Hi ladies Thanks for messages, back pain is back, and round front, but doesn't feel very painful, just rather uncomfortable Have had rush to toilet too (won't go into too much detail) I'll keep you posted, but my gut instinct tells me nothing is going to heppen and that it's all inmy imagination

Ooh same date...good luck x

GoldenSnitch · 30/11/2009 16:02

Well, after a marathon, driving all over the city, shopping trip, I think I have finally finished the Christmas shopping. Had one more stop to post the oversea's Christmas cards but DS fell asleep in the car!

Don't want to do any more now. Popped to the loo halfway through my trip to the shopping center and realised that my 'bits' had gone numb!!! They're still like that now. Feels like my pelvis has spread too.

One more trip in for feeding bra's when I can get a babysitter and I'm done with shopping trips.

I think we've decided on a full name now. DD will be Catherine Emily. Initials are CEL which isn't so bad. Is till fancy sneaking Aoife in there just to keep up the tradition of having an Irish name but not sure DH will let me

I know a Jackson. He's a cutie. One friend decided she didn't like it and would be calling him Jack but everyone else seems to be happy calling him Jackson and she's come round now too. It's a lovely name. My sister wanted it but her surname is now Jackson and that would just be silly!

LaDiDaDi · 30/11/2009 16:34

I'm getting increasingly annoyed with family members asking me what our plans are for Xmas day. I'm due on 26th but planning a section, for which I haven't got a date yet. May well not be out of hospital until 24th.

I want to scream at them "I have no idea what we will be doing at any particular time on Xmas Day. We will not be leaving the house though you are welcome to visit us. We do not want to go out for lunch/tea or have to provide food for you if you call around. On Boxing Day we may choose to visit Aunty/PIL but I will not decide now, and probably not until 25th"

Pease, please tell me I'm not being unreasonable. And that I'm not being unreasonable for not wanting my mum to buy dd a twin buggy when we are getting her a new buggy? Felt like we weren't going to be getting her anything that was special if she did that iyswim. She seems pi**ed off with me but I'm just fed up!!!

And breathe and count to 10....

On the plus side dd has been lovely today, we've done painting and craft for 2 hours and now she's singing along to a children's CD . Really enjoying being with her .

BexJ78 · 30/11/2009 16:40

You have my sympathy LaDiDaDi My mum has kept trying to get an answer out of us about christmas, but i have had to keep saying that we'll let her know. It is a pain really, but if i go really overdue it could be 20th by time baby arrives and then if i have any complications like a ECS i might only be out of hosp on xmas eve! They live about 40 mins away from us, so not too far, and would really like to go to see them, but just don't know how it is going to be and with it being my first don't know how well i will cope with it all!!!

LaDiDaDi · 30/11/2009 16:50

Thankyou Bex, it helps to know that I'm not the only one!

madmissy · 30/11/2009 17:09

Got back from my consultant appt, was awful the girls were so naughty by time i got into cons i burst into tears. she was great though

my blood pressure had to be checked twice as it was so high im norm very low

anyway left that i go back next monday for a sweep and hopefully will be booked in for a induction too

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 30/11/2009 17:16

LDiDaDi, exactly the same problem here - except my parents seem to want to stay here over Christmas. I have had to say it's impossible, no way no way no way, and put my foot down, but with my mum I'm never sure if she's got the message. She turned up when I was in labour with DS, drove 3 hours in the middle of the night and virtually pushed my DH out of the way during a contraction - when I'd said DH and I were fine and would ring her as soon as possible AFTER the birth. Grrr.

If she does it this time I am considering a law suit!

How can I be expected to be a hostess over Christmas with a very new baby and a toddler? Not going to happen...

Sorry to hear about your appointment madmissy - kids can always be counted on to play up at the wrong times. Try and do some controlled breathing and bring that blood pressure down xxx

madmissy · 30/11/2009 17:20

yep drove home with music over the girls lol and took deep breaths.
dh was home when i got back so im sat chilling now
roll on bedtime though!

re to xmas... i have 10 coming on xmas day

LaDiDaDi · 30/11/2009 17:26

Now that means that you are mad midmissy!

Sorry hosp. appointment wasn't great but sounds like the consultant was supportive. My next appt is on Weds, hoping it goes well.

madmissy · 30/11/2009 17:31

lol i really am but am hoping that he will arrive soon anyway. i love xmas and i'm not cooking or anything. having it all done for me im just lending my family the house lol

AmazingBouncingFerret · 30/11/2009 17:32

bloody hell madmissy, you really are mad! 10!

Im going to my parents for christmas. It shall be chaos. 9 adults, and the 4 kids, well 3 and a half, baby doesnt really count as she will be small!
Oh and the dog. And most probably, but I hope to god not, my sisters african grey parrot. Last time she brought him he kept flying down to the table whilst we were having lunch (she doesnt believe in keeping him in a cage). Shit that has really depressed me now. I going to be so stressed.

GoldenSnitch · 30/11/2009 17:49

I'm having 5 adults here plus DS (2.7) and newborn DD.

Mum's bringing everything and cooking for us while I chill on the sofa and feed. All I need to do is talk DH through putting the meat on and she'll bring/do the rest - I've bought a chicken to make it easy. None of us like Turkey anyway.

My brother and sister will spend the day playing with DS - he'll love that. Should work out just right as he's getting sick of DD and not being the centre of attention anymore.

Should be fantastic - I hope

madmissy · 30/11/2009 17:56

LaDiDaDi · 30/11/2009 18:10

See GS the thought of having my mum take over my house like that just makes me bristle all over tbh. Not sure if that's more about my mum or me!

Scorps · 30/11/2009 19:07

Just us as always for Xmas, thank god , especially as edd is Xmas day I'm not going anywhere. Dh does all the cooking etc.

Claire236 · 30/11/2009 19:33

ds2 finally arrived on Saturday at 2323. I'd been having contractions since 0400 which faded but I was still getting niggly pains & didn't feel right. dh talked me into going to hospital at lunchtime & by the time we'd seen a dr I was in a lot of pain but only 2 cm dilated. It seemed much more painful than with ds1 & I ended up having an epidural which I'd always sworn I'd never have simply because I couldn't cope with the pain. I now think they're the most amazing things in the world & would highly recommend them. It was great having dh tell me how high the contractions were registering on the monitor & to not feel them. Had problems when it got to the pushing stage as he just wasn't coming out & his heartrate was dropping. mw had me try different positions & we discovered his heartrate was much better with me kneeling. Eventually delivered only for part of the placenta to be missing. A very unpleasant few minutes of the dr looking for the missing part but fortunately he found it. Now home with my gorgeous baby boy who was definitely worth it all but there's still no way I'm doing it again.

Congratulations Claire! Does he have a name other than DS2?

madmissy · 30/11/2009 19:40

Congratulations clare! Finally it happened! X x

AmazingBouncingFerret · 30/11/2009 19:46

Im so pleased for you Claire! I was really feeling for you what with the slow labour.
Congratulations. xx

Catz · 30/11/2009 19:48

Congratulations Claire! Hope you're both well.

DD was suddenly started singing 'happy birthday baby brother' in the car on the way home this evening... would be nice if she were right but that gives him 4 hrs to arrive and as she took about 50 hrs it seems unlikely!

GoldenSnitch · 30/11/2009 19:52

Congratulations Clare. Getting very now as I have about 3 weeks to go.

My walk round the city center this morning has left me feeling like I've got something between my legs though and it's all achey and feeling stretched. Still a bit numb too. Hope this means DD has moved down a bit. At this point attempting labour again seems like an improvement on being pregnant and given my last labour that's saying something!!

Bought some Raspberry leaf tablets today. If my placenta scan on Wednesday shows that it's out of the way then I'll start taking them as soon as I get home.

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 30/11/2009 20:15

Well done Claire, that's great news - try not to think aboutthe placenta bit, that sounds grim, but really interesting to hear about the kneeling.

The rest of you are putting me to shame about being so horrid about my Mum coming, but her and my Dad are not very helpful although they really try to be - just very stressful and I can't cope with that at the best of times.

I'll probably regret it when we're sitting here having a really quiet Christmas Day but... I doubt it.
