Hey Ladies we have reached the big 1000 so I thought another thread needed to be started

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Deelite have you felt anything yet? Have not felt a thing since last week, maybe it's because it was so quiet and in middle of night.

stac it would be nice to stay 35, but I guess I should have it changed to 36 - only when someone is doing it next though (would do it myself but don't trust my cutting and pasting skills!)

Happy Burns night everyone
Would love some haggis, really really love all that hardcore meat stuff usually, but I guess it's out for us? (my early pregnancy aversion to meat has gone, phew!)

beckyg123 · 25/01/2010 14:39

mmmm.... violet i want to go to tesco for baguettes and salad - sounds lovely! Will need to be warm from oven with melted butter tho!!!

tsc i was at drs at almost 15 weeks and she couldn't pick up the heart beat. she did say they wouldn't normally check but as i had been bleeding decided to give it ago - i managed not to get too upset. She said if baby is lying in bottom of womb then it would still be tucked unter pubic bone and thats why we couldn't hear anything.
LO now wriggling about in there and i can feel it, so much more reassured now! Hope DD1 comes around soon - sounds very stressful.

stac thanks for listening last night. All seems calm now. I've had a chat with my mum and girls in work and managed to put things into perspective a little!

DH21 enjoy getting your hair done and relish every bit of pampering!!! very

orangefizz · 25/01/2010 14:40

afternoon! Just catching up, had a tummy bug thurs/fri caught off some (probably my) grubby toddler! which wasn't much fun, on top of the ms which STILL hasn't gone away at 17 weeks. Now i keep getting stories from people of how they had it all the way through - brilliant- I don't want to hear that thanks!!! Still not sure i've felt movement, think placenta might be in the way, but hopefully soon...

tsc try not to worry, i agree with the others that it can be too early to hear, or the placenta can be in the way, but defo try and get them to do it again to put your mind at rest. sorry about the other probs too.

fairy I am also under consultant care for the same reason - PPH - as you, i am a bit confused as to what they're going to do - have appoint on the 8th so will find out then...

hope everyone else well

Chulita · 25/01/2010 14:50

orangefizz, with DD I had ms til 24 weeks so I'm not surprised to still have it this time round. You have my sympathies!
Thanks to all the chat about baguettes I'm trying to make my own...got them rising in the airing cupboard

orangefizz · 25/01/2010 15:02

chulita respect to you making baguettes - its all i can do to manage to make toast!!
I think thats the trouble with the MS, the expectation - i was basing it on last time so thought it would go at 14 weeks, i know i'm not the only one though! Might go and treat myself to some sticky cake from s'market....(drool)

Chulita · 25/01/2010 15:10

I might be making baguettes but DD's sat in front of Waybuloo so I've made some compromises

randomama · 25/01/2010 15:49

hope things work out for you and your daughter tsc. Do try and keep talking. I left home at 16 (how old is your daughter?) and my relationship with my mum was rubbish until I was about 20 because she just didn't have the energy to try and work things out with me and I felt enormously rejected by that. Please keep talking to her and more importantly, keep listening. This is going to be a pretty intense time for her. She'll know that with another wee un around you'll have even less time for her and may be acting defensively by moving out, kind of getting in there first? I don't know and I don't know the context or anything at all really. I'm not trying to presume to understand your situation, I'm just remembering being a teenager and just thinking of what might be causing her to act out at the moment, and the new baby thing might make sense? I read "How to Talk to Your Teen so You Teen WIll Listen and Listen so your Teen will Talk" a few months back cos my 14 yo niece has been pretty depressed/naughty recently, and reading it I wished my mum had had it when I was young. Maybe worth a try?

Hope it all works out for you both. Also, if it's any reassurance, I'm 16+5 and haven't heard the heartbeat or felt a movement yet. I'm just telling myself/hoping that its snuggled down underneath a placenta duvet chilling out and growing.

I know it's not the done thing here but sending hugs.

randomama · 25/01/2010 15:52

oh when I said "even less" I didn't mean you had little time for her now, just less. sorry. that sounded a bit weird reading back.
also aware of how i might just be totally projecting. feel free to tell me to fuck off and mind my own business.

stac14 · 25/01/2010 16:22

glad you feel better becky sometimes you just get stressed out when things happen

violet went to the supermarket and the cooked chicken bit made me heave so have settled for some lovely heinz tomato soup with plain bread mmm, hope your salad and stuff is fab

hey orange dont think people think about what they are saying to you when your preggers, its like the stories about labour everyone has a story which doesnt make you feel better, best to ignore them. Rotten about your bug hun hope your feeling better.

berberis I will change it for you hun. How have you been?

randomana think I am waiting for the movement that much I wont feel it when it happens lol

WinterMadness · 25/01/2010 17:29

don't be daft tsc. If you can't vent here where can you? You need all the support you can get so vent away!

stac no, we'll find out in 23 weeks(ish) if the predictor's right or not

violetbubbles · 25/01/2010 17:46

Sorry to hear you're having a bad time at the moment tsc. I've been using a doppler at home and sometimes I can't pick up a heartbeat...but if I leave it a few days to let the baby change position I can hear it faintly. Hopefully you'll get to hear yours soon. I'm 17 weeks at the moment.

Well, I have been headache free since about 6.30am this morning. Fingers crossed it stays away for tomorrow as I have a very busy day ahead of me!

To everyone asking - my baguette was AMAZING!!! And I made it myself - one of the first things I've been able to prepare since November. I filled it with cucumber, spring onions, lettuce, cheese and Heinz salad cream. OMG - it was one of the most amazing things I've ever tasted! I polished it off with one of the most delicious peaches I've ever eaten in my life. I think my appetite is coming back - hurrah!!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/01/2010 17:58

violet that sounds like THE yummiest baguette I have ever heard of.

I think you should make us all another one for lunch tomorrow

yum violet that sounds amazing, I am going to buy baguettes lol

winter we decided from the start we wanted to know, will give dp time to get over the surprise if he is having another boy lol, he had a woman at his work who was psychic telling him that its a girl we're having. It would be nice to have a girl but I dont mind, friends mum says its because I am used to boys lol

Hows your hair dh21?

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 25/01/2010 18:51

Hi stac ooooh my hair is lovely they put all special stuff in and straighten it so it looks and feels lovely, it'll prob only last til I was it, I can never do it as well as they do.

WinterMadness · 25/01/2010 18:57

Just worked out my friend's on the same chart (she's due April and knows she's having a boy) and hers was right too! If you want to do an experiment stac tell me your details and we can see if it's the same as your 20 week scan! Ooooo I need to not get carried away with this, lol

I need your Chinese age at conception (if your birthday falls between 21st Feb and 31st Dec add one, if it doesn't use yr actual age) and month of conception (I'm guessing October!)

To all those who think I'm nuts, I kind of am, but more importantly dh's is away on a course and it's something to do that doesn't involve housework

Emster30 · 25/01/2010 19:01

Sorry to hear you're having such a shit time tsc - hope things pick up soon.

Desperate housewife hooray for new hair!

I put my scan pics on Facebook on Saturday so everyone definitely knows now! Plus I have found out today that two more friends (I already knew of two) are also expecting in the summer so it looks like it's going to be a baby boom! Unfortunately none of them live very close.

stac14 · 25/01/2010 19:05

Hey winter I am 30 and I did conceive in October lol let me know what it says

Lovely new hair dh21 I totally love my ghds which help the salon look but my hair never feels the same as when the hairdresser does it lol

emster I did that too, I just thought it would take ages to go around everyone to tell them lol

Chulita · 25/01/2010 19:43

I stumbled across this website, they seem to have a pretty good range of maternity/nursing bras if anyone's interested.

WinterMadness · 25/01/2010 20:25

It says girl stac! When's yr scan?

stac14 · 25/01/2010 20:44

Its on the 1st March winter, wonder if its the same one I did lol

Anyone else tried the online predicter tests?

Thanks chulita I am in desparate need of some decent bras, aunts friend is the lingerie manager in Harrods and she is visiting soon so I am hoping she will measure me so I know exactly what I need.

beckyg123-I totally sympathize on the neighbors. It not nice when you get problems from people that live so close. Our neighbors on our left were nasty and we had to put up with them for 6 yrs until they finally moved, now we?ve got great neighbors thank god! Its stress you really don?t need isn?t it.

TishTosh21- You?re not alone, I suffer from spots when pregnant, I look like a teenager at the moment with 5 bloody spots on my face. Mind you, nothing really benefits as my nails break and my hair goes greasy quickly

thesecondcoming- That must be really worrying that they couldn?t hear a heart beat-but if its any comfort, coming from someone who has done a yr of my midwifery degree, delivered a baby singlehandedly and conducted many, many antenatal appointments- sometimes the placenta can lie right across the front of your uterus making it near impossible to pick up a heartbeat-I hope that helps reassure you a tiny bit until you get someone else to have a go. xx

Hope the ms is easing up for some. hant had any for about a week then it was back this morning, think its because im quite blocked up nasaly which isnt helping.

Got my mw appointment wednesday(im 16weeks today) so that'll be nice hopefully ds2 will be able to hear heartbeat so he'll like that.

My SPD is bloody killing me now, its really gone up several notches on the pain scale in the space of a week hopefully will find the mw has done a physio refferal when i see her wednesday, if she hasnt she better mind her eardrums because i will not be happy and will take it up with the practice manager. spd is not to be scoffed at its flaming agony.

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/01/2010 21:23

I did that Chinese calendar thing too it told me Im having a boy so will let you know if thats true on 2nd March.

stac I have asked my mum for some ghds for my birthday, I should have bought them when I had the money but I never thought about it, now im out of work and really cant justify £100 on straighteners. My birthday isnt til April though so will have to wait a while
