Congrats Easyeggs great name!

Laugs I had that feeling when my Mum came up - but it took another 10 days!! Am sure yours will be sooner

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 21/11/2009 21:05

easyeggs i love the name Charlotte and Lottie - well done and glad she is here !

hobnob i can't remember do you know if this one is a boy or a girl? I do love having a girl. She is just the best. She loves trousers, and trains and boy things, but she also adores pink, fairies, princesses, getting 'married', cuddles and kisses, brushing my hair! I am a little apprehensive about having a boy as already having a girl is so great, but that is why i think it is good we are having a boy this time as he would have a tough time as a girl comparing to DD! (oh thats a bad thing to say isn't it? But she is my pfb!)

beepbeep · 21/11/2009 21:08

Hi all
Just read my last post and feel really insensitive now - hadn't had chance to read others before I posted, sorry you're having a rough time Becky and hope it sorts itself out for you. I struggled with the b'feeding with both first 2, both lost a lot of weight and oth went onto bottle after few weeks, felt bad at the time, but at least they have had the best stuff and having a happy mum is much more important than how they are fed. No point having a chubby baby if you can't enjoy them iykwim. I'll keep going as long as I can with Martha but at the end of the day it has to work for both of us.

Hope everyone else who's having a rough time gets through it soon, Martha's been asleep nearly all day so have a feeling i'm going to be up all night, shattered all ready, so off to bed to try and get some sleep before it all starts!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 22/11/2009 09:59

I cannot beleive how quiet it is here!

not a few weeks ago, and I could not keep up if i logged on at 9:55am, now i am the first .

Hope all the late ladies are getting signs and things are moving, especially for hobnob, you must be getting somewhere now? I really hope so as you must be so tired now. katster how are you feeling now?

I woke to...No Signs. Grr. Nothing. Nada. Not a thing. I actually feel less like he is coming than i did last week. And that sort of concerns me ? can't put my finger on it, he is moving around, much less, and gently, but still movements there. and he is still kicking me under the rib, but i just feel less like he is coming out. I would have put a bet on last week i would not make induction on 30th, but now, i would retract that, as I cannot say he won't . But then, i am also aware, as he is my second, he could go 'i am coming. Now' and then make an appearance! My friend had a baby 2 weeks ago and she was in labour for 2.5 hours!

hobnob57 · 22/11/2009 10:41

I know what you mean pav about the sensation of baby just being nowhere near ready, and how that can change in an instant (or last for days....). Fingers crossed he decides he's up for it sooner than 42+3!!

Well the good (?) news is that I now have proper -need-a-TENS-on-max-now- contractions. They slammed into action straight after a bit of nookie from DH last night. I had been hoping he's help things along for days (weeks?) but one of us was more knackered than the other and we have had very different bedtimes recently. Last night, with the prospect of a lie-in, I thought I might be in luck but he rolled over and complained of feeling like he was coming down with something. Cue a hormonal bout of tears and the job was done .

These contractions are still only 10 mins or so apart though. I was awake until 5am wondering whether to stay upright (more effective, more frequent, less sore) or try to sleep. I phoned the MLU and they advised rest, so I've dozed between them until 10am.

I'm hoping that now I'm up they might actually do something now. Weird, but I still don't feel like I'm about to give birth or end up in hospital today, although I'd BETTER be!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 22/11/2009 10:50

Oh hobnob i do hope so! I am booked for induction on 30th, so won't go as long as you i hope!

I will keep my fingers crossed this is it for you and it all speeds up.

longwayaway · 22/11/2009 11:15

Hobnob I hope this is it!!

helips · 22/11/2009 11:36

Good luck hobnob hope this is it now and you have a lovely quick labour!

raggie · 22/11/2009 11:48

Hello everyone - sorry I've been contributing to the quiet on the board but for NO GOOD REASON! With all the fed-up/huge/bored after weeks of mat leave people. Having twinges and braxton hicks and obsessive checks for fluid leaking but.........no. Nothing doing.

Congrats beepbeep! Martha's a fantatsic name and sounds like it is going brilliantly and you're having lots of fun with two DDs!

hobnob longwayaway am hoping this is it for you both! You deserve it.

BBL am thinking of you lots and wishing you better on feeding your DS3. It sounds so difficult but I have to echo the fact that you are clearly and wonderful mum and I so admire you for not giving up!

Hi ginaandthebean pav, katster, claire ninja, skorpion...we'll keep rattling around for a while yet. claire the most awful thing to consider we could be here mid-december.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGHHHH!

ErikaMaye · 22/11/2009 12:18

Keeping my fingers crossed for you all

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 22/11/2009 12:22

check out my dilemna thread DH has been offered a job.

ursigurke · 22/11/2009 12:28

easyeggs, congratulations! Lottie sounds really cute.
hobnob, I really hope this will be your day!
And of course good luck to everybody else still waiting.
I had a rather sleepless night, with too many feeds. And now she sleeps like an angel on daddy's chest!
PILs are still here, easier to deal with than normal and they even leave us time for just us (big surprise) but they are seriously jealous of who gets to hold Paula for longer. MIL had her for the whole morning yesterday and refused to pass her to her granddad. When I wanted to give her to him in the evening, she just took her out of my hands! I couldn't believe it. She then handed her over as he was seriously annoyed and called her an egoist (I agree on that)and kept complaining for the rest of the evening that he got her for much longer (btw, the first two days he didn't even touch her as he had a cold). It's just crazy and I do feel so much for my poor husband who doesn't have any brothers or sisters... and I think we'll need soon a second child otherwise poor Paula will be smothered by her grandparents love.

claired21 · 22/11/2009 13:07

raggie I am so glad to hear from you! Think I would've lost it if there was a birth announcement from you. Sorry! But yes, my mw would normally book inducement at 40+10 but I think I'd push for a 2nd sweep at 40+10 and induction at +14, altho it would possibly be +15 to make it a weekday (not sure if they do it over a weekend here) which would make it... Wait for it... Monday 13th December!!

hobnob sounds like it's your turn next! Good luck!

roomac · 22/11/2009 13:15

good luck hobnob - really good advice to rest, eat too.

Pav if it's any consolation with ds2 I had a twinge at 4.30pm and he arrived at 10.30pm after an established labour of 90mins! I'd spent the day with a friend and had no inkling at all that he was about to put in an appearance.

Olivia continues to be a model baby - virtually no crying, feeding every 4hrs meaning only once in the night and happy to sit looking at the flashing lights on her bouncy chair and be covered in kisses from her big brothers when she's awake. Third time around I know this may not last but am enjoying it while it does

misssese · 22/11/2009 13:19

raggie · 22/11/2009 13:35

Congratulations missese!

Brilliant news and a wonderful name to add to our ever-expanding list!

Don't worry claire - I'm her for the long-haul

claired21 · 22/11/2009 13:58

Congrats Misssese, Pearl is a beautiful name! Hope all went well and I look forward to reading your story! x

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 22/11/2009 14:07

congratulations to Missesse and welcome Pearl! Lovely name!

roomac really, 90 mins? Luckily bag is packed in car, along with bed made up for friend looking after DD, so if it is that quick, we should be ok.

What stage do they want you at hosp again? I can't remember...3 mins apart?

Laugs · 22/11/2009 14:11

missese congratulations and welcome to Pearl. I love the name! Great to hear you had a fantastic birth too - tell us more!

BBL and anyone else with sore boobs, I just saw these Breastfeeding Bliss Gel Pads. They look like they'd be really soothing and are half price (£5) in Sainsbury's at the moment, along with loads of other stuff like half price Lanisoh, breast pads, nappies (not newborn though), wipes etc.

My parents have now been and gone, with no sign of labour in sight. Just read that 75% of babies are born after their due date, so I'm trying to chill out about the whole thing (not actually due til Thursday) but have been getting really fed up. Every day for the past 4 days I've thought this could be it. Now I just feel like my mind is messing with me.

Pavlov just off to read your thread

Laugs · 22/11/2009 14:25

Sorry, also meant to say hobnob I have everything crossed for you. Really really hope this is it xx

tigger32 · 22/11/2009 14:29

Congratulations Easyeggs and Missesse and welcome to lottie and Pearl

Keeping my fingers crossed that this is it hobnob Claired I hope things happen before then, but if not 13th Dec is really not that far away!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 22/11/2009 14:50

laugs i like the look of those gel breastpads. I have decided to boycott sainsbo's on account of their poor treatment of a pregnant woman me) but i do have some points to spend first

All is quiet from hobnob i wonder if she is well on the way to holding her new addition?

Trikken · 22/11/2009 15:26

congrats Esyeggs and Misssese loving both names. hope you are all doing well.

grace09 · 22/11/2009 15:57

Congratulations easyeggs and missese - what lovely names!

good luck hobnob - hope this is it for you!
