KayloFireworks · 17/11/2009 17:18

I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

I'm taking pregnacare, I didn't with DD but there's been quite a bit of swine flu knocking around here so I thought any bit of extra would help.
Hope everything turns out ok bigmomma!

Aussieng · 28/11/2009 09:28

Hi all. Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned and not too sickly.

BigMomma way to go on the "nicely implanted" and hope the other bits all get resolved soon.

I'm taking pregnacare. I get it from Asda but I get the one without Omega 3 since I take quite a lot of care on that score in my diet and it's pretty reasonably priced.

Nikalah - you are in good company. I'm 35 and am hoping to just sneak the birth in before my birthday on 5 August!

popAwheelie I'm meeting up with my mum next Thursday for a Christmas shopping day and I'm going to tell her then - I'll be 6 weeks then. All being well we will tell in-laws on Christmas day.

Not drinking should only be a problem for me at my office Christmas party but hopefully everyone will be too busy drinking to notice. Over Christmas, I have some low alcohol red wine (0.5% alcohol) so I am going to have the occassional glass of that. No-one else drinks red so I think that means no-one will notice.

Love how many of us met DP's on line

Missus84 · 28/11/2009 10:05

I met my DP online too as it happens, though not on a dating site. It's the modern way!

Shmoo75 · 28/11/2009 11:06

Hi all. Sorry that I have been MIA but, been so crazy busy at work and, too tired to come on here of an evening I find a Sat and Sun are the only days I get to come on here. If I am not too tired next week I might try getting up a bit early to come on here. We will see how the tiredness goes.
BigmommaI'm glad you have a nicely implanted baby in there and, I hope when you have your next scan it will show that it is a cyst and not anything else.
Nikalah I am 34(turn 35 early Jan)my DH's birthday is 19/08 so, being my first baby could be on his actual birthday. At least he couldn't forget it in years to come.

We are telling my parents and brother on the phone tomorrow and my in laws face to face tomorrow as, we are going round there to help get their decs out the loft(well I will supervise)and also a nice sunday roast. We wont be telling anyone else until I am past the stage that I have lost my other pg's(this will be Wed 09/12)and, had our early scan showing a heartbeat. Still waiting for the appointment to come through the post will let you all know when it is.

BunnyBaby · 28/11/2009 16:10

Hello Ladies!

Here I am, have been reading this thread for a few days (as had my suspicions), but didn't want to test to early so waited a few days!

This is my 2nd, I went 18/21 days overdue with DS1 (depending on which date you choose LMP or scan), and had a posterior 3 day labour!

This has not put me off, and I'm thrilled to be having another!

Looking forwards to getting to know you all!

Amazingly baby is due on my birthday! How cool is that?

I can't say enough how nice it is to be here and listen to you all thinking and doing similar things.

Nikalah - yes had a little freak out about being tied down, but I think a trip should cure me temporarily. morocco is great! I travelled around for 3 weeks there a few yrs ago. We went into Marrakesh (try stay in the old town.As it was xmas we treated ourselves to a few nights here: www.dar-vima.com/ really magical place!) then went over the Atlas Mts (unspeakably beautiful) and to the desert where we stayed in the dunes a night. Didnt like Fez much, but Essouria was spectacular (made friends with some local artists and partied with them!).

Where did you go in Sth America?! I like the idea of B.A, Chile, and Peru. But even one of these would be better than nothing!

Missus84 i read somewhere Vit D is good as well as Folic, but haven't sorted that out yet. Still coming to terms with my massive BOOBS. woah. Also, I too am wondering about the festive season. I'm going to a drinky lunch tomorrow with friends and they SO are gonna be suss if I don't drink. I'' try the antibiotics cover but hmmm not sure how long I can keep that up.

Who's told their folks? I was quite keen to, but realise that doing so will provoke questions such as: Where are you going to live (our parents live in canada & nz), how are you going to afford this? Both of which we dont really have ready answers to.

popAwheelie · 28/11/2009 18:12

PS:Aussieng have a great day with your mum! it will be a great xmas pressie for her!

Missus84 · 28/11/2009 18:20

I've been investigating alcohol free beer today, and it looks like there are a few good ones out there. I bought some Beck's Blue from Tesco today, and although it's not quite as good as the real thing, if you didn't know it was alcohol free you wouldn't guess. Apparently Cobra Zero is good too. I'm also seen some alcohol free wine called Sutter Home Fre - no idea what it tastes like but should be a good substitute for me when we've got people pver for dinner etc.

I don't think we're going to tell parents til Christmas - I want to feel a bit more secure about the pregnancy first, and we're also really struggling financially at the moment and I know my parents will be concerned about the situation. My DP has a job interview on Monday, so I'm hoping we'll be able to give them two sets of good news!

popAwheelie · 28/11/2009 20:07

Good luck for Monday, Im sure everything will fall into place.

Missus84 - I drink both of those and they're fine, though need to be cold! I'm not even a big beer drinker but I'm so fed up with sweet drinks (and coffee is losing its appeal)! And after a week at work, I want to feel like I'm having a beer on a Friday night.Handy if you can find a pub that serves that, too.

We've not told family yet (though I've told a few close girlfriends, woman's prerogative, I feel) - we'll wait until the 8 week scan before we do.

I've woken up with a cold, so I think I may be staying on the sofa today. Shame, as I usually do a bike ride on a Sunday, but it's also chucking it down. Ah well.

Popawheeli - my boobs are also huge suddenly, one whole cup size already in fact. Sleeping on my front is beginning to be an issue!

Love to all and your little beans. xx

Aussieng · 29/11/2009 18:40

Aw thanks popAwheeie. I'm an only child and I think my mum has about given up on ever being a grannie so she is going to be thrilled. I'm afraid there will be tears

Missus good luck to your DP for his interview tomorrow. My DH has not worked since moving to the UK (for us to get married) in 2008 and was offered a job on the same that we got our BFP That was quite a day!!! The job is nothing special compared to what he was doing back home but in the current climate we are very grateful and it has just so put our mind at rest about the financial aspect. There were tears then too . 2009 has been a really tough year and now suddenly 2010 looks so full of promise.

Hello BunnyBaby. Congratulations and welcome. It must be due to already having a child that you are so generous about your birthday. I still don't want to share mine

popAwheelie · 29/11/2009 21:30

I went out to a boozey lunch today for a friend's birthday and it went very well.

1# I started of asking quietly for a non/low alcohol beer, and was given one called Juniper which was 0.5%.

2# Then as everyone was moving onto Bloody Mary's I declined an offer to buy me one too and popped up later and bought myself a virgin Bloody Mary.

3#Orange and lemonade was next. My spanish friend gasped when she saw it and said 'is that a cocktail?!' I nodded and she said 'ah god! i thought you were being all healthy!' (like most europeans, never drinks much, so has been perplexed lately that I'm not drinking 2 to her 1 as I usually do).

4#Then later, having moved onto another pub I turned down another offer to buy me a drink, and bought myself a fizzy water and lime instead. 'Gin and Tonic?' I was asked. ' oh yes I love one on a sunday..'

this is a doddle! Was quite smug with my undercover sobriety, but can see it will get sorta boring. But on the plus side my eyeballs are whiter than they have been in decades.

aussieng that's really cool. This will be the first grandchild for both of our parents too. pretty spesh!
vinocollapso my boobs are so sore too - but pretty fantastic!

edwardrocks · 29/11/2009 21:46

Hi,
Can I join your group?

2nd time round for me.. Think I am due 4th August. Still very earlly days but very exciting. I have mananged to restrain myself from doing more than one test!

Missus84 · 29/11/2009 22:15

I have an awful cold and am devestated to learn I can't have Lemsip! It seems that it's the decongestant agent in it which is particularly bad, but I also had a Boots own brand Cold and Flu relief stuff that seemed to only be paracetamol and vitamin C so hopefully that's ok. I tried calling NHS Direct to double check but the were only taking urgent calls.

Mummy369 · 29/11/2009 23:15

Hi all, would love to join you. Got my BFP yesterday (well actually Thursday but didn't believe cheap Wilko test!) so thank you BOGOFF FR tests from BOOTS! LMP will put me at 12th Aug but I know I ovulated early so dating scan will probably alter it to around the 7th or 8th - which I know they won't change as it'll be within the 7 days!!

Am not too sure re. PG symptoms. I may be feeling a bit MS and 'floaty' but not sure if just tired after long weekend working. Good luck to everyone, may all our beans 'stick' together!

Oh, nearly forgot the Boobs!
Bought new bras last month and now they don't fit! Yay!

vinocollapso · 30/11/2009 07:59

Missus84 - I also have a cold, yuk, so spent most of yesteday sleeping and today will be caning orange juice. No drugs for us!

Well done Popawheelie on the no drinking - people aren't really that bothered, are they, so long as they can have a drink!

Welcome Edwardrocks and Mummy369 and Bunnybaby - good luck with how things progress.

Bigmomma - how are you? Is everything all ok still? Hope so. xx

Have a relaxing day (ha!) everyone.

xx

Am most perturbed to note that one breast seems to be growing at a slightly different rate to the other

Hello EdwardRocks and Mummy369

Aussieng · 30/11/2009 09:45

Also frighteningly found myself wondering this morning as to where I am likely to be able to find some nice elastic waisted trousers....

KayloHalo · 30/11/2009 10:44

Morning Everyone, how is you all?

BIG WELCOME to all the newly pregnant ladies - I'll second the saying "let all our beans stick together"

Well, I did my last CBD this morning to make sure it was going up as last time it never went up from 1-2weeks, imagine my delight to see 'pregnant 3+' come up within seconds. I have the progress CBD sticks in my favourite photos on my phone Definitely feel like this bean is going to stick around.

Going to tell DH's parents soon, my mum already knows. My friend from work wants to organise a night out to celebrate, another of my friends wants to throw me a baby shower...gonna have to reign them in I think

popawheelie thats a great plan you followed there. well done.

missus Hope your dp's interview goes well hun.

xxxxxxxxxx

Chulita · 30/11/2009 10:51

Argh! I woke up shattered today, waved DH off to work and then thought I'd catch up a bit while DD had her usual 2 hour nap at half 8 - but no, she decided that 30 mins was enough. [bleary]
I think knackeredness is my only strong symptom so far.
I'm making (decaff) coffee and doughnuts if anyone wants one!

BunnyBaby · 30/11/2009 12:29

Good afternoon all.

Well done those adjusting to not drinking, you will soon get used to it, and from being a big party girl before DS1 was born, I hardly ever drink now, which I didn't expect to happen, but it did. Though it may be DS1's radar that alerts him to get up early each time we have a heavy night has unwittingly put a brake on it.

Starting to get a bit of MS, it didn't hit me until 6 weeks last time, but I heaved this morning pre-brekky, and again when DS1 tipped bin over. Only two tea-bags rolled out, but it made me gag!

Oddly tummy getting bloated, which I heard is digestion system slowing down. So have switched to pre-weight loss jeans which are more comfy.

For elasticated mat wear, Gap and M&S were the best quality last time round. Washed well and tumble dried etc and kept their shape. Just be careful you buy your warm long sleeved stuff now as if you try to get it in Jan it will be all floaty spring stuff!

Boobs swelled a bit, but like last time expect them to stay the same. Spoke to nice lady at Bravissimo, and as long as you are entirely sure you are wearing correct size bra, no need to switch to non-wired until baby comes. Damage to breasts etc. caused by badly fitted bras. I was fine with this, switched at birth to unflattering maternity bras (as once milk came in I jumped another 2 cups sizes) and BF DS1 until he was 15 months.

Looking good all the newbies adding onto the thread. It's nice to be at the start of the month, as last time round was at the end.

Dibbydab · 30/11/2009 13:36

Hello Ladies,

Congrats to you all - can I join in this thread? Got a BFP last Wednesday, and actually managed to wait till AF was 5 days overdue before I tested (though I did do 4 tests to make sure...) Only our 3rd cycle of trying after getting married in September so weirdly I'm 5 weeks pregnant after being married for only 8 weeks. DH thinks he has supersperm as we are both mid thirties and thought we'd be trying a lot longer before we struck lucky.

DH is pleased (caught him looking at baby names on here), but he refuses to show any kind of real excitement until we are past the first 12 weeks - has anyone else experienced this? I completely understand it (he's the sensible one and doesn't want me to be devasted if something happens), but at the same time I want to be flicking through Mamas & Papas catalogues whilst acknowledging "yes, it's early days, but it's happening, let's enjoy it while we've got the chance".

The only symptoms I have are really sore boobs, and the fact that I fainted the night before I tested - unfortunately our builder was giving us a quote for some work on the house, DH thought it was something to do with the price he quoted!

So due date by my calculations is 01.08.2010 and I have booked an appointment with my GP for the end of the week.

The worst bit is not being able to tell anyone else, so this is the only place where I can really get any support or sound off about silly stuff without sound deranged

Dibbydab

edwardrocks · 30/11/2009 17:06

Afternoon all! I found myself slighlty disappointed to be told I have to wait until a week tomorrow for my appointment with the doctor. I don't know why I'm bothered because first time round I thought it would be really exciting and ther would test to see if I really was pregnant, but it was a bit underwhelming. I suppose I just want to be "in the system"

Missus84 · 30/11/2009 17:19

I'm feeling so anxious about the whole thing, especially as today is the same point at which I lost my last pregnancy - I am obsessively knicker-checking!

I also don't feel very pregnant. My boobs are still tender but don't feel as sore as they did a week ago, and the cramping I had around when my period was due has stopped. I'm not feeling sick or anything either.

popAwheelie · 30/11/2009 17:58

Hi Missus , I'm exactly the same. No symptoms other than the boobs. Also miscarried at about 4 weeks last time. The thing is, there's nothing I can do to control the situation. Annoying but true. so I'm just trying to relax and hope. Quite hard though.
