...now the "Crazy Baby Ladies"!

Had the idea to start this thread because, after getting my BFP on Monday, it suddenly dawned on me that I was going to lose contact with a lot of lovely people. I feel sad every time anyone leaves (though obviously happy for you that you've got your BFP) and thought this might be a nice idea, so that we can continue to keep in touch. After all, we've been through a lot together, haven't we?!

Also, I felt a bit out of my depth on the other threads, where it seemed like most of the members had already had children. There didn't seem to be a "first-timers" thread on here. (Unless I missed it!)

So here goes!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 02/03/2010 09:54

Morning all,

Just shuffling in and shyly taking my place at the back. I haven't been lurking here at all, so it may take a while for me to catch up with you. I really didn't think I was in with much of a chance to getting here, so I stayed away to avoid disappointment.

I'm still not entirely sure that I should be here. But I have three tests, alll with double lines, lined up on my bathroom windowsill that indicate otherwise.

It's stupidly early of course and I shouldn't be getting excited yet (I'm 4+3 according to fertility friend), but I'm hoping that this bean will stick.

And in that spirit of positivity and optimism, I have taken the liberty of updating the list and adding me and pidgin.

Morning guys.

Oh im so excited of finding out the genders of the baby's now!! lol. Just guessing my predictions are as follows. This is based on people who ive spoken to recently but if ive missed anyone please let me know....

her-Girl des - Girl
grumpy - Boy
fudge- Im really unsure my prediction might cahnge but I think Boy
white-Boy Chance-girl spiral-boy ozzie-boy pixie-girl

lol please let me know if ive missed anyone who ive recently spoken to im just getting it off of your personality's and a gut feeling. I always had a gut feeling I was having a girl but kept it quiet incase I was wrong. lol.

The theory about you carrying low and upfront is rubbish as I am carrying low and I havent put weight on anywhere else apart from the bump and ive got a little girl so unless the scan was wrong then that part of the theory is wrong as well.
The only sign's I had was the bad skin I never had bad skin until I feel preggers, the sickness (had bad sickness). Everything else cravings etc lead to a little boy so I supose u can never tell!! I didnt try the needle over the tummy thing though so might be a intresting one for u guys to try.

fudge- Yay so nice to get that confimation!! Enjoy your pregnancy now hun and will look forward to hearing your process !!

Nothing to really report guys. Still getting trouble off of my boss long story so not even gonna go there u guys kinda know anyway the way things are going!! Defo tribunial hearing in place now though.
Lots of pillows now im getting sores on my side and bottom . lol.
I do advise though if anyone has a journey into work to consider materity leave a little earlier I am so tired now struggling!!

xxxxxxx

Hermya321 · 02/03/2010 10:19

(Kicks a chair over and hands out cuppa) Yorkshire Welcome to the thread!!! I'm so thrilled for you!!!!

Fulham You think I'm having a girl?? Well I think we're all taking bets on this one? You have a one in two chance of being right though.

I feel less wretched today and in a suprisingly good mood. Should I be worried?

fulhamgirl · 02/03/2010 10:43

Sorry york I didnt see your post before I posted mine!! Massive CONGRATULATIONS wohoooooooooooooooo !!! xxxxxxxx
Im so so so happy and excited for u such good news needed it this morning.

york-boy lol just a feeling!!
Of course u are huni u cant get a false positive especially 3 positives and FF says u are 4 weeks 3 days thats amazing nearly 5 weeks already!! Im so pleasr for u!! Time to book your doctors appointment really because u are nearly 5 weeks.

Hows DH take the news is he doing kartwheels? .

U shake when u get the first positive such a great feeling.

So when is the due date huni?

xxxxxxxxx

fulhamgirl · 02/03/2010 10:49

her-just a guess because of the sickness but I think u should go on your gut feeling really. It was hard with u I was in two minds tbh ive only gone by your sickness .
Be very intresting u and fudge was in two minds really.

Do u think u are having a little boy then?

xxxxxxxxx

GrumpyGasper · 02/03/2010 11:07

interesting.... our gut feeling is girl. Saturday can't come soon enough!

Ful potential tiredness is precisely why i'm stopping work at the start of June for a baby due on July 21! sorry about the sores!

welcome yorky!

fulhamgirl · 02/03/2010 11:19

heya grumpy - yea defo gut feeling is a girl cant wait. Im so excited for u all I really am. Will u find out?

Yea im kinda thinking your way as well!!! I was meant to leave 16th April and take 2 weeks holiday!! Woke up this morning though very reluntanly and thought I cant really carry on for much longer. Im quite heavy and im not sleeping very well because of the sores now where all the weight is being forced onto. Lots of pillows dont help when my OH is tall and loves his space good luck with that now lol.

I will be roughly taking the same time as u. 8 weeks before she is due!! Bring on end of this month cant wait now.

xxxxxx

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/03/2010 11:24

grumpy your original prediction was right Im having a lovely healthy baby boy!!
So pleased we're calling him Dylan.

pixiestix · 02/03/2010 11:30

Hooray, a boy, I was right too!
Dylan is a fab name Despo ! Congratulations! How lovely.

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/03/2010 11:38

Thanks pixie yeah we love the name Dylan, we had Evie if it were to be a girl. We can always use that name next time if its a girl lol.
Will put pic up this evening cos I need DP's phone for that.

fulhamgirl · 02/03/2010 11:40

Lol my prediction well wrong haha!! Dont listen to me then.

Aww congratulations Dylan is a lovely name im so pleased for u!! Did u find the second scan more emotional than the first?

Was your heart racing lol waiting to find out? Im so pleased for u our first little boy on the grads list !!

xxxxxxx

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/03/2010 11:44

lol fulham my prediction was girl too!
Yeah I was grinning the whole time, he was moving so much and he waved at us and did a complete flip.
She was going through all the different parts of the body and I was so pleased everything looked normal and then she said "do you want to know what it is?" and we both said yes then my heart was racing and she showed us his little boy bits! My DP went "yesss" haha! he's got his little football buddy now lol.

Ive got to have another scan at 36 weeks as my placenta is a bit low, not covering the cervix but just touching it so will need to be checked to see if it moves up, fingers crossed it does.

fulhamgirl · 02/03/2010 11:51

des- lol all men want little football buddies lol what will poor Dylan be forced to support?

Aww im sure it will its nothing to serious anyway but they just need to know at the birth what proedures they will need to take. As long as baby is healthy the placenta being low (dont take my knowledge on this though)dont really make to much of a difference on the birth but they just need to know to be on the safe side.

Hermya321 · 02/03/2010 12:01

I'm a little bit worried, my ms isn't as bad this morning. I've had it, but I don't feel as wretched as I did this weekend. My boobs are still sore.

I just feel very happy, which makes a change from feeling wretched. Has anyone else had this?

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/03/2010 12:38

Dylan will be forced to support Arsenal fulham lol.
Yeah the sonographer said she isnt too concerned at the mo and she said I could experience slight bleeding, poss as its moving? but she said I prob wont even bleed and to tell my mw if I do. Hoping for a natural birth though tbh.

fulhamgirl · 02/03/2010 13:48

Her - babes please please please do not worry about that as long as u are not bleeding then u have absoulty nothing to worry about. I worry like u when I didnt feel her move as mush etc. Serioulsy I cant remember to much back before I was 12 weeks all I do remember was I was very sick but it was on and off some days I felt full of energy and the next I was so ill. Trust me if u have no pain or bleeding everything is absoulty fine!! I do remmeber I felt worse on some days than others depends on how relaxed u are as well. I remember at about 10 each morning I run off to be sick but some mornings I didnt sometimes it never happened at all I was never sick at night but when I was sick I knew about it it was constant!! So please dont worry yourself everyone sickness varys from day to day. Just means the bubs isnt zapping so much energy out of u today as he got it all yesterday and your prob find tonight or tomorrow that u feel awful then u will be complaniing lol!
U c I dont feel lily kick as much anymore I feel her move but not kick prob because she is running outta space their are so many explainations hun but if your worried call a midwife thats what they are there for but personally I think your fine and unfortunalty we do scare ourselfs throughout the pregnancy but they are alive and well.

her - Lol mine littlen will be Millwall his daddy is a mad Millwall fan (thats not good at all really ay) .
Your be fine I think your birth will be natural they will be able to tell from bloods at 28 weeks as well I have mine on Monday hate blood tests. But if they was worried then they woulda checked u out earlier dont forget Dylan could really come anytime between 32-40 weeks although u want it to be nearer 38 but if they were worried youd have another pretty soon

xxxxxxx

fulhamgirl · 02/03/2010 13:51

her - lol I meant her not him poor lily .

xxxxx

fulhamgirl · 02/03/2010 13:52

And I meant des not her lol im having a good afternoon as u can all tell

xxxxx

GrumpyGasper · 02/03/2010 14:18

yeay I was right! Here's to Dylan! Congrats despo

I will probably share what we are having after Saturday - but names will not be decided till we see him/her in the flesh

Hermya321 · 02/03/2010 14:44

Fulham Thanks, I think I worried myself unduely this morning. I've been out into town this afternoon and I've had that horrid metallic taste in my mouth and a queasy tummy (never thought I'd be grateful for that) so I guess the munchin is up to it's usual tricks. It always likes to keep me guessing.

Funniest and at the same very tragic adventure into town though. I went in to buy some more foundation at the Clinique counter (I know I'm a snob), only to find that not only that they didn't have any in my shade. That the idiotic morons at the top have decided that they're going to discontinue my particular foundation. Why would they do that to me? Don't they know that as a fragile preggers woman with dodgy skin at the best of times that I need this, especially now!!

So I left the shop in a cloud of dispair and hopelessness and went into boots. I ventured down the baby aile to coo over the baby clothes. I couched down to look at some of the stuff on the bottom shelf when this woman with a pram knocked me over. She looked mortified, poor thing, I told her 'don't worry it's the first time I've ever been knocked over by a buggy' and then made my retreat giggling to myself. I'm still laughing now in fact. Me, a pregnant woman knocked over by a pram in the baby aile at boots. LOL!!

fulhamgirl · 02/03/2010 14:57

her - lol youve just made me really giggle so something u wouldnt expect. U be careful though miss u have a bubba to look after as well still so funny though.
I know my skin is the worse it has ever been ever im so self concious of it.
Im going to pamper myself when I leave in a few weeks new foundation is in order nails and pedicure to be me thinks as well no one wants to go into labour with horrible toe nails u never know how hot the doctor is going to be lol!! I had a really young male check me over the other day and he said your fine to go home if you are in any more pain come back and see me and I was like well in about an hour I think they will come back lol!! !! Poor OH I think he was thinking u aint going anywhere down there mate haha!!

xxxxxxxx
