She is gorgeous, we are completely in love with her and have established breast feeding but our world has been turned upside down!!!

Who is left on this thread, and please someone send me the link to the pn thread as I am now officially EXHAUSTED!!!

GuernseyFrench · 12/03/2010 17:20

AbsB here is the link for the pn thread
