Still being sick. So fed up with this. Have mid wife appointment tomorrow where she will be doing a sweep so hopefully i wont be having morning sickness much longer. so over being unwell.

BexJ78 · 15/12/2009 23:17

Hi All

Baby announcement here too! Anna Elizabeth Bluebell born Sunday 13th Dec at 11.45pm! Have been in hosp a couple of days as she got stuck so had to have assisted delivery, then when she finally emerged cord snapped. Then had retained placenta so at end of it all, and after having laboured in pool and just with gas and air, needed a bloody spinal for a manual removal!!!
She was 9lb 13oz and measured 56cm long!

Will write more later, but wanted to let you know. Good luck to everyone who's still waiting and congrats on the other new arrivals! Will catch up on all the news over the next few days.

Stigaloid · 16/12/2009 05:38

Congrats Bex - sounds like you have been through the ringer a bit but great news to hear you are back home and your beautiful daughter has arrived.

covycrump · 16/12/2009 08:53

Congratulations to Bex, and all the other new mummies since I last posted. I had no idea that a cord snapping was even possible!

I wish my baby would come. What I believe were Braxton Hicks were continuous all day yesterday, and I really mean all day - literally non-stop gripping. It eased off overnight (probably because I was horizontal or something) but is starting up again now. Oh joy. So fed up with pregnancy now.

Stigaloid, hope your sweep is productive today; I have mine to look forward to tomorrow.

GoldenSnitch · 16/12/2009 09:38

Am absolutely fuming at DH!

Weeks ago, before we even had the section date, he booked a half day off today so he could come with DS and I to an event run by the council in one of the local parks. Quick walk round the park, followed by messy play and Santa in the pavillion - even a present - and it's free!

So obviously, I've not been well, but I had a great nights sleep so we decided to go anyway. DS woke us up at 7.30 (DH usually gets up at 5.45 to go to work) and we had breakfast.

Since then, DH has gone back to bed!!! I warned him half an hour before we were due to leave and he is still in bed! So now, we need to go in 5 mins and I'm going to go without him.

What was the point of taking the time off work - and saying yesterday that as he'd finished everything he needed to yesterday, working from home was probably only going to involve checking his e-mail so he could be here (he tends to go to hims Mums for some peace and quiet if he's working cause the computer at our house is in the lounge) and look after us - if he's going to f-in sleep!!?!!

Not really letting me rest before the ELCS tomorrow is it?!

Git.

Congrats Bex

madmissy · 16/12/2009 10:06

Congrats bex thats similar to what happened with dd2.
At hosp had first gel so watch this space....

AmazingBouncingFerret · 16/12/2009 10:25

Congratulations Bex!! Beautiful name.

Snitch you need to go fill a glass with water then walk into bedroom complaining of heartburn or stomach or something accidentally on purpose tripping up and spilling said glass of water over DH, that should get him up, if you are good with dramatics you could (carefully) throw yourself to the floor at the same time so he cant be mad at you, because, really, who in their right mind could be mad at a full term pregnant woman thats fallen over...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 16/12/2009 10:25

meant to be stomach ache

GoldenSnitch · 16/12/2009 12:41

He got up just in time and we had a lovely time making christmas decorations with DS and seeing Santa. He is forgiven.

Can't afford to be mad at him today!!

Stigaloid · 16/12/2009 13:33

Had mid wife appointment and sweep! Didn't hurt at all so know i am favourable - MW said cervix was very soft and stretchy and could sweep to 3 cms so hopefully it will work and baby will be here by weekend! Fingers crossed!

LaDiDaDi · 16/12/2009 14:05

Congratulations Bex, fab name.

Pleased you had a nice morning GS.

We went to see dd in her nativity this morning, it was lovely, they were all so cute!

Now I'm just psyching myself up to decorate the Christmas cake with her. I did the marzipan and a layer of plain white icing the other evening so hopefully we should manage to use a cutter to cut tree shapes out of green icing without too much trauma....it would help if I wasn't such a control freak obv .

GoldenSnitch · 16/12/2009 14:13

LaDiDaDi -I'm trying to relax enough to let DS help me with the tree!

I need to chill out and actually let him help without taking over though!

LaDiDaDi · 16/12/2009 16:43

Done the cake, it looks quite nice. Dd helped a bit and then just enjoyed playing with the icing as though it was playdough and making "cakes".
In fact it went so well that I thenmade tree decorations with her, a little Dr Oetker kit thing, and they seem to have worked quite well so long as they harden ok as they cool.

Dd now watching Show Me, Show Me and I don't feel at all guilty !

LaDiDaDi · 16/12/2009 16:44

Sorry, meant to say that I hope you've managed to do the tree ok GS. Best Wishes for tomorrow !!!!!!! if I don't get to "speak" to you again.

GoldenSnitch · 16/12/2009 17:14

Thanks LaDiDaDi. No phone call today so I guess were all go for tomorrow!!

Beginning to get a little nervous now.

Just doing DS some dinner then he's off to MIL's for a sleepover and then I'm going to make DH take me out for dinner as this might be our last child-free night for a long while.

Might even do a face mask and straighten my hair tonight so I don't look so much like a scarecrow in the post birth pics this time

Tree is up - took two attempts as I hated the first go and took it all down again. It's still not perfect but DS "helped" so it's special. Cake is finished, Xmas food I need to provide is in the freezer, hospital bags are packed...

All ready to go!

Milliemuffin · 16/12/2009 17:40

Snitch - best of luck for 2mrw xx

Tillyscoutsmum · 16/12/2009 18:18

Hey all

My ds finally arrived at 5.33 am yesterday (15th) on his due date. I was in slow labour from Friday night with very painful contractions starting Sunday. Baby was back to back so progression was sloooooowwwww. Managed with TENS and gas air and Fergus Alexander finally "popped" out weighing 10lb 5oz. Badly torn and a good few stitches needed but we were home the same day and are both fine and Fergus is getting to know his big sister

Good luck to everyone else. Will check back soon xx

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 16/12/2009 19:57

Wow. Congratulations to all the new arrivals.

Am getting thoroughly fed up now of being pregnant (just 38 weeks today) Have been sick now for just over a fortnight and nowt is staying down. MW "helpful" comment was 'oh well...'

HAve my 38 week check up tomorrow at the hospital with a consultant so we'll see what they say (have actually lost weight in the last 2 weeks) Still none the wiser why 'm seeing a consultant but hopefully they'll be a bit more helpful than my midwife (who is lovely but seems to spend most of the clinic time walking around with her head in the clouds)

Tried the EP oil last night and had a bout of the most cracking BH so Will persever with it!

Good luck and looking forward to hearing about some more new arrivals

Claire236 · 16/12/2009 20:15

Congratulations Bex & Tilly. Good luck GS & madmissy

LaDiDaDi · 16/12/2009 20:21

Congrats Tillyscoutmum , does this mean a name change for you??

Good luck to you too, madmissy.

Stigaloid · 16/12/2009 20:23

Woah Tilly - that is a big bubba - well done you! Hope you heal soon

LittleMonkey - i have had morning sickness (throwing up) every week for the last 37 weeks - i feel and know your pain - not long to go and hope you start feeling better soon.

Still waiting for sweep to work......

lolianja · 16/12/2009 20:36

My cervix is "thick, closed and posterior".

38 weeks and almost 2 days and they seem as happy in there as ever. Grrr.

lolianja · 16/12/2009 20:40

Oh and big congrats to Bex and Tillyscoutmum!

1petshortofazoo · 16/12/2009 20:44

Wow another arrival! Congratulations :-)
I feel really tired tonight and could really murder a nice cold glass of wine! I wish....
Roll on 2.30 tomorrow for my growth scan!

GoldenSnitch · 16/12/2009 22:26

Have been to Pizza Express and am now full of enough calories to see me through till tomorrow afternoon

Trying to remember that the needles will hurt a lot less than contractions as I keep getting worked up about the epidural and scaring myself!

I think the way to go is to try to pretend like the op is never happening and concentrate on being excited about meeting my baby.

Will let you all know how it goes..

Congratulations to Tillyscoutmum - love the name, especially the Alexander part as that is DS's name
