Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
madmissy · 07/12/2009 08:29

some people are so rude makes me so angry

had rubbish night sleep, just laid there til 1.30am so now im super tired and feel bit sick.
i had a popping sound- was really loud! felt a bit wet but nothing since so i was just kind of laying there feeling very odd

clary sage did feck all for me too lol other than give you a few braxtons think being overdue thats enough to kick start something

hope that things are going well for catz now

ABF what time is your sweep today?

snitch hope i get a date for induction if sweep doesnt work

with regards to feeding i think i have chosen bottle tbh but then i feel guilty i just don't feel like i can cope with the constant feeding and the time it takes with running around after dd1 and dd2

got funeral tomorrow have feeling something will happen when im there.. lol

ViktoriaMac · 07/12/2009 08:52

Good luck to everyone with appointments today and to Catz!
ABF, I totally feel you, people are so bloody awful. I had a bloke signal to me on the tube that he was giving me his seat, but some woman ducked in there before I could get through. She went very very red when he said "that's not for you, it's for this lady, she's pregnant!" Have had loads of people clearly clocking my bump, then still deciding to step in front of me. It's always people over 40 as well, young people who get the bad press are usually very helpful and polite.

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 07/12/2009 08:59

Totally agree about people being rude - I don't know why but this time round it seems totally different to first time, when I felt everyone was as happy as me and treated me really nicely. This time I'm lucky if I can get round the supermarket without at least 3 incidents of being barged.Grrr

I have 8 days left til my elec CS which I really don't want now, but if I don't have it then I might go over and still end up with a CS, and be in hospital over Christmas, which I def don't want as DS is so excited this year and knows exactly what's going on. I can't miss that.

Might get some clary sage oil today although did bugger all for me last time too.

NOTHING IS WORKING! and I've had loads of contractions, at least 3 'episodes' where I thought something was starting only to stop hours later again. It is so infuriating.

Re the breast/bottle feed debate - last time I managed about 2 weeks of actual breast feeding, and another 6 weeks of expressing, and it made me miserable as hell. If it's the same this time I will not feel guilty at all for reaching for the formula. It made me and DS happier last time. I know breast feeding is 'best' but if it just makes you feel depressed and the baby isn't benefiting either then it seems to me that it clearly isn't the best for everyone. My HV who visited last week said that they have changed their focus from pushing breast feeding at all costs to working with mums to help and support them with their choices, whatever they are.

waitingwaiting · 07/12/2009 09:11

Hi guys....
I'm due 22nd Dec and thought I'd come and join you all.... could do with a bit of support now, as I'm struggling with these last few weeks!! I feel sooooooooo big and uncomfortable its awful... will take time to read your postings later today, nice to know that others are in the same boat!!......
x

BexJ78 · 07/12/2009 09:12

Yes, you are all so right about people being rude. When i went to the docs on Friday there were people booking in with both receptionists so I stood back to wait until one of them was free. then a middle aged lady came in, walked past me and then went to the next available receptionist! It is not as if she could miss me, I am bloody huge!!!
I so wish I could be bothered to say something, but just too easy to grit teeth and then be pissed off!

Rachiesparrow · 07/12/2009 09:16

Hello!
I'm due a week Tuesday (the 15th) and NOTHING seems to be happening. Not sure whether to be frustrated or relieved.

Also, I'm hoping that this is normal, but I'm getting so apprehensive about what happens when the baby is here. I wonder whether we are really ready for it. Bit late to be worrying, but that doesn't stop me.

Anyone else?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/12/2009 09:23

Madmissy ~I dont have a sweep booked you must have me confused with someone else, sparkly maybe?
Wish I bloody was having one though!!!

Im sick of BH.
Im sick of shows that dont amount to anything.
Im sick of being so fat. I have huge empathy for the whale when it gets beached when im reading DS The snail and the Whale.
I feel like running up and down the stairs (3 flights lol) a few times to see if that would work.

I dont know why im so impatient, its not like im overdue I think its probably the nerve pain getting to me more than anything.

I also had that popping feeling the other day. I actually went "ooooh" but nothin has happened.

Good luck today Snitch.
Welcome waitingwaiting!

madmissy · 07/12/2009 09:29

oh must be sparkly!?
welcome over waitingwaiting and rachie!

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/12/2009 09:33

Hi Rachiesparrow

I'm due on the 15th as well and not a lot of sign of anything happening here either . Its totally normal to be apprehensive about the baby being here (is it your first ?). I remember getting home from hospital with dd and me and dh just looked at each other and said "what the hell are we supposed to do with her now ?!". She's 2.7 and has survived, so we obviously did ok

Its not the waiting I hate so much, its just the not knowing when its going to happen. Its the first xmas dd has really known what's going on and there are so many xmas trips, concerts, parties etc. coming up and I just can't commit to anything. If someone were to tell me I would give birth on, say, the 19th - even though it meant I would go over, I'd just be happy to be able to plan around it iyswim ? I'm just a bit of a control freak

Rachiesparrow · 07/12/2009 09:43

Hi Tillyscoutsmum - Yes, it's my first... eep.

I know what you mean about planning/control freakery - if I could just have a clue when, then I'd feel so much more relaxed about it all. I just keep thinking 'oh god, I bet she comes at Christmas' and not knowing is killing me.

Think I just need to chill out and hope for the best! I'm so fed up of being pregnant though.

LaDiDaDi · 07/12/2009 11:09

Hello everyone, welcome to the new arrivals to the thread! We need some new babies though, hope that we hear from Catz soon .

I've written out Christmas cards from LaDi, dp, dd and baby! Finished wrapping presents apart from mil's Jo Malone stuff who still hasn't arrived and I need something else for fil, wine or chocs probably. Feeling really restless today.

madmissy · 07/12/2009 11:20

Just sat and sobbed in midwife appt. Really starting to struggle and so don't want to go back on anti depressants hope consultant goes ok later and she gives me a date. Feeling pants. Sorry for moaning!

I think moosy had her baby..... Saw briefly on another thread. A girl i'm sure....

BlueChampagne · 07/12/2009 11:30

Baby Blue 2 (DS2 7lb 12oz) landed yesterday morning - 3 hours from first twinges (5am) to unattended delivery on the bathroom floor! DH on 999 call and ambulance arrived about 10 min later. All well - grandparents now in attendance too now.

Glad it didn't happen that way with DS1, and not exactly the birth plan I'd drawn up, but I did say I wanted it quicker and not too close to Christmas, so not complaining!

LaDiDaDi · 07/12/2009 11:48

Congrats BlueChampagne!

That sounds very dramatic!
Has he got a name yet?

Hope that we hear from moosy and Catz today.

damnitdamnit · 07/12/2009 11:49

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 07/12/2009 12:56

Blimey BlueChampagne! How exciting and scary for you!!! xxx

Moosy · 07/12/2009 13:12

Wow Blue, bet that was a shock! DH was worried that would happen to us too, but the MWs did get there in plenty of time.

DD3 arrived at 7.40am after a short labour. It was harder work than I remembered it being and she took quite a lot of pushing to get out (25 mins). She weighed 8lb 2oz and is called Felicity (middle name to follow when we think of one!)

Congrats Moosy!

I am so jealous now x

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 07/12/2009 14:42

Hi Sillynoodle - was just going to add you to the list but let us know what number child you're up to and ages of others, and any idea on the sex etc?

x

ViktoriaMac · 07/12/2009 14:57

Yay! Two more babies! Congratulations Moosy and Blue. Blue - that is a birth story your child will love telling in the future!

Welcome to the new people.

I am due 18th and am sick of people (professionals too) implying that I should want to deliver early. Obviously I am uncomfortable, but baby will come when ready surely? I do not midwife saying "oohh yes, you could do with going into labour now." Errrmm not really, I can wait if baby wants to. But I agree if we knew a certain date it would be much better!

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 07/12/2009 15:14

ViktoriaMac, I expect they're only saying it because of Christmas being 1 week after your DD. Most people would want to be out of hospital by Christmas, but I know it's annoying to keep having the pressure piled on. As it's a 1st baby I think the odds are on that it'll be a bit late anyway. Mine was 11 days late after everybody had told me I would be 'early because the bump was so low' but you are right, they come when they are ready.

LaDiDaDi · 07/12/2009 16:11

Congratulations moosy, love the name Felicity.

Dd and I have been in grumpy moods this afternoon, not sure why dd has, she seems a bit tired. My mother keeps irritating me, I know that she's unhappy that she's not seeing dd as much as usual now I'm on mat. leave (she usually looks after her when I work and dd's not at nursery) but I can't help it and I obv. want to spend as much time with dd as possible until the new arrival comes.

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/12/2009 16:26

Congrats Moosy and Blue. Your dh must have been petrified Blue
