Elusive, yes my bump is the same! It is like a balloon that starts under my ribs and goes to my pelvis.

I have put on half a stone in 6wks which included Christmas so not too bad I don't think. Unfortunately I have gone from size 10 to 12 - but don't own any size 12 clothes! I have my mat clothes but I am trying to get by with wearing my trousers unbuttoned atm.

Driedapricots, that's a bummer about the name! We like Daniel for a boy, not sure about a girl though, we really struggled to find a name for our DD. We called her Esther in the end.

neenz · 20/01/2010 13:56

Dibbydab - crazy boss!

KayloHalo · 20/01/2010 14:00

Moose re High bumps, mine also starts right under my ribcage too - I was thinking it was a little odd to have a bump right up there!! Like you said tho - it's prob other essential organs making way for baby x

Apricots WRT names - have tried very hard to convince dh to think of some but he isn't very responsive. He's nervous enough about the scan and he doesn't even know about all the poor ladies on here - that would just send him over the edge!
What names do you have?

x

Dibbydab, your boss sounds like a poppet, albeit a bit dappy.

BTW, we ended up calling DS Paul. In my 2 and a bit years as a mother I have yet to come across a single other child called Paul, even though I think of it as a really normal name. When I told the MW what we were calling him, she said 'gosh, how unusual'. We were a bit at the time, but clearly she was right .

bouncingblueberries · 20/01/2010 14:01

elusive - yes same bump issues here! Looks very much like a pregnancy bump but I know for a fact that it's just all my fat and other vital organs pushed upwards!

bouncingblueberries · 20/01/2010 14:04

elusive there were 2 Paul's in my class in primary and 3 in my class in high school so it's a really normal name for me too! Lots of Pauline's around too - must have been the on-trend name in 1976!

driedapricots · 20/01/2010 14:06

elusive (thought this was rather nicer shortcut than moose!) yes, my bump is like a 8 month pregnant tummy already..v high, but i don't think my stomach muscles ever recovered from DD1 and i have always looked a bit pregnant ever since anyway!!
Names..the boys name we like is Max. I love that and so have no others lined up. I was convinced our first was a boy and didn't even buy any pink after they confirmed it was a girl at 20 weeks! I adore my DD now and would be very happy with another girl, but feel a bit of pressure from family (not DH) who all want a boy...hope we don't dissapoint then ;) girls names i am struggling with...maybe Phoebe??? We're not going to find out the sex this time..i want that moment when they present baby and say 'it's a ....'!!

KayloHalo · 20/01/2010 14:13

apricots I said I didn't wanna find out this time either but I can feel my impatience already winning the battle. Plus dh wants to find out as well.

The names I have thought of up to now are

Holly for a girl

and

Zachary for a boy.

Popular names but I don't care, I love them!

OP posts:
ElusiveMoose · 20/01/2010 14:20

Loving all the name suggestions so far. And blueberries, I'm a '76 girl as well, so maybe that explains why I chose it!

Chulita · 20/01/2010 14:42

We have two boys names saved up from DD but no girls' names. We only liked Lucy for a girl but we were convinced she was a boy so had settled on our boys' name. Since having DD we've met so many Lucys, grr! I didn't realize it was so popular.
My 'little' brother's called Paul so it's normal for me too, but yea, I don't know any child Pauls.
Girls' names on a postcard please

I've felt crap all day today. Threw up my morning cuppa...again...and then had to have a lie down while DD emptied every drawer in her room, then had another sleep when she had her nap. I've just felt rubbish - I want the 2nd trimester bloom now!

driedapricots · 20/01/2010 14:56

Chulita - they love emptying drawers don't they? Over all of the toys my DD has ever had, neatly folded drawers and a packet of wipes will win every time...
sorry you're feeling crappy, must be a hormone surge..it's good thing!

Chulita · 20/01/2010 15:12

Yes! packets of wipes or tissues, what's up with that?! She'll quite happily shred a packet of tissues for 10 mins whereas normal toys are a waste of money imho.

loobyt · 20/01/2010 15:29

Hello, thought I would stop by, as I haven't posted in ages.

To begin with so sorry to all the ladies that have had loses and hope to see you all on another antenatal thread really soon.

I too am getting fat now and am going for the unbuttoned jeans option like neenz, although I am quite concerned about standing up and my trousers falling down!

Had my first appointment with my very 'dappy' MW on Monday. After LOTS of questions she came to the blood and urine tests and managed to knock my wee sample over, went all over her desk . Just waiting for my scan date now.

My DS (23 months) is also a great fan of the baby wipes

On the 'names' front, we have a few girls names in mind but are finding boys names a little tougher. Didn't decide on a name for DS until the drive home from hospital!

Hope everyone is well and not too sicky.

starshaker · 20/01/2010 15:36

ive sorted my combo for 2 boys or boy girl. No idesa about 2 girls though.

BB would be harrison (harry) and Leon (leo)
BG would be harrison (harry) and isabella (either izzy or bella)

Chulita · 20/01/2010 15:49

lol, DD just tottered in wearing my bra half on her head, half like a backpack very funny!
at mw knocking wee over her desk, I'd have pmsl!
I love the name Isabella. I'm leaning towards Heidi but not sure DH would like it.

driedapricots · 20/01/2010 15:53

Love those names starshaker - suggested Leo to DH myself last night but he has an aversion to Leonardo DiCaprio!!!
Guess it's twice as hard much fun to think of 2 complementary names.
Isabella is incredibly popular in my neck of the woods unfortunately otherwise would go for Bella myself too.
Also like Chloe and Jack but they're both high up in the top names list which puts me off a bit..not to mention being the names of Richard & Judy's kids!!

liahgenisuptheduff · 20/01/2010 17:30

We have no idea about names. when you get to number 6 it's gets quite difficult as you've used up all the names you really like.

I like

Kitty, (dh says def not)

Teddy (dh likes but prefers Freddie, I think F is more common popular, (sorry to mums of Freddies)

girlsyearapart · 20/01/2010 17:55

So sorry bunny life is not fair. Hope you can bring us some good news before the year is out.

I am so so nervous about my scan on friday. I refer to the baby as 'imaginary' baby and DH barely even refers to the pregnancy at all. We are steeling ourselves for the worst news I think. Expect the worst hope for the best. God how depressing.

Names Joseph is the only boy name

Girl Evie Tilly Martha Tallulah Lucie Isla Stella

ps I love Kitty and Isabella have nieces named those!

starshaker · 20/01/2010 17:57

OOOOOO think i have my 2 girls names now lol

Kitty and isabella

Alicetheinvisible · 20/01/2010 17:58

Liah i really like Teddy (Edward) for a boy and would maybe have Helen for a girl (after DH's mum) I like Juliet too, but DH isn't keen. Kitty is lovely. What names do you already have?

Our DD is Daisy Amelia (DH really liked Daisy and i really liked Amelia, so i let him choose the first name)

Doodleydoo · 20/01/2010 18:00

Love the classics for a boy, something a little more adventurous for a girl, no g names but plenty of boys and the ones saved up from last time!

Had booking in today and they have me booked into the hospital I didn't want to go to, and have to have consultant appts because of IUG issues, pre-eclampsia AND emcs last time which is a little annoying! I also haven't got a clue when I am going to get my scan through but my MW said that I HAVE to go to this one and won't be able to change it - which is all fine but I only work 2 days so if on one of those am really going to have to come up with some bollocks, also just want it to be done so I can see what is going on! I am sure I didn't have this much stress with the last pg!!!!!

MS has been very minor today so hoping that it is subsiding BUT then worry because I don't have it iyswim!

Also MW told me I am obese, again the scales were 7lbs more than mine at home and I know I am overweight but quite depressed about it........its not like I can't eat is it, I just am finding it really difficult to find the energy to move more. In addition to that I said I was going to be doing more excercise and she told me that I needed to be careful so what is it then? Grr. from the fat one.

liahgenisuptheduff · 20/01/2010 18:02

hehe doodley I'm obese too according to Wii fit, (stupid invention)

I am carrying 2 and half stone extra but not too worried and I'll shift it after this baby.

star I really like Harrison and Leon

Love Martha too, (can't remember who said that)

We have

Amy
Henry
George
Emily
Annie

Doodleydoo · 20/01/2010 18:15

Ooh George - I want one!

I really like Martha too!

The thing is I am obese according to them but I am a size 14 and 5ft 7, yes I agree I am overweight but I see some people out on the street and I think "how can you class me in the same fatness????????????" I admit that if I was a stone lighter or half and inch taller I would not be on the obese line but there we go - she could have said you are teetering towards.......!

I am useless at shifting the pounds so when these bumps are here can you give me some tips?

liahgenisuptheduff · 20/01/2010 18:21

when I had dc2, I used weight watchers and cos I was bf I got 7 extra points. It was actually really hard to use up all my points too so never felt hungry. I lost 2 stone in about 6 mths.

I'm a sz 14 too and 5ft 5. Agree with seeing others and thinking, fgs I'm not that bad.

My downfalls are I know bad diet, (ie snacking on crap) and little exercise, when I cut out the crap and take more exercise it drops off much more.

bigmuther65 · 20/01/2010 18:45

nice to see some of the names giving me a few ideas at the moment i am liking
Lily Rose for a girl
Harley for a boy

My energy levels are at a all time low currently have a sick note for 2 wks due to terrible sickness ,so at least have not got work to worry about.
