Just diving in to say hello to the new people. To join in, just scroll down to the find the list of stats, and post it again with yourself copied in.

Lilypad, I just looked on the Fertility Friend pregnancy site, and it says that in week 7 (ie when the baby is 6+ something) it should be 4-5mm, so it sounds like you're doing absolutely fine.

Off to share a pizza with DS for lunch. Naughty mummy, naughty mummy, naughty mummy...

Ooh, just got my scan date in the post. Not until 26th Jan, which seems AGES away.

Pizza was yummy, by the way .

Crazycatlady · 05/01/2010 13:28

Mines not until 27th Moose, seems sooooooooo far away doesn't it?!

Feeling very tired today, poor DD has had to entertain herself while I lie on the sofa. I'm suddenly grateful for the mountain of new toys she got for Christmas.

Welcome new ladies

Dibbydab · 05/01/2010 13:49

Hello ladies,

Keep digging your nails into lemons, wearing your seabands or pressing your belly button - whatever works. Alas, nothing is working for me - I can set my watch by being sick within 15 minutes of getting up - this morning I managed to throw a bowl of cereal down my neck before it came back up.

We did "the big shop" this weekend and I told DH, sorry I can't cook/don't know what I'll fancy to eat on any given day - just pick up some ready meals to get you through the week, I can just about manage the microwave

So shopping consisted of 4 cartons of fresh orange, 10 ready meals, grapes (can't get enough of them), lots of lemonade (delish with a dash of lime cordial) and loo roll. I think Nigella is safe for a while .

I had my booking appt last Tuesday - lots of form filling and confirming I wasn't an alcoholic/class A drug user/chain smoker and that was about it really. Midwife is lovely, she weighed me and took my blood pressure and I have "notes" and a my very own wee pot to carry around with me - yay, more rubbish in my handbag! She did ask about whether I'd thought about where I would like to have baby Dibbydab - I made murmerings about liking the idea of a home birth to which she gave me a wry smile and a knowing nod and said "I thought you might..." (probably because I'm not her usual client from round our way - aged 15, pregnant after a knee trembler behind the local Lidl, makes Vicki Pollard look classy...)

Have an appt next week for bloods then my 12 week scan on 21st Jan for nuchal and dating and will get the results of scan and blood tests after the scan. DH and I need to have a serious sit down and discuss the "what ifs" before we get to the scan, though midwife did say that they will only refer you on for CVS if the risk from the Nuchal scan was higher than 1:350 - at the moment I am 1:440 risk for Downs because I am a decrepit old hag (35 this year), but like everything else, we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.

Enough rabbiting on from me. There seems to be 2 threads going so also going to copy this onto other thread.

Missus84 · 05/01/2010 13:59

I've got my booking in an hour - hopefully they'll give me a scan date then. Already getting worked up about them taking a blood sample though!

SmileyMylee · 05/01/2010 17:31

Saw my GP today to start the ball rolling. Even though it's only 5 years since my last child it all seems so different (I'm sure I had nuchal scan at 9 weeks and not 12).

Feeling sick and tired. My 3 children are pretty much fending for themselves - luckily my eldest makes great omellettes! Also have a new puppy so getting used to the sleepless nights already.

Feeling a bit panicky (well a lot panicky) on how I will cope with 4 DC at 44. DH is great but not the most domesticated on the planet. I'm pretty much drowning in Playmobil and Transformers as it is.

Chulita · 05/01/2010 17:40

Hope the blood taking went ok missus, I'm not fussed about it but DH goes all pale when they take my blood, very strange!
smiley - my parents had 7 and they both assure me that the more you have the easier it gets maybe rose tinted spectacles of hindsight but we all turned out alright And your eldest can cook so you won't have to worry about that when your new LO comes along!

Missus84 · 05/01/2010 17:51

Thanks Chulita, unfortunately the blood taking was a bit of a disaster I got as far as the midwife putting on the tourniquet and finding a vein but then had a bit of a freak out. I really thought I'd be able to do it, but when it came to it I couldn't

Midwife was lovely about it though and wrote "needle phobic" all over my notes! I'm going to have to have it done on my next appointment on the 8th February - she suggested I look into some hypnotherapy before then.

Now just waiting to get my scan date in the post - hopefully it will be soon! Busy going through my Bounty pack for freebies and vouchers now.

I've added myself to the list. Liahgen, whereabouts in Kent are you? I could be quite close to you. (I usually post under a different name and can't out myself yet as my family stalk me on here!)

I saw a hypnotherapist today to help with the sickness (and also seeing an acunpuncture person) - it is my last pregnancy and I am determined not to hate every minute! I am also trying to avoid carbs as I wonder whether they make things worst - I wish I could be one of those pregnant women who crave salads when pg!

Well lots of wierd stuff happening. MS suddenly vanished on Sat morning so spent whole day scanning web for confirmation that I'd miscarried only to finally settle on the fact that I should perhaps be grateful and not believe the worst.
Still no MS so now hoping it'll stay away (sorry girls)
Then first day back at work and had sad chat with friend who miscarried on xmas eve after IVF. She still doesn't know I'm PG so feel even more terrible for her Wondering now when to fess up....

Called docs today to chase booking in app. They gave me Midwife's mobile but have discovered she is away til Monday - will be 11 weeks then!!! Now concerned about when I'll get in for the scan.

Also can NOT STOP thinking about cherryade

RubyRubyLou · 05/01/2010 20:00

missus - lady farts!! Fabulous

Also scratching around for vouchers and freebies. Have applied for Mothercare cat and mamas and papas cat too.

Anyone recommend any other catalogues to go for?

Boobz · 05/01/2010 21:29

Hi everyone - I briefly introduced myself on the last Due August thread as I found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks before Christmas at the same time as CrazyCatLady, whom I love dearly, so I came and joined her thread hoping that I was also due August...

Had a scan today as I didn't know how pregnant I was and didn't want to miss the nuchal window.... turns out I am 18 weeks today! Oops.

Off to join Due June thread - good luck everyone!

x

neenz · 05/01/2010 21:42

Hi there, just added my name to the list. I have 20mo twins and yes I think I am a bit mad to be getting PG again so soon

I am feelng tired and quite sick (no vomiting though thankfully) and extremely hungry - I had to get up at 6am this morning to make myself a sandwich (then went back to bed).

Yesterday DH was back at work so it was the first day on my own with the DTs since the MS started. I was in bed by 9pm . Got up this morning at 8.30am

Missus84 · 05/01/2010 21:48

Lucky you Boobz! Congrats on your June baby

aendr · 05/01/2010 21:59

Hi-bye Boobz and goodluck.

Missus84 last time around I found that the MWs and practice nurses at my GPs can't get at my one good vein so, because I'm a bit needle-shy, I ended up going to the phlebotomist's at the hospital as they got the vein first time every time. I don't know what your issues are, but it might be something to consider. Unfortunately as I'm Rh- and my husband and son are + I'll be having extra tests and jabs all along.

Due to Christmas (and my son being in hospital the week I discovered I was late) I haven't actually got myself on the system yet, so I'm trundling off to the doctor tomorrow to tell him that I got a positive test so he can start the paperwork to get me on the midwife list. I'm rather hoping that as we'll be paying for the nuchal fold test, it won't be a too long wait for a scan.

BunnyBaby · 05/01/2010 22:52

Evening ladies, I am loving watching the snow out of our window. Cmon Cmon I want tomorrow of work!

This maybe lowering the tone, but I'm well impressed with Celebrity Big Brother this year which started a few days ago. Haven't watched any BB's for a few years. Maybe a sign of my mush brain.

1st day back at work, and boy do I look like I ate all the pies. Looking forwards to 12 week scan so I can fess up!

littlemiss72 · 05/01/2010 23:50

Woohoo it's great outside!

Know what you mean buunybaby caught sight of myself in a full length mirror at work today.. my poor suit looked awful lol.

I've been watching BB to.. that Steven is a real card, bless him.

Too excited to go to bed, just want to keep watching the snow falling.

Chulita · 06/01/2010 07:36

I think we're the only place in the whole of Britain not to have snow...we don't even have a frost this morning and we were promised heavy snow last night I'm actually quite miffed to be missing out...

bouncingblueberries · 06/01/2010 09:47

OMG! Don't talk to me about looking lie you ate all the pies - someone actually offered me a seat on the train home last night! Then as soon as dh came through the door he exclaimed "wow, you suddenly look pregnant!". Put on my trousers that I usually reserve for fat days this morning and had to dig out the belly bands from last pregnancy

Don't know how much longer I can keep this quiet. 10 + 2 today but rapidly running out of clothes that look ok. Flippin nora.

Lots of snow today, but made it in to work. Nothing in central London of course but think the office is going to be pretty quiet today!

Good luck Boobz!

neenz · 06/01/2010 09:51

Whereabouts are you Chulita? I am on the NW coast near Southport and we don't normally get snow but we still got it bad yesterday.

Nothing wrong with CBB - I find it compulsive viewing! DH won't let me watch it though so I have to Sky+ and watch it when he's at work.

I have taken the day off today cos of the snow and feeling sick - didn't want to risk getting stuck in my car for hours feeling rough. I have still sent the twins the CM though so a lovely day all to myself today .

I only work Wed and Thurs so I think I'll have tomorrow off too

bigmuther65 · 06/01/2010 10:04

should of been first day back to work today, but about 7in's of snow so can,t go anywhere as buses are cancelled such a shame

Had a letter to say midwife coming to visit me at home on Monday, also received my appointment for my scan on 1st feb.Do any of you know what the midwife visit entails as it says allow 2 hrs which seems a long time

neenz · 06/01/2010 10:18

2 hours! From what I remember from last time it was just form filling and making sure you are not being abused by your DH . I don't think it took an hour let alone two. She might take your blood and test your urine maybe? And your blood pressure. And maybe talk to you about diagnostic tests you can have eg blood tests, nuchal etc. Maybe they are just factoring in time for her to be late!
