Congrats Boobz!

Have added my location onto the list (Devon). It has eventually snowed proper lying snow . It never snows here on the coast (South Devon), normally just wet and cold during the winter. Have just been outside to put some bird food out, but the bloody seagulls have nicked it all (their usual diet is fish and chips or pasties stolen from unsuspecting tourists).

DH has banned me from driving into work, so am sat in front of computer with hot water bottle on lap. Managed to keep my breakfast down today for the first time in ages (10 + 2), so having a good day so far.

Bouncingblueberries I had to tell my employer even before I had been to the doctors as they were booking me on courses left, right and centre which I couldn't attend. They were really supportive which was helpful as one of the other managers at my work is pregnant too (2 out of 3 of us). If an employer puts three women of child bearing age in the same place - they are asking for trouble! Hope it goes okay

I'm in Dorset, and we've finally got a sprinkling.
About 3 months before I got pregnant with DD I was actually turned down for a job because I was of child-bearing age...they said I wasn't suitable and when I asked why the lady rolled her eyes and said 'you'll only be here a month and then you'll tell us all you're pregnant'... could have fought it but instead I went home and got pregnant. Better hung for a sheep as a lamb

bouncingblueberries · 06/01/2010 12:43

Ha ha! Too true Sparkle! Chulita that is awful! And surely illegal

I do want to wait for my scan before I tell work, fingers crossed my growing belly won't betray me! Surely since the wife of one of the directors is preggers it must have crossed their mind - we're the same age after all.

Will let you know when I finally tell them!

KayloHalo · 06/01/2010 13:10

Good Afternoon honeys

Hows Things? Welcome Sparkle Nichy From what you listed there sounds like you have a fair few good symptoms there - sore boobies, no appetite. Be grateful hun, I'm sure all is well. I agree it's a testing time until you get that absolute confirmation that theres something there.

Is everyone enjoying the snow? I personally hate it. Well I hate driving in it. This morning on my way to work the car in front of me skidded off the road and into a ditch - I was mortified, convinved I was next!! So I promptly stopped and helped him out of his car. Even after him there was other little accidents that had happened like people sliding into signposts or other cars.
Scary stuff. We've been appealing to the bosses to see if we can go home for fear of being stuck here - the best response we've had so far is "well we are a 24 hour office so closing isn't really an option for us, as our employees we expect you to be here!"

So my job sucks today.

Love to all, I hope my bad mood isn't catching!!

Am getting very irritated by the snow and by all the medical people who are being annoying. Had Pre E last time and emcs and growth issues with DC1. Moved home and so notes haven't got to new Dr, NO appointments with the Midwife until Feb to book in???????????? when by my calculations will be at least 11 weeks. Had to register with the new dr and the nurse today told me that "it was possible to excercise whilst pregnant" where to I said "yes but not when you can't breath, are permanently dizzy and think you are going to puke all the time, not to mention being bloody tired and running around after a toddler" Suck that one up bitch. Oh and yes apparently as had to give a urine sample have protein in it, although she told me that could just be because I am fat.

Am pretty pissed off really, can't get hold of the community midwife at the hospital AND the choice of hospital to have this one at is one of the worst in the country. Am so pleased that I have all this to come. Feel all depressed and there is too much snow!

Missus84 · 06/01/2010 14:38

bigmuther65 - it's nice that they come to you for your booking appointment! My appointment took over an hour, she took loads of details about my medical history, DP's history, previous pregnancies, talked about tests on offer, antenatal classes, where I could give birth, scans, future appointments, gave me piles of leaflets. Also took a urine sample, tried to take blood, and weighed me. And I asked quite a lot of questions as well.

BigMomma3 · 06/01/2010 14:39

Any one had their booking in appointment with the mw - did you get asked very probing questions as well?? It occurred to me afterwards that she was bloody nosy . I was asked whether I owned or rented my house, how many bedrooms we had, whether we were on benefits, whether and where DH worked, how long we'd been married etc.

I don't remember being asked these questions last time and that is probably why she was here for 3 bloody hours.

I have been classed a high risk pregnancy and had been referred to a specialist midwife team for 'problem pregnancies' which I was not aware of until my appointment, due, I believe, to a previous stillbirth and the fact that I was taking Prozac for anxiety until I got the BFP. Am slightly concerned now about whether I will be under their radar and who will have access to my notes.

BunnyBaby · 06/01/2010 14:45

Doodlydoo you don't have to go with the hospital they tell you that you 'have to'. Put it in writing that you want a referral to the hospital of your choice and they will have no choice but to refer you. I had a silly b*tch doctor who said I had no choice both times, to which I nodded sagely. Went home, wrote my letter, and just waited for the appointment from my hospital of choice.

You do have choice.

Aside from baby - CBB - I'm now warming to Alex Reid - WTF??!!!

Missus84 · 06/01/2010 15:12

I didn't get asked anything like that BigMomma - I think she might have asked if I was happy about where I was living but nothing about benefits or our relationship. We were asked what are jobs were though.

Aussieng · 06/01/2010 15:22

Alex Reid???? Ok......

Hey Doodley poor you - you sound as fed up as I have been. Hopefully once you have your booking in everything else will happen quickly. Hospital situation sound rubbish though although where I live it is a choice of pretty awful hospital 1 or pretty awful hospital 2 which is slightly further away.

Kaylo yet again - your bosses sound awful. i'd be delighted to have the opportuntity to tell them that I'm off on mat leave

BigMomma that is nosy and sorry about the high risk category. But at least they should take good care of you - can you ask about who gets access to your notes? We were only asked medical background related questions and jobs.

Finally got my scan date - next Tuesday. Perfectly, it clashes with a conference call with my boss and a specialist advisor. I can just imagine her reaction - "and the disruption begins already". Still have not actually told her yet. I was going to tell tomorrow but the snow means that she is not going to make it into the office so we have a conference call rather than a catch up in person which is not ideal so I'm not sure what to do now - dilemma. Bl**dy snow.

I need to update my due date and location but I am waiting to do this until after I have told my boss. She does not strike me as a MN'er but you never know...

neenz · 06/01/2010 15:40

I was warming to alex reid too until he started getting all excited at the thought of being the next James Bond. wtf??? Is if that is ever going to happen. Best he can do on CBB is just sit back and say 'whatever happens happens, I'm just here for the ride'. He is obviously there to build his 'career'. Saddo. I think he is gay actually (nothing wrong with that, just that I think his relationship with Jordan is a sham). I'm a journalist on a celeb magazine, not that I have any insider knowledge on the situation!

BigMomma, Doodley, sounds like you are having a rubbish time .

I have told work I am PG, even though I am only 8+2. I have had this week off due to sickness so had to tell them really. I had a m/c three years ago and had to take a couple of weeks off afterwards, and I know it would be same this time if the worst was to happen - so no point in waiting cos they will find out one way or the other whether the PG is successful or not iyswim.

bouncingblueberries · 06/01/2010 17:01

Boy, am I starving! How can this be possible? I had a huge bowl of porridge at 7am this morning followed by not 1, but 2 () pain au chocolat at 9.30am, then 2 choccy biscuits, 2 tangerines and 2 oat biscuit things between 10am and 1.30pm.

At 1.45pm I made a complete pig of myself and bought a chicken royale, fries and a coke at the train station (just in case the train got stuck in the snow half way to South London you understand ). THEN I devoured a packet of minstrels while "working" this afternoon.

That is truly outrageous. And here was me thinking I'd managed to stay pretty healthy on the food front so far with this pregnancy .

No wonder people are offering me seats on trains already!

Please, someone else admit they've been as awful! In my defense, 80% of that was consumed to ward off sickness. That's ok, right?????

MrsGazebo · 06/01/2010 17:12

Hello, hope everyone is well.
I have bad news, I'm going to be leaving you.
Found out this morning at our 3rd scan that our Bean didn't make it.
The Consultant said the heart must have just stopped a few days ago. Going in for a ERPC on Fri.

I just wanted to say that I'm so glad I found MN.
Thank you all for sharing the laughs and the worries with me and I wish you all the very best and hope to catch up one day for your experienced knowledge, help and advice. Xxxx

Alicetheinvisible · 06/01/2010 17:33

MrsGazebo good luck with next time, i'm sure it won't be long.

Chulita i lost a job because i was pg last time. He did say if anything happened i could come back though twat.

When i had my first MW appointment (when pg last time) it was 2hrs at my house. She chatted about my health, how i felt about the whole thing, went through forms, medical history etc. Remember laughing because one of the questions on the form was "Are you and your partner blood relatives?" WTF? I know we are near the Fens, but bloody hell very funny though.

Feeling really down atm, forget that i get depressed a fair bit whilst pg. Weather isn't helping tbh.

Boos75 · 06/01/2010 17:52

So sorry to hear that MrsGazebo. Sending you lots of best wishes that it will happen for you again soon.

ladyjadey · 06/01/2010 18:17

Hi all, due around 18th aug with my 2nd.

expecting to do it on my own as relationship very new and not doing at all well.

was feeling very sorry for myself, then i read the posts of others and feel bad for the self pity when others lose their babies. So very sorry Mrsgazebo my heart goes out to you.

RubyRubyLou · 06/01/2010 18:26

So sorry to hear your sad news MrsGazebo bouncingblueberries you're not alone - just polished off 3rd chrunchie of day and as it snowed and we both got out of work, I have just cooked a massive roast chicken dinner.

Feeling fat and now can't fit into jeans either so will have to search out some maternity trousers tomorrow if still off work. Funny how you can't get to work but can 'somehow' manage to reach the shops

Allthe8s · 06/01/2010 18:41

so sorry MrsGazbo lots of hugs to you xxxx

Welcome ladyjadey try not to feel down we will try to cheer you up and are here for you if you need to chat! How old is your first?

Have my booking in next Tuesday and consultant on Thursday. Glad I am getting in early so they can check up really early on.

Felt sick all day and all night yesterday then vom'd into my scarf this morn (sorry). DD1 (3.5) has been off nursery today and I have just stuck her in front of the goggle box as I feel like the life has been sucked out of me. Feel mean I didn't take her out in the snow. I did offer painting though but she was happy with NickJr and Beebies! School will be shut tomorrow too and I am praying for more snow so DH can't get to work!

vix206 · 06/01/2010 18:52

So sorry to hear your news MrsGazebo, big hugs to you..

blueberries, you are not alone - here is what I have eaten today:

5am woken up by hunger ate healthy fruit muesli bar
8am bowl of ricicles
At work
9.30am bag of plain hula hoops
10.15am hot cross bun
11.00 about 4 plain biscuits
12.00 bowl of cold pasta with sundried tomato and mozzarella
1.00 another bowl of cold pasta
2.00 half a bowl of pasta!!
2.45 small apple
3.30 about 4 plain biscuits
6.00 small portion home made pizza with salad and a cor on the cob

I just could not stop eating today, the only way I can ward off the awful nausea is with food but I will be huge if this continues. I know for a fact I will need another 2 snacks before bed time so that'll most likely be another hot cross bun (toasted this time yum) and maybe a bowl of cereal.

RubyRubyLou · 06/01/2010 18:56

ahhhh so I was not the only one who gave in to the hot cross buns that cover the entrance to the supermarket...

I think I'm every advertisers dream

Doodleydoo · 06/01/2010 18:57

Have been told I now need to see the Dr so hopefully will get more sense out of her than the silly nurse (whose calling who obese - me have excusey to eat the choccie biccies!!!) That is unless we are snowed in which is a major possibility as the weather here is shocking a couple of inches in an hour!!!!!!

Have banned husband from going to work tomorrow as he has 4wd but I don't and we live in the middle of the back of beyond. Besides quite enjoying not having to do all the childcare on my own!!!

CBB - obviously I should be watching it!

Allthe8s · 06/01/2010 18:58

ooooo vix206 hot cross buns...toasted.....damn snow! I have some crumpets I might try them.......
