Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sixmincepiessoontobeseven · 03/12/2009 16:26

Hi devotion i'm must admit to getting a little lot excited now, only 6 wks or 41 more sleeps to cuddle time.

Nicholas, Holly good christmas time names. Is Ivy to much, there is a little one in nursery called Ivy. is very cute.??

crumpette as a hormonal pg lady I would love to see anyone try to take away your choc croissant and tell you its bad for you lol. You enjoy.

nomorebooze · 03/12/2009 16:47

hi guys! thanks for the warm welcome this is my first, just moved up north a month ago so not working, had to give up my job when moving as couldnt transfer, bummer!!! just want to say loving mumsnet fab to chat with others going through there pregnancys, and bouncing off thoughts and advice etc. xx

nomorebooze · 03/12/2009 16:49

love the name ivy!!!!!!!!!

shinybaubles · 03/12/2009 16:49

Hi nomorebooze and mummytopebs add yourselves to the list.
I like Holly as a name and Imogen.
I have to admit to be considering Nicholas. Ds has a very classic English boys name, boring but it suits him perfectly.

I am so excited can't wait to see the first name under the arrived list .

shinybaubles · 03/12/2009 16:53

mistletoekisses we cross posted with the same name - lol. Thought Nicholas would be good since he will be born on Christmas Eve.

Hi bigpreggybelly

Oh no crumpette just saw your post all three of us have the same name .

nomorebooze · 03/12/2009 16:56

sorry, i'm new to this! is there a list??? or is this a figure of mumsnet speech?

alibobins · 03/12/2009 17:05

Hi welcome to the new ladies
Ds was a fantastic innkeeper brought tears to my eyes
Baby seems to be lying really low on the right side of my pelvis and I keep getting electric shock type pains down my leg.

I really seem to have the 12th Jan stuck in my head so really think thats when bump will come but then again I was pretty sure he was a she

shinybaubles · 03/12/2009 17:11

nomorebooze at the beginning of the thread there is a list copy and paste and add your due date etc.

crumpette · 03/12/2009 17:11

haha shiny and mistletoe, I think 3 Nicholases/Nicolases would be good how can you not love a festive name...

I may have struck a deal with DP where if the baby is born before Christmas he can be Nicolas and if he is born after he can be James... I will probably go all squiffy and hormonally wrong after he is born though and choose something random that neither of us likes!

nomorebooze if you cut and paste the above list of due dates into a new message box and add yourself in on the appropriate date, you are officially on the list

nomorebooze · 03/12/2009 17:27

Hi peeps! have now added myself to list, thanks for help

hahahahaha! whoops again, give up!!!! Name lol lots!!!!!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 03/12/2009 17:44

Alibobins - I hate to worry you sweetheart but my labour with DD started with a series of electric shock type pains down my right leg. It was really very odd and made me yelp with surprise each time. Mind you, that only happened for about half an hour and then hind waters went and contractions started in earnest! Whenever I've mentioned to anyone how my labour started, nobody else seems to have heard of the electric shock stuff!

So - by my reckoning, Alibobins is going to be first (naturally) closely followed by LondonLottie, then of course Shiny and then me, the latter ones scheduled c-sections so those dates aren't changing!!!!

I lurrve Nicholas for a boy and James too, plus other traditional ones like Matthew, Samuel, Benjamin, William, Harry etc - in fact, I just love classic traditional boys names. My eldest is Alexander and I've loved that since my early 20's! Girls I think we can have lots of poetic licence with - but have to confess to trying to be a little traditional with girls names this time around.

Can you believe that in less than 24 hours we have over 63 messages on this new thread??! I think we've all got a little overexcited about the fact this is now going to be the BIRTH THREAD (tee hee)!!

OP posts:
mistletoekisses · 03/12/2009 17:52

I think the more Nicolas/ nicholas' on this thread the better! It wouldnt surprise me if names like Holly, Nicholas and Ivy are more popular around this time of year!

Btw - I think both Holly and Ivy are lovely names also.

It is funny how our minds can change though. I wrote a few down after the 20 week scan and when I looked at them today - knew they werent right. Only one name from that list has remained on the shortlist and that is Rory....I don't know why, but it has really stuck with me....

Cannot believe how many posts we already have! Is getting more exciting!

alibobins · 03/12/2009 19:54

ctofn I keep having a strange feeling everytime I stand up that my waters are going to break lol

At this rate we will need another thread to anounce our arrivals

CantThinkofFunnyName · 03/12/2009 20:02

Ali - I seriously have a feeling about you!!!! I have never heard of anyone having those electric shocks other than me and on top of your show and contractions...... please please please try to post every day to keep me informed because I am convinced you will be in labour in the next day or so!!

OP posts:
mummytopebs · 03/12/2009 20:10

ALIBOBINS i had an electric shock pain in my lower leg last night it was really painful but went off after about 2 hours and some paracetemol x

It is really nice to find a thread where everyone is due around the same time and has the same excitement and anxieties etc. I am starting to get nervous about the c-section and cant decide wether to have a general or a spinal? Anyone else having a section?

Mama2b5 · 03/12/2009 20:12

Hi all the "new and the old"

Im so glad we are all slowly but surely getting things ready for our babies!!!
Im loving the name choices, i do believe if you call the unborn child by a name now its like its already here in a strange way, makes it so much more real.
Me and DH are still considering names - i want Isaiah and he wants Aaron we see who wins this one! also want the name joshua in there love it also! i would like to put my mums name in there but Joyce for a boy just aint right!!!
dreading kids and school being out AHHHHHHHHHH
they finish on the 18th - oh boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i feel so big and round and now my family are saying this baby is going to come early so do i, as i have done this 2 times already i just feel it! well we will see, still need few items in "baby bag"

Thanks all for sharing baby name i will do it on here but not many in my life know they just have to wait!

alibobins · 03/12/2009 20:23

ctofn put that feeling to back of your mind i'm so not ready for number 3

Dd 9 is being a complete madam her favourite saying is I hate you so don't think se's going to appreciate the baby

ampster · 03/12/2009 21:36

hello, haven't posted for ages, just updating self on list. it feels like this pregnancy is finally kicking in - rib pain, back pain, sleeplessness, restless legs, leg cramps, indigestion - oh the joys of soon-to-be-motherhood! been preparing for homebirth, trying to learn hypnobirthing with a private tutor, though seem to have some resistance to the idea of actually being hypnotised, which doesn't bode well for a calm, easy birth. but we shall see!

33+3 tomorrow... 7 weeks to go!

ARRIVED

sazlocks · 03/12/2009 22:38

evening all and welcome newbies
struggling to keep up with the detail of this thread at the mo! I have 7 days left in work woo hoooooooooo
We have Samuel James for a boy and Olivia Eve/Evie for a girl. We too have not shared this detail in RL cos can't be fagged to listen to anyones RL opinions about the horrible Samuel they once knew etc etc
One of my friends has just had her second DC this week - I can't wait for a cuddle - am soooooo broody and looking forward to cuddling my own in a few weeks time

MissMarjoribanks · 04/12/2009 00:06

Erm, you know those bets you were having? You were all wrong. I'm first! And I only joined you a short time ago!

I had a baby boy, Thomas William Francis on Tuesday evening, 1 December at 9.43pm. He was born at 33 + 4 weeks and is a good size for gestation - 5lb 5oz. He's in SCBU at the University Hospital of South Manchester for the moment and I'm now home and missing him loads. We hope to have him home for Christmas.

I had pains in both my legs (not abdomen) and some light spotting - I thought it was sciatica and a bit of a show, but when I got to hospital to be checked out after dinner on Monday I was 3cm dilated and began to bleed heavily. Thomas arrived 27 hours later.

More details to follow when I'm just a bit less tired. I would be in bed already but they want me to express and establish a milk supply so I've got to wait up for his 1am 'feed'.

mistletoekisses · 04/12/2009 02:23

OMG!!! Missmarjoribanks! Congrats to you and welcome baby Thomas! Glad to hear that he is well, although sorry that he is in SCBU.

I shall update the list (and then try and make my way back to bed). I woke up needing a slice of toast....

Congrats once again!!!
