beckyg123 · 28/01/2010 09:48

I really enjoyed my swim last night- Emster i'm doing similar distances but have found it difficult to build up over last few weeks! Seems to be getting easier now and i hope to keep it up throughout whole pregnancy.

I have put off being waxed, i never have needed to think about it as have always been quite neat! However i have noticed over the last few weeks things are spreading!!!! Agh! I had to pluck from just under my belly button the other day Is this pregnancy or age??? Just turned 28!

MS is back! Not had any for ages but found myself with my head down the loo this morning feeling very sorry for myself!

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/01/2010 10:58

becky I have that too, ive always had slight hair on my belly but pregnancy can make it darker and much more obv and I look like a hairy bear atm its awful.

emster with regards to your 16 week app I had mine yesterday and I was 15+3 weeks and they found the heartbeat and Ive got an anterior placenta so I really didnt think they'd find it but they did so you never know going next Mon might be fine.

fairy472 · 28/01/2010 11:52

stac14 yeah co codamol definately better than paracetamol, least headaches are gone!

beckyg123 · 28/01/2010 12:05

fairy472 thats great about the headache cure!!! will bear this in mind

beckyg123 · 28/01/2010 12:08

DH21 LOL at the hairy bear!!! I swear these are new hairs appearing - new ones every day lol!

stac14 · 28/01/2010 12:24

dh21 i to am a hairy bear, it just seems to be sprouting all over the place lol. Starting to feel like a man.

becky my ms has come back today as well, but apparantly it can come and go throughout pregnancy (bad times). Good on you with the swimming

fairy thats great news hun, my gp was reluctant to give me them for back and groin pain saying if its spd they may have to build it up and keep taking paracetamol, bugger lol

OP posts:
Emster30 · 28/01/2010 12:56

I am absolutely shattered today despite an early night and a good night's sleep, plus am stiff and achy - think I might have overdone the swimming! Just a few short months ago that would barely have felt like a workout at all.

So glad the co-codamol has worked for you Fairy - lots of people seem to suffer badly with headaches in pregnancy. I have had a few but each time I've taken one paracetamol and that has cleared them, so they aren't bad ones.

Wonderstuff · 28/01/2010 15:01

Been off line for a few days so need to catch up, hope you are all doing good.

I am fed up because my mate was supposed to be meeting up with me today at 2, tis now 3 and have heard nothing from her. On the plus side dd is having a nice long nap atm and I have all the nice brownies I brought to myself.. She is the only mum I know in the new village and I haven't seen her in yonks. Annoying.

PG wise am feeling fairly good, am v. tired and still have mad feta cheese craving. Bump now v. obvious but have some nice mat clothes.

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/01/2010 15:26

I know what thats like wonderstuff my friend was supposed to come to mine a couple of a weeks ago and they didnt and I was very annoyed and they didnt text or anything, its like but you never know she might come bursting through your door any min! Heres to hoping, enjoy the brownies

Wonderstuff · 28/01/2010 15:41

Just got a message from her on FB, seems that when she said 'next Thurs' she ment 'week on Thurs' silly me. Oh well dd miraculously still asleep, house looking half decent, off to demolish the brownies

stac14 · 28/01/2010 16:47

Sounds like a great afternoon to me wonder hows the brownies?

I am bored stiff at the moment really need to find something to do with myself. My day has consited of housework, shops, going to school and getting ds a haircut. Definately need to do something, running out of conversation for people lol Any ideas? How did the crochet go for you chulita?

OP posts:
Chulita · 28/01/2010 17:28

Crochet's ok, all I can make are blankets or scarves - nothing exciting and the stitches are all different shapes. but...there's a teach yourself to knit magazine out which I got and it's got loads of newborn easy patterns so I might jump off the crochet ship and try that instead (and there's a cute little hat that I could try in DD's size too) Ah! I'm a granny before my time lol.

Send me some brownie wonderstuff, puhleeze!

Wonderstuff · 28/01/2010 17:37

All gone

Haven't seen the teach yourself to knit mag (do love a bit of knitting) I have a book called 'Easy Baby Knits' which is good (though having said that I have 2 unfinished cardies due to it underestimating the amount of wool you need )

WinterMadness · 28/01/2010 18:00

Headaches, headaches. Sick of headaches

Chulita · 28/01/2010 18:16

for you winter, wish I had some wonder recipe for you! Chocolate?

WinterMadness · 28/01/2010 18:21

they're relentless I'm willing to give chocolate a good try though

violetbubbles · 28/01/2010 18:31

Just wanted to share my discovery of the day with you. I've just had McCain Home Fries with coleslaw - it tasted AMAZING!!! Definitely recommend!

violetbubbles · 28/01/2010 18:35

Wonder - I had really bad headaches last week and nothing seemed to help...until I started drinking a ridiculous amount of water. A huge glass every hour - from the moment I wake up. Could be a coincidence, but as soon as I increased my water intake (I was already drinking the recommended amount by the way) the headaches improved! Might be worth a try...

Wonderstuff · 28/01/2010 18:49

Chips and coleslaw sounds fantastic Might be sending dh out later

WinterMadness · 28/01/2010 18:51

Thanks violet (I assume that was meant for me? Lol) but I drink sh*t loads of water, always have. My Mam's convinced that as I didn't have these when pregnant with ds, and she had headaches when pregnant with me, it means I must be having a girl Really struggling for boy names so hope she's right!

orangefizz · 28/01/2010 19:25

violet i'm with you on the coleslaw, a few weeks ago i was eating it by the tub! Haven't tried it with chips though - have to give that a go!

I don't want to speak to soon, but I THINK my MS might finally have gone away, thats 2 days now without feeling like pants, its fab, like i've been given a new lease of life, i've cooked and done the washing up without really thinking about it, which is usually a major chore, hooray!! Time for some celebratory coleslaw

kittykat77 · 28/01/2010 20:06

now strangely enough coleslaw is one of the things I have really gone off since being pg! Used to love it with pizza, but haven't been able to touch the stuff lately!

God I have had such a pants day at work. Went in today (only work Thurs and Fri btw) and maternity cover in our department had done alot of the work that I normally do. Cue very long and boring day consisting of me trying to pretend I am busy when actually have v. little to do. Roll on the maternity leave - I hate being bored!

I know its a bit early, but is everyone planning on going back to work post-baby, or is anyone thinking of giving up?

WinterMadness · 28/01/2010 20:12

I'm planning on a career change kk. If all works to plan I'll take 10 months off work, go back for 2 (meanwhile handing my notice in) then start my teacher training.

That's the plan anyway!

kittykat77 · 28/01/2010 20:51

I keep half thinking about teaching winter. What age group are you going for? It's a perfect job to fit in around the kids, especially when they are school age.

I am currently working in finance, and I do enjoy that type of work, my job just hasn't really worked since I had the kids and went part time. I was just thinking how nice it would be to not have to go back to my old job which I am not particularly enjoying at the moment! Am just hoping something else comes along by the end of my maternity leave, otherwise it will be a hard decision and things would be quite tight if I didn't work.
