ooh, you convinced me. I've just bought some jeans, a dress and a top from red herring. All that for £50 though, not bad.

Jaysfourth · 03/03/2010 14:30

typically, (re the redherring jeans) both the 16 long and 18 long are out of stock!! bah... i shall stake out till they are back in!

comixminx · 03/03/2010 14:33

Well, I never would have thought of it if not for the mentions on here - and I'm still not entirely sure I'm not imagining it - but I think I can feel movement too! Am about 14 and a half weeks which sounds like the right sort of time from what people are saying, but as this is my first one I wouldn't have even thought to think of those flutterings as movements...

Jaysfourth · 03/03/2010 14:33

if anyone else is buying from Debenhams (online) enter this code SHL4 at the checkout, it gives free delivery on orders over £30.00 !!

Bessie123 · 03/03/2010 14:36

Oh bum, jaysfourth, I wish you'd posted that 15 mins ago.

Comixminx - I felt dd at 14 weeks, I think that's about the right time. It was very faint then though.

Jaysfourth · 03/03/2010 14:59

bessie i just got the message !

vouchercodes.co.uk i am 'friends' with the site on FB, some of the deals are cool

Jaysfourth · 03/03/2010 15:32

check out this list. it has everything from high street retailers to secondhand sites i have just spent ages (not money - yet) having a look. A lot of the sites have 20% off everything at the mo!

bellabelly · 03/03/2010 16:09

OK, have just spent nearly £50 on Debenhams maternity stuff... you lot are a bad influence! Am not going to click on any more links!!!

Rhiannon33 · 03/03/2010 16:34

Hello Everyone

Im very new to all this - but expecting my first on 13th September!

So excited after the scan last friday!

im confused by all the acronyms -
EDD?
DD?

can anyone give me a guide?

Jaysfourth · 03/03/2010 17:25

free delivery though bellabelly......!

rhianne There is a list of abbreviations somewhere, am sure a wise one will point you in the right direction!

for starters,

DD - Due date (or darling daughter)
EDD - Estimated due date
DS - Darling son
DP/DH - Darling partner/husband

and so it goes on!

Congratulations and welcome

bellabelly · 03/03/2010 18:25

Jays - no free delivery, like an utter fool I totally forgot to add it! (Preggo brain...)

Jaysfourth · 03/03/2010 19:30

doh!

bloominnorah · 03/03/2010 19:32

Hi, I just ordered a couple of maternity bras from Debenhams and used these codes....P8LP=10% off and SHD1=free delivery!!

I'm well happy with that

Monstermuncher · 03/03/2010 21:28

Ooh I am liking these shopping discounts, I really need to get some new bras, I am experiencing the 'double boob' effect and its not attractive (or comfortable).

Jaysfourth I am so jealous about Glastonbury, I love festivals and gigs. I saw Groove Armada on Monday - the first time I have ever been to a gig sober, but I looked like a hardcore raver with my bottle of water. Amazingly I danced all night, but have been knackered ever since.

Maitri I am so sorry to hear your news
Mammy G sorry you are having a tough time

Thanks to those who posted about nuchal scans, think I'm going to go for it.

Also congrats to those who have just had their scans, have not been on MN for a few days and am amazed by how large this thread is becoming, it's great to hear everyone's progress

MammyG · 03/03/2010 22:06

Welcome Rhiannon

You lot are a lifeline! Thanks so much for all the well wishes.
Had a good day today - no particular reason maybe cause it was finally a little sunny in grey ol ireland. But felt a bit brighter - each day as it comes eh?

Foxy - was your dog put to sleep? We had to do that a few years ago and it was heartbreaking. Actually just got a puppy after xmas. DH surprised me He is the bane of my life at the moment (the puppy not DH) but the kids adore him and when he calms down he will be cute. Hope its before this baby comes along!

Havent even thought of shopping - def have to get bras. Am normally an f cup so pregnancy is just a disaster! Just need scaffolding really!

Cant believe all the people feeling movement! I was 20 weeks on DS1 and 18 on DS2 could it really happen so soon? Am really excited after reading all the posts. Something to make it all real!

Am being tested tomorrow for coeliac disease and other allergies in case tummy prob is down to that. Would be nice to have a diagnosis but untreated coeliac and pregnancy are not a good combination. Anyway will see how it turns out - feel like a pin cushion at this stage.

MammyG · 03/03/2010 22:08

Ps. maybe its just cause I have had a good day but think I will just tell people this weekend. I will be 12 weeks on the nose but think a little positivity etc could be just what the doctor ordered? What do ye think? Or would it be fairer on mum etc to leave it another while. Any advice?

Thanks Inzi - not at all insensitive esp as you have experience. I am starting to think so too. Also feel my dad was so happy about the news that he would be pleased everyone was focusing on something good. Now just need to get over the fear of something going wrong once I open my mouth!!

MudandRoses · 04/03/2010 11:35

Hi everyone. I only have one thing to say today: snickers bars
YUM!!!

BooStar · 04/03/2010 13:28

Hey everyone,

Had the scan yesterday and can't believe how great it was!! I always assumed from looking at other's blurry scan photos that was what to expect on the screen, but you could see soooo much so clearly - it was so amazing! Sorry for the gushing but I really was quite overwhelmed!!
Big weight off to see that everything looked normal and baby was jumping about like a mad thing!
We were told that we are further on than expected though - we're now 14 wks and due on the 1st September! Will update the list

jaysfourth We've also got tickets to Glastonbury that we booked last year b4 finding out. We've decided that we're still going to go but bit nervous about camping. Don't have the luxury of a campervan but are definitely taking an air-mattress and proper sheets and duvet which is what we normally do for festivals so hoping it will be ok. Praying for good weather though - don't fancy waddling through mud!! Have you got any hints and tips of essential things to take with you?

Re: movement - I'd love to think I'm feeling something and after seeing how much baby is thrashing and flailing I wouldn't be too surprised but unfortunately I've been suffer from so much wind since conceiving that until I feel a definite kick I think I'll never be sure!!

mudandroses MMmmmmmm Snickers....

foxyjbro99 · 04/03/2010 14:39

I would love a snickers!!! I thought they were off limits though due to peanuts??? Please tell me I'm wrong!

I've just been to debenhams and boughts some mat jeans - 20% off! Also, tried for the 2nd time to get measured for a bra, apparently they don't measure when there's a sale on! Last time they didn't have enough staff!! So, I've given up on debenhams and against everyones advice went to mothercare. Got a nice t-shirt bra with quite a lot of support, so much more flattering than the one I have been wearing (which I also wore for dd1 and dd2 .

I didn't have to have my doggy put down, he went to doggy hospital for 3 weeks and he is back home now. Still not walking, so it's quite hard work looking after him, but he is making slow progress, so we remain hopeful. So pleased we had insurance! The bill is over £2k now!!

Swordfishtrombones · 04/03/2010 15:22

Foxy - ouch to the vets bill! But glad your dog is on the mend.

For anyone interested in Gap maternity clothes you can get 30% off between 10-14 March by becoming a VIP Member. Actually its anything in Gap I think.

You just have to put in your email address and they give you a voucher to print.

Boostar - glad your scan went so well. It's definitely clearer on the scan than the photos as they never seem to get the right angle when they print the photos!

I am 14 weeks and I think I can feel a few flutters but I'm still not entirely sure...
