Hi there

I have been on the July thread, but it moves so fast and as I don't have time (or energy being so sleepy), I can't keep up with everyone who is on several times a day! If anyone else wants to join me in a slower thread to share how your pregnancy is developing, feel free!

tobago My lad is big too - rocking in at around 6lbs and I'm 34 weeks, however they've said he's big all over and likely to come at least a week early. Please! Rather that than 40 weeks and 12lbs!

Welcome bum&tum

I'm tired in a different way to how I was before... or maybe just knackered. Up at 6:12am yesterday morning to puke and 4:37 am this morning. You'd have thought ms would have gone by now right?

My feet have suddenly started to swell - ankles aren't so bad but the tops of my feet have absolutely no definition - just milky white fat slabs!

I'm back for my (hopefully) final 4D scan tonight.

Gibbon · 11/06/2010 08:08

I know I haven't posted of late but wanted to say hello, wish you all luck and thinking of you all

randomama · 11/06/2010 22:43

Due 08th July

I'm saying hi again too! I can't believe how close we all are. hope everyone is feeling groovy.

I have a scan on Monday to see if the baby is breech (my placenta is anterior and about the size of Wales so MW can't reach past it to figure out where the head is). quite excited about seeing the baby again and maybe getting an idea of how big it actually is (so that I might be able to tell everyone who keeps telling me I'm expecting at least a ten pounder to fuck off with some authority)

feeling good. house is a tip - failing to develop any sort of nesting instinct yet, have fallen out with my mum and still don't really like my midwife. yay! I also have a varicose vein, which is sexy as hell. woot! but yeah feeling pretty good [second glass of wine emoticon]

Sending happy healthy good vibes to all x

tobago04 · 12/06/2010 09:13

Hi all,
hope your ok Gibbon and your dad is doing ok?
Sounds like i'm not the only one having a biggen then! Still trying to get my head around it,one minute i'm crapping myself the next i just think i should be grateful thats all i've got to worry about and the baby is alright,my FIL joked that it will weigh more than me! On the plus side it must mean i will have less weight to lose after,as it's all baby
Can't believe your still being sick Ski,you poor thing,it obviously hasn't affected your baby though
Hope your scan goes ok randomama,i know how you feel regarding the tiredness,i'm knackered, finding it really difficult to bend down now and do every day things, the house looks like a tip too, just ain't got the energy to do the hoovering etc but i'm going to try and get everything ready now regarding hospital bag etc as i'm only going to get more tired,
anyway hope you all have a good weekend x

Gibbon · 14/06/2010 08:27

Thank you for asking tobago he is doing so well, was caught early and has had op and is recovering well thank God.

Hope you're well x

Haven't posted for ages, just popping on to say hello. 35 weeks on Friday and I'm booked in for a c section at 39 wks - 9th July! Kind of weird to know the date the baby will be born on but also good as we have been able to organise someone to look after dd.

This pg has gone so quickly, everyone told me it would with the second one. Feeling generally OK, tired in the evenings, bit sore in the legs and pelvis sometimes but nothing major. Popping lots of iron pills as my levels are still quite low. Have a giant bump but not too uncomfortable and almost feel I'm going to miss being pregnant, especially if we don't have any more...hospital offered to tie my tubes when I have the c section but I am Not Ready For That!

Hope everyone else is well, not long to go now. Must get on with packing that hospital bag, just in case...

lifeistooshort · 14/06/2010 12:56

Hi all,
had my diabetes test yesterday,it was so boring, had to have bloods taken then drink a sugary drink and then just sit in the waiting room for two hours, couldn't have anything to eat all morning either so after it was finished i went home and stuffed my face
Everyone keeps telling me i look quite small so hopefully they've got the size wrong
Hope everyone else is doing ok,glad your dad is doing good gibbon

ApuskiDusky · 16/06/2010 15:31

Hi all. Really glad to hear things are going well with your dad, Gibbon, I had been thinking of you!

38 weeks today, and a routine midwife appointment at lunchtime has turned into a hospital visit for a growth scan - apparently baby hasn't grown for the past 3 weeks. I know the tape measures are notoriously inaccurate, but I am trying not to worry. It doesn't help when the hospital rang within half an hour of the midwife referral offering me an appointment straight away! At least I'll know what's going on today.

My worry is that at 38 weeks they'll just say 'well we might as well induce' even if they can't see any cause of a problem. I'm not ready yet!

ApuskiDusky · 16/06/2010 19:44

Back from the hospital and everything is fine. The sonographer reckons the baby is over 7 lbs already, so I may be heading for another biggie (ds was 8lbs 11). I'm relieved all seems ok.

But disaster! DS has found the presents that the baby was bringing him! I was clearing and sorting, then got sidetracked with the scan, and forgot they were left out. I've managed to take them away so he goes to bed, but he will still remember in the morning I fear! Might have to buy something else!

lifeistooshort · 18/06/2010 21:09

Apuski glad to know all is ok, typical that they would worry your for the baby to be a very decent size! You also reminded me that I need to get those presents sorted for the DCs

I am officially on maternity leave today.Yepee

Hi lifeistooshort and EmsieRo, it's great to be finally on maternity leave, isn't it!

Today I am wondering if I can spend the rest of this pregnancy lying in the bath.... feeling sore and uncomfortable!

mumwithbumandtum · 19/06/2010 21:21

Hi everyone! I'm 36 weeks now (due July 15)
Is anyone else getting really electric twinges down in the lady garden area when the baby nestles it's head right down? This one is so much more active than DS and I struggle to sleep after my 3am pee. BH getting tighter and more frequent, it's all terribly exciting, but still I am dreading labour. Need to keep cheering each other up as these last few weeks speed on by. XX

mrscrocoduck · 20/06/2010 17:47

(34 weeks - due 28th July)

yes! I am! The right hand side of my pelvis at the front is tingling and numb! It's worse, or more noticeable at night...

mrscrocoduck · 20/06/2010 17:48

could someone give me maternity leave from being a SAHM PLEASE?! I'm exhausted and completely unable to stop.

WhatSheSaid · 21/06/2010 03:39

Yes please to maternity leave from being a SAHM.

Now got pain under ribs (internal organs being squished up), breathlessness (same) and feel like I need a crane to turn over from one side to another in bed!

Two and half weeks to go...

tobago04 · 21/06/2010 08:59

God wish i only had two and half weeks left,i've got 6 weeks today and am knackered,
my hips and pelvis are getting worse too,i'm ok if i'm standing up but it's a nightmare if i've been lying down or sitting for too long, also got the thrush back ,
so am contemplating giving birth with sore lady bits, painful pelvis/hips and it being 10lbs
i also second maternity leave for SAHM'S
Sorry for the moan, hope you get everything sorted in time EmsieRo ,hope everyone else is ok

Due 14 July (DC2 - DD 3 on 8th July)

Hi All

I haven't posted for a while either. Gibbon glad to hear your dad is doing ok. Apuski glad scan went well. Shame about DS fining pressies.
Any suggestions on what LO can buy my DD?

mumwithbum I have the electric twinges on and off - baby's head engaging (and in my case di-engaging). Can be quite alarming if you don't know what they are, and certainly painful! My huge bump (which apparently measures small for dates) had definitely dropped. Not finding breathing any easier though as asthma kicked in along with stinking cold!

Two friends were recently told they were having 10lb+ babies. Both were only 8lb something.

randomama · 21/06/2010 20:28

EDD 8th July

Hey everyone and merry solstice! Sounds like everyone is getting ready to drop!

I agree with mat leave for all you SAHMs. I've only just become a SAHM so there's no tidy house/cleaning expectation in place, but even just running round after DS at the park all day (I figure if we stay out of the house we at least limit the mess) is knackering. DP, after 18 months as a SAHD while I worked, has just become a full time gardener so he's too knackered to tidy too. We fall in to bed super early every night muttering sweet and unconvincing nothings about housework being bourgeois...

Well the baby is breech. If she hasn't turned by this Thursday (when I'll be 38 weeks), then they reckon she probably won't. They've agreed to let me have an active, natural breech birth though, as I'm keen to avoid a section, so we'll see how that goes... No homebirth though (I'm just under an hour from the nearest c-section friendly hospital, so don't wanna take the risk).

Having never done a hospital birth before I'm unsure as to what to do - when should I pack a bag etc?

Melissa my DS will be 3 on 5th July - 3 days before EDD. We're getting him a V-tech digital camera from the baby. you can get them on ebay for a reasonable price.

Hope everyone's aches and pains improve (although I suppose they won't). Here's to kids playing outside while we luxuriate in deckchairs with ice lollies eh? x

tobago04 · 22/06/2010 09:10

Thats good to hear melissa don't fancy having a 10lber,will be interesting to see what the midwife says when i get measured Thursday,
Hope baby moves randomama,i've started packing a few things already, but i like to be organised,
Thats a good present idea too,dd1 did ask for a camera a bit ago so might check out ebay
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather,i'm off to take dd2 for her immunisations, not quite sure how i'm going to hold her on my lap with big bump in the way

Twittle · 22/06/2010 13:07

Hi All

Glad to hear everyone is ok and coping with the very sunny sunshine! Am starting to feel like these last 5 weeks could really drag.... whilst I am having a ball on maternity leave I have not yet done anything that I should have and my house looks like we have been burgled it is that untidy!!

Also is it just me or do there seem to be some lovely clothes available to buy in the shops - that is if you are a size 10/12 and without an 8 month baby out front!!!! Really looking forward to a comfortable if short nights sleep when it finally arrives!!!

Tobago sorry to hear about the pelvic pain, have you got one of those yoga balls, mine does seem to help a little? Apuski lucky you being able to have a bath, I could probably get in it but have a slight problem getting out!! Its showers all the way for me now!!
