Hello ladies,

Just catching up on all the posts...lots going on.

I'm 16 wks now, can't quite believe it. Really looking forward to next midwife appt and next scan. I like these milestones as it makes everything seem real!

My friend had a baby girl (Abigail) on the 3rd Jan. All are well and back home. Again, visiting them in hospital made it real too!

I've been stuck at home for the majority of last week due to the snow! I'm hoping for a bit of normality next week. Did manage to make the most of the time at home and have re-organised my wardrobe. I've put together a pregnancy wardrobe with things I've got/bought/been lent. Just had a quick stop at Mothercare too and picked up a top for work in the sales and a tankini! Pleased about that as desperately need to get back in the swimming pool.

Got a proper little bump now but I think it is probably only really noticeable to those who know. It can still be disguided in certain clothes.

Does anyone else's bump get bigger as the day goes on?? Mine can be quite huge before bed-time but then goes down again by the morning! DH finds it hilarious.

As for MS it's certainly a gizillion times better than it was but I am still randomly sick at odd times and for no reason. I don't actually feel sick but then suddenly feel the urge to throw up!

xx

stac14 · 10/01/2010 16:51

Hey ladies

I am also struggling with eating, dp is moaning like mad, I seem to be more able to eat late at night dont know why. When I force myself to eat I feel like I want to bring it back up or that its sitting there ages later. I turned green at the checkout in the supermarket and thats the first thats happened for ages, poor girl must have thought I was going to hurl in front of her lol

Got pair of maternity jeans and an oversized shirt in new look today for the grand total of £15 was so impressed. We also had a look around mothercare saw some gorgeous things so we have come home with thier spring summer catalogue.

Are you ladies waiting till after your 20 weeks scan before starting to buy stuff?

tsc hope all goes well for your friend on wednesday and she gets the best possible scenario.

Hows your weekends been? viksam great scan, know what you mean about the up/down emotions, I was nearly crying at baby clothes kind of thought omg I have flipped lol xxxx

Wow. Just googling something else and came across an 'Am I Being Unreasonable?' thread. Some people on MN are viscous aren't they?!?!? Gosh [mental note to only post on our lovely friendly July thread]

TishTosh21 · 10/01/2010 18:53

stac I'm waiting til after 20 weeks til I buy stuff not only for the fact that's it's still quite early days but also will have all this baby stuff sitting around for months. Really not thinking about buying anything til around 28ish weeks.

stac14 · 10/01/2010 18:59

tish think your right but its still nice to look, some of the stuff is just too cute. To be honest I still have decorating and everything to do before I can start buying stuff in. Have just had a new kitchen and bathroom put in so house is in a mess. When will you be moving?

OP posts:
Wonderstuff · 10/01/2010 19:09

I'm hoping I won't need to buy much at all this time - we have given away almost all of dd's clothes, I am hoping that karma will work out and our mates will pass on their hand-me-downs? Would like to get a few nice new babygros, bit disappointed in Mothercares Spring/summer range, was much funkier when DD was a bump may do some online investigations. I have a pram and a moses basket, a cot and a mobywrap sling (which I love) will use washing up bowl for baths, normal towels - the baby ones look cute but are rubbish. I need a new breast pump - anyone know of a quiet electric one? and a new car seat and all my muslins have gone walkabout.. It can definitly all wait for a few months, and the shops are all still there after babs makes an appearance.

WinterMadness if you stay away from AIBU you will find that the rest of MN is really friendly, supportive and often LOL witty. Just be prepared to hear what people think rather than what they think you want to hear iykwim. You'll be addicted before you know it.

If anyone else has the pleasure of very low blood pressure M&S support tights which are marked as £4 are going through the till at £1 - Bargin.

TishTosh21 · 10/01/2010 20:09

im moving this time next month.i look at baby things too esp clothes they are so tiny but at the same time alarmingly big!

stac14 · 10/01/2010 20:21

yeah they are tish when i had ds the newborn clothes were too small lol

wonder what age is dd? Thats good you dont have to get a lot in. Friends of ours have dd and have said if we have one she has loads of stuff for her.

I havent looked at AIBU yet but very tempted too lol

OP posts:
Wonderstuff · 10/01/2010 21:10

My dd turned 2 in November. I saw some tiny newborns when I went for my booking appointment yesterday, I can't imagine dd ever being that small! I've actually started feeling really excited for the first time. Before I knew being pg was a good thing, I knew that I wanted another and that babies were fab, but I didn't feel any of it - does that make sense, it was all in my head and not in my heart. I just felt like crap, but I really feel that today I have turned a corner
Anyho - work tomorrow, am off to bed.

hello everyone!

Oo I do love a nice tidy stats list

wm I love mn, even aibu! Sometimes it's completely hilarious so it's worth having a bobble around the site and seeing what's going on. That's what makes it so addictive! I love the fact that you ask for opinions/thoughts and you actually get them. Ok not always sugar coated but I'd rather be told the truth than "oh hun, do what you think is best". Er no, I asked your opinion so I could make an informed decision!

sonson I've started having regular movements now. I was cautious at first but the mw confirmed the position of my uterus so I knew I was right then!

Oh so looking forward to buying some bits and pieces. Obviously we have alot but I'll need to decorate the nursery and I want new plain white sleepsuits and vests coz they do go manky, esepsh after an exploding nappy! You can't beat that washing line of tiny white things before baby arrives! I've got millions of muslins still - dd has adopted 2 as her "banky-banks" (cute) and the others are all in good condtion. I will wait til February but that's only because I'm waiting for dh to get paid!

I'm going to concentrate on the nursery first - I really don't want beige or any variation of. Thinking duck-egg blue and an off-white at the mo...Has anyone else thought about it yet?

orangefizz · 10/01/2010 21:53

I keep thinking that I feel something, but then i'm not sure and I think its too high up...should be soon am 15 weeks today

WickedWitchSouthWest · 10/01/2010 22:11

orange the mw said my uterus is halfway between the top of the pubic bone and my belly button. I'm getting fluttering either directly below my belly button or slightly to the left. Only when sat really still though. It may be that your baby is facing inside all the time at the moment?

I got dh to get the maternity clothes down today - I suddenly look really massive! Dead chuffed with the jeans, cords and wrap dress I have but the t shirts are depressing really - black and white pretty much. I have one coral t shirt which is lovely but I really need a bit more colour . Have the shops got their SS materntiy stuff in yet?

wwsw I was in new look and mothercare today and its thier ss range, mothercare have some nice stuff in thier catalogue. I feel as if my belly has popped out overnight and I am only 13 weeks so feel like I am living in leggings. Think duck egg blue and off white sound lovely. Friends of ours did thiers in lemon and orange, sounds rank but it is really nice

Fantastic buy I got before xmas though was a pair of jeggings, they are denim leggings (as you probably already know) but they are fab and go great with my ugg boots. The elasticated waist should grow with junior for a while.

Quick question, my ds will be 11 when baby comes but we live in a 2 bed flat, any ideas how to make a room viable for both ds and baby or should I be looking to move?? (kind of hard that option as cant afford it at the mo with me not working)

Well ladies I am off to bed as have the kitchen and bathroom fitters back in tomorrow (oh the joys)

OP posts:
WickedWitchSouthWest · 10/01/2010 22:44

thanks tsc and stac for the tip offs! I haven't tried to get into my jeggings for a few weeks, they're not maternity ones and I do miss them so it's worth getting some I think. Thanks for reminding me! I love red herring stuff, my 3 favourite t shirts from dd were from there so I'll pop online and have a look. Dh will NOT be pleased

stac I honestly don't know, I guess if you have another boy you'd be ok for a bit but teenage boy plus a toddler in the same room might not be popular with your ds! Good luck with the fitters! Our building works are done for now thank god, just got to pay for it!

stac14 · 11/01/2010 10:24

Just thought tish we are now officially in the 2nd trimester, hopefully it goes in quicker now lol. How have you been feeling?

wwsw I was thinking that, my sister is 10 years younger than me and I hated sharing a room. The baby will have to be in our room at first anyway as its not fair on DS to be woke up with the baby. The nice thing is ds says he doesnt mind sharing but I dont think that will last when baby is toddling lol Did you do some online shopping?

How is everyone else today? Has anyone else been told the hospital would change thier edd if they had an early scan? When I went the mw/sonographer said 17th was the date they would stick to even if it was later than they initially thought. Just curious as to why they wouldnt change it?

Morning all. I hope everyone is doing ok today. Not long now until we all graduate to the second trimester! Just us few stragglers at the end of the month to go.

Still suffering a little from MS here, I was hoping it would have gone away by now! Hopefully it'll disappear over the next week, I really don't want it to be my constant companion for the next six months. On the plus side my skin has cleared up and my hair is starting to get nice and thick, which is unusual as normally it's pretty thin.

I managed to get the car off the drive on Saturday and headed out to the retail park, which was blissfully empty thanks to the weather. I think there were maybe three other couples in the big Mothercare World and none of them were heading for the maternity section, so I just took over the changing room and tried on pretty much everything in the sales rack.

Got a few good bargains, two sets of work trousers for £10 each which was pretty good! They're longer length so I've needed to take the hems up, but that's not exactly a huge chore. Also picked up some t-shirts and a few other bits and pieces. I think I have enough now to keep me going for the next few months. Until summer weather arrives at least - assuming we get some this year!

I can hardly wait for my scan this week, it seems like ages since I last got to see the LO on the big screen or hear the heartbeat! I'm tentatively confident that everything should be ok, I guess I'll deal with bad news if it happens. Hopefully there won't be any need, however.

Been planning out decorating here too, for the tiny office room that is now becoming a nursery. I'm somewhat limited because pretty much every single carpet in my house is green - and the same type of green at that. The people who lived there before us either got a really cheap deal or were obsessed with the colour! So trying to work around that and keep it gender neutral as well.

Any ideas of good colour combinations with a plain grass green carpet??
