Claire236 · 27/11/2009 14:19

Thanks madmissy. I'm prone to depression & dh feels like he loses me so I know what you mean.

dh was having this afternoon off work as I was supposed to be going to work Christmas do. Because I'm shattered from last nights contractions & having them about every 10 mins currently I didn't go. I thought he'd still stay home as ds is off school & I could do with a rest but he's stayed at work. Said he couldn't see the point of being here if I'm going to be at home anyway. Need this baby out soon for the sake of my marriage, had a very emotional row a few nights ago. It wasn't pretty & we're really not getting on very well recently. He thinks I'm a grumpy, whinging cow & I think he's a heartless git is pretty much how things stand.

sparklycheerymummy · 27/11/2009 15:32

Youre not alone Claire.... same happening here every week or two we have a blow out. he doent understand about depression and says i am almost encouraging it buy thinking about how to deal with it if it happens..... trouble is the Cognitive therapy i have had is all about dealing with the future differently and working things through till you find perspective so just hoping it doesnt happen is not an option but dealing with situations as they arrive is!!!! Here if you need to talk Claire but you are not whinging ..... sounds like you are having a tough old time!!!!

Scorps · 27/11/2009 16:01

Oooh Claire i would whip his ass . Seriously though, it's quite normal in pregnancy, most men are a bit rubbish about it and don't understand. I was so exhausted in the early months, but instead of talk through my DH saw fit to start seeing a teenage girl! We had an arguement on Sunday; not a pretty one at all and tonight is the first time i can de-brief him on it. He is in for it.

I always want to hire an empathy belly. He is very good when im heavy pg, but rubbish the other times.

Congrats to Kingsroadie, can't believe we've got 4 out already!

I started mat. leave today, yipee . But I'm full of horrid cold/flu , wonder if it's swine flu but it certainly rules me out of having the jab for the time being.

Now I'm just scared at the possibility of going into labour before my section date....

I don't think dp realises how rough I'm feeling at all.

madmissy · 27/11/2009 19:37

claire yes makes plenty of sense. my dh feels like he only has just got me back.

your dh probably feels completelty powerless and can see you slipping away.

get a appt at the ante natal clinic and let it all spill out. my offer stands on a chat if you want it

hang in though... don't give up all efforts to stay up beat this is the final stretch now... almost there.

but defo speak to dh about how you are feeling properly make sure he is aware just how low you are getting he needs to be prepared and support you. he just needs kick up the arse and reminding just how important his support is right now xxx

madmissy · 27/11/2009 19:39

we are all full of cold/flu here its horrible! i forget its that time of year! grrr

Mybox · 27/11/2009 20:01

Well done Kingsroadie - many congratulations!

Here having bh contractions that are strong and wake me up (not difficult to do!)

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 27/11/2009 20:27

Lots of BH cons here this evening, plus feeling sick, plus back ache. Bet it's nothing though!

Sorry to all those having a bad time, remember emotions are very heightened on both sides at the moment - men are rubbish at expressing how they're feeling but if they're anything my DH they are nervous, stressed, anxious and excited but bottling it up and as usual letting it all out in a weird way by either being an arsehole, appearing uninterested or trying to be blasé about the whole thing.

Bless em x

sparklycheerymummy · 27/11/2009 20:41

snap fed up!!!! Fingers crossed!!! xx

GoldenSnitch · 27/11/2009 22:07

Ooh, a new thread.

Got back from Center Parcs a couple of hours ago but am too tired to do much unpacking so I thought I would check how many babies have been born while I've been away instead

Congratulations to the new Mummies.

Feeling like we're getting closer here too. Have had no heartburn since about Wednesday but I'm back to needing to pee every five minutes so I'm guessing all that walking about at CP has moved DD down a bit. Still getting lots of kicks just to the right of my belly button though so it feels like she's back to back at the moment - just like DS was when he was born.

Am 36 weeks this weekend. Might start on the pineapple and Raspberry Leaf. Got my plancental location scan on Wednesday so will be able to try sex too once I know the placenta is out of the way.

Ready to stop being pregnant now even if I still can't quite believe I'm having a baby yet!!

Milliemuffin · 27/11/2009 22:16

Also having a really bad week with DP. He's self employed and we're behind on our bills already, he just keeps telling companies/mortgage we'll pay some next week then tonight he says we can replace our tele and buy new wardrobes before Xmas which I simply point out we have more important things to deal with and he goes off on one saying I never trust him when he says things are going to change. 4 years we've lived together and 4 years I've been given the same story. He promised me something in 2007 and then promised again for my 30th in June and it still hasn't happened. Why should I believe every month that thingsll change just to be let down every month, I just try and let it wash over me because 95% of the time I'm right even though he always has an excuse 'cos it's never his fault'. Tonights my second night in a row of going to bed alone, depressed and wondering what the future holds.

Shimmer · 27/11/2009 23:27

Hi all. This is such an exciting thread! Just been reading through, so wonderful to hear the birth annoucements! Bet they'll start coming thick and fast soon!

I'm due DC2 (DS1 nearly 3) on 15th Dec, so have added myself to your list if that's okay! I have peeked in at this thread a few times in the last 8 months, but never got round to saying hi until now. I should be going to bed, but I'm sleeping really badly at the moment and know I wouldn't fall asleep, so thought I'd just hang around on here instead!

Sorry to hear about your "issues" with DP/Hs Claire and Millie. Sounds so fustrating! Men are impossible aren't they!?! Claire I don't think you should ever worry about whining to much at this stage of pregnancy!

Just been reading one of the discussions of the day on here 'New Baby - Really, how hard can it be?' and now I'm a bit freaked out because i've remembered that having a newborn is actually pretty tough I'm lucky i've had an easy pregnancy, so actually I reckon i'm probably better off with LO staying put inside for a bit longer than coming out and turning everything upside down with constant feeding/no sleep etc.?!?!?!?

Can't believe it is due date and dp has just shouted at me for half hour..... despite me crying and begging him to talk not shout......now he has stormed out taking his car and wont answer his phone. its due date ffs. i suggested we went christmas shopping for his side of the family and his 2 boys.... he has just got last pay packet before christmas and after christmas my wages go down and he needs to give me more as all bills etc come out of my account cos he is so bad with money and the idea was i helped him stay on top of stuff by him putting so much in my account every month instead of having lots of different payments to make.Anyway he has told me I am no better than his ex wife..... who he is still married to!!! touchy subject!!!)

He has worked lots through my pregnancy and has not been very kind at times when he has been around...... says things like.... oh poor you..... its all about you..... this pregnancy is taking over my f*ing whole life!!!! I feel as if he has an underlying issue i dont know about that keeps flaring up. my ex p had affairs but i trust this dp so not sure what to feel or think. All i know is that our baby is due to day and he has just told me what a shit person i am...... i have said before i suffer with depression and although it seems ok at moment i am feeling incredibly emotional and in need of hugs and all he can do is shout. sorry seriously feeling sorry for myself and my poor baby in my tummy who has just had to endure its daddy shouting and its mummy crying lots!!

Scorps · 28/11/2009 14:24

sparkly, hope you are feeling better. Bloody men. The more i hear, the more i hate them!

Looking forward to an Indian and Xfactor tonight

Wow Kingsroadie, we have planned to call this one Elizabeth Rose!!
You have good taste!!

Sparkly I hope you feel better soon and hopefully he will come back with his tail between his legs.

Welcome to the thread Shimmer.

Welcome back Snitch! hope you had a good time at CP!

Works do tonight but im absolutely knackered between waiting up for DH to come back from drinking in London last night and then being up all night (literally, watching crap telly on as quiet as it goes) with cystitis. Thinking longingly of the cystitis relief sachets I had in my medicine box that I couldnt take.

GoldenSnitch · 28/11/2009 17:35

Need a quick vent but it's not worth a whole thread so I thought I'd do it here...

DH's mate just came round with his almost 4 year old son. DS and this boy were playing "lions" which for my DS means crawling round on the floor growling but not this kid! No, he came over while I'm loading the washing machine (already a tough task when bending is not as easy as it might be) and BITES ME on the back of the leg - hard enough to leave a mark (which still hurts now) through jeans!!!

Little sod has gone home now but I'm really annoyed. I've been in a great mood while we've been away and since we got back but this sore mark on the back of my leg is really winding me up (which I blame on the preg hormones as obviously it's a little thing)

Every time he comes over, he breaks or ruins something - last time, he unwound and stuffed a whole toilet roll down the loo blocking it - yet when he said he needed the loo this time, DH's mate happily tells him to go upstairs alone! He didn't even ask him to apologise when he bit me!!

Grrrr!!

Feel better now. Thanks

Sorry your DH is being such an arse Sparkly. Maybe he's just nervous about the impending arrival? I hope so.

Lovely name Kingsroadie - we were thinking of using Elizabeth as Catherine's middle name but DH prefers Emily and as I won on the first name, I'm considering letting him have it.

GoldenSnitch · 28/11/2009 17:36

Oh, and I had a fab time at CP thanks ABF. Very tired and in bed by 9 most nights but loads of fun

madmissy · 28/11/2009 18:45

snitch glad to hear CP was good break for you!

what a sod with re to the boy! did you tell the mum?

sparkly how you feeling? any better? has dp calmed down and come back yet?

GoldenSnitch · 28/11/2009 19:06

It was his Dad he was with. I did mention it but nothing was said or done.

Parents are in the middle of a messy divorce which is why I'm trying to be nice and letting the little monster round here in the first place but I think I'll go back to making excuses for a while again now. Do not want him near my newborn! He makes DS all argumentative and psycho too!!

madmissy · 28/11/2009 20:16

hmm possibly why his behavior is so bad?

im having nightmare over names!! was dead cert on Carter but now i like

Carter
Dexter
Ashton
Mason

help! think i need to stop thinking! just see hwat he looks like when hes born!?

1petshortofazoo · 28/11/2009 20:19

So I have washed all baby clothes and near enough packed my hosp bag, just need to buy some nursing bras.

I now feel really excited and positive about the birth after the arrivals we've had. On one hand I want him here now but on the other I dont as the pram doesnt arrive 'til the middle of December

is everyone else packed or has any tips on things to pack.

just wondering how many vests, body suits, outfits people have packed??

1petshortofazoo · 28/11/2009 20:21

we've narrowed it down to 2 names and then we are going to decide when he is born, thats what we did with DS

out choices are Harrison and Reegan

GoldenSnitch · 28/11/2009 21:34

Possibly Madmissy but he wasn't an angel beforehand either.

Must be the hormones to get me this wound up about a bite from a 4 year old! I've got a nasty red welt on the back of my leg though!

lolianja · 28/11/2009 21:37

Congratulatuons charley! Can't believe we have our first arrival already, a sobering thought! And considering I'm carrying 2, I can't believe it's not me! Am 36 weeks on Tuesday and have had one false alarm. Aside from that, absolutely no indication that their arrival is imminent. Am making the most of my 9-month-old son James being an only child while I can. To say it's gone past in a heartbeat is something of an understatement.

Have been ridiculously indecisive about names this pregnancy but pretty much settled on Dominic and Alice for a boy and a girl. Less sure for boy/boy and girl/girl, have some ideas jotted but I'm pretty confident it's boy/girl (had better be given how set Ii am on Dominic and Alice!). Admittedly I was woefully wrong with James - we had our strong suspicions that he was a girl confirmed by scan, only to discover minutes after the birth that our newborn daughter had a penis - but I think this time round I'm correct although won't be laying my life on it after last time! My ex (babies' father) knows, was scribbled down on request by ultrasound tech and sent to him and he's a terrible liar whose vocal cues over the phone have essentially confirmed my hunch!

Fluid levels still pretty low and twin 1 still breech and low down. Have another appointment in a couple of days. Down for section on December 16th if they haven't chosen to try and make an appearance by that point. Am kind of hoping they will though, just so I can get the whole shebang all over and done with (reeeally don't want a caesarian but no choice under the circumstances).

Hoping all's well with everybody else and that there'll be more babies soon!
