Hey dh21 maybe the doc can give you something for your sinuses, or the pharmacy

ladygagalot nothing worse than a crap day hun, I have had lots of pains too so try not to worry. Think daily stress is normal hun its when it gets worse you should speak to someone

emster my drink of choice would be budweiser so know what you mean about a nice cold one lol

I have been wearing loads of baggy stuff but the maternit jeans are still to big and to be honest my normal jeans are still hanging but thats due to the ms making me loose weight no doubt now my appetite is back i will start gaining weight again xx

stac If its still bad this time tomorrow I might go there and see what my doc says. I had it yesterday but was better by the evening, today its still as bad as this morning.
Also regarding the alcohol, im with you on the budweiser!

Emster30 · 26/01/2010 22:35

I find the under the bump ones, the ones with no fastening, just elastic, do slide down a bit, but a belt keeps them in place. The ones with fastenings are fine. I've got the elastic inner bits on the tightest fittings right now.

stac14 · 27/01/2010 09:19

good morning everyone! What a cold wet day, think i will spend the day on the couch lol. Does anyone have plans for the day? I've got the docs at 4pm, but thats about it

All that talk of drinks yesterday... i would have loved a long vodka last night! Would have to be perfect tho, with just the right amount of angistori bitter and lime

stac i also have Dr appt today. Its an antenatal one so really hoping to hear heart beat

TSC hope you have a good day today, glas to see your not as stressed about baby! I'm sure hosp will have better equipment!

oh chulita sounds like a tough night that many of us will be experiencing in the near future! Thanks for the insight!!! My DH is quite good through the night, fingers crossed that continues when its our turn for teething

Chulita · 27/01/2010 09:58

It's only cos I bf'd so he never had to get up when she was little. Now he doesn't get up at all, I didn't get more than an hour at a time last night so can't really get my brain in gear!
Have fun at the museum tsc!
And for all those having a first baby, I'd recommend getting your OH to help night settling even if you do bf, otherwise they never will

beckyg123 · 27/01/2010 10:06

thanks for the tip chulita, will definately do that! I am a little worried about night times as i am hopeless during the night! I can do some really silly things and appear awake, but have no recollection the next day! think baby will be safer at night with DH rather than me! I want to BF but will prob express for night feeds!

stac14 · 27/01/2010 10:11

becky mm long vodka been a while since i've had one of them lol. Dont think my gp will do the dopler but i have the hospital on monday so not to bothered.

chulita thats good advice. My ds's dad did nothing to help which only made my pnd worse. Luckily dp is fantastic with me and the kids so i know he will help. But i suppose time will tell lol

Hi everyone! Just back from my 16 week mw appointment, there was a student midwife in with us and she found the heartbeat very quickly with the doppler, it was lovely to hear it, its really reassuring. My top of my womb is just under my belly button.
Also all my blood tests came back fine too

As for night feeds, DP will DEF be doing his fair share, im really hoping to breast feed but will express for him to night feeds too. The trouble with DP is though he needs telling about 1000 times how to do something before he feels comfortable doing it on his own (he still asks me how long he needs to put the soup in the microwave ) so I can just see that he'll wake me up to help him anyway. Sigh...

My nose is still really stuffed up but mw said I can use olbas oil, I sneezed 6 times in a row this morning!

stac14 · 27/01/2010 10:28

tsc think your being reasonable bout the rules you have set, nothing different from what anyone else has to do. As much as your family are supporting her i bet they wont put up with the things she is doing to you, so no doubt she will be back soon hun.

Thats great news dh21 know what you mean bout dp asking things a million times but he will soon learn hun.

Woo hoo! Just back fro Drs and got to hear the heart beat - was like a little train chugging away!!!
My BP was normal and Dr happy with where my womb is sitting - also just below my belly button!

TSC this was my first time hearing it - last time they couldn't get in. The doppler looked pretty new but even Dr said its not as up to date as the hospital ones!

Off to work now and swimming later... anyone else ventured to the pool yet?
I'm still loving it!

stac14 · 27/01/2010 13:39

becky i still havent got a cossie and also need waxed but quite scared as i heard it is sorer. Anyone have any less painful ideas lol great news bout hearing baby, glad alls well i'm at gp at 4pm. Have to remember a few things to mention.

Evening all.

Must have been a bad night all round last night - DS woke me up screaming at 4.30am, coz he wanted his balloon which was downstairs. Needless to say I was not impressed, and then couldn't get back to sleep after that! Now worrying about how I am going to get up with baby all night, and then be entertaining the other 2 all day... seems like ages ago that they were babies (although I know it's not really that long ago!)

Becky we went swimming on Sun, but was with the kids, so not really 'swimming' as such, more a dip in the water! Have realised that I will need a bigger cossie though, as my old one was a little tight even now, and we are going to Butlins at the end of April, so definately more swimming on the cards then!Good news about hearing the heartbeat, we haven't heard ours yet. Have MW apptment next week, so hopefully will do then!

kkfairybrains · 27/01/2010 19:00

becky i went swimming the other night and felt great after it.went when i was down visiting my mum and left there yesterday without my big bag with all my clothes swimming cos, bio oil, books and make up! my brain gone to complete mush! as if thats not bad enough its the second week in a row i've done it! so was planning on going swimming a few evenings this week but thats gone out the window now!
stac i got waxed last week and had been dreading it but wasn't too bad at all.the only really sore part was along the top section but it was worth it!

stac14 · 27/01/2010 19:40

i think i'm going to bite the bullet and get it done. Went to the docs, no offer of doppler, but says im fine. Gave me stuff for my skin, as its all dry. Got mw on monday so looking forward to that x

very jealous of every1 gettin to hear heart beat.we dont get a 16 wk app in ireland (i dont think). i haven't had app since the scan before christmas and my next one not until 10th march and thats my scan app.maybe im missing out on something and was meant to make a docs app?! doesnt say it on my card thingy tho so i dunno.
tsc sorry to hear about ur dd. teenagers can be so stubborn sometimes. was quite stubborn myself and would have loved the idea of movin to my aunts but would have got sick of it soon enough. the novelty has to wear off soon as it doesn't seem as if ur asking to much of her but ur dead right to stick to ur guns or she'l think she has the upper hand then and get away with everything. just unfair that ur having a crappy time of it.
i done loads of them gender predictor things online and they all said girl and i was at a fortune teller after the miscarraige last year and he told me i would be pregnant by christmas.he said around the end of september beginning of october he could see a little girl passing over! and it was the 9th of october my conception date was! and i wasn't even trying and took morning after pill and didnt work so it must be my fate! obviously im over the moon about it but was just weird how right he was so we'l have to wait and see if he was right about the girl bit!
any1 find any miracle cure for the headaches yet? really getting to me now as im very irratable with them

Emster30 · 27/01/2010 22:02

I have been swimming once a week so far this week with a gym trip one other day. Today for the first time I managed to do 1,000m for the first time since I got my BFP - having not been for ages I have been building up the last few sessions. Hopefully now I am back to doing that every time. I was shattered afterwards, though, and just want to go to bed now.

I can only make midwife appointments for Monday afternoons, and the Monday when I will be 16(+1) weeks is on 8 Feb. However I have to go to a family funeral that day. So I'm trying to decide whether I should go next Monday, at 15 weeks, or the one after, at 17 weeks. Logically I guess the one after would be better as there is more chance of hearing the heartbeat, plus it should be half way between my scans at 14 weeks and at 20 weeks.

Chulita · 28/01/2010 08:57

Well done for the mammoth swim emster! We have a pool about 500 yards away from our house and I've never been. Well, I went once to find out the times but they're all very odd - basically the only time I can swim is between 6-7pm twice a week. It's also on an army base so I'm going to feel so fat wandering around in my cozzie. I should just bite the bullet and get on with it but there's something about a load of soldiers seeing me pregnant in a swimming costume that puts me off!
I haven't heard the heartbeat yet either but I'm not too worried. I got up at 3am to have a bagel and then threw it back up again 30 mins later. Serves me right for having midnight snacks!

stac14 · 28/01/2010 09:08

wow emster i'm lucky if i can swim 100m lol.

How is everyone today? I feel sick again today, pregnancy is a weird thing lol

Hi everyone I went to the doctors about my headaches and I just felt generally poop, they checked me over and everything ok could just be onset of cold or something. But she prescribed me co codamol, which is better than paracetamol! Told me is safe to take so least the headache has gone, for now..
Very strange tho, my eyes ache...like the eyelids are painful ...very weird
