BexJ78 · 04/12/2009 21:54

Hey peumahue, welcome! i am a first timer too. Due tomorrow but nothing happening so far. Hope you are feeling ok. I still find all(the whole having a baby/becoming a parent) all a bit surreal at the mo...sure that will all change very soon!

Goldensnitch, can you ring the hosp or your MW to get some clarification on the stats from your scan? perhaps if you ring the hosp and tell them how concerned you are they might be able to help??

Milliemuffin · 04/12/2009 22:33

Bump02, I kinda know how u feel. Dp is still smoking roll ups and the last few times I've gone to bed as I don't want to be near him and I was quite blunt the other day, if he smokes whilst I'm putting ds to bed then I'll go to bed aswell so what does he do tonight? Ignores every word and still goes out in the garden so what does he expect. Quite fancied watching some tele together but he blew it and even though he says he's not addicted he also says he can't just stop. It's one roll up every other night so he doesn't need it that much and if he prefers that to sitting with me then that's his choice. No-one knows he smokes cos he knows what they'll all say. He might not think he's risking baby's health but I'm not taking any chances. It's bad enough he smokes anyway when we have a ds.

LaDiDaDi · 05/12/2009 08:44

Welcome peumahue!

I'm pleased others are being annoyed by their dp's, mine has been a pain in the arse this week.

Let's hope for a happy and productive weekend ladies .

AmazingBouncingFerret · 05/12/2009 10:26

Hi.

No baby.
had a show this morning though.

Cant actually walk anywhere now because the nerve pain is so bad so im stuck to my bed, thank god for laptops and wireless internet.
I was gutted as it was DS's 3rd birthday yesterday and other than taking him to lunch at pizzahut we couldnt do anything else.

sparkly I hope you are having better luck than me and you have your baby out now!

bump02 Im sorry you are feeling so down and other half is being a twunt, hope he is feeling contrite this morning. DH who has actually been really good compared to some on here vowed not to drink once I got to 37 weeks... what did he do last night? 3/4 of a bottle of red wine. Nob.

snitch I also think you oughta phone your midwife and tell her you are panicking over the scan results and see if you can get some further reasurance to put your mind at rest.

Un-MN-like hugs to everyone.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 05/12/2009 10:27

Oh sorry missed you out peumahue Welcome to the thread!!

Moosy · 05/12/2009 10:52

DH did quite a lot of nip twiddling earlier, then about 2 hours later I had a show! Not a big jelly lump, just vast quantities of blood streaked slime Something's happening at last! Trying not to get too excited yet, but DD2 was born about 36 hours after the first show.........

Sorry for all the stupid DH/DPs out there, hopefully they'll realise how much they're needed and be useful soon.

GoldenSnitch · 05/12/2009 10:58

I spoke to her on Thursday. She said that the excess fluid could be caused by the baby not being able to swallow properly or it could be am mistake by the sonographer.

She said she's had 2 ladies recently that had been told that they were having huge babies or had lots of fluid and had had 7lb babies with no excess fluid at birth. This does not necessarily mean they've got me wrong though.

She said the fluid could cause problems at birth because I am more at risk of a prolapse cord and at least this gave me a proper, medical reason to have an ELCS and that they would suction baby's lungs when she was born to check everything was OK. They did this to DS too and he was really wheezy for weeks afterwards. I was so hoping I wouldn't get my baby whisked away again this time!

Other than that, she said to wait for my consultants appointment on Monday and ask about it then.

Monday just seems a long, long way away right now!

Good luck to Sparkly and ABF - hope your babies are here very soon....

And I hope Bumps OH has apologised!

Bump02 · 05/12/2009 16:16

Hi ladies,

Still living with an A-Hole at the moment. Had no apology and he has been skulking around house all day like a child. So I went out shopping Only to come home and he sods off to watch local football team, saying it will be the last chance he gets before next year...ohh boo bloody hoo for him! I have sent him a text message saying that I am trying to take things easy before life gets turned upside down and that the atmosphere in the house is not helping, if he continues to act this way I'll go stay elsewhere, I haven't had a reply but he should be due home around 5.30pm so watch this space. Even ds who is 8 years old is annoyed with him, he has been giving me cuddles which is what he needs too bless him. Children really are a godsend!!!

Milliemuffin I know what you mean about smoking, he was giving up 8 months ago...and I haven't got the energy to fight that one, he does go to the bottom of the garden and then has a rinse of listerine afterwards...which makes him smell like a dentist surgery...Not sure which is worse!! Though have told he can't sleep in bedroom when DD arrives, a few nights on sofe should give him the hint lol

ABF - sending happy vibes your way [wink}

Good luck with babies that are very soon to be new arrivals

madmissy · 05/12/2009 18:59

Grr at all the loser men! Hope they buck ideas up asap.

Snitch what time is consultant monday? I have mine too. Leaving girls at home with grandma though this time! I'd be worried too if I were you... Its natural! BUT if she was very concerned she surely would have got you checked there and then? Please don't panic too much. have you been measuring loads bigger?

Peumahue sorry I missed you there! Any news from you on baby front?

Moosy ooooh sounds good!

ABF likewise on the show! Sorry that pain is no better. its my dd1's birthday tomorrow she's 4. My mum took her to london today and she's staying there tonight. Can't wait to have her back though!
Mad how hard it is with them both but yet I miss them like mad when not here!

Any news from sparkly?

GoldenSnitch · 05/12/2009 21:30

Appointment is at 2.30 Missy. I've been measuring dead on all the way through this pregnancy up until last week at my 36 week appointment where I was 1cm over. Midwife said it was no big deal as they don't worry till you're 2cm over and then the sonographer seemed to think it was quite bad!

Just want her out now so I can hold her and see she's ok. Feeling really out of control at the moment.

Trying to reassure myself that if it were something really seriously, physically wrong, I would have been measuring over all through this pregnancy, not just starting at 36 weeks.

Hope ABF, Moosy and Sparkly's silence since this morning means that somethings been happening... Wonder if we'll end up with a few babies coming all at once!?

Moosy · 06/12/2009 04:01

I'm up and having some pains, not too horrendous and I haven't rung anybody or woken DH up, just pacing around downstairs to see if it's real. I hope it is!

Moosy · 06/12/2009 04:02

Good luck at your appointment GS, I'm sure all will be fine (not that me saying that will stop you worrying!), let us know how you get on.

madmissy · 06/12/2009 07:27

Think it will turn out fine after all they measure at 20 weeks too... Hugs tho- i'm allowed to say that on a antenatal thread lol

Moosy hope its real and they have your in more pain now! Bang on due dates if so...

GoldenSnitch · 06/12/2009 10:09

Thanks Missy.

Got a much better night sleep last night and am feeling a lot brighter today. Had stabbing pains in my bits last night everytime she moved and wondering if this means she's dropped finally. Don't particularly want to go into labour (DS was stuck for 28 hours in distress before the EMCS and he was only 7.9, if this really is a 9lb baby, there is NO WAY she'll make it out the normal way!) but if it means that all this is over with a bit quicker, I'll take anything!!

Anything congential would have shown up before now right? Maybe I just pushed it too hard at Center Parcs??

Even took advantage of DH finding me sexy while looking like a whale last night to see if that would help!!

LOL at Missy hoping Moosy is in more pain this morning On no other forum would that be considered a nice thing to say!! Fingers crossed for you here too Moosy - Good Luck

Still no word from Sparkly or ABF either... Hoping they're busy adding to the arrivals board

madmissy · 06/12/2009 10:13

was just thinking the same thing! hope that there are some arrivals soon!

glad you got better sleep!

if everything was fine at the 20 week with regards to dd i would not worry much about it tbh and like your m/w said the scans can be sooo misleading. 3 people i know were given estimated birth weights recently of large babies etc and they were all ickle.
scans at this point can be so unreliable.

we only have one more sleep til we see consultants

AmazingBouncingFerret · 06/12/2009 10:20

Hello, sorry no baby. My silence was due to me being at my parents and scarfing down a huge chinese!!
Sparklys silence seems promising though.

GoldenSnitch · 06/12/2009 10:21

Yes, just hoping I get a consultant worth talking to this time!! The last one was rubbish.

Hoping for good news for both of us

maybebaby23 · 06/12/2009 10:28

Thankyou!

Wow look at all the arrivals already! Congrats to you all!

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 06/12/2009 10:34

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better this morning. I'd a crap night - didn't manage to get a wink of sleep thanks to DD's teething and DP's snoring

Have been feeling very niggly today - what do BH feel like? Didn't have anyhting with DD until my waters broke and even then I ended up being induced?

Snitch - I don't hold much faith with the estimated weights. I was told DD would be at least 10lb if not more and at 40+4 she was born weighing in at a whopping 6lb 11

GoldenSnitch · 06/12/2009 10:46

Thanks LittleMonkey - More people seem to be saying they got it wrong than right and it is helping me feel a little better.

Still won't be taking any Tiny Baby clothes to the hospital though

sparklycheerymummy · 06/12/2009 12:19

Am sulking here....... loads of false starts but nothing. Am avoiding anything that might involve the dreaded question....... have you had that baby yet...... 9 days over tomorrow and am back at hospital for another sweep...... not looking forward to that.

GoldenSnitch · 06/12/2009 13:17

Oh Sparkly!

Hope things get going for you soon.

The sweep might not be so uncomfortable this time if your cervix is a little more ripe.

1petshortofazoo · 06/12/2009 13:27

Had my works xmas do lastnight.... bowling of all things... but it was good, I even managed to win a prize for the highest scoring girl haha. They said I cheated as the baby gave me extra momentum....

I've been getting some right weired pains in my lady parts that I can only describe as like a knitting needle being poked up there. really takes my breath away and I have to sit down right away. its been happening for a few weeks but its really bad today....
Anyone else had this??
