Chulita · 16/01/2010 17:14

Can't you just use a bucket as a tummytub?

stac14 · 16/01/2010 17:32

i dont know what i made of the tummytub, i was just going to go for the sponge thing that goes in the big bath then a bath seat for when lo is bigger.

Thanks aussie your right about conflicting info, it would be simpler to do the same across the uk

chulita is it the crochet mag? I've not found it either

tsc dp only smokes when drinking but it can still be a pain in the ass. I am kind of missing a drink, far more aware of whats going on for my liking lol. Thats good your dd's get on well, think this one will feel like an only child as its brothers are very close

I have been so sick today, forgot to put my sea bands on now i am suffering. Going to dps friends for take away but cant even face the food. Is anyone else still struggling with trying to eat? Xx

WickedWitchSouthWest · 16/01/2010 17:49

hi stac sorry you're still struggling I've been a bit odd this week, I'm finding it hard to eat anything that requires lots of chewing - mostly beef and chicken breast and small meals are much better than a big dinner! Strange how it's come back at this point.

I'm shattered, been out for a long walk like an idiot and my parents are coming over later. Going to need a nap but chances are fairly slim!

Chulita · 16/01/2010 18:33

stac I gave up on the crochet mag after I saw it on Ebay for £12 - it's the Let's Get Crafting issue 19 which is crochet as well but I can't find it anywhere, I'm just a bit irritated cos I had a copy but it didn't have the hook with it so I took it back but haven't found a copy since, and my mum posted me a hook, grr! Sorry, small minds, small worries!
tsc that sounds like a nightmare, he sounds like he needs a kick up the proverbial - it's not right if you have to smell it - well done for not giving in though!
stac I'm still retching a lot and I get really hungry but can't eat very much before I feel sick
I really don't see what some people see in pregnancy...

TishTosh21 · 16/01/2010 19:25

Evening everybody,

Just thought id let you all know the chances of downs syndrome for me is about 1 in 30,000 which is a relief

Not long til my next midwife appointment now, but at the mo i cant really think of much except moving, I really cant wait the flat we're going into is SO lovely with all built in mod cons and en suite bathroom . The move itself will be a bit grizzly in this weather though. OOOH its so exciting!

Chulita · 16/01/2010 20:35

at ensuite bathroom...and mod cons come to think of it...grotty old army accomodation

TishTosh21 · 16/01/2010 20:41

hehe oh the list of fab stuff goes on chulita but i wont bore you with the details

Wonderstuff · 17/01/2010 11:28

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who doesn't enjoy pregnancy. I find struggling with eating the worst, still got nasty taste in my mouth most of the time.
I had a glass of wine for the first time this pregnancy, didn't drink much of it but the fact that I fancied it is a sign that the sickness is getting much better.

Went to my cousins 30th yesterday, felt very underdressed, don't have any nice dressy clothes that fit. Have a hen do in Feb and Wedding in March - gotta get some nice things to wear. Seems such a shame buying glitzy clothes that you may only wear once. Will try ebay I guess.

Got date through for consultant appointment, I have low BMI so am risk of having low birth weight babe, but am just on the boarderline, my mum is smaller than me and my bro and I were around the 8lb mark, dd was 7lb10. I don't have an eating disorder I'm just small.

Looking forward to 12 week scan on Tuesday (I'll be 14 weeks but never mind)

WinterMadness · 17/01/2010 13:39

16 weeks yesterday - feeling the odd movement now and again. I'll be happier when it's more often and a bit more reassuring but the growing bump should be enough to put my mind at ease. Midwife appointment on Friday too so hopefully I'll be able to hear the heartbeat.

Can't say I 'enjoy' pregnancy really. But I don't hate it either. It's definitely better 2nd time round as you don't think about it 24/7 cos you haven't got time! I'm having fewer days of forgetting that I'm pregnant now that I've got a bump

stac14 · 17/01/2010 15:14

hey ladies, how are you all? Have had a nice weekend but i am shattered lol.

tish fab news bout downs test and new flat, how soon do you move?

We keep being offered prams but dp wants all new stuff, also dont want to offend relatives who have offered to buy stuff, anyone else have this?

Have searched and failed to find any going out tops or dresses I like [huff emoticon] There were a few nice things on the Isabella Oliver site, but I think I'd have to sell the baby to be able to afford them Anyone seen anything nice?

Chulita · 17/01/2010 18:40

Have you tried this? I absolutely love the raspberry crossover top, have been debating buying it for days now...and just realised they've sold out of my size

Wonderstuff · 17/01/2010 18:57

Wonderstuff · 17/01/2010 19:02

Jojobil · 17/01/2010 20:03

Hello Girls
I'm due with my second one on July 6th. My daughter just turned 5. It's a very expensive time. I already ballooned from size 12 to size 14/16 how tragic. But same happened first time round and I lost the weight I found that Top Shop has a good selection of maternity clothes. They are good quality. Unlike Asos, which I was not too pleased about... Is anyone around Crouch End and fancies meeting up by the way?

Emster30 · 17/01/2010 20:28

I used to live in Crouch End, am in Walthamstow now.

Just discovered that one of my normal pairs of jeans does still fit - woohoo, another pair of trousers I can wear! That makes 4! Unfortunately three of them are jeans, not great for work...

13 weeks today - am hoping things will speed up a bit now I'm definitely into the second trimester.

TishTosh21 · 17/01/2010 20:29

stac our official moving out date is 12th Feb but will be moving stuff over from the 9th as thats when current tenant is moving out. DP's dad will be helping us on the 11th to get the big bits over i.e bed, chest of drawers etc.
Seeing as im not working atm ill take small, light things over during the day just to help out as much as I can.

We have been offered so many things its really lovely. My mum has MY old baby bath to give us, my sister has a high chair, DP's mum wants to buy us a pram, DP's dad + partner want to buy us a moses basket, DP's younger sister has a load of maternity wear to give me and DP's older sister has a cot to give us, so I'd say we have done really bloody well!

Wonderstuff · 17/01/2010 20:30

Yes big ebay sale in oohh around December when I finally get out of the bloody stuff. Am not planning on doing this ever again (did I mention that).
Welcome Jojobil

My 2 year old is currently screaming because I won't go cuddle her - she keeps chatting and actually started picking my nose when I was lying with her trying to cuddle her to sleep, have sent dh up now. She is getting hysterical, it is too late for this she should be asleep! When is it that children become more rational?

stac14 · 17/01/2010 20:53

tish you have done really well hun, we were looking at prams and cots at the weekend just to give us an idea of prices, dp's mum was with us as she is buying it I was quite worried about the price but she said she was expecting it to be pricey so I wasnt to worry

emster I had a pair of my normal jeans on the other day, still fitted great but dp started whinging as he doesnt think I should be wearing them now lol. How have you been feeling, its great getting to 2nd trimerster isnt it?

welcome jojbil how have you been feeling?

wonder must try that too, as like you I am not doing this again either lol dp and I wanted a child together so this is it

wicked just wanted to say thanks for the yoga DVD tip. My copy arrived yesterday and I've already done one session and had one of the massages taight on the DVD too - great purchase!

Does anyone else end up in extreme belly pain when they first sit down on the loo? Right across uterus area and hips. It's driving me insane...

TishTosh21 · 17/01/2010 21:39

stac yeah ive had a brief look on the mothercare website at prams and they do look pricey, we're worried shes going to spend all her money on one and not have any left for herself (she likes doing this for all her DC's) we're going to either chip in if its expensive or ask her to buy a cheap ish one.

I was wearing my normal jeans today but with a hairband in the hole to stretch over the button but even they are getting too tight now! I must def be getting bigger because a couple of weeks ago the hairband thing worked a treat. We're going to DP's sister's house this week as she is giving me her maternity clothes which will prob be very much needed!

viksam · 17/01/2010 22:12

Hi Guys,
Been popping on and off all day trying to catch up!
Just a quick msg as I really need my bed. We went to see FIL today at exeter hospital, he seems a little better today, knew who we were anyhow but still can't really speak properly and his breathing is eratic at best, fingers crossed the PE will break up and he will start to improve.
Some of you guys have had really great Downs results, i thought I was happy with mine untill i read urs, mine was 1 in 540! still classed as low thought, i guess its my age that has brought it down some.
My husband brought me a doppler about 5 weeks ago and I really thought I would be OCD with it but im not. I couldnt find the heart beat the first three times, the fourth time i found it then lost it straight away, then the last few times i have found it loud and clear almost straight away, its great to hear i must admit.
Right im off coz im still really really tired and this last week hasnt helped. I have to stop out for a night for work this week as well and I really dont want to!Never mind.
Hope everyones had a good weekend!
xx
