My uterus has to be toned???? This was never mentioned at the gym.

Perhaps I should've had some, my tummy is awful! I still look at least 6 months, just waiting to hear about physio as my muscles are separated about 4 inches apart!

After pains haven't been half as bad as I expected though - nothing a bit of deep breathing couldn't cope with and they've finished now.

Moosy OUCH! And I had forgot about the afterpains..... til now had none with DD1, with DD2 they were awful

Same here, nothing with DD1, with DD2 they had me climbing the walls so I was really dreading this time but they were actually a real non-event! The MW told me to keep topped up on Ibuprofen to help them and I don't know if that's what did it or if they just weren't that bad. She also told me to keep weeing very often (about every 2 hours), apparently if you have a full bladder your uterus can't contract so well, so keeping it empty means less pain and less bleeding which is certainly the case here, I'm hardly bleeding anymore

Will remember the bladder thing and stock up on Ibuprofen - the afterpains after DS had me crying out and he was my first!

Not too bad actually, I've had my mum here a bit helping out when DH isn't here (he's self employed so no pat leave) and I seem to be mending very well so not struggling too much physically either. Sure I'll change my views in a couple of days when the happy hormones wear off and the blues hit!

Both girls have been at preschool today which has been very nice, although it does mean that DD2 will be hard work tomorrow as she'll be tired from today.

two of the eight of us from my NCT have now had their LO's so seeming more real now!!

hey guys i have done a bit of nipple twiddling but thought i would try my bargain medela mini breast pump..... £12 off ebay. It works fab...... and i am having some pains..... would laugh if it had got me going when my induction is due in the morning!!! I was a bit off put by the 'milk' coming out already but mostly impressed that i had spent £12 rather than £55 and after sterilising it who knows it isnt new...... came with box, instructions etc etc .

Thinking of you today sparkly!

I have midwife at 4 shes going to try another sweep for me hope that my cervix isn;t as prosterior as last time

Well, I've packed hospital bag and written my birth plan so we're all go now...

I dug out my old plan and changed it with the help of some lovely ladies on here. Including Charleymouse

It brought back some terrible memories and I cried quite a bit but I'm glad it's done now.

Do you just write one out yourself?
Think mine will be only have 1 thing on it which is "Sorry no epidural" But they know that anyway.
Meh just shove me in the bath and let me get on with it!!

Didn't have plan with mine either tbh. Just go with flow lol. I'd have a plan if having a elcs though.

Had my sweep and my cervix has moved forward and is shorter so the cramping i'm getting must be doing something! She had bloomin good stretch etc and could feel all around his head. I'm measuring 39 plus now! And he is fully engaged she reckons something will happen soon so we will see!

I hope you don't mind me posting on here, but I saw this thread in active convos and it just took me back 2 years to when I was waiting for DC2 to be born - desperately hoping to give birth before Christmas so that I could eat a huge celebratory Christmas lunch and not get heartburn!

In the end, he wasn't born until a couple of days after Christmas, but I now have the most wonderful, funny and sweet nearly-2-year-old boy I could possibly imagine, he really lights up my life.

So I just wanted to wish you all lots and lots of luck for your special Christmas bundles!

Aww thank you Tikkabillajive, I did the same thing a few weeks ago when I saw a "due in August 2010" antenatal thread, couldnt help posting on there with a hint of nostalgia!
