Gosh, we've gabbed our way to 1000 already!

I too am eating like a student - the shame of it!

Gracie, the thought of food in general knocks me bad at the minute. Don't know if it's pregnancy or a bug but I've felt terrible for days now

On a positive note, all was fine at the scan. Bleed still persists but it's measuring smaller than 2 weeks ago and they haven't booked me in for any more scans until my 20 week one where she says she thinks the bleed'll have gone. So now it's time to go public

Hope everyone's ok

violetbubbles · 16/12/2009 16:05

Great news winter

I'm avoiding this thread because I have scan I can't get hold of a freaking MW after a week of trying the two numbers I have and I'm seriously peed orf because by the time the holidays are over I'll be 11 weeks and I'm still not booked in.
[sigh] So pleased to hear of the good scans though, even if I am insanely jealous!

roobydoo2 · 16/12/2009 17:30

Hi everyone

I've hardly been on this since I joined weeks ago.. sorry to put a dampener on things, I have just miscarried this week and pretty upset about the whole thing.. was in for erpc at the hospital yesterday which was grim as you'd expect. if anyone is updating the list please can you take my name off it.
Wishing you all a healthy next 6 months or so and hope all goes well for everyone having scans just now.

stac14 · 16/12/2009 17:45

roobydoo I am really sorry to hear your news.

tsc thats great your appointment went well, when are you getting your 12 week scan? A few people know about us already on the basis that the mw didnt see any problem either just want the next 2 weeks out of the way lol

How is everyone else today? I have been having the stretching pains again, kind of freaked out earlier but calmed down when I sat and thought about the fact I have had these pains for weeks lol

kkfairybrains · 16/12/2009 17:51

dairydork im from cavan what part are u from?
had a hormonal episode this morning! woke up and my boobs weren't sore and they dont feel hard anymore! and then i didnt have any weird dreams the last few nights and i didnt wake up 2 go to the loo during the night! so was sobbing thinkin things didnt look good so rang my mother who assured me that ur boobs dont stay hard the whole way through and that im nearly 12 weeks and its normal for the symptoms to go! so that made me feel a bit better and then nausea hit me midway through the day so feel better now again! cant wait for this scan on wednesday. seems like such a long wait and i just want to know that everything is ok! bit thinking of how much i panicked! how was every1 elses wednesday?

RufflesKerfluffles · 16/12/2009 18:34

Hi all,
I have been reading the thread a little, but hadn't introduced myself so thought I'd say hello. Am expecting my first on 21st July, so am 9 weeks today. No scan for me until the new year so am trying not to get jealous of those of you getting yours at the moment!

berberis · 16/12/2009 18:37

Hello everyone, it's been more than a week since have been on - busy at work, which is good because the time has flown...

roobydoo sorry to hear your news, good luck for the future.

winter that's great news, glad it went well.

I had my first scan today - I thought I was just past 11 weeks but am actually 10+5, so they couldn't do all the proper testing, but the main thing was there was a strong heartbeat, s/he looked very active - limbs waving and kicking! Still felt like it wasn't really me, it actually felt surprising to see the little thing on the screen. Will have a 12 week scan just before New Year.

Think am finally through the fatigue/sickness stage now (have had terrible cold/cough for a week, which seemed to mask every other symptom) - all you late July people, take heart, it will be over soon! (am July 10th)
xxx

violetbubbles · 16/12/2009 19:04

So sorry to hear your sad news roobydoo x

WinterMadness · 16/12/2009 19:11

Sorry to hear that Roobydoo x

WinterMadness · 16/12/2009 19:15

Stac yes, got one pic two weeks ago and two pics today as one was better of the face and the other shows the body better. Unfortunately I'm naff with computers so don't hold your breath waiting for me to upload them, lol

Gracie123 · 16/12/2009 19:18

Very sorry Roo.
Congrats winter.
Feel like I'm going to die everytime I vomit (nothing left to bring up, so just cramping and heaving away).
Only 48 hours til I get the promethazine. Just got to hold out 48 more hours...

Ack...thanks for the olfactory 'image' tsc, just what my dodgy stomach needed

kittykat77 · 16/12/2009 19:59

I too am hoping that the MS will go away soon. Just walked round the whole of Asda in the hope of finding something to eat which didn't make me feel sick. All I could find was muffins. Still I guess there are plenty of calories in those, so I won't waste away!

Sorry to hear your news Roo.

Well I have my last 2 days at work before xmas coming up, and I am really looking forward to the break (well so to speak - will still have 2 under 4 to look after, so not that quiet!)

Has anyone else got a 10 week scan as routine? I am a little confused as have always had it at 12 weeks before, so not sure why it is early this time?

stac14 · 16/12/2009 21:44

Do we want to start a list? if you want to list stats, I will throw it together.

kittykat as you are getting a scan at 10 weeks you will probably get a 12 week scan also, it's probably just been a mix up with the appointments

Hey ruffles welcome to the thread, how has your symptoms been?

winter I wanted to upload my scan I got last week but to be honest you would only be able to spot the kidney bean so I am waiting for my 12 week one so I can put that one on.

lmao tsc that was one vivid description I am the opposite it seems my body is holding onto the wind and making me very bloated.

Spirael · 17/12/2009 08:23

Morning, everyone!

I'm so sorry to hear your news, roobydoo2. I hope everything is resolved as well as can be expected and everything turns out better for you in the future. It's really not a nice thing to go through, please make sure to take it easy for a bit and be kind to yourself!

How are people doing today? Hopefully not feeling too morning sick and starting to get towards the coveted glow that's supposed to be kicking in soon?? I'm sure I was promised a glow at some point, along with no MS and lots of energy...

Currently though, I'm still battling the constant desire to sleep and anytime-except-the-morning sickness. Though the sea bands seem to be keeping it tolerable to the point where it's just an annoyance rather than constantly eyeing up the shortest route to the bathroom. I haven't actually thrown up recently, so I seem to be doing better than some. Anyone that is throwing up, you have my deepest sympathies!

I'm going to be spending today chewing nervously on my nails, I reckon. I've got my scan at 7:30pm this evening and I'm so nervous they're going to give me the look and say "There's nothing there, Spirael..." or start off the conversation with "I'm sorry but...". I have no reason to think it's gone pear shaped this time, but I just want it to be over and done with so I know one way or the other and can relax a little!

Oh well... Only another 11 hours to go... 11 short hours...

If you want me, I'll be climbing the walls!!

TishTosh21 · 17/12/2009 08:32

Morning all!
Had my booking in appointment with the lovely midwife yesterday morning. I should hear in the next couple of weeks when my scan is going to be im so excited about it!

There is SO much paperwork to fill out i didnt realise. Im seeing mw again on Tues morning to go through it all, if i get it done by then...

WinterMadness · 17/12/2009 09:07

what paperwork do you have to fill in Tishtosh ? My mw did everything, the only thing I had to fill in was my prescription exemption form I think!

Gracie123 · 17/12/2009 10:03

I had to fill in medical history/family medical history which took a while. Also wasn't sure on some of the q's so I'm going to wait and ask mw next time I see her.
Still vomiting, just carrying a bucket everwhere with me now so I don't keep spoiling the carpet. Good job dh is home because ds is starting to get a bit upset everytime I am sick. At first he thought it was amazing, then he was sympathetic, now he cries and begs for a hug - even when I'm mid vomit!
Really need to get some drugs before we go to stay with the in laws.
Pretty sure our new damp house isn't helping. Me and ds are having a hard time with asthma (inhalers two or three times a night) so lack of sleep is making me irritable and probably job helping ms.
God I'm such a complainer! Can't believe we finally got out of one bed apartment and I'm still moaning!!
I blame the hormones...

iggypiggy · 17/12/2009 10:05

So sorry to hear your news Rooby It's totally shit and miserable - so am thinking of you x

iggypiggy · 17/12/2009 10:08

spirael good luck for your scan later.

I am now only really feeling sick first thing in the morning - and if i haven't eaten for a while - which causes me to eat almost continually

Am having my usual worries that my symptoms are going... but scan isn't till 4th Jan now, so will just have to wait till then.

Chulita · 17/12/2009 11:08

gracie, I hope things settle down soon. I'm in the same boat as you so I know exactly how you're feeling

I'm hoping the mw shows today, I'm expecting her to ring to let me know a time so I can't nap even though DD's been asleep for an hour...grr! And I just know she'll visit during my friend's DD's 1st birthday party and I'll have to miss it.

It's almost the holidays! I can't wait

beckyg123 · 17/12/2009 12:22

Its lunch time! Woohoo!
I've been feeling a bit sick today but was ok yesterday and the day before so starting to think i might be coming out the other end into 2nd trimester... I too am waiting for that glow and energy we've been promised

Its my birthday today - 28! DH woke me up with some some lovely gifts and really cheered me up! He got me a mummy birthday card from "the bump" and signed it "see you soon!", oh my goodness, I have hardly stopped crying! its the sweetest thing i've ever seen... oh hormones, i'm off again thinking about it!

stac - are you still getting your hair done today? hope you enjoy a bit of pampering!

Spirael - good luck with the scan tonight. Like you say, you've no reason to think things are wrong so relax and enjoy it!

Winter so please everything is ok!

Gracie and Chulita hope your both feeling better soon. I'm not going to moan anymore about my MS as nothing in comparison!

Going out for dinner tonight... steak and onion rings i think! - sorry to those who feel sick but i'll be fine by tonight lol!!!
