biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 03/12/2009 21:42

Have drummed into DH that a decent bottle of champagne is all I want once these baby comes out Have never demanded anything before so he knows it's important.

Trying to decide wether to buy in some nice smelly/runny/blue cheese for Christmas. You know the stuff you can't eat when pregnant. It'll be what I'll be feasting on once baby is out. Hmmm and how long does smoked salmon keep for?

GoldenSnitch · 03/12/2009 22:51

The good thing about Christmas parties full of Mum's is that they don't go on for too long so I'm home already

Truely feel like my sides are tearing though! I can feel horrible ripping sensations down my sides and across my tummy!! Going to have some horrible stretch marks this time

Ready for bed now. MIL has offered to drop DS off "some time tomorrow afternoon" so it looks like I have the morning to myself. Lie in, bra shopping and some cleaning in order I think. It'll be the first day off I've had this pregnancy so I'd better make the most of it!

Good luck for all those who've been getting twinges. We need some more arrivals soon

madmissy · 04/12/2009 07:47

snitch glad you had a good night! enjoy your day off today!

biscuits why salmon? you can have that now!

ABF wondering how you are!?

sparkly likewise!!

sparklycheerymummy · 04/12/2009 09:06

nothing yet..... lots of fake contractions and then a big fat nothing..... except my dd being up Twice in night.....sleepwalking and crying in her sleep then claiming to have a headache... maybe she is brewing something or maybe just responding to the atmosphere around her!!!!! also my dps snoring is getting me down again.... yes he has been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea but his snoring is still a huge problem...... he stormed out at 2am leaving me in tears.... was crying cos i couldnt sleep and am scared to wake him or nudge him in case he gets cross..... he must have heard me and told me i was a f*ing joke and pathetic and stormed off. He also told me i was miserable and always had been and when i said go find someone else then he responded with...... who says i havent already!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrr ,my xp had affairs while i was pregnant with dd so this was particularly nasty!!!

sparklycheerymummy · 04/12/2009 09:12

But I am aware these times are stressful for them too....... but he doesnt even ask me how i am feeling or if i am having any twinges.....oh i am soooooooooo touchy an tearful. Have out a friend of coming round as i just cant face anyone!!!!

GoldenSnitch · 04/12/2009 09:33

Oh Sparkly, that's so horrible of him!! What a twunt!! The "who says I haven't already" is particularly mean given your history!

So sorry you're having a hard time sleeping. It's hard enough sleeping when this pregnant as it is but with waking children and snoring partners it must be next to impossible. It's not even as if you can get off to sleep before he starts snoring as you'll be up in the night to pee and turn over!

Is there somewhere else he could sleep for a week or two until baby arrives - I think you should stay in the bed as you need to be comfortable. Can you nap during the day at all?

We're all here if you want to chat but can't get out.

ViktoriaMac · 04/12/2009 09:34

Oh Sparkly, Phone the friend and rearrange, tell them you were just feeling pregnant and hormonal, you need to see friends and have a laugh. I've not been in the best of moods the last couple of weeks and have been having huge trouble sleeping. I try to look at the lack of sleep as my body preparing me for the sleepless nights to come.
Yes, it is stressful for your DP, but his main job in these last few days is to support you.

sparklycheerymummy · 04/12/2009 09:45

thanks guys..... am still in my huge fat persons pj and have electric blanket on so i hope my waters dont go. i do feel hurt by him and he has admitted he is moody and bad tempered at moment but i cant lean on him and i need to. Am worried all this waiting will set my PND off. The friend who wants to see me is one of those ones who has come out of the woodwork now baby is due but wasnt there through my months and months of sickness so dont feel like painting a smile on my face for her i am afraid. I dont think dp is having an affair though he is very well thought of by lots of women and has women friends but if he was i would be devastated as it has happened before. i cant even retaliate with..... well maybe i am too cos i am huge, uncomfy and cant drive now so cant get anywhere!!!!! He can sleep downstairs but i end up feeling bad and his theory is .... if you i am awake first it should be me to move then at least one of us sleeps. Come on baby time to come out then quite frankly dp can sod off!!!! (Dont really mean that)

sparklycheerymummy · 04/12/2009 09:47

Oh and to cap it off i have piles due to the constipation...... sorry if tmi!!!!

LaDiDaDi · 04/12/2009 11:31

Sorry you are having such a rough time sparkly.

I've managed to get a present for my mum, just have to take back the one that I bought yesterday and wasn't happy with. Still need stuff for the old people though... and MIL's present needs to arrive. Also managed to get presents for January and February birthdays for people so feeling quite pleased about that.

Really tired legs from marching around town for 2 hours!

Going to get dd from nursery soon and then think of an activity for this afternoon.

JumpingJellyfish · 04/12/2009 12:01

Hi ladies

I was on your list from a long time ago but have hardly had a chance to be online....

Anyhow wanted to update our stats- our DD2 arrived on 20th November, weighing in at 5lb 9.5oz. She was delivered by c-section 3 weeks early due to very high BP and mild pre-eclampsia - had been admitted for a week beforehand while they tried to buy us a bit more time. Thankfully she's done really well and avoided SCBU, breastfeeding well and an absolute joy. Her big brother and sister are besotted too! Unfortunately my BP is still pretty bad so just back out from hospital after being readmitted (thankfully DD2 with me), hoping now things are stable and we can get on with the happy chaos of being a family of 5!

Really hope all you ladies and bumps are keeping well and wish you lots of good luck over the coming weeks xxx

ViktoriaMac · 04/12/2009 12:50

Congratulations Jellyfish, nice that you are eventually home!

BexJ78 · 04/12/2009 13:06

Congrats Jellyfish!

Have been to see MW this morning for 40 wk check. All fine, but am booked in for a sweep a week today if no progress has been made by this time next week. The midwife said to me that the only thing she could recommend to bring labour on was sex...I think the look on my face told her everything she needed to know about my views on that suggestion...

Hope things improve for you sparkly and that baby makes an appearance soon!

LaDiDaDi · 04/12/2009 13:07

Lovely to hear your news Jumping !

Hope you can enjoy everyone being at home together.

What's her name?

LaDiDaDi · 04/12/2009 13:45

Just been trying on my bras from figleaves. can totally recommend the Emma-Jane smooth nursing bra, not sexy as such but I like smooth plain bras for everyday anyway and the fabric is really nice.

I'm sending mine back though (and re-ordering as today there's 20% off, so only 12.80 for each bra!). I'll be paying for postage again, though I'd need to order more anyway as the others I bought are naff, but saving 3.20 x 3 bras makes it worth it.

GoldenSnitch · 04/12/2009 13:49

Just got back from buying my feeding bras. Went to Bravissimo as it was really my only choice thanks to needing a 32GG!!

Got one in white and ordered a black one. I'll see how I go with those and than maybe buy another 1 or 2 later if I need them.

DS is still with MIL so now I have had my very naughty KFC lunch, I suppose I'd better do some cleaning while the coast is clear...

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 04/12/2009 14:24

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear that some of you are feeling a bit blue at the moment and congratulations Jellyfish.

Just back from the midwife for my 36 week checkup so everything seems to be fine (even though a feel absolutely knackered and am beginning to resemble a whale )

Am seriously struggling to get nursing bras in my size (was a J cup before I was pregnant and that is the largest size that Bravissimo go up to) Have looked online but everything larger either costs a fortune or looks like it could be used to support the Forth Road Bridge

Milliemuffin · 04/12/2009 17:51

Hi girls, I had my reflexology last night and it was lovely, I highly recommend it. The lady I saw is specialised in pregnancy/childbirth and she asked my permission to use trigger points that can start labour in as quick as 24-48hrs so I had to say no to those as I'm not 37wks til sunday and we're not allowed a home birth before then. She's fully booked until 20th Dec so if baby hasn't arrived before then (I'll be 39wks) then I have an appt and she'll do the full works. She has a very high successful rate so hopefully I'll have my little family of four in time for christmas, hope so anyway!

Congrats jellyfish!

Sparkly - just wanted to send you a hug, you should meet up with someone, i've got 6 girls plus their 2 years olds all coming round this aft which is going to be manic but will be nice to see everyone.

Milliemuffin · 04/12/2009 18:00

I did try to post that at 2pm but it obviously didnt work. Had the girls round and could now sleep for a week zzzzzzzzzz..........

peumahue · 04/12/2009 18:28

Hello everyone,

I am new to Mumsnet, it was recommended to me by a friend the other day. Just thought I'd add myself to this list as I was actually due on November 27th but as we're now well into December it looks like I'll be with the December babies!

Ummm... this is my first post in an internet forum so not really sure what to write... It's my first baby, don't know if it's a boy or a girl, feeling nervous, booked in for induction next Wednesday if nothing happens before then (hoping it does!). Live in London with my lovely husband and two equally lovely cats.

Anyway I'm sure I'll be glued to Mumsnet in the weeks to come so just wanted to introduce myself! waves

madmissy · 04/12/2009 18:46

oh i need someone to do my points!

congrats jumping!

Catz · 04/12/2009 19:19

Congratulations Jumping and welcome Peumahue. I've added you both below - hope it works and is right.

It's my due date today. Had a show last night and this morning but nothing really more than that. Saw the mw today and she says head very low 4/5ths+ engaged. She offered me a sweep but I chickened out. For all the 'hope it happens soon' and raspberry leaf tea drinking, I'm not sure I actually want to go into labour right now. Hoping to have a nice last weekend for the 3 of us then go into labour on Monday whilst DD at nursery... remind me of that when I'm being induced in 2 weeks!

haha famous last words catz!!

GoldenSnitch · 04/12/2009 20:41

Congratulations Jumping.

Welcome Peumahue.

Good luck Catz.

Desperate to start the pineapple/raspberry leaf/sex today as I am 37 weeks by my LMP dates...but, I'm not 37 weeks by scan dates till Sunday and worried that if it does work, DD will be too early and I'll have made her poorly.

The skin on my bump feels like it's tearing and it's really painful, my hips hurt and I keep getting stabbing pains in my bits.

Those weird measurements from the scan on Wednesday are playing in my mind too. Head was a normal size, femur was tiny (below 25th percentile) and her abdominal measurement was huge - more like that expected for a 39+ week baby. And then theres all that fluid! I really wanted that scan to make me feel better but I'm just a million times more worried now that there is something wrong.

I want to believe friends and even my midwife who tell me that the sonographers make mistakes all the time but it doesn't seem to help - what if they've got it right this time?

I want her out so I can see her and hold her and know she's OK but she needs to stay in to have the best chance. I'm so confused.

Bump02 · 04/12/2009 21:44

Help I'm crying and can't stop myself!!

I don't mean to go on and know other ladies are feeling just as shite but my usually great partner is being so out of order tonight. I won't go into too many details (he was later home than he said he would be and has the arse with me because I wasn't all singing all dancing when he came in, plus he ruined dinner and ds ate alone) I just wanted to tell somebody as I am just being ignored and now he has just gone of too bed leaving me sitting here crying my eyes out. I feel like I don't want him to be with me when I go into labour/give birth. Arrrggghhhh why do they turn into bastards when you need them the most. I feel so let down as I know he's been drinking and I am having pains tonight, prob due to stress now, but he will need to drive me to hosp and I don't trust him. Now I'm still crying and hating him more and more.

Sorry if bored anyone reading this I just had to share
