sparkle, the same is happening to me at the moment. i am due at around the same time as you, so I am hoping it is just because it is the time I would be having my period. I am having a scan at the EPU on Thursday though.

Congrats on twins Starshaker!

Chulita · 11/01/2010 20:45

So sorry twinkletoes - I hope you have a reason to hop on another antenatal thread very soon. Take care

starshaker · 11/01/2010 20:55

shouldnt be too long before we find out if there are more twins. Sorry if you feel like im jinxing you but surely i cant be the only 1 having twins lol. I did say 2 after all and i always like being right lol

BunnyBaby · 11/01/2010 21:38

Twinkletoes that is really sad news for you and your much wanted precious little one. Wishing you lots of cuddles until the time is right for you again

aendr · 11/01/2010 21:57

twinkletoes sorry to hear your news.

sparkle and squash/squeeze me too, and similar dates to you both. I had this last time, 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks, like clockwork, and went on to have a gorgeous little boy so I'm trying to be more sanguine about it this time.

Morning ladies,

Sorry to hear your sad news twinkletoes big HUGS!

Working from home today as I have finally managed to pin down my DP to hold my hand for the blood test appointment at the hospital later today. Do they do anything else? Also have a booking in appointment with the MW for the 27th Jan which isn't too far away.

Feeling very fat, nothing fits very well and finding clothes to wear for work is becoming a real problem. I feel sick all day everyday now .

Enough about me, how you all doing? anyone else having odd dreams still..? The twins thing is playing on my mind lol

Doodleydoo · 12/01/2010 09:09

Morning girls!

So tired today and full on day at work, although on the plus side dd soooo happy to go to nursery this morning!

Got home to a message about booking in next wednesday - didn't realise it was an hour long one though but am hoping it goes well! Then will hope to have a scan date given.

9 Weeks Today and am definitely chubbier and have put on weight which is v annoying - thought that wasn't meant to happen until 12 weeks but 2-4lbs more than last week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have real urge for jacobs crackers and dairylea..........but have only just got to work........... and someone in the office smells weird today!
So sorry Twinkletoes for your loss.

starshaker · 12/01/2010 09:23

i had a dream about millies cookies again last night. Think i need to find somebody prepared to go to glasgow for me and get some

Doodleydoo · 12/01/2010 09:49

See if they will post them out to you!

Now you have me thinking of cookies too.........

My satsuma looks pretty unexciting now.

Aussieng · 12/01/2010 09:53

Twinkletoes so sorry to hear your news. Take good care of yourself and enjoy that bottle of red. Hope to hear from you soon o say you are now on another ante-natal thread.

vix206 · 12/01/2010 09:56

For the ladies with spotting around 8-10 weeks, I found this reason cited on several medical websites:

"One of the more common reasons for a brown discharge during pregnancy, especially if it is late in the first trimester is that your body is getting rid of the older blood remains. As your body grows, the original blood used to protect junior is no longer needed. So aside from starting a heart attack in mom as she panics at the sight of the discharge, it is perfectly normal."

Aussieng · 12/01/2010 09:56

I'm leaving in 10 mins for my 12 week scan and I'm astonished at how sh*t scared I am. I thought that I was pretty relaxed about the whole thing (que sera sera etc) but I got about 2 hours sleep last night stressing about the whole thing and am awake this morning feeling very sickly (after 2 good days too!) an nervous. Doesn't help that my boss has just pushed back my 10 am conference call to 10.15 (I was already having to do this from the car - now I shall be virtually in the natal unit )

SmileyMylee · 12/01/2010 09:57

Ah yes, weird dreams - I remember that with my other pregnancies. Mine haven't started yet but I know they will.

For all the first time mums - something I did with my other children which you might want to try. I kept a little book and logged down things like - cravings I had, silly things I did whilst pregnant with them (I got very, very forgetful), funny dreams and then once they were born I write down funny annecdotes of what they did, first words etc. Each child has their own book and they love me reading from it as it is just about me and them.

neenz · 12/01/2010 10:30

I have been having wierd dreams too - last night I had one about Darren Ferguson (Preston manager and Alex Ferguson's son! ). I was a bit saucy too , but I think that is only cos my friend had a bit of a thing with him once so that must have been on my mind for some reason!

Twinkle, so sorry for your loss. Enjoy the wine, it's what kept me sane when I had a m/c.

Starshaker, I was the only one who had twins on my June 08 AN thread - would be lovely to have more on this thread as long as it is not me!

Sam, I will have my scans at Southport I think and baby at Ormskirk. I had scans and babies at Ormskirk last time but only cos it was twins - usually in this area its Southport for scans so I am assuming that's where I'll go.

Didn't feel too sick yesterday morning so felt a bit worried but then I felt dreadful yesterday afternoon and evening. I think I prefer to be sick and not worried - just.

For anyone having brown/red discharge, you can ring the hospital and ask for the Early Pregnancy Unit - they should be able to offer you a scan (or reassure you that there is nothing to worry about).

Doodleydoo · 12/01/2010 10:34

Anyone else really breathless? I feel like I am asthmatic (I am not so am assuming that is what it feels like!) and just can't get the air - daren't stand up in the office in case I plummet like a stone!

BunnyBaby · 12/01/2010 10:51

Doodleydoo I had this and was amarmic though not showing in bloods something to do with oxygenation of blood. Silly me left it to 25 weeks when I could barely move / breath. This time I take two sachets of Spatone each morning in pure orange, with high dose vitamin c. Avoid iron tablets they constipate you and are not absorbed. Spatone is liquid, no constipation and properly absorbed. You will be like a new woman after 3 days - promise

Doodleydoo · 12/01/2010 11:01

Bunny - thank you so much - will be at boots looking for it later on! It isn't all the time but bugger me is it a pain in the chuffer! Spatone it is!

Alicetheinvisible · 12/01/2010 11:22

Hello ladies

waiting for DH to get home so he can take me to A&E. Dr spoke to obstetrician on phone during my appointment this morning and they want me in. To do with being pale and lips still going blue. Hb is 12 so within normal range, oxygen saturation in blood normal, heart/chest sound normal, heart pressure normal. Could have something to do with my heart, the baby, the placenta - no one seems to know tbh. Looks like i will be in there all day, so DD will have to go to work with Dh. Have put some biscuits and a book in my bag to keep me occupied.

mrsZaC · 12/01/2010 11:22

Hey ladies,

So sorry twinkletoes hope your hopping on the pregnancy train again soon

bigmomma re: cutting down on carbs, I don't do that well with bread etc. as I have a bit of a gluten intorrerance, however i did read that your supposed to carb-up during pregnancy, about 50-60% of your diet apparently? (DH isn't enjoying the after-effects of this!)

acatcalled.. I laughed out loud at your knicker checking situation, I'm always examining what's going on down there and looks suspiciously at anything that happens to be in there!

Been propery yucky the last couple of days, the thought of eating just turns my stomach but finding once the food is in my gob it ain't that bad.. hmmm. I totally think that somehow you feel better when your feeling ill tho

mrsZaC · 12/01/2010 11:25

oh rubbish alice good luck darlin, hope that all is hunky dory, take care.

Forgot to say, is anyone getting palpatiations, I keep getting them on and off, especially in the morning and got them for ages yesterday after walking home.

neenz · 12/01/2010 11:33

Good luck Alice, hope all is well.

Isn't Mn great? You come on with a problem and there is always someone who knows what to do/take etc to cure it

Don't know anythign about palpitations though MrsZac, sorry. I am sure someone else will be along in a minute to help you though!

Re cutting out carbs, just be sure to keep your fibre intake up cos constipation is no fun in early pregnancy! I had it bad first time round so I make sure I eat some prunes and lots of wholemeal bread every day. I am eating so much it would be hard not to get enough fibre I think!

bouncingblueberries · 12/01/2010 11:59

Good luck aussieng!

bouncingblueberries · 12/01/2010 12:02

Oh alice hope it's nothing to worry about and you're looked after. Good luck.

Doodleydoo · 12/01/2010 12:06

MrsZac, I think that palpatations are similar to the breathlessness as had one episode of both and near fainting (people actually stopped to see if I was ok as was out shopping at the time!)
