LOL!!!

Milliemuffin · 02/12/2009 18:25

Did some of u mention upset stomach recently? Been feeling rough all day yest and today :-(

madmissy · 02/12/2009 19:43

yup that would have been me nothing been staying put so to speak but we have all had colds/cough so was kind of putting it down to that rather than body preparing...

wonder how sparklys doing?!

Catz · 02/12/2009 20:04

Hope you are OK Stig.

Milliemuffin - I had an upset tummy about 2 weeks ago and really thought it might be the start of things but then DH got it and as he's not expecting to go into labour soon I had my hopes dashed!

Baby is taking up so much room now it's getting really painful when he moves. He's making loads of big movements tonight and I'm finding it really difficult to tell the difference between braxton hicks and kicks because everything goes so stretched and hard when he moves. Seriously don't think there will be any more room for him if he doesn't come out soon!

Shimmer · 02/12/2009 23:24

Catz, I feel exactly the same! There is literally no more space in there! I'm sure there's no way I can expand another millimeter. Also sometimes wondering whether feelings are BH or just wriggles.

Ferret, LOL! I know the feeling. Hope you got your takeaway in the end though!

How are you doing Stig?

Got my 38wk appointment tomorrow, which i'm kind of looking forward to. I haven't seen mw for about 2 and a half weeks for some reason so feel it's about time to check in with LO.

Bump02 · 03/12/2009 09:45

Hi ladies I posted a few days ago about having a show, backahce and upset tummy which I thought was things starting, but NOTHING!! Nothing is happening, I've been out and about staying active, although I feel like I have a bowling ball wedged on top of my bladder, I can't cross my legs or sit down to eat, I had to rest on my knees to eat the other night and I am walking like I've been horse riding lol Baby is trying out some new yoga moves inside and she must be getting quite annoyed being wedged in there too. Have friends that are popping their babies out and getting about it. I just hope she comes before Christmas because everyone is wanting her for their present.

sparklycheerymummy · 03/12/2009 09:59

had my sweep yeaterday and lots of twinges and aches but nothing that resemble labour....... have to say ladies the sweep was BLOODY PAINFUL. I nearly passed out and have been bleeding slightly since. fingers crossed i didnt go through that for nothing.....

Bump02 · 03/12/2009 10:10

Oh sparkly that sounds awful, hope you feel better soon and you certainly didn't go through it for nothing Good luck!!

GoldenSnitch · 03/12/2009 10:22

I had a sweep in hospital when having DS that made me scream!

It did nothing for me but I hope it works for you Sparkly

Just spoke to my midwife who says that this increased fluid gives me more of a reason to have an ELCS than I had before because the fluid can cause issues with a normal birth and a section would now be the safer option for baby so hopefully, I won't have quite as much arguing to do on Monday as I might have had.

Just got to get a good date now....

sparklycheerymummy · 03/12/2009 10:25

i havent really had anything yet but midwife said she would be very surprised if it didnt set me off. just want my baby now and dd is picking up on the change in atmosphere and the impatience in the house. I hope you get the date u want snitch xxx Can we keep talking ladies am going out of my mind!!!

Scorps · 03/12/2009 10:38

Hope you get the date you want GS

I have only had one sweep, on a Wednesday afternoon and Mimi was born Friday 7.20pm. It didn't hurt but i was over 40 weeks and already 3cm due to baby's weight and the fact i had 2 VB previous.

22 days till EDD for me - keep thinking that i could only have this weekend and next weekend left and thats it! Hard to know because i have had mine at 39+3, 39+1 (the +1 was actually only 3 hours) and 41 weeks! So no telling here really.

Am almost very ready for HB now, just have to buy a taurpaulin this weekend to protect my (beige!)carpet

ABF - you are not alone with the moody thing. And i never ring takeaways, i can't undertsnad their accents very well and get embarrased asking them to repeat

OP posts:
sparklycheerymummy · 03/12/2009 10:40

i am the same ABF. always make dp do it!!!

GoldenSnitch · 03/12/2009 10:50

I'm around Sparkly. Not always at the PC cause I'm nesting but I'm home all day and can keep the computer on if you want to chat...

Scorps · 03/12/2009 10:59

I'm about a bit too

Baby is going nuts, may have something to do with the fact i have had caffeinated coffee

OP posts:
sparklycheerymummy · 03/12/2009 11:03

ooohhhhh scorps me too...... thought if i got baby a bit high it might burst out....... first cup of coffee i have had as i hated the smell before now...... have had scrambled eggs, mushrooms and 10 custard creams already. About to have a bath cos i am so so so bored. (Cant believe I am saying that!!!) Fell out with dp temporarily as he wont have sex now...... says it feels wrong!!!! Obviously since sweep have been bleeding a bit but he has never refused before!!!! grrrrrrr

sparklycheerymummy · 03/12/2009 11:41

Just had another show....... wonder if the hula hooping on wii fit helped, or the caffeine or the clarysage oil i have in the bath....... oh i hope something happens soon....... sorry to moan and go on guys but going past due date is sooooo frustrating.

GoldenSnitch · 03/12/2009 11:56

Sounds promising Sparkly.

DS was 6 days over and I remember being desperate to get him out!

Maybe try a short walk? A really cold drink? They used to get me to do that when DS would stop moving as it makes them wriggle. Pineapple?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 03/12/2009 12:38

Hello ladies.
I got my takeaway, washed it down with a carton of pineapple juice. Im now paying for it. Woke up feeling odd. Am now getting contraction like pains every 35 minutes that last an average of 10 minutes. But im telling myself they are BH and refusing to think its labour.
Phoned DH, he is now panicking because apparantly im all calm and I only get all calm if something big is happening!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 03/12/2009 12:38

Sparkly I hope things happen soon for you.

madmissy · 03/12/2009 12:40

hi guys
just back from meeting friends im soooo tired was up all night bloomin coughing

well sat here with my raspberry leaf tea (as if it does anything! pah)

can't say i found sweeps i have had painful- uncomfy but not painful- it must be true i am loose

sparkly another show is good! things are happening just not as quick as you we would like lol

Stigaloid · 03/12/2009 12:54

Sparkly - hope things happen for you.

Hospital visit was fine. As suspected not in labour and nothing to worry about on the spotting front. Am relieved - have so much to do still in next 2 weeks so don't want baby early anymore - although am tired of being achy and knackered and preggers.

AmazingBouncingFerret - sounds exciting! Keep us posted!

sparklycheerymummy · 03/12/2009 13:18

feel better now something appears to be happening. popping over the road to the shop for pineapple and something yummy for lunch...... my local shop is literally 21 minute away i am sooooooo lucky!!! It also stocks all the basic essential baby bits (nappies, wipes, infacol etc)so hopefully will never get stuck!!!
My sweep was horrendous ....... i just went mega hot and red but then as madmissy said..... not so for everyone some say just uncomfy! My bits werent sewn up right last time so i doubt very much i am nice and tight down there!!! LOL

madmissy · 03/12/2009 13:29

ouch that may not have helped!
any twinges?

covycrump · 03/12/2009 13:30

Oh my, the idea of a sweep is horrifying me now! Please please baby crumpet, don't go over. I haven't made my 41 week appointment yet; am quite tempted not to now. I wonder what the longest anyone's ever carried a baby for is, without interventions?

Good luck Sparkly. Hopefully it's not going to take too much longer to really get going.
