Congratulations to Bex and TillyScoutmum!! Still no baby here AND my cold, which disappeared for about 2 days has returned with a vengence! I finished a course of anti-biotics for a sinus infection 2 days ago and was feeling fine, but it's just come back. I feel so shit. Also, most of my family have now turned up to visit me and are completely stressing me out. I have, (very nicely I think) asked them to leave tomorrow, and they seem to understand that I really can't cope with guests at the moment. But I still feel a bit guilty. The house, which I spent AGES cleaning/sorting out, about a week ago (when i thought LO was about to arrive!) is filthy and a mess again but I feel too ill to tidy it all again. Moan Moan Moan..............Grrrrrrr

Thanks for the advice on the EPO Milly. Have been using it the last few nights - fingers crossed between that, all the RLT, pineapple and long brisk walks, something coaxes LO out soon!

GoldenSnitch · 17/12/2009 06:32

Well, today's the day! Been up half the night with BH so definitely looking forward to having this all over and done with.

Will let you know when baby is here!

Hope Missy is back on later with her birth story. ABF too...

Good luck girls!

Stigaloid · 17/12/2009 09:02

Aww ((hugs)) shimmer - hope you get well soon. Good luck Snitch.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 17/12/2009 09:35

GOOD LUCK SNITCH!!!

Hope you feel better soon shimmer.
Stig, I really feel for you having sickness right until the last minute, thankfully mine went around 36/37 weeks, hopefully once the baby is here you can took in to some nice grub without fear of return!

Missy seems quiet I bet she's having the baby.

Gah I have sweep booked for Friday going to go through with it this time because im desperate. I phoned my midwife last night and she said that she was off till January now so would I mind if someone else did it, I told her that the bloody prince of wales himself could come and do it for all I care I just want the baby out.
Going for another walk today see if that does anything.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 17/12/2009 09:36

Tuck not took

Stigaloid · 17/12/2009 11:03

Aww thanks Amazing! Am hoping so too. Am also hoping to actually be able to finish a plate of food as it has been ages since i could fill myself without fear of it all reappearing! Although bonus is i have hardly gained any weight i think this time round - all baby!

I had my sweep yesterday. Baby still in womb but have had bloody show and last time i had a sweep my son was born within 36 hours!

Am off to shops and cinema to take mind off things. Am hoping i can make it through whole movie before labour but taking notes and smallish bag with me just in case! LOL!

Will keep you posted. Good luck with your sweep.

anniebigpants · 17/12/2009 12:08

Hope all our mummies of new babies, and of expectant arrivals are doing well. Im slowly adjusting to the hectic life of a mum of two, (hats off to scorps and mybox who have 4+ children, dont know how you do it!).
Have put pics of Ellis on my profile if anyone wants a nosey.

theGreatPumpkin · 17/12/2009 15:23

I have just had a sweep, never had one before so I am reassured that they can work quite quickly (thanks Stigaloid). Everything feels good apparently, stretchy to 3 cms so really am hoping baby appears soon and I don't have to be induced. On Christmas Eve

Stigaloid · 17/12/2009 16:25

Great pics annie greatpumpkin - will keep fingers crossed for you. Am having the odd twinge but nothing regular yet....

1petshortofazoo · 17/12/2009 18:59

Just got back from hosp, scan is showing this one to be 8lb 12oz which is bigger than ds was. Consultant wanted to book me in for a cs but I said no. So he examined me to see if I was favorable for induction, I was 2cm so gave me a sweep (ouch!) And booked me in for induction on saturday :-) but saying that I am having mild contractions about 10ish mins apart and now i'm scared lol.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 17/12/2009 20:31

Oooh 1pet, hope this is things getting going for you.

I ended up not bothering with the walk! Went for lunch and then cinema, Avatar, quite good and I managed to get all the way through it without going the loo!

Glad to hear of all these people surviving their sweeps, Im getting far to het up and worried about it.

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 17/12/2009 21:06

Ooo this thread is getting more exciting every day, all these babies and contractions! I want mine now too!

Had massive pains last night but put it down to stress as had to deal with neighbours cat having a very bad fit on my back door step (neighbours weren't in, had to phone them). He tends to stay in our garden a lot to get some peace from the dog he lives with, and during the summer likes to come into our house to get fussed over my DD. Found out this morning that he had to be put down as he'd gone blind and lost the use of his back legs. Neighbours in bits and so are we. Have no idea how to tell DD, think we'll wait till she looks for him out the back door.

Then yesterday eve, DH got offered a job he'd been headhunted for . It's taken nearly 3 months for it all to be sorted, so relief but on the other hand DC2 will barely be 6wks when DH has to start the new job. It will involve a 4 wk training session 150 miles away. Oh, it never rains but it pours right?

Anyway, congrats to all who have babes, and good luck to those in the finally stages.

COngratulations to all new mums and glad to see anothe 10lb plus baby (still in shock at my 10lb 11ozer!!!!!!_ My ds has only lost 1.5ozs in his first week so my breastfeeding must be going ok!!!! Just written 80 Christmas cards amd ds has slept for 3 hours.......but now will be awake all night i bet!!!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 18/12/2009 09:17

Sparkly - I bet you are . Everyone keeps commenting how huge my baby is - but he still looks and feels tiny to me .

Good luck to everyone else.

My milk is in today and I'm going to see dd's first nativity play. Its going to be an emotional day

LaDiDaDi · 18/12/2009 09:18

Well done with that feeding sparkly .

Have a lovely day Tillyscoutmum.

Dd wants to go out in the snow !

1petshortofazoo · 18/12/2009 10:04

Well I managed to get a pretty good nights sleep but contractions seem to have slowed down grrr! Had a bloody show this morning so i'm bouncing away to try and get things going again!
Good luck everyone, we seem to get a lot of the babies at a weekend. And I hope the snow isn't causing anyone too much disruption x

AmazingBouncingFerret · 18/12/2009 11:35

Well...
Had my sweep about 10 minutes ago! midwife said I was very favourable, the cervix is very thin and babies head is really low. I wanted to go out but she said best not to and that im most likely to go into labour today and to phone hospital as soon as I start havving contractions due to how low babies head is and how quick my first birth was!
Im now guzzling fruit juice because ?I depserately need to go the toilet but am feeling a bit "blocked"!
Feel like my typng is really shit because of god awful period like pains!

Im glad feeding is going well sparkly.
Annie your DS pictures are adorable!
Millie posted pics of her DD on facebook, she is absolutely gorgeous!

Stigaloid · 18/12/2009 12:05

Yay amazing that is great news. My sweep didn't work - am still pregnant and really disappointed. Midwife said i was very favourable too with low head and could stretch to 3cms but aside from a show, nothing Have warned hubby that if baby is not here by tomorrow evening then he will have to man up and perform!

So over being pregnant - am baking bread at the moment but plan on going for long walk this afternoon.

Good luck to you Amazing and Greatpumpkin

Shimmer · 18/12/2009 12:26

How are you all enjoying the snow?!? I've just taken DS out in it for a while, which he loved! Freeeeeeeezing though. Brrrrrr.

Good news on the sweep ABF! Sounds like your LO should be with you very soon!!

Fingers crossed contractions progress today 1pet!

I'm fairly sure my waters broke last night. Woke up about 1am all wet. My waters didn't break til I was really far gone last time though, so it was a bit of a new experience for me, but I'm fairly sure it was waters and not just me having an accident! Called the hospital and they said I didn't need to come in straight away becasue I wasn't having contractions and also because of the weather conditions! So, still no contractions yet today but am now booked in for induction tomorrow morning. Would love for things to kick off naturally sometime today, but if they don't, at least I know I should definitely be getting a baby sometime this weekend!!

theGreatPumpkin · 18/12/2009 15:06

My sweep hasn't worked yet either, although did have a show this morning. That was a shocker, I had no idea how gross they are! Still keeping my fingers crossed (but not legs ) that things will kick off soon.

madmissy · 18/12/2009 16:27

Still in hosp so quick hello.
Brodie finally arrived at 9.29am today. Hard labour, back to back and came out facing up! 8lb 10.5oz no tears or damage to me thankfully! Had blood loss again as placenta retained but fab midwife got it out. On ward waiting to see if I can go home. Shattered.
Good luck with sweeps x

Stigaloid · 18/12/2009 18:26

Woah well done MIssy congrats to you and hope you get to go home soon

AmazingBouncingFerret · 18/12/2009 19:04

Yay missy well done!
Im still here, quite nastyish contractions every 15 minutes, but nothing to scream about. Am waiting till every 5 before I go hospital.
I went against advice and went out and hopefully it helped things along.

1petshortofazoo · 18/12/2009 20:09

Well done missy!
ABF how exciting, maybe we will both have our lo's by tomorrow x
