GoldenSnitch · 06/12/2009 13:30

I feel like I've been walking around with a spiky pine cone in my bits all day! Was just the odd stab as she moved last night but now it's when I loved too.

I think it's just the babies moving down 1pet

BexJ78 · 06/12/2009 13:34

Hi all. No news here, apart from having put up my christmas tree!
apart from that nothing to report. hope you are all ok and giving those troublesome DH/DP's a taste of their own medicine!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 06/12/2009 15:44

Oh god theres a thread on the pets board about someones hamster breaking its back, its really upset me!!! Must be hormonal as normally, yes, I would find it sad but I wouldnt be this gutted about it.

Going to put up our tree later this evening, dont really want it up this early but if I dont do it soon it'll never get done.

Im back in bed feeling miserable after a trip shopping for a new iron, seems like only a little bit of walking now sets the nerve pain off. grrr.

Hope things start happening soon for you sparkly.
Snitch, will be thinking of you when you go for your appt.

Stigaloid · 06/12/2009 17:23

1pet - have been having the same. Feels like baby is punching my cervix every so often - makes me squeak with pain at times. so over being pregnant now. 10 days to go

sparklycheerymummy · 06/12/2009 17:42

had sex again today.... dp thinks it is his birthday.... i am just using him for what he might set off!!!!

Othe than that I am fed fed fed up and dp has arranged for friends to come round this evening!!!!!

GoldenSnitch · 06/12/2009 17:51

Thanks ABF I'm hoping we get a good date for the section.

Am being a bit of a grump about our decorations and not putting them up till next weekend. DS is fascinated and is forever touching the trees we see when were out shopping so I know he'll be the same with our tree. The less time I have to spend repeating "leave the baubles alone" the better

madmissy · 06/12/2009 19:04

Got our tree up last weekend! I do love xmas!

Can't wait for tomorrow afternoon! Hope labour starts or I get a induction date.

Hips are sore today ABF sorry nerve pain is no better

I won't go looking for the hamster thread

DD1 had a fabby birthday today can't believe shes 4

LaDiDaDi · 06/12/2009 21:16

I've had a nice weekend, went out for a meal last night and took dd swimming this afternoon.

Feeling with a friend who has justcome back from being away for 6 weeks and who has made comments on the phone about how she "can't wait to see me looking all big and fat" . I know that it's probably because I'm usually really slim and she has struggled with her weight in the past (but not now) but it is irritating, especially as I do feel like a beached whale! I've put on almost 2 stone so far...

madmissy · 06/12/2009 21:24

pah laugh it off this is the one time we can make the most of being a whale

GoldenSnitch · 06/12/2009 21:27

Make the most of not having to hold your tummy in when you see her

LaDiDaDi · 06/12/2009 21:52

Hmmm yes GS. Once I've actually had him then it will be worse!

madmissy · 06/12/2009 22:09

eeek don't think about after yet! i'm trying not too lol!

really getting confused on whether to breast or bottle feed

sparklycheerymummy · 06/12/2009 22:13

madmissy...... why you feeling like that about feeding..... i ask because i am quite stressed about it. I would love to breast feed but am very very body conscious and cant decide whether it will help with my PND or make it worse...... ultimately i know that whats best for baby is to have a happy stable and healthy Mummy but once or twice on mumsnet (not this thread) i have been slated for even daring to consider not breastfeeding!

madmissy · 06/12/2009 22:23

well funnily same reasons as you!

i not long ago came off AD's and i am desperate for my body back

but feel guilty if i don't feed

dd1 fed her for 6 months and then i was desperate to stop

dd2 fed her once felt bad about it but formula worked well for us....

and this time i want to avoid any unhappy feelings etc

i have my mental health community nurse keeping tabs on me (sounds awful doesn't it ) but shes been superb and is keeping close eye on me when DS is born etc so i have loads of support....

hmmm help!

Catz · 06/12/2009 22:26

Hi all, Well baby has given us the lovely last (but it's supposed to be the last - are you listening baby!) weekend for the 3 of us together. We've done lots - taken DD to miniature railway, out for lunch, bought Christmas tree, gone swimming (well I watched), been to local children's farm and children's carol service where she got to dress as an angel. Completely knackered now! Only dodgy bit was when we went to garden centre to get some decorations and lots of old people kept elbowing me in the bump and shoving past me in their eagerness to get to the poinsettias... started having serious BHs and had to leave... old people nowadays, no thought for others!

Just hoping baby keeps the other part of the plan which is to arrive whilst DD is at nursery tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm thinking that if things kick off mid-morning tomorrow, I can have him mid-afternoon and be all cleaned up and ready for DH to collect her from nursery and bring her to hospital... (Catz conveniently forgets the 2 day marathon that was last time)... I don't think that's an unreasonable request! Unfortunately nothing more than the odd BH yet and a show a few days ago.

Madmissy - do you need to decide about the feeding method now? Would it be possible to give bf a try and see how things go or do you feel that you need to have a settled plan in advance?

GS - isn't the recommended weight gain about 2 stone (depending on height and weight etc obviously) surely you're doing brilliantly. Anyway you'll lose about half of that in the birth itself

I see there are now 7 of us at 40+ weeks - hopefully some of us will get moving soon (prods baby meaningfully)!

Catz · 06/12/2009 22:29

sorry madmissy cross-posted on the feeding question. Hope you and Sparkly both make the right decision that works for you and your families. Hoping to bf again this time as it went well with DD but only after a tough first couple of weeks.

mwncigirl · 06/12/2009 22:30

just catching up with the thread....... do what you feel comfortable with and what feels right for YOU. If BF doesn't work or feel right don't do it! It doesn't make you a bad person or a bad mum

mwncigirl · 06/12/2009 22:32

I just cross posted too!!! This is complicated......

GoldenSnitch · 06/12/2009 22:37

I haven't dared weigh myself! I know I've put on less than with DS but I have no idea how much. I'm hoping DD will be so beautiful she'll distract people enough from my mummy tummy

I'm sure LaDiDaDi - and everyone else - will be fine too.

Very of all those people who "pop back" into shape. I am not one of those people

Really uncomfy tonight. My hips are really sore still (have been for a few days now) but tonight they feel like they're being pulled out sideways too!!

It's a really strange sensation!

Catz · 06/12/2009 22:49

Sorry GS I meant to say ladidadi - clearly pg brain getting to me! Have just put the clary sage in the oil burner so off to think labour inducing thoughts... goodnight all.

LaDiDaDi · 06/12/2009 22:53

Thanks ladies, tucking in to some toast now .

Hope to hear of a new arrival in the morning!

Catz · 07/12/2009 05:15

Just a warning on the clary sage - I put the oil burner on when I posted above for about 30 mins. Went to bed and my waters gave a pop at 12:45. Completely gone just now. Been having contractions all night but nothing awful yet... just enough to stop me sleeping! To top it all DD has been up and sick twice in the night having not been sick for at least a year (sigh). Mum on the way now and hospital want me to go in to be checked over so hopefully I will have news soonish...

BexJ78 · 07/12/2009 07:14

Hi Catz
oh hope it is all good news....Fingers crossed for you!

Just been to drop DH off at station for early train and should really go back to bed, but thought i would just see if there was any news from anyone! no news here, no BH, no nothing...might invest in the clary sage burner based on Catz's post above!!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/12/2009 07:49

Hope everything goes well for you Catz. Either the clary sage or the jam packed eventful weekend that you had!!

As for getting elbowed out the way, I can beat that, we went into Argos on Sunday to get a new iron and an exercise ball for me and as I was making my way to where all the chairs are I noticed there was only 2 left and 2 women were headed towards them so I kind of increased the speed of my waddle and managed to sit down, when the women got there a second later one of them said "ohh I will just stand then shall I?" To which I just grinned at her and said "Ive got 5 days till I give birth, will gladly swap.."
Cant believe the cheek of some people.

GoldenSnitch · 07/12/2009 08:07

Ooh, good luck Catz!

I found the mostly empty bottle of Clary Sage bath oil I bought when I had DS yesterday and considered using it. The other 90% of the bottle did nothing last time so I doubt it would have done anything but you never know!!

Consultant appointment today at 2.30. Really hoping I get someone nice who can set my mind at rest and give me a good date for a c-section.
