Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Aussieng · 12/01/2010 18:47

Hi All. Going to post again in a bit with the details of my scan earlier today but wanted to say sorry to see you go to Geo and also that I think you have a wonderful attitude (if that is the right word). If you do decide to try for #3 then I wish you lots of luck. I wonder about those who posted early on and have not been around for a while but never want to say anything in case of jinxing things .

On that note welcome back Vino. It's nice to have you back in the mid 30's camp

UnderneathThestream echo what Kaylo says. TThere is always hope. My BF has the most adorable & bright lo after really bad bleeding aat 8, 12 and 15 weeks and no pg symptoms whatsoever. Take is easy until Thursday and fingers crossed for you.

Aussieng · 12/01/2010 18:51

PS missus - I was told a full bladder for this scan and my notes were the first things asked for (in a tone which suggested I would be sent home if I did not have them - next appt date was put into my notes and the results of the scan.

With ref to the full bladder it was advised but due to being able to keep almost nothing down this morning I only had about half a cup of tea prior to the scan and it was fine. I really needed a poo though and DH was very amused when I said that I was worried that the poo was all that would show up on the scan

Alicetheinvisible · 12/01/2010 19:15

Hello all

Geo good luck with the next one

underthestream fingers crossed for you.

So, got home from the hospital an hour ago and i am already in bed - shattered!

They have no idea why my lips are going purple for long periods of time, or why it has only come on with the pregnancy. I have had more bloods and an ECG done. The bloods hadn't arrived back by the time they said i could leave but not too worried about them as i had blood taken last week anyway. The ECG however is abnormal, the Dr thinks it is normal for me though iyswim? Apparently there is a small amount of the population who have this condition (not life threatening) where their heart rate(or whatever shows up on ecg) is that of a much younger person, so in my case a child. Not sure why (or what it is called) but it shouldn't be the reason for the purple lips. Still have to see the cardiologist in feb though. They were not worried about the baby and will carry on with that side of things as normal. TBH, not a lot they could do at this stage wrt the baby anyhow. Hopefully hear from the MW in the next week or so and then a scan in a couple of weeks.

Chulita · 12/01/2010 19:27

alice I hope someone comes up with a reason soon, must be irritating not knowing.
geo, echo the good luck with the next one!

I was told a full bladder for my scan (it read drink 1 litre of water an hour before) so I did exactly as they said. When I got there I had to pee so badly it was painful so I went and had a mini wee beforehand just so I could stand up, then got in and the lady said my bladder was far too full and could I go and wee half of it out - how do you wee out half?! - I tried anyway, went back and she said it was still a bit too full but she'd try...so why say a litre if that's actually too much????? (and yes, it needs that many question marks) Apparently some people turn up having not had anything and it's very hard to see their baby ... obviously not many people are stupid enough to drink 2 pints of water in 10 minutes

Alicetheinvisible · 12/01/2010 19:31

I was told a pint Chulita last pg, and i have the smallest bladder in the world so legged it out to the loo before they had even printed the pic off

Chulita · 12/01/2010 19:36

A pint...I could have handled that I think. Chatting to a lady today and she had her scan last week, they told her she didn't need to drink anything because it didn't make any difference...different hospitals, different rules - funny old world!

UnderneathTheStream · 12/01/2010 19:38

Aussieng - did your bf also have cramping though - that seems to be the thing that puts the lid on it as far as I can see - spotting/bleeding is ok, cramping is ok - just not both together!

Ah well, shall wait and see on Thursday - really not sure what to do about work as I mostly stand up and it feels worse when stood up..

Alice - that sounds really intruiging! Hope it gets sorted

girlsyearapart · 12/01/2010 19:53

For the first scan yes to full bladder but at my hospital you don't get your notes until after the 20 week scan anyway. that must be different in different places then if you were asked aussie.

I am sooo tired all the time. Currently sitting in a messy front room with a machine full of wet washing and can't actually be bothered to do anything about it..

alice they sometimes don't have an answer to these things, when I was in for that week (so breathless I could barely talk) they ran tests and still hadn't found an answer by the end.

vinocollapso · 12/01/2010 19:55

Under - the game isn't over yet - fingers crossed there is nothing to worry about, and let us know how you get on. Good luck and take it easy. Have you got someone with you that can look after you if needs be?

Bouncing, Ausie, thanks, it's nice to see you all again. My scan is Thursday so I'm hoping to see a proper baby this time, and not the jelly bean I saw at 8 weeks!

Alice - hope you find an answer! Are you feeling much colder at all? I only ask because I really feel the cold now and didn't before.

Right - 8pm - bed time! Hurrah! xx

Alicetheinvisible · 12/01/2010 20:27

Not colder really, just my internal thermostat seems to be on the blink sometimes feel over hot and sometimes feel very cold.

I must stop reading threads with food in them! So far in the last hour i have craved pink fondant fancies, semolina and rice pudding(cold) damn these pg hormones/cravings!

Doodleydoo · 12/01/2010 20:46

So feeling the cold too. Last Pg I was hot all the time, this time cold...........

Feel really rough today, have had to dig my car out of the snow and came inside absolutely cream crackered. Had to turn on beebies for dd and have a snooze. bad and neglectful mother I know but I really couldn't carry on any more.

Feeling a bit rough food wise too, don't think the burger did me any good but have had several satsumas, some lovely kale, salad and some green beans so nearly at 5 (if I count the oj and the potato!)

Actually wanted to say got some Spatone and have started to perk up already, can highly recommend it just need to use it for a couple of days and hope the breathlessness goes.

Under I am crossing my fingers for you
Geo seconding that you are a brave woman and good luck with the future, hope to see you back soon.

Boos75 · 12/01/2010 21:08

Geo am so sorry to hear your news. Best of luck if you do decide to try again.

Beneaththestram sorry to hear what you're going through. Will keep everything crossed for you and send positive vibes.

I've been a bit quiet as work has been busy. Am feeling ok - started to feel a little sick if I've not eaten for a while but am going to have to start monitoring how much I eat as am really eating way too much! I have my scan tomorrow evening - will be 7 wks 3 days. Am excited but also very nervous, especially as I think I saw a little bit of what I think was blood in my mucous an hour ago. Sorry if TMI! Am trying to keep balanced about it though and bearing in mind things people have posted about bleeding during pregnancy and it being ok. I've had lower back pain too and light cramps but I tend to have those once in a while. So I'll let you know how it goes.

BunnyBaby · 12/01/2010 22:03

Hello kaylo - managed loo sleep as we have flexible desking and for all people know I could be in a meeting!

geo so sorry to hear your news and as mentioned before too many of us are leaving too early

watching celeb bb and pondering bed

alys78 · 13/01/2010 08:16

two days off work woohoo!!
My thoughts are with all of you going througha difficult time right now xx(((())))

Off into town with my mum and sister and 7 week old nephew, a bit of retail therapy might perk me up. Well the DH said I was looking tired, so I took his advice and am going to rest for a couple of days.

DH has started to have all his jabs for going out to Afghanistan, so it's all starting to get a little real now, we are both focusing on DS's and out little peanut to take our minds off everything.

Snack bag packed for town, gone from not eating anything to eating every fifteen minutes, already manaaged a bowl of cereal and a Bacon sandwhich, and thats before I start on the school run.

Lovely baby thoughts to everyone, take care in the ice and snow xx

bouncingblueberries · 13/01/2010 08:58

oh it's snowing thick and fast in London town this morning! Does make it very pretty and so unusual to see snow in the centre of town!

underneath fingers crossed for you. Hopefully you will see that lovely little baby with a nice strong hearbeat. Quite a few of us (me included) have had bleeds, and everything has turned out ok at the scan.

Finally got my scan date through - 25th Jan. Seems ages away but at least I've got a date now. I'll be 13 weeks exactly. Dithering a bit over what to tell work. Do I just tell them it's a scan and get it over and done with or do I simply say it's an appointment? Don't know what to do! To confuse things even more, dh was going to take the day off work and we were all going to spend the day together but I had a bit of a heated discussion with the nursery last night and now I'm worried they won't want to be flexible and swap ds's days for me! So dh and I might just have to put ds to nursery as usual and then head back to work after the scan (presuming it all goes well of course). Poo. Wanted ds to be there and be involved.

Sorry, I'm wittering on! Have a good day girls!

Chulita · 13/01/2010 09:16

blueberries - if I were you I'd tell work...but that's just me. I'm of the opinion that it's going to come out sooner or later, and 13 weeks is into the 'safer' stage. With DS's nursery you might have to be extra nice to them this week
I was going to post last night but DH was feeling a bit needy and one thing led to another Ok, totally and shamelessly TMI but I can't get 'satisfied' iykwim since getting pregnant hardly seems worth the hassle!

Aussieng · 13/01/2010 09:28

Underneath sorry for not replying last night. DH finished work early and so I had an early night (just to sleep)!

I don't know about my friends 8 week bleed which I expect is the one you want to know about but I still have the text she sent me at the time of the 12 week bleed and that one did involve bad cramping. Everything crossed for you. Hope you can take it easy today and don't have to spend too much time on your feet.

bouncingblueberries · 13/01/2010 09:28

Chulita

[whispers] you need a rabbit

Chulita · 13/01/2010 10:08

Heheh, I have a rabbit - even that is failing me at the mo [melodramatic sigh]

bouncingblueberries · 13/01/2010 10:17

Chulita that is tragic, tragic news!

MrsS77 · 13/01/2010 11:22

Hi all -

I'm a late joiner to this thread as technically I am due Sept 2nd - however I found out on Monday that my darling little bean is in fact TWO darling little beans(!), and so am expecting my EDD to be brought forward into August - so mind if I join you?

Just 7 weeks right now!

ElusiveMoose · 13/01/2010 11:25

Welcome, MrsS77. If you copy the list of stats you can add yourself to the list. Are these your first DC?

Well, that makes my prediction of two sets of twins on the thread - so no more, please. Especially not for me .

bigmuther65 · 13/01/2010 11:25

This thread is moving so fast hard to keep up with everything.Had my midwife visit Monday she was really nice.Told i am having a high risk pregnancy so will have to alternated with consultant and midwife appointments, had my heart set on a home birth but that now looks unlikely. My sickness has been so bad the last 2 days think i have a bug as well as i also have the squits feel so alwful that it brought me to tears last night feeling so sorry for myself.
