Sorry to hear about that news MrsGazebo - feel very selfish now.

bouncingblueberries · 06/01/2010 19:07

So sorry MrsGazebo. Really hope you come back soon with some good news.

Vix and Ruby thank god! Really thought I had some weird bottomless pit of a stomach syndrome for a while. I'm the same as you Vix, eating is the only thing that stops me feeling sick. I feel as big as a bus though - already!

Had a quick look online for some maternity tops that would hide my bulge for a bit longer, but everything seems designed to show off your bump! Which will be lovely when i have a bump rather than a tractor tyre!

As for crumpets, I've been craving them ever since watching the Hairy Bikers make them on TV last night. Did anyone else see it? It was dangerous viewing for us pregnant-and-watch-to-eat-anything-that-vaguely-resembles-food types. I was practically licking the TV!

possiblenewmum · 06/01/2010 19:31

Crickey there have been a lot of posts since i was last on! have tried catching up and at least got the second thread location!

I've been having a few sleepless nights recently and either that or the hormones have caused a few headaches also.

Have signed up for NCT classes as this is #1 for me and only have 1 close friend with kids, she swore by NCT as has found lasting friends out of it and they formed a baby sitting circle after the births which as neither sets of grandparents are close was v helpful - hope it works for me like that too. Tis expensive though!

Thought i'd add my location to the list which is Guildford, Surrey

So sorry MrsGazelo

Loving all the food diaries, that's some good eating goin on there!

I have been woken up each night for the last week or so by pins and needles in my hands and have just done a bit of goggling and found out that it is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Seems to be fairly common in early pregnancy. With a non-sleeping toddler, I really don't need anything else waking me up in the night. Anyone else suffering with this?

Loads of snow here, North Devon, very bored of it now.

loobyt · 06/01/2010 19:49

Appologies for my spelling MrsGazebo

mrsZaC · 06/01/2010 19:57

hey!

My that's a lot of reading to catch up on... really sorry to hear about your loss, mrsgazebo muchos luv to you.

So glad to hear that there are others that are pigging out trying to kerb it but it tastes so gooooood!

Got those sickness bands, they are great, been wearing them all day! although might be a little suspicious at work, but no one has noticed them so far.

super tired, been snoozin when I can, wish I could go for a nap at work in the afternoon, mmmmm nap mmmm.

I'm lovin the cold weather, but not the slush, yuck!

mmm crumpets

sparkle101 · 06/01/2010 20:06

Sorry to hear your news Mrs Gazebo

This forum is amzing - it is great to know that I am not the only one eating food to keep the sickness at bay as not sure whether sickness is due to ms or hungry. Although I haven't eaten any more than my meals today. But couldn't wait for dinner this evening so took to eating the raw veg before it got cooked, hence, not a lot for dinner!

What are these sickness bands mrs ZaC and where do I get them from - anything not to feel this rough!

vix206 · 06/01/2010 20:22

sparkle, they are called seabands and you can buy them online, at chemists and travel shops and supermarkets. I wear mine 24/7, have 2 pairs so I shower/bath in one and then leave them to dry while I wear the other pair!

Hey There! Still feeling sick as a dog - and have a stonking cold to boot! Not left my flat in 3 days! Hopefully will feel better tomorrow! Eating an apple before I fall asleep at night seems to make me feel not so sick in the morning... but maybe I'm just kidding myself! Got some anti-sickness tabs from the doc but kept throwing them up
I have the scan date through for the 14th and can't wait for the sickness to pass.

Mrs. Gazebo - thinking of you and sending a massive hug.

Crazycatlady · 06/01/2010 20:38

Hi everyone, sorry have missed LOADS as I've been all busy with work today and also sending rather a lot of emails in regard to the vile 'career women make bad mothers' campaign, which has been pulled as a direct result of action taken by mumsnetters, what a result hey .

I saw Boobz today and she has a lovely bump. So sorry she's leaving us for the June thread, but honestly, if she wasn't 18 weeks pregnant I'd be seriously wondering just how many babies were in there . Have fun on the June thread Boobz xx

sparkle101 · 06/01/2010 21:02

Many thanks Vix206 I have ordered some from amazon. We'll see what happens.

Funnily enough I ordered them and now I don't feel sick, I'm sure thats just a coindidence though!

neenz · 06/01/2010 21:25

So sorry to hear your news, MrsGazebo . Good luck with ttc again - I had a m/c three years ago and it is terribly upsetting and it feels so unfair when other people have successful pregnancies, but it will happen for you and it will be all the better (I have twins now that I wouldn't have if that first pregnancy had been successful )

Crazycat, that's great news about the Career Women Make Bad Mothers poster campaign. It was totally outrageous and made no sense - what exactly is a 'career woman'? And exactly how was it showing how great outdoor advertising is?

I am totally stuffing my face as well - I had to get up at 6am for a vegemite sandwich, then for brekkie had cereal, then two crumpets, soup with bread, a ham and cheese toastie, a big pack of Doritos, an orange, two apples and a big portion of shepherd's pie.

I had a bit of a wobble this morning thinking 'am I still pg?' cos I felt quite well (for about half an hour) and I took my temp this morning and it had dipped slightly (did anyone else use temping to get PG?). Your temp goes up when you OV and then stays high if you get pg. Well mine has been high at 36.6 but dipped to 36.4 today. Pre-period I am usually 36.2, so I was a bit scared it had dipped and tomorrow will dip even further which means I will start bleeding . Anyway, I know I should just chuck the thermometer away but I will do anything to try to reassure myself that this pregnancy is still going OK and a high temp does that! Anyway, I have felt terribly sick (hence all the eating) and tired today so I think it is still going ok . Will take my temp again tomorrow and hopefully it will have gone back up.

Sorry for the mega post!

cakeywakey · 06/01/2010 22:44

So sorry to read your post MrsGazebo, hope that you're looked after well at hospital and that things go better next time for you.

I saw my GP today to get the antenatal ball rolling, just have to wait to hear from the midwife and hospital now. May see a consultant this time at least once apparently as I had a fourth degree tear after DD's birth, may be a c-section rather than vaginal birth. Not sure how I feel about it yet, so need more info.

I'm also eating like a pig and feel soooooo bloated. I'm already going off tea, which I'm going to have to be careful about at work - they're likely to twig as it's the one thing they remember about my last pregnancy . I did have crumpets today though, and they were scrumptious. Yum!

starshaker · 07/01/2010 08:16

i have my scan today just to make everything is ok. Feel like crap so thats a good thing lol. Fingers crossed all is ok

girlsyearapart · 07/01/2010 08:40

oh mrsgazebo I really am sorry.

glad I found the new thread was wondering why the other one was so quiet!

I am 10 weeks tomorrow and still have no scan/booking apt dates through. Surely should've done by now.

cakey I know what you mean about the tea thing it's a dead give away!

I continue to be totally paranoid after my early scare and just want my apt now so I can relax (a bit)

This thread is very bad for food! I had Chicken Katsu at Wagamama the other day as a result though

Meant to be going to centre parcs tomorrow

starshaker good luck

neenz · 07/01/2010 08:46

Good luck starshaker - is this your 12wk scan or not?

Centreparcs should be fun in this weather, Girlsyearapart!

I think the scan dates/appts must have been held up cos of Christmas. I was suppsoed to see the mw on tue but she cancelled on me cos the gp told me to make my own appt, but the mw said the appt will come through from the hospital. I asked her to check I had been referred properly cos it was a trainee gp I saw and she obviously didn't know what she was doing!

Well I took my temp this morning and it was high again so think I am still pg

littlemiss72 · 07/01/2010 08:49

Morning all, so sorry to hear your sad new MrsGazebo big ((hugs))

Hope all goes well today for you starshaker let us all know how you get on.

Just had the morning call how you feeling lol was tempted to say like sh*t on a stick but hey that's not what my DP wants as a response.

Going to brave the icy streets today as I felt like I was going a little stir crazy yesterday cooped up all day indoors. Eating almost everything in sight to, salt and viniger chip sticks from M&S seem to be my snack of choice.

Had another mild panic last night about how I'm eventually going to tell people, my boss is lovely and I don't see him often I'm like a virtual PA as such.. I'm narky at the best of times so I bet he'll just think oh dear god..the hormones! I'm feeling fat so I'm guessing people might notice before I even come clean.

Hope you all keeping well and enjoying the snow! x

girlsyearapart · 07/01/2010 08:49

Sorry neenz the was not to being at centre parcs is was a to being able to get there!

I am really looking forward to it but it is in suffolk (snow) coming from here Surrey (snow) with friends who live in Hampshire (even more snow)

bouncingblueberries · 07/01/2010 09:13

Morning girls

Good luck with your scan startshaker and let us know how you get on. I haven't had my scan date through yet, might chase them next week.

Well, after being such a pig yesterday I promised myself I was going to be a lot healthier today. But then I left for work without putting any fruit or yoghurt in my bag - doh. So what's a girl to do? Pop into Pret for a hot chocolate, chocolate croissant and a banana of course!

Oh dear. Think I'll need to stock up on the crumpets for this weekend!

Chulita · 07/01/2010 09:27

I'm glad a lot of you are eating for Britain too - yesterday I had 2 slices of toast, 30 mins later a bowl of bran flakes, a bowl of kedgeree and more toast for lunch, a couple of chocolate biscuits mid-afternoon, pesto pasta & veg for tea and then more toast before bed...I feel enormous I'm at that stage where my trousers sit just under my fat roll and it's a constant reminder of my chubb - yeuch! I had a cs with dd too and my stomach is a funny shape now so the extra fat layer really is not at all flattering.
salt&vinegar chipsticks [drool] oh I so need a bag of those!
I want to go to Centre Parcs [sulks]

BunnyBaby · 07/01/2010 10:07

Hello!

MrsGazebo very sorry to hear your news, I am sure you are being well looked after with lots of cuddles. I'm looking fwds to hearing you've conceived again when the time is right.

Centerparcs is fab, we're off on the 5 th March can't wait.

Neenz I know what you mean about Alex Reid being possibly gay. Just the way he checks the other guys out in a sideways way and he is interested in people's stories in a genuine empathetic way. He surprised me as gentler and more eloquent than I expected.

Bouncingblueberries ahem, food diaries, I've put half a stone on already!!! Food, roses, takeaways, muller corners and ransoms, busy hoovering it all up! Now wearing ruffly jumpers to hide my big tum!

NichyNoo · 07/01/2010 10:26

So sorry to hear your news MrsGazebo - big hugs

Things are still the same for me - no symptoms apart from sore breats. The slight nausea that I had last week seems to have gone.

I had a major breakdown yesterday. Got really stressed about lack of symptoms and convinced myself something was seriously wrong (in all fairness I'm having a stressful time at work which I think topped everything off). After having a cry I realised I was being stupid and that I need to pull myself together and just wait until the 19th for my scan. It's DH's 30th birthday on the 16th so am trying to focus on organising things for him instead.

Mmmm...crumpets! They're really difficult to buy over here but might have to drive out to the English supermarket on Saturday to stock up!!!

bouncingblueberries · 07/01/2010 10:51

I wanna go to Centreparcs too!

bunnybaby - me too oink oink

Bewler · 07/01/2010 10:53

So sorry MrsGazebo,I hope you are back soon and that your family are giving you oodles of TLC.

Nichynoo I daren't voice how worried I feel about my lack of symptoms in case I infect DH with my paranoia but I feel the same as you. My only clue to being up the pole is my boobs being big and round and achey and several (including last week) BFPs. Other than that, nadda. I'm not sick, I'm eating really healthily (although I would love an excuse to scoff a load of frazzles and cherryade), I'm still going to the gym and only the smell of cigarette smoke makes me boak. I know I should count myself lucky but its my first DC and I can't help but worry that it has something to do witht the strength of my pregnancy. I have my booking in appointment on Sunday and I am really hoping the midwife will vbe able to hear a heart beat with a doppler. I will be so happy and relieved to hear it.

mrsZaC · 07/01/2010 11:18

morning all!

Think I'm going mad, I've been singing to 'blueberry' as I call it (currently blueberry sized) just been telling it to be a nice little blueberry and grow for mummy!

bewler can totally relate with lack of symptoms.. I'm constantly paranoid, just don't 'feel' pregnant! Only really started to feel queezy when i came back to work, so still sporting my sickness bands (got mine in travel section in boots).

Having said that I have gigantic boobies now, and zipping my jacket up is becoming an issue, poor boobs are being squished! and my tummy was most definetely above the bath water last night!

I've been getting funny period-type pains today but decided this morning to not worry about it, and be more positive and they went away! still niggling but I think being positive does something for you. My mum always says that stress does not good for growing babies so I'm trying to stay as calm and positive as I can in the hope that will rub off on blueberry... 7 weeks tomorrow woo hoo!
