...now the "Crazy Baby Ladies"!

Had the idea to start this thread because, after getting my BFP on Monday, it suddenly dawned on me that I was going to lose contact with a lot of lovely people. I feel sad every time anyone leaves (though obviously happy for you that you've got your BFP) and thought this might be a nice idea, so that we can continue to keep in touch. After all, we've been through a lot together, haven't we?!

Also, I felt a bit out of my depth on the other threads, where it seemed like most of the members had already had children. There didn't seem to be a "first-timers" thread on here. (Unless I missed it!)

So here goes!

Oh and totally missed that Fulham Welcome to the world Lily!!! Woooo first frolicker baby!!!

Spirael · 10/04/2010 10:10

Congratulations, fulhamgirl! I'm glad everything seemingly went ok, or at least ended up well! Will be waiting for the full story once you're recovered enough to come tell us. Not to mention pictures~!

I hope things turn out ok for you and LO, Aly. Will be keeping my fingers crossed on the 19th for you!

Nothing much to report here today... Had my 25 weeks MW appointment yesterday, got the appropriate forms for claiming the Health in Pregnancy payment, woo! Finally got my MAT1B form too, so can now prove to my work I am really going to be taking maternity leave.

My blood pressure is still nice and low, my pulse is surprisingly healthy at 81 and Gadget was entertained by kicking the doppler off my stomach every time the MW tried to measure the heartbeat! I think after about the 6th time, MW decided that there was evidently nothing wrong with a LO who could kick like that.

Just picked up my Baby Bjorn Bouncer from the delivery office. Not too much baby gear left to obtain, now! There's a good deal on the Baby Bjorn Bouncers at Amazon.co.uk at the moment, if anyone was thinking of getting one. Normally around £100, down at £67ish now.

NovemberAli · 10/04/2010 10:18

Congratulations Fulham! What a surprise for her to make an early appearance! Hope you, Mr Fulham and baby Lily are all doing well

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time of it Aly, hoping you get some good news soon.

Bunny I found that was the best thing to stop my nausea (eating little and often) - never let yourself get to the point where you're hungry!

Glad to hear the doctor was able to help Hermya

Have felt the first few flutterings over the past week so Little H is making themselves known!Have only felt them very low down though as am member of anterior placenta club too (Hi Spirael and Chance!)Am fast approaching 20 weeks and scan on Friday!

kkas · 10/04/2010 12:35

congrats fulham and little lily! can't wait for photos and all the details! wish you both a quick recovery from the birth!

aly sorry you are having to go through so much. we are still thinking about you over on the frolickers thread!

claireinthecommunity · 10/04/2010 15:13

Fantastic news, well done fulham and hello little Lily (thanks for the tip off kkas)

I echo what kkas has said aly x

Hello everyone else, hope to be with you all soon.

aly323 · 10/04/2010 15:33

Fulham, sorry I had somehow missed the birth posting! OMG, Congratulations!!! Lily Ann is a beautiful name and I'm certain she is an absolute beauty too. She just couldn't wait to get out here and start her own adventure!

Thanks for the support everyone. I'll post again when I have news. And, obviously, I'll be keeping an eye here for more good news!

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/04/2010 15:40

Congrats fulham that is amazing news!! Hope you and baby are doing well, dont forget to post pics when you can!

WorrisomeHeart · 10/04/2010 15:49

Many congrats Fulham, fantastic news!! Can't wait to hear the birth story and see pics.

aly So sorry to hear the diabetes is so bad - will keep thinking good thoughts for the 19th.

bunny never letting yourself get hungry is really important - it made a big difference to me. And the smaller portion thing helps too. BTW loving your image of Mr T plotting! He sounds like Stewie from Family Guy....

Hermya hope you are feeling a bit cheerier now, how long are you having off from work?

chance love the sound of your yoga - mostly the cake bit! There's a class down the road from me so I must give it a go..

fudge It's great having baby dreams isn't it? I think I've had about 3 now and they're always sooo vivid! I wake up almost missing the baby IYKWIM..

Spireal Oooh BabyBjorn bouncer! I'm really lucky in that a friend is giving us hers because I just couldn't justify the cost but they look fab and have such great reviews. You'll have to keep us posted on how the LO likes it.

November so exciting about feeling the baby move, I can't wait for that - good luck for the scan!

Have had a lovely day wandering the shops - and buying baby clothes! Am buying 6-12 months stuff mostly though because all the summer stuff is so gorgeous I can't pass it up, even with a winter EDD!

luckyseven · 10/04/2010 17:37

Hi girls last week I popped over to this side of the fence to ask to be on the future grads list and you already had me on there!

Well .. maybe i can now graduate as I tested on Thursday and got a pale pale line and the digital on Friday am came up with the magic words 'pregnant 1 - 2 weeks'.

Completely ecstatic and a little shell shocked as i had just resigned myself to it taking a year and it just worked out!

I went to my lovely GP who was really excited, i am really early on as i ov'd on CD9 and mt last AF was Saint Patricks Day so and prob only 3 ish weeks and according to her working out wheel i am due 22nd Dec! yikes.

Will read through the thread tomorrow to get to know you all more, i loved the frolickers thread and hope i will love it here too!

fudgecat · 10/04/2010 18:29

welcome to the thread luckyseven has it sunk in yet?

luckyseven · 10/04/2010 18:35

thanks fudgecat nope! dh said that outwardly i was more excited about a win on the national earlier but this news is so huge for us i am struggling to take it in!

fudgecat · 10/04/2010 18:39

It does take time to sink in, im going to be 12 weeks next week and still sometimes "forget"

bunnygirl80 · 11/04/2010 00:40

aly sorry to hear that you're still having a rough time. I will be keeoing my fingers crossed that you get good news at your scan.

luckyseven welcome to the grads You might find that you're further along than you think as the working out wheel is based on oving on cd14. It will take time for it all to sink in

worrisome I love family guy, as does DH. I even made him a Stewie cake for his birthday! DH is firmly convinced that our LO is just like Stewie - plotting and schemeing already

I love winter baby clothes - they look so cute all bundled up in snowsuits. It's a shame that due to being in the upside down part of the world I'm actually having a summer baby

I was talking to my mum about 3d scans as we have a friend of a friend who is a sonographer and will do them for free if you smile at her nicely! My mum's response was that she's not sure if they're a good thing as it would be such a shame to find out you're having an ugly baby before it's born Sometimes I wonder what exactly is going on in my mother's head

WorrisomeHeart · 11/04/2010 09:43

bunny am LOL at your mum, thats so frickin funny! But at least with the 3D image you could see whether the baby had a Stewie-size head and opt for an elec c section early!!

lucky Congrats and welcome aboard!! Great to have you here!

aly Don't underestimate the power of positive thinking!!

I don't think I've told you guys this yet, but my twin sis found out that she is pregnant a week ago - so she'll be about 2 months behind me! Very exciting although I was a bit grr at first and then got over my sulk and was happy for her. (It's a twin thing - it was nice to be the only one doing something for a change..) Anyway, as she lives closer to bunny than me we've just spent a lovely hour on Skype showing each other what we've bought and what prams/cots etc we're going to get. Such a shame she is so far away but at least when we look at moving back to NZ (probably about 5-8 yrs time) the cousins will be nice and close in age!

felicityFlick · 11/04/2010 15:05

Hello All,

Just popping in to say Congratulations to fulham on the first frolicker baby! What fantastic news!

Glad your scan went well heryma and hope your starting to feel better soon after your visit to the docs.

Glad you've told your mum bunny and that she is happy and excited! That must be a real weight of fyour mind.

Love to all, especially aly- we're still all thinking of you on the other thread

xxx

Hermya321 · 11/04/2010 16:39

Hello all!

Well I've spent this weekend mostly in tears and having varying moments of panic. This has really come out of nowhere, although I suppose after the past couple of months something was bound to give sooner or later. My friend is going to come and spend a few days with me and I'm going to go back to the Docs next week and see what they say. I don't like this, but I know that in the long run it'll be good to nip it in the bud now. Life is sometimes very problematic and gets in the way of things doesn't it. Lovely weather though isn't it.

lucky Welcome to the thread and congrats!

worrisome I don't know, I've got to go back to the Docs this week and go from there. I do need to take some time to sort my head out.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 11/04/2010 17:36

Just catching up with the thread - feeling sick and knackered is interferring with my ability to MumsNet!

Congratulations to Fulham on the early arrival of Lily. Sounds like she may need a bit of extra help as she's starting small and early, but SCBU can do great things and I'm sure she's being looked after. Hope all is going well and that you are enjoying getting to know Lily.

Congratulations to lucky - welcome aboard.

Aly really hoping that you little bean hangs on and that you get good news on the 19th.

worrisome - lovely news about your sister. It will be good to be able to compare pregancies (and at least you got in there first!!).

Hermya, hope your anxiety can be controlled. It's sensible to get to the docs and see if you can check it before it gets too acute. Also great that you've got a friend over. And you are right, it is a lovely day and you don't have to carry your burdens and axieties alone, so I really hope and pray that you don't get too down and the time off and counselling work.

Sorry I haven't caught up with everyone. I am at bit quiet at the mmoment but, like spirael have been lurking with intent. I'm having increasingly longer patches of wellness in between the sickness, so am hoping that the MS is starting to tail off and I'll start blooming before long. I passed an exciting landmark yesterday when I got to 10 weeks and the bean graduated from being an embryo into a fetus! I really want to start letting my family know, so am waiting impatiently for my scan appointment to come through. Once we've got that first picture, I can start telling the world!!

WorrisomeHeart · 11/04/2010 20:01

Hermya oh sweetheart, sorry you're feeling so rotten. But as you say, much the best idea to get a solution now. Do you think it could be the hormones making it worse? I know it's not going to be the only answer but it may be that in a couple of weeks when you're past the first trimester you may start feeling a bit better. I hope having your RL friend with you helps and don't forget us FF friends are all here for you too.

Yorkshire glad you're having patches of feeling better! And so exciting about the 10 week milestone!

I have to say that today I have felt frickin' brilliant!! Guess I must really be past the first trimester now - I feel full of energy, happy, and even the horrible eczema that I've had (on one of my eyelids - I've been looking like Lady Gaga has got half her makeup done!) is feeling a lot better!
Could this be the (whisper it..) blooming stage??? It might have helped (and sorry if this is TMI) that DH and I had some fab lazy sunday afternoon 'us time' today - first time in ages that I've felt up to it!!

Gosh I am sharing a lot today, sorry all! Hope you are having a lovely Sunday too..

fudgecat · 11/04/2010 20:33

bunny lol at your mums comment on the 3D scans If all goes to plan we are planning on going for a private 3D scan at about 26 weeks

aly its nice to see you have added your EDD to the list keep thinking positive thoughts and remember you and the little bean are in all of our thoughts

worrisome congratulations to your sister, is this her 1st?

hermya poor you have you made the doctors appointment yet? I hope having your friend over helps a bit, when do they arrive? for you

Yorkshire 10 weeks eh time is flying by at the moment! I can?t quite believe I have my 12 week scan on Friday

worrisome couldn?t you just have got DH to mow the lawn instead hehe

I have had a nice day today, we went to my parents and had a very nice lunch sat out in the garden. It was very odd to think that this time next week they will probably know that they are going to be grandparents

Yuck Monday tomorrow - grrrr

CurlyCasper · 11/04/2010 20:39

Just spotted the news about fulham. Congratulations! Hope all is okay, especially as Lily wasn't meant to be arriving until the end of May . I really hope you are both happy and well. Puts things into perspective after I spend today whinging about how long is left and not wanting any more aches/sleeplessness. Take care

bunnygirl80 · 12/04/2010 00:13

hermya Sorry to hear you're struggling at the moment. Hopefully your doctor will be able to help you out, and some time off work will do you good to.

Worrisome That's great news about your sister. And lucky you on reaching the blooming phase

If I find out this LO has a head like Stewie Griffin's then I will definitely be booking a cs

Yorkshire congrats on reaching the foetus stage. Hope your MS continues to ease off

I had my first baby related dream last night - I dreamt we had a little girl but that I was so out of it after the birth that DH had to name her and register the birth. I only found out once the birth announcement cards were printed that he'd called her Brian!!! wtf!

Have also discovered that chewing gum seems to ease my MS so am now chewing like Alex Ferguson in the dug out at a Man Utd game.

pepperonipizza · 12/04/2010 00:31

Fulham, that's amazing!!! Congratulations!! Please please put photos on your profile so we can see beautiful Lily, and tell us your birth story!!! I can't believe she arrived so early, must have been very eager to meet you!! Seen as you were due a week after after me, I'd better get that hospital bag packed......

Sorry to read about the troubles a few of you are having. I don't post all the time, but I do keep up with your news and read most days - I really hope things are okay and the next few weeks speed by a bit for you (time seems to stop when you are waiting for results or even just waiting to see how things are).

Congrats to the new members on their BFPs!! How exciting!! December babies!!

Nice to hear that the rest of you are getting on well, and hearing about all the scans and appointments, etc. It's all so lovely to see and hear our babies!!

Things are fine with me, not much to report. 34 weeks now, so just starting to panic about all the work I have to fit in before I start maternity leave in 4 weeks time, but very much looking forward to it too! We bought nappies at the weekend and the look so cute and tiny. DP wanted to practice (from all the jobs that go along with being a new dad, he is most scared about changing nappies and not dropping the baby!!), so we put one of them on a stuffed toy!!

chancewouldbeafinething · 12/04/2010 10:43

wow that was the wrong weekend not to be watching....so much has happened!

Congratulations fulham i am sure you are overwhelmed at the moment, but fill us in when you have a chance. Glad to hear that you are both doing well, we cant wait to hear more.

luckysevens congrats on your BFP, a christmas baby...very exciting!

Hermya good on you for taking time out, you have had a lot on your plate, and your line of work is not easily done when you are not 100% there. I you start to feel better soon.

Aly really hoping that you get some fantastic news on the 19th, hang in there you are doing fantastic, keep positive!

Spirael oohh 25 weeks and finally you get your £190! you know in Oz there is a baby bonus of just over $5000! but i guess £190 is better than nothing hey And good on gadget for being so active, who knows maybe you have the next johnny wilkinson in there! glad to hear you got a good report too

November welcome to the club, excited to hear you felt something, even if it was only a flutter. It is still a fair few weeks away for me, for some reason i am worried that i will feel nothing until i go into labour....not likely to happen i know, i being neurotic. Good luck with your scan on Friday, are you going to find out the sex?

Worrisome & bunny Yoga was good although I am guessing you appreciate it the bigger you get, a lot of it was about making room for the baby in your body, at the moment my baby is not that big IYKWIM, but i guess in a months time i will be happy to take a full breath! Do it though, its great to speak to other PG women in RL!

bunny your mum is too funny, that is such a weird thing to say...having said that i can totally imagine a few of my relo's saying the same...what did you say to her when she said it?

worrisome Good news on your sister, i know what you mean about it being your special time though. When my oldest brother and his wife announced they were pregnant, a week later the #2 oldest brother and his wife also announced they were too. Shame she is so far away, but you have to love skype dont you. I have a young nephew who i have only seen in RL for a total of a couple of months, but because he sees us all the time on skype he isnt shy of us when we do see him, he just runs and gives us a big hug. I am sure you and your sisters kids will be the same.

Sorry if i missed anyone...I was hoping 14 weeks would be when i stopped feeling so dizzy and tired got back to 'normal', today i had my head in the loo for hours, decided not to go to work as every time i got up i have been holding the walls. On top of this DH is on a business trip! lucky i have some lucozade on standby
