mrsZaC · 12/01/2010 12:13

yikes doodley must have been bad if people stopped!

do you think it's something I should get checked out, or u reakon just one of those things?

Bewler · 12/01/2010 12:23

Thank you Driedapricots and Aussieng for your (albeit conflicting advice). I am going to go, take it easy and ski within my limits. No moguls or black runs and plenty of hot choccie!

PMSL at Acatcalledfidget - bonkers

Really for Twinkletoes and glad you have some good support around you. I hope you'll pop up on another threat soon.

Alice good luck. Fingers crossed everything is ok.

I told my boss this morning due to meetings starting to clash with my blood and scan appointments in a couple of weeks. He looked suitably shocked which gave me much pleasure! He is going to curtail my business travel so I think he is going to be very supportive. I'm quite relieved he knows so he can stop giving me funny looks when he catches me feeling up my boobs and scoffing snack a jacks at my desk!

BunnyBaby · 12/01/2010 12:38

I also had palpitations the other day which I've not had for years since I was a big coffee drinker.

Just polished off lamb chilli and rice with fruit salad and ahem, 2 happy faces biscuits! Chicken now tastes raw to me like it did last time. So I am now beef and lamb and avocado girl! ( not all together mind)

booked tickets online for babyshow at excel 19th-21st Feb. Found a code which got me 2x tickets for 23 bit can't find it again doh!

Aussieng · 12/01/2010 12:42

Hi Bewler well I guess it wouldn't be a pregnancy thread without conflicting advice

Alice - I hope everything is ok. It all sounds very odd and worrying. Fingers crossed.

KayloHalo · 12/01/2010 13:01

Hi Girls

Twinkle I'm so sorry! Hope you find yourself on another ante-natal thread very very soon!

Aussie how exciting you have your scan!!! Hoping to get mine soon, as I'm 11+3 now and stil don't have a date

Alice Thinking of you - I hope you're both ok!!

Starshaker I agree would be nice to see some more twins but I'd rather it not be me, please. Are you coming to terms with yours now?

Bunny I know what you mean about the chicken, just not happening anymore - really I'm just wanting spicy food at the moment. Chilli, tikka masala, etc.

Palpitation/breathlessness I'M WITH YOU!! I thought it was just me as I don't remember getting it with dd and ds, not until later anyway - and that was because my blood pressure was up?

I finally got in touch with my midwife this morning after I had a missed call from her - she can't book me in for a while yet but she's gonna see me on Friday at a drop-in clinic so she can sort scans and stuff. So thats a relief.

I also have dentist tomorrow hate hate HATE the dentist!!!!

love to all. xxxx

OP posts:
bouncingblueberries · 12/01/2010 13:26

OMG! Breathlessness! Me too! I do have asthma, but this is a totally different feeling. So think I'll follow everyone's advice and start stocking up on the Spatone.

Also have a stinking cold today. Started eating my sandwich that dh lovingly prepared last night but had to stop half way through. It's not that it was making me feel sick, I was just struggling to actually want to put it in my mouth So weird.

So I hopped over to Pret and got some Saag Aloo soup - nice and spicy! Highly recommend it for those spice cravings Kaylo. That's been one of my main food themes since last Thursday. Spice, spice and more spice. Yummy!

soontobefatnat · 12/01/2010 13:28

Alice - hope you get to the bottom of the problem and that everything's ok. Fingers crossed!

So, I'm feeling rank, tired and furious at everyone in the office today. A lot of smelly lunches going on!

This may, of course, have something to do with my appalling diet. I've eaten a packet of Frazzles (am currently obsessed with crisps from the 80s!) plus a cheese and marmite sandwich. That's basically a salt sandwich, with a side helping of salt. Great! Fruit and veg seem so unappealling at the mo though!

Quick question for you all - DH and I live in a v small one bed flat and we're going to have to move before Aug. We can't afford to buy in our current neighbourhood (.5 miles from Kings) and may have to move about 5 miles away. Do you think I will have to shift hospitals? I was hoping for a home birth, but not sure if the midwives would travel that far... What do you think?

ElusiveMoose · 12/01/2010 13:37

Twinkletoes, so sorry to hear your sad news . Very best of luck for when you feel ready to try again.

BigMomma, my MW said that the results from the blood test/nuchal should come through by post in about two weeks, but if you come back as high risk for Downs or with any other problems then they'll let you know by phone within two days. Out of interest, the literature for this area now says that they consider 'high risk' a 1 in 150 chance of Downs, whereas last time I'm pretty certain it was 1 in 250. Anyone know if this just differs from area to area?

Feeling a bit better about the weight I've put on, as my pregnancy book says that whereas you start looking 'obviously pregnant' at about 20 weeks first time round, it's more like 14 weeks with your second. I'm 10+3 today, and although I'm definitely looking fatter, I don't think I'm 'obviously pregnant' yet. So maybe it is just normal, and there isn't a whole five-a-side team of 'em in there...

Have done slightly better on the volume of food today, though I did have a very naughty omelette for lunch which was definitely on the runny side. It's so cruel - they say you don't need to eat any more than normal until the third trimester, but if that's true then why do I feel hungry ALL THE TIME??

girlsyearapart · 12/01/2010 14:34

twinkletoes sorry to hear your news.

nervous sorry to say but my first was born on her due date and my sisters first was born 9 weeks early so they're not all late!

about the breathlessness- I am also breathless a lot of the time. Didn't have it in either other pregnancy but when I was about 30 weeks with dd1 I was admitted with breathlessness and stayed for a week

Doodleydoo · 12/01/2010 14:35

Just had a big fat burger and chips - and now feel sick - was homemade though so does that make it healthier - and chips are 1 of my 5 a day aren't they?

Bewler · 12/01/2010 14:47

Doodley nice try but I think only sweet potatoes count towards your 5 a day. My DH refuses to believe this and insists that potatoes in any form are one of the 5. Lots of other nutrients in potatoes though so definitely justifiable!

Geocentric · 12/01/2010 15:01

Hi everyone! Sadly removing myself from the August list... I haven't posted since the very beginning as things have been a bit iffy and now we've found out the baby stopped developing at 6 weeks. But I'm fine about it - I've had "that feeling" all along that things weren't right. Wishing you all safe and happy pregnancies and I shall be stopping by in August to read about all the arrivals.

BunnyBaby · 12/01/2010 15:08

geocentric so sorry to hear your news. It would appear that far too many have had to leave this thread early

Geocentric · 12/01/2010 15:14

Thanks everyone! I'm ok about it, really. However, this surprise #3 has really made us think; we were all so excited about it... So I may be back in the ante-natal boards eventually...

vinocollapso · 12/01/2010 15:14

Hello everyone - I am so sorry for not posting for what has been a shockingly long time, but what with moving house before Christmas and the snow, it's been busy, busy, busy around here!

I hope everyone is ok - lots of love to those who may not have made it this far (I've only skimmed the last 15 pages, so sorry if I'm being callous).

I'm now 12.3 weeks! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone and that trimester 2 is looming! Asides from the evening sickness and tiredness, I feel pretty good.

So, nice to see you all again, and I promise to keep up this time! Hope everyone else is feeling good.

xx

KayloHalo · 12/01/2010 15:17

Geo I'm so sorry! Glad you're doing ok, hope you get your healthy baby soon xx

Doodley liking your sneaky 5 a day style

vinocollapso · 12/01/2010 15:23

Geo - so sorry to hear that - be kind to yourself and take it easy. Before you know it you'll be back here again.

bouncingblueberries · 12/01/2010 15:30

So sorry Geo hope you're back with good news soon.

Welcome back vino! Have you had your scan yet then?

BunnyBaby · 12/01/2010 15:53

Just had a sneaky 30min sleep in a toilet cubicle! Now have a red dot on my forehead from where it was resting on my arm

KayloHalo · 12/01/2010 16:04

LOL @ Bunny How did you get away with that?

OP posts:
UnderneathTheStream · 12/01/2010 17:48

I think I?ll be leaving the thread soon ? as well as my symptoms disappearing last week I now have cramping, red spotting and a lot of mucus.
I called my midwife (who I still haven?t met) and she?s got me in for a scan Thursday morning?

Is there any hope?

KayloHalo · 12/01/2010 18:10

UnderneathTheStream Theres always hope!!! I'm sorry you're going through this uncertainty - fingers crossed for good news on Thursday

OP posts:
UnderneathTheStream · 12/01/2010 18:25

Thanks Kaylo

Missus84 · 12/01/2010 18:26

Finally got my scan date - next Tuesday the 19th. Had to call the hospital in the end as it seems my letter got lost in the post. It does mean I didn't get any info about it though - do I need to take my notes with me? And do I need a full bladder for this one?
