Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
madmissy · 28/11/2009 21:47

Lol snitch but then i'd be same!
Lolijana we have 4 arrivals now!

lolianja · 28/11/2009 21:51

Ha!! Oh bloody hell, I'm hopeless. Very very sorry to the three folks I've missed!

Will do a quick catch up of the thread asap, I have a nasty feeling kiddo is about to wake up, he's been unsettled all this week (more teeth coming through I suspect).

madmissy · 28/11/2009 21:58

Lol! My girls have been ill with bad cold and cough and now I have it. so in bed covered in calgel vapourub lol.
1pet I started my bag today so far have dark towels, flannel, washbag with the norm, pads, er pj's to have bub in and for after shower erM thats as far as I got lol

GoldenSnitch · 28/11/2009 22:00

That's good to hear Missy. Was having some very dark thoughts last night and just assumed this was me being hormonal too. It's nice to know I'm being at least partially sane

LaDiDaDi · 28/11/2009 22:34

Need to check if I have put towels in my bag. How could I forget something so basic??

We don't have a name picked either. Think it will very much be a compromise choice rather than something that either of us love .

lolianja · 28/11/2009 22:46

LaDiDaDi - even if it is a compromise choice, you'll probably grow to love it.

I love my son James' name so much that I get a bursting feeling beneath my ribs whenever I hear it (as Adrian Mole once said of the name Pandora!) but in reality, it was my ex firing up the top 100 2007 baby names list in the hospital out of exasperation and doing the 'pick-a-number-between-1-and-100' thing. Admittedly my first pick was too vile to contemplate and my second was Mohammed, but still.

You may well feel differently once the baby arrives, too. A name may just fall into your lap and fit perfectly.

God I'm so much better at being optimistic for others than I am for myself!

LaDiDaDi · 29/11/2009 11:32

Another arrival ! Congratulations to legscrossed.

The weather here is awful today, feel pretty much trapped in the house although we are going out for a meal with friends at 4pm but it feels like an awfully long time until then.

May be forced to do "craft" aka cutting and sticking with dd. Dp got up with her this morning so she's already had a good dose of CBeebies...

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 29/11/2009 13:05

This may be TMI - alert for anyone of a sensitive nature - but DH and I decided to try a bit of luvvin last night to try and get things going but it was a dismal failure - we tried various positions but I was in agony from back pain/wrist ache/knee pain whatever we tried! It turned out to be pretty funny in the end after we could laugh about it but at the time was incredibly irritating for both of us and I now feel like an enormous whale.

Any advice? Is it a myth that people are actually managing it or are you all having really satisfying sex at the moment? Please help with any ideas to help!!!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/11/2009 13:10

Congratulations legcrossed!

1 week 5 days till due day.
She needs to hurry. I want to be able to breathe again and not have to sit at a weird angle because of her, what feels to be, abnormally large head between my legs.

GoldenSnitch · 29/11/2009 13:11

I'm not the person to ask as we've only attempted it once since I was told my placenta was low lying at 20 weeks!! Can't wait till Wednesday when they (hopefully) tell me it's moved out of the way.

The only thing that worked last time was spooning with a cushion between my knees....

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/11/2009 13:17

Either spooning or if you can get on your hands and knees mind you that might be a bit painful...
I'd say spooning.
Im no where near even contemplating sex yet. TBH its been that long I think ive forgotten how you do it.

LaDiDaDi · 29/11/2009 13:19

Dp hasn't been interested since I started to show at around 20 weeks....

I am gagging for it right now!!!

However no doubt once ds is out then my head will be all over the place and I won't be interested until March! Found it really hard to relax enough for sex after dd, totally a mental thing, like I was on high-alert even if she was fast asleep and content.

GoldenSnitch · 29/11/2009 13:20

in the meantime I've bought two pineapples as they were £1 each in Tesco

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/11/2009 13:56

When I spoke to the midwife she told me its the core of the pineapple that works best.
Not exactly appetising to munch on the horrible hard bit though...

Catz · 29/11/2009 14:02

Congratulations legscrossed. Hope the birth went well - was the CS planned? Giving birth is inspiring whichever way they come out!

Can I just moan for a moment as having a bit of a rubbish weekend. First thing yesterday morning DH found our hot water tank was leaking, took up carpets and big pool of water had soaked into baby's room, electricity kept going. Luckily we have emergency 24 hr home emergency insurance, all the advertising is about rapid response to just this sort of problem, so called them... can send someone out on Mon. I did a bit of the 'but I'm about to give birth' thing and they found someone to come out yesterday. Waited from 9am, phone call at 6. He was feeling ill and had gone home but we'd be called first thing this morning. No-one called, no-one answered phone. Insurance company eventually tracked them down. They are coming 'very soon'. We are STILL waiting. I am going mad with cabin fever. Was awake for 3 hrs with strong braxton hicks last night and quite a few sporadically today so a bit nervous about going too far out alone. DD very bored too.

BexJ78 · 29/11/2009 14:03

well done everyone! i have a pineapple too and still on with the raspberry leaf tabs. Nothing doing here though. Went to a party last night thought the excitement might start me off....but no...6 days to DD but could be some time i think!
take care everyone. xxx

Catz · 29/11/2009 14:06

Can I ask a TMI question. Have any of you been getting VERY watery discharge? I keep getting very damp. I'm sure it's not wee and think it's just weird discharge but not quite sure how to tell between that and leaking waters. Sorry for the TMI!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/11/2009 14:24

Catz, yes I do. Weird isnt it. I know its def not wee because im struggling to go atm. Its also def not waters because considering how long ive been having it I wouldnt have any left by now!

GoldenSnitch · 29/11/2009 15:33

I've been having loads of discharge for weeks. It's not nice but I think it's normal.

Falling out with DH at the moment. We're supposed to be building Catherine's wardrobe but as ever, he is making a half arsed job of it. So far, he's taken 3 huge lumps out of the cot while standing it up, he's cut a hole out of the back so we can get to the plug socket - in the wrong place! and it's wonky! I know it's an IKEA wardrobe but still!!

I've had to leave the room cause I cannot do "ah well, if we do this we can fix it/it'll be OK" any more. Everything feels second rate and rubbish. I'm so sick of living in a half finished house filled with half done jobs and second hand/second rate furniture.

anniebigpants · 29/11/2009 18:40

Just popping in quickly ladies as DS2 is stirring and he needs a feed. Welcome to the other new arrivals.
Will post birth story when i have more time, it didnt go as planned and ended up with another em CS, but there were signs of potential scar rupture, so for the best really!!

Will have proper catch up soon, take care everyone and maybe we have had more new arrivals over the weekend?
