Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GoldenSnitch · 01/12/2009 21:50

Thanks Bex.

If it helps my PIL booked a New Years trip to Prague after we'd announced the pregnancy and the EDD knowing full well they might miss the birth of thier last grandchild.

Seems babies are just boring when you're on your 7th Grandchild - poor DD

BexJ78 · 01/12/2009 21:56

oh well, at least it's not just me!!

Anyway, good luck tomorrow, hope it is good news!

GoldenSnitch · 01/12/2009 22:02

Thanks. Will let you know...

ViktoriaMac · 01/12/2009 22:34

Good luck Goldensnitch, hope all goes well.
With being due on 18th we asked both sets of grandparents if they wanted to come to our town for xmas lunch, with the plan being we could go out for a meal (whether baby is here or not). That way we wouldn't be favouring one set of GPs over the other, everyone has the chance to see new DS on xmas day, they all travel an hour each and we don't have to worry about cooking or travelling. My parents said yes straightaway, PILs said "Oh yes, but can we do it a different day?" Errm, no, we will not all be moving xmas lunch to another day for you, esp when you don't want to spend xmas day with your DGS. Weird.

madmissy · 02/12/2009 08:34

i have no contact with my dad since few months ago.
he's selfish and i have finally figured he will never change so thats it really

my mum and PIL's on other hand are SUPER

feel really crampy today

snitch what time is scan? thinking of you today! just remember how much mine was mucked up and all that worry for nothing! big hugs x

ViktoriaMac · 02/12/2009 08:42

Full moon tonight. Will it mean more babies today???

GoldenSnitch · 02/12/2009 08:51

Scan is at 2.45 at the hospital. I remember the nightmare with yours! You went from a grade 4 placenta previa to totally out of the way in a couple days didn't you?

Amazes me how they could have gotten it so completely wrong!! Glad everything is OK now for you.

We're almost there

madmissy · 02/12/2009 08:54

yeah madness the hospital gave two opinions as it was nothing like the scan pic i showed them. they reckoned that the scan (private) should have got me to empty bladder as it pushes things closer than they are

oooh full moon! feel period pain like today but doubt it means anything lol

wonder if sparkly will have any luck though!?

GoldenSnitch · 02/12/2009 09:02

I have been wondering whether I should do the whole full bladder thing for this one...

Surely everything's high enough now to be able to see without?

The letter does have the whole "please drink half a litre of water or squash 1 hour before the appointment and do not empty your bladder before the scan" bit but they've put that on every scan letter I've had and I think at this point, that may be physically impossible too!!

Catz · 02/12/2009 09:07

Good luck Goldensnitch, hope all has moved out of the way and you don't have to stay in. DD is being a complete limpet at the moment and screaming at DH (who is always very hands on) whenever he tries to do anything for her. Dreading how she'll cope if I have to be in hosp at all.

Have also been wondering about the full moon thing. TBH I very much doubt there is anything in it but I'm happy to clutch at any straws at the moment!

madmissy · 02/12/2009 09:08

snitch think thats just the standard that they send out on all letters. i know they don't like bladder full as it gives false results etc

Stigaloid · 02/12/2009 09:13

Snitch - i had a scan and emptied my bladder and then had to drink and wait again - if you have placenta previa they need to see the opening of the cervix, which is way down low and need the extra fluid to see better to ensure placenta is our of the way. In the end i had to have a trans-vag scan to make sure mine had moved.

madmissy · 02/12/2009 09:16

opposite to me then, i was also being scanned for placenta previa

dont make yourself uncomfy by drinking loads you can always drink more when you are there.

but having full bladder is what mucked me about in first place pushes everything closer than they are

GoldenSnitch · 02/12/2009 09:20

Chances are I'll need to pee by the time I get there anyway

Maybe I'll go needing to 'go' and ask when I get there. Can't afford to drink and wait after I get there as MIL is looking after DS between her caring jobs today for me so I have to be back as soon as I can. DH was supposed to be taking the day off but he'd booked his company car in for a service and decided it was too much hassle to change it!!

She will be all squished up in there so there will likely to nothing to see but it still feels weird as he's been there for every other scan.

Not sure what I'll do if they say they're admitting me! I have to pick up DS! It'll be a nightmare. We have friends and relatives who'd have him but he's only used to going to MIL and she works 3 days a week so can only have him Mondays and Fridays.

No point panicing now though - it may never happen - fingers crossed!

LaDiDaDi · 02/12/2009 09:29

Snitch, are you expecting to get a section date sorted today? I've got an appointment too and I should get my date.

Hope we both get some good news.

madmissy · 02/12/2009 09:36

try not to worry yourself hun

do you have a consultant appt after the scan?

sparklycheerymummy · 02/12/2009 09:44

Hope everything goes ok snitch..... have just walked up and down a huge hill to drop dd off at school....... have some twinges as it moves and feel achy but its nothing i am sure. defo pushing for a sweep at midwife...... i cant sleep at all, i am being sick every morning again, I am starting to feel down (which is a big issue for me and my history) and the carpal tunnel syndrome thing in my right arm is excrutiating. Also dd is really unsettled as we keep having to put contingency plans in place for her if something happens! She has a hospital appointment later on too so at least I will be in the right place if something happens! fed up and still avoiding phone...... curtains in house are closed and i am sulking!!!! But then I think about how lucky i am to be expecting and i have to stop being so self absorbed!!!!!!!

madmissy · 02/12/2009 09:45

oh sparkly
whens the midwife?

GoldenSnitch · 02/12/2009 09:46

Got to wait till Monday to see the consultant.

So hope I don't get the condescending idiot I had last time!

Milliemuffin · 02/12/2009 09:51

How early will a MW do a sweep at home? I'm due on 27th but would really like baby out before xmas. Do you think she would? Will be getting some evening primrose oil later but for oral use only!

Good luck with all the scans girls xx

sparklycheerymummy · 02/12/2009 09:52

midwife and 11.25 and am walking there...... well every effort to get this baby out counts!!!

madmissy · 02/12/2009 10:00

i am due the 21st and saw consultant on monday just gone.. was nightmare girls were nightmare i just sat and sobbed... so embarrassing

anywayyy.. i was induced early with dd2 for spd etc so i sat sobbing heart out and asked if they will do same for me this time.

i am booked in for next monday to have stretch and sweep with my consultant and if i'm 'ripe' to book induction

so i am doing everything possible to get ripe lol

i feel like things are definately starting to happen. cramping loads today (don;t feel like i am about to go into labour) and bh are getting stronger etc

so anyway have been doing eve primrose capsules for few weeks now but upped the dose and did the old by the cervix two nights now my cervix feels really soft stretchy and mushy lol so hoping thats good thing!

clary sage in bath and massaged on bump

long walk yesterday

and last two days i seem to be clearing out

anyway millie back to the original Q! i don't think they do it my norm standards but i know hopsitals differ perhaps play it up a bit? ie having loads of pains etc can you just take a look see if anything happen?

madmissy · 02/12/2009 10:03

oooh not long sparkly!

sparklycheerymummy · 02/12/2009 10:05

this may be tmi...... but i tried investigating down there and i cant find my cervix....... must have one!!!!! But i cant feel my fingers cos of carpal tunnel so maybe thats why xx

madmissy · 02/12/2009 10:08
